Rav Shlomo Katz brings Lag Ba'Omer to life with a soulful compilation of Torah teachings on Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai (Rashbi). Through niggunim and Chassidic wisdom, he explores Rashbi’s divine light, the joy of Torah revelation, and Am Yisrael’s unity. This series offers a transformative journey, celebrating Lag Ba'Omer’s bonfires and the eternal flame of Rashbi’s legacy.
Okay chevre, there's so much to do. Good morning, Gut Yontif. Gut Yontif, everyone. Pre-shiur.
We are learning Chodesh Iyar today Lag B'Omer, l'iluy nishmat נחום שמואל בן יצחק אריה, l'iluy nishmat בתיה פיגא בת ישראל, on us, in memory of all the holy chayalim who gave their lives and the ones who are working tirelessly to protect Eretz Yisrael. Today's sponsored anonymously, shkoyach anonymously. This seudah and everything here in honor of Rashbi so we can merit to see Moshiach Tzidkenu today. Amen.
B'ezrat Hashem. We will see Moshiach with ventilation. Is it on? Not yet. Yesh inyan, you know, to breathe and stuff like that.
Okay. Okay chevre. I know, I know, I know that it's kind of hard, but there's no reason to come back down to this world after last night. I actually even feel weird sitting in this chair because the Rav sat here in this chair for like an hour after the farbrengen, after the—yes, so it's a little bit of a יש פה איזה פחד whatever.
I don't have the words. Doesn't matter. Not for words, but thank you all for coming last night and really thank you, Dan, for do you guys know how bichlal—I'm just going to say it, I'm going to embarrass you for two seconds—do you know how I got like really this whole thing? Dan was my menahel of my Hesder Yeshiva that I went to about thirty-two years ago. Thirty-two? Approximately.
A few years ago. That's right after I got married, that's why I know. Right, but I was there a little bit after, so approximately like you were eighteen. I was younger, I was seventeen.
Your father had just went back to America. Yeah, I was sixteen, seventeen. And that's how I know Dan from Ramat Gan and then years later Dan saw me at a Yud Tes Kislev farbrengen that the Rav did, the Rav Ginsburgh did in Romema. That's where we saw each other again about twenty-something years ago.
And then—but really, Dan, you have such a chelak. All the chevre that have been getting so much, you have such a chelak in it. Unbelievable. So today what we're going to be doing is we are—I don't know, you know, for some of us this is the first time actually learning Zohar inside.
And it's very, very special, but if there's ever a day to learn a piece of Zohar it would be—it would be obviously today in Rav Shimon's day, on the Simcha of Rav Shimon. And the piece that we're going to be learning—and it's not we're not going to do everything that I gave out to you, but you'll—you'll take it with you. It has a very good, very, very good translation here at the bottom, Kesser v'Hakavod. Is that the one that you got, Dov? No, no, no, the—the—the set? You got something else? Matok Mi'Dvash.
Okay. This one's also. This is—this is an amazing, amazing explanation, but today to tune into the pnimiyus of Lag B'Omer of Hod She'be'Hod, we're going to be learning for a few minutes right now a piece of the Zohar about Rav Shimon's histalkus. The description of רב שמעון בר יוחאי's ascending to the—completely going up to the—to the higher worlds fully, fully.
And this is a description that we have of what was taking place in the room, what happened right afterwards. Now, I don't expect anyone here to understand if we just learned it in Aramaic. With what you have on the top is Aramaic and on the bottom you have here with the translation and we'll be learning from the bottom, okay? On the bottom because there's no inyan to crack our—our heads to try to figure out how you say it on the top. But this is explaining to us the seder histalkus, how it—how it happened, those last few seconds of רב שמעון בר יוחאי's life, which took place as we know on Lag B'Omer.
