Hey everyone, a little breaking news for you today that we get to share. It's a special holiday edition of the Sponsor Talk podcast, and we're actually bringing on a new co host to join me and doing the work that we've already been doing. And he's an industry veteran that you might already know, Jason Smith. So Jason wanted to first bring you on to the show, talk a little bit about what we hope to do and just kind of see, you know, how's life? How how are things?
Speaker 1:And and let's let's let's move to the new year and do some exciting stuff.
Speaker 2:Yeah. No. This is this is super exciting. So those who those who who know me and and maybe follow the podcast that that that I've got, the Sponsor Pod, We've been doing it for the past year. In fact, The Sponsor Talk and The Sponsor Pod have been basically started almost the exact same time, earlier in 2020, both have done really, really well as far as exposure and a lot of people wanting to get sponsorship content.
Speaker 2:And for those that may have listened to the episode, I actually interviewed Avish, you know, at as a as a guest on my on my show. Anyway, we've we've been able to connect and and makes a lot of sense. We're gonna combine the podcast together.
Speaker 1:That's right, Jason. I I I'm really excited about this because we get to produce more episodes. We get to jointly really impact the industry and build that community that, know, we we've all talked about within the sponsorship world. And it starts with providing content that's accessible and most importantly, fun and educational for people.
Speaker 2:Yeah, and I think there's two cool angles that I think we're gonna do with it. One, co hosts, one being we'll be able to dive in. There'll be some episodes where we dive in on what's going on in the industry, Best practices, some of the really unique and innovative sponsorship activations that are out there, or just thought leadership that takes place in the industry. And then there's another angle, number two, which is people wanting to learn about how people got to where they're at and follow their journey and see where they got started, what was kind of those early jobs that they had in their professional career and getting to where they're at as the president of whatever company it may be or SVP of sponsorship for whatever team or organization that's out there. And so a lot of people want to know the paths that people have and there's little nuggets of knowledge that I think we can share with people that are wanting to get into the industry.
Speaker 2:And I think those two angles, and we'll probably have some other panels and things like that on the podcast as well but you know, Avish as you said, think the most important thing is we really want to get relevant, you know, high impactful content out there for those in this
Speaker 1:And I think the important thing that you've already talked to is no matter if you're an executive or an intern or someone exploring a move to the sponsorship industry, we wanna put out content and cover stories, whether it be insightful things about what's going on right now or learnings from careers and their journeys of people that are already making an impact in the industry. And if we can hopefully do that over the next however long we can keep putting out content, I'm really excited about what's next. I'm so glad to have you on board to help share that journey with people.
Speaker 2:I'm excited to be part of it. It's gonna be fun. Yeah, it's gonna be one of those things where we can talk to a lot of really amazing people and, and just have fun, have fun doing it. Anything you wanna end with Avish?
Speaker 1:Yeah. So, I mean, general, for anyone listening, we got some really exciting guests coming on the show over the coming months. We are going to be co hosting the podcast. So Jason will take on a few guests. I'll take on a few guests and we'll rotate from week to week to kind of, ensure that we put out as much impactful content as we can.
Speaker 1:And moving forward, Jason talked about, we'll obviously work to find panel discussions and other interesting angles to talk about that really just at the root of it, everyone listening become a better sponsorship marketer. Hopefully you join us on that journey as you know, I take a lot out of the conversations that we have. So hopefully you learn a lot as well.
