LISTEN TO YOUR WIFE

God said to Abraham, “..Listen to whatever your wife Sarah tells you….” (Bereishis 21:12)

One of the differences between the Patriarchs and the Matriarchs is that the Matriarchs related to the world in a way refining it. In contrast, the Patriarchs remained more aloof from the world and were only able to properly affect the world through the guidance of their wives.

The same is true of every Jewish man and woman. The woman’s practical, down-to-earth sense makes the ideals of Torah in general, and Chassidus in particular, a reality. Through this reality, can we transform the world to a state of Moshiach.