And what was—what the talmidim were feeling, experiencing, and hearing, and hopefully what we are also hearing and feeling and experiencing. So you see on the bottom right column, Amar Rabbi Abba. Amar Rabbi Abba, Rabbi Abba was one of the—was one of the top students of רב שמעון בר יוחאי, not to be confused with Rabbi Abbahu, which the Rav spoke about last night, that amazing conversation that he had with the one that was trying to make a mockery out of things. But Rabbi Abba says like this, he explains: Amar Rabbi Abba, לא סיים בוצינא קדישא למימר חיים, that means that Rav Shimon, the Butzina Kadisha, the holy candle, didn't even finish saying the famous—he was in the middle of teaching, he was in the middle of giving over these secrets of all secrets.
לא סיים בוצינא קדישא למימר חיים. He didn't even finish saying the word Chayim. What's that reference to?
רב שמעון בר יוחאי was in the middle of saying a pasuk, כי שם צוה ה' את הברכה חיים עד העולם. He didn't, it's a pasuk from Tehillim.
He was in the middle of saying that pasuk. He was in the middle of saying the word chayim. So maybe it means that רב שמעון בר יוחאי was saying the word chai and it didn't, right, chai, right, ad ha'olam he didn't get to. So Rabbi Abba says, לא סיים בוצינא קדישא למימר חיים עד דאשתכח מילוי, before his words were silenced because he went up, he went up to the higher worlds when he finished the word bracha.
So it's not that he even started saying the word chayim, but Reb Shimon kissed this world goodbye and the last word that רב שמעון בר יוחאי said was bracha, was blessing. That's the last word רב שמעון בר יוחאי said. It's an amazing thing. Ve'amar Rabbi Abba, and he continues and he says ve'ana kasavna, I was writing down.
He was one of those guys like last night, those guys that are sitting there typing every word, right? I mamash like, I look at them sometimes and you should know, the rav had it easy on us last night on many levels, both on level and length. Sometimes I see these guys that are sitting and writing down every words that he says, especially in Yud Tes Kislev where you could go for five, six hours straight and they're typing away, they're saying every single word. So these are the transcribers, the scribes. Rabbi Abba says I was writing down the word, I was about to get to the word chayim.
It's funny I'm going like this, they weren't typing anything. They were with a quill, right? And he said I started writing the word chayim, right, and the rest of the pasuk, sevarna lemichtav tvei because I thought that you know I didn't he said I didn't know that Reb Shimon that something happened. Velo shamana and then I didn't hear anymore anything that he said. Velo zekifna reisha, I didn't lift up my head to even wonder why didn't Reb Shimon finish this pasuk.
Ve'atam, why didn't I lift up my head? So Rabbi Abba says like this: de'nehora hava sagi, the light was massive. The light itself in the room was so big.
ולא הוה יכילנא לאסתכלא, I couldn't look even towards Reb Shimon. I just want to tell you, I think I showed some of you last week when I took my son to the rav's house, Dan I don't know if you noticed this, my son didn't look at the rav at all unless he looked away from him.
He didn't look at his face. He didn't look at him. Only when the rav turned his head or closed his eyes, then Nachman opened his eyes. Mamash, mamash trying to take pictures.
Right. But I only know this because of you actually, because you took the pictures. I didn't even know. So Rabbi Abba says I couldn't look, the light was so so big.
Ad dehacha izdaza'na, uvtoch kach nizdaza'ti, and I flipped out basically.
שמענא קלא דקרי ואמר, because I heard a voice, שמעתי קול של מעלה מודיע ומבשר מעלת רב שמעון מגן עדן, because Rabbi Abba said suddenly we heard a voice, I heard a voice in shamayim that was proclaiming the greatness of רב שמעון בר יוחאי in Gan Eden.
אורך ימים ושנות חיים ושלום יוסיפו לך בעולם הבא. I heard one voice that said that word אורך ימים ושנות חיים.
ואחר כך שמענא קלא אחרא and then I heard another voice that proclaimed and said: chayim sha'al mimcha and the explanation over here, it's another pasuk from Tehillim: חיים בגן עדן עם אחיה השילוני שאל ממך רב שמעון ונתת לו שאלתו ויחיה שם לאורך ימים עולם ועד which means Reb Shimon's request was granted to live eternally in Gan Eden with Achiya haShiloni. Now Achiya haShiloni is someone who keeps on coming up in our learning, he keeps on coming up throughout Tanach. He's the one that was from Yotzei Mitzrayim and he was also the teacher of Eliyahu haNavi and the Baal Shem Tov. And Reb Shimon, the voice that Rabbi Abba heard was basically chayim sha'al mimcha that Reb Shimon's request to dwell eternally in Gan Eden with Achiya haShiloni was proclaimed, requested and accepted.
