Episode 14
“Are You Walking in Patience… or Just Trying Not to Lose It?”
INTRO: Let’s Tell the Truth
Let me start with a question.
Are you truly walking in patience…
or are you just not reacting out loud?
Because those are two very different things.
Most of us aren’t impatient; we’re just tired of waiting.
And yet, patience keeps showing up in Scripture like a fruit we’re supposed to grow, not avoid. (Music)
SECTION 1: Why Patience Feels So Personal
Waiting touches everything in our lives:
Relationships
Healing
Purpose
Prayers we thought God would answer by now
James 1:2–4 tells us in the MSG bible; Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors. So don’t try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work, so you become mature and well developed, not deficient in any way.
We’re not to rush it, interrupt it, or negotiate with it.
And that’s hard—especially when you feel ready and God seems quiet.
SECTION 2: Patience Isn’t Passive
Patience isn’t passive. It’s not doing nothing, giving up or pretending you don’t care.
Patience is active trust in God. Its waiting in motion, trusting God’s timing over personal pressures. You’re still serving, obeying, and maintaining integrity all awhile God works behind the scenes.
Romans 8:25 reminds us that hope and patience go together.
You don’t need patience for things you already have—you need it for what you’re believing God for.
SECTION 3: The Waiting Is Doing Something to You
Here’s the part we don’t always like:
Waiting is changing us.
Ecclesiastes 7:8 says patience is better than pride.
Why? Because waiting humbles us.
It reminds us we’re not in control—and that’s actually a gift.
God uses patience to:
Deepen our faith
Clarify our desires
Strengthen our character
Nothing about this season is wasted. It’s about intentional periods of preparation, character building, and deepening trust.
SECTION 4: How to Walk in Patience Without Losing Your Peace (4–5 minutes)
Here’s a few gentle reminders:
You don’t have to rush what God is still shaping
Delayed doesn’t mean denied
God’s timing is never random
Psalm 37:7 says to be still and wait patiently.
Stillness doesn’t mean silence, it means surrender.
CLOSING THOUGHTS & PRAYER
If patience is the fruit of the Spirit, that means God is growing it in you—even when it feels uncomfortable.
You’re not failing because waiting feels hard.
You’re learning to trust.
Closing Prayer:
“God, teach us to wait without worry and trust without rushing. Help us walk in patience, knowing You are working even when we can’t see it. Amen.”