These are the two voices that Rabbi Abba heard at the moment that רב שמעון בר יוחאי left the world. says the Zohar HaKodesh. Yalla, weiter. Kol hahu yoma, the whole day of Lag BaOmer, that day when Reb Shimon passed away.
Now listen to this, this is wild.
לא פסיק אשא מביתא, the fire didn't stop burning in Reb Shimon's house. There was a fire burning the whole day, an actual fire.
ולא הוה מאן דמטי לגביה דלא יכילו, and no one could even go close to רב שמעון בר יוחאי's body to see if he fainted or to see if he passed on to the next world, כי לא יכלו לגשת אליו, they couldn't, you didn't, you couldn't go, you couldn't go to Reb Shimon.
Take care of it later guys. Stay focused over here. You couldn't, you couldn't go to Reb Shimon. It was fire, and you couldn't even tell, so people there were basically, well I don't know if he dozed off or I don't know if he checked out.
I just have to say another personal thing. What am I gonna say, Dan? Yud Tes Kislev three years ago? Four years ago. One and a half minutes long. Tell them what happened.
Tell them. So they probably think I'm making all these things up. You tell them. I was on the stage, Reb Shlomo looked really sick.
He turned like entirely white and looked like he saw a ghost. Not me. No, you. Oh, I looked...
Oh yeah, that's what got me worried. I didn't see the Rav. I saw you looking like... on the stage next to Rav Yitzchak, instead of playing, you just like were freaking out and totally white.
I went to see what was going on. Rav Yitzchak stopped moving, stopped breathing, just stopped everything with his eyes open. On YouTube afterwards, it was over a minute. You can see it online, you can time it.
His wife, when he came out of it, I remember the next morning Rav Shlomo said that had it not been Rav Yitzchak, he would have called an ambulance. He started doing cheshbonos about being a Kohen if it's maybe, if it's a tzaddik, if it's not. And after that, Rav Yitzchak's wife called Itiel, the person who types, and says "You have to bring my husband home, now", because she was watching the live cast and she noticed that something had happened. He was before that, you guys were playing the last niggun more or less on the playlist, like everyone thought it was over.
It was, I just want to say, it was 2:30 in the morning also. He came down from whatever he was doing and it was like another hour. Yes. It was the latest one we did.
And then even though Itiel did not tell him that his wife said come home, because he said if he says to the Rav that your wife says to come home, he'll come home. No, it will be two hours. So that actually happened live. We could find the footage.
It was, it was a petrifying moment when you're not sure if the tzaddik actually took off or not. I never saw, I never experienced anything like this before in my life. There was no movement, didn't even look like there was breathing. B'emes.
B'emes b'emes b'emes. Here, because the fire didn't stop the whole day in Reb Shimon's house, Rebbi Abba and all the other talmidim, they couldn't tell. This is basically on Lag BaOmer, they couldn't tell if the Rav went, fell asleep, passed out, or capiche, it was done. It's in the group.
Okay, shkoach, thank you.
דנהורא ואישא הוה בסוחרניה כל ההוא יומא, because the light and the fire that were surrounding Reb Shimon the whole day didn't stop surrounding Reb Shimon. Ve'amar Rebbi Abba, so he says, Nefilna al ara, we all fell onto the ground machmas pachad, we were freaking out, u'geeina, and we were screaming out of pain to Hakadosh Baruch Hu that we should have, he should give us access to go and see what happened over here. And Hashem listened to their, to their plea, to, to figure out what happened, and the fire surrounding Reb Shimon stopped.
So then the fire stopped, and then they could go and see what just happened over here right now. So then Rebbi Abba says, basar de'azil esha, after the fire went away, חמינא לבוצינא קדישא קודש הקודשים, I walked over, I saw Reb Shimon, the holy fire, the holy light, de'istalak min alma, that he left the world. Is'ataf, he was, he was covered with his tallis, shakiv al yemineih, he was lying on his right side, ve'anpoh chayichin, and his face was smiling, because he left, he left the world with a smile in a simcha. His son was in the room.
קם רבי אלעזר בריה. Rebbi Elazar, we have, we have a few stories about Rebbi Elazar and רב שמעון בר יוחאי. They kind of, they kind of bonded. They kind of bonded.
They spent some alone time together in their life. Rabbi Elazar and Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai. Halevai we should all have the zechus to spend bonding time with our children one on one. Not in secluded in caves with only by carob trees but that we should have one on one time with our children.
He definitely had. He sees this. Rabbi Elazar gets up ונטיל ידיה ונשיק לון. He took his father's hands and he kissed both his hands.
Then Rabbi Abba says ואנא ללחכנא עפרא דיסחוס רגלוי.
אני ללחכתי את העפר שתחת רגלי רבי שמעון. Ani lilchachti I I what's that? Licked. Yeah I I with my mouth I yeah I licked the dust that was beneath the feet of Rabbi Shimon.
And he said that after the everyone saw that Rabbi Shimon passed away Bau chavraya lemivkei. They all came all the students came and started crying. And they wanted to meorer atzman with words about what just took place Velo yachilu lemalala. No words came out the pain was so big.
Sharu chavraya bivchiya. Then they started crying and crying without words.
ורבי אלעזר בריה נפיל תלת זמנין. Rabbi Elazar his son fell down three times onto the face of his father ולא יכיל למפתח פומיה and obviously he couldn't open his mouth and start speaking because of the great tragedy that they all experienced at that moment.
Levasar afterwards when Rabbi Elazar was able to start to talk again פתח ואמר אבא אבא תלת הוו which means we were three till now we were three the Shechinah you and me. Chad istacharu and now I'm all alone because you and the Shechinah left. Hashta tanud chiyuta now he explains here אתה תנוד השכינה הנקראת חיה ומקיימא ותסתלק מן העולם and now the Shechinah has left also and you leave this world. Tziporan tassin now tziporan is a tzipor right? Tassin will fly which means the neshamas of the tzaddikim which are called ציפורים יטוסו וילכו להם.
They will go and fly out to where they belong to wherever they're where their residing is.
משתאקן בנוקבאן דימא רבא and they will dwell in the depths of the sea of the great sea which is a reference to Gan Eden. Veachavraya and all the talmidim of Rabbi Shimon that were learning and drinking from Rabbi Shimon they were drinking all the secrets all these years that they had with them now that Rabbi Shimon left the world Kulehu shatyin dama. It's a very harsh reference.
Now what are they going to be drinking? Dama. What were they drinking before? As it says here in the explanation דבש חלב מים חיים which are all references to secrets of Torah. And now Kulehu yishtu dam now they're just going to be drinking blood. Klomar he explains here שילמדו סברות משובשות הנמשלות לדם.
He says when Torah isn't clear when a sevara meshubeshet that means that you're learning out a Torah you're learning out a mahalach you're learning out a sugya or even you're learning out a secret but there's no clarity to it then it feels like you're drinking it's mashal it's the parable is that it's like blood. It's not what it said before honey milk and mayim chayim. Now that seems that they were in a complete state of shock. I remember that after Rav Shlomo was niftar so I heard shortly after that a lot of the real talmidim were in utter pain not over him.
They were in utter pain over how are we going to understand Rav Nachman now? How are we going to understand Mei Hashiloach now? The way we're going to learn it is going to be like sevara meshubeshet. It's going to be wishy-washy. It's not going to be clear. I I still feel this till today.
How many times I learn something and I know okay I understand this pshat but I I know for sure this is nowhere close if I could just ask him what is the Izhbitzer really saying? What is Rav Nachman really saying? What is Rav Kook really saying? That's even actually I'm noticing it more and more. What is Rav Kook actually really saying? Because when he would teach Rav Kook it was like mayim chayim. I feel like it's like drinking blood. Okay but now they knew yalla we have to take care of business here.
There's a meis. Like the bottom line is there's a meis. And when it comes to isaskus bemeis dealing with someone that's dead we know there needs to be zerizus. Remember Chaim David.
his brother's neshama should have an aliyah. He's called me a few, well like I spoke to him right after the petira of his brother and the shayla and was like I think I spoke to him maybe 3:00 PM, something like this. And the shayla was do we wait if there's a chance that there is some family member that can make it in by another 36 hours from now, but it's not even sure that they can make it, or do we go for it right now? And boom, chick, chick, chak, a few hours later, his brother was laid to rest in Yerushalayim. It's a big inyan to be zrizim with these askas with the meis.
Here, they could have had every legitimate reason to say we can't move, we can't do anything.
רבי שמעון בר יוחאי is not physically in the world anymore.
קם רבי חייא על רגלוי. So Rabbi Chiya gets up onto his legs, on his feet, v'amar.
עד השתא בוצינא קדישא מסתכל עלן. Until now, Botzina Kadisha, I just want you to remember this word, Botzina Kadisha means holy candle and ner kadosh, Botzina. The holy candle, till now Rabbi Shimon was looking over us and we should pay back our due.
השתא לאו הוא עידן.
And that therefore now is not the time that we're crying and in pain over what was and what will be. ela l'ishtadla bikrei. Now all we have to do is be mishtadel in his kavod, to give the kavod and to prepare him to bring him to a burial.
קמו רבי אלעזר ורבי אבא.
And they both, the two of them, Rabbi Elazar and Rabbi Abba went to Rabbi Shimon.
נטלו ליה בתיקרא דסיקלא. They took him onto a special chair that was used for metaltelin, for moving people from one place to another, in order to put him on the proper gurney, yeah, gurney, yeah, gurney. And at that moment, Zohar says here, מאן חמא ערבוביא דחבריי.
There was such a bilbul hadaas by the chevra, if it wasn't for Rabbi Chiya and Rabbi Abba and Rabbi Elazar, who knows? It's like these three really took charge because no one could come to their senses. There was such a bilbul by the chevra.
ובכל ביתא הוה סליק ריחין. And the house was filled, was producing aroma and fragrance of Gan Eden in the house where Rabbi Shimon was niftar.
sliku bei b'furayei. They put him onto this gurney. v'la ishtamesh bei. And they didn't, no one else was osek in the tahara, אלא רבי אלעזר ורבי אבא.
Besides Rabbi Elazar and Rabbi Abba. Trust me, I mean, I could just imagine if you could think you could have the zechus for tahara over a tzaddik. So obviously there's eima v'fachad, but what a zechia that is. I remember when we mentioned his name yesterday, mention it again today, when Rav Sholom was niftar, Pesach, Abba Pesach Rothberg, who was mamash like a shtikel like a son to Rav Sholom.
So, he called me frantically and just wanted to know where the tahara is taking place. We have tzaddikim in the room that are mis'asek in these things, with the Hevra Kadisha. I, as a Kohen, I'll never know what these inyanim are. But he, I found out for him where Rav Sholom's tahara was taking place and he zoomed down to the place and was mis'asek for Rav Sholom in the tahara.
But here only Rabbi Elazar and Rabbi Abba. Now, the moment the tzaddik leaves the world, I would say until the moment of burial, there could be a lot of confusion because נישט אהער נישט אהער, you know what that phrase means? It's like it's not here, not there. And there was something going on over even over the makom kvura of רבי שמעון בר יוחאי. atu trikin.
So he says, ba'u giborim hamakim. u'marei trisin ובעלי מגינים ומלחמה דכפר. It seems like all, like, I don't chas v'chalila want to say thugs, but it seems over here that there were a lot of people of authority from the Kfar Tzippori where Rabbi Shimon was, that came to say, uh, you know. Was it just about that? Did Rabbi Shimon live in Meron? Did he pass? No, I don't think so, no, no.
No, I think he was led there. I believe. This was like the La Familia? It says listen, גיבורים המכים ובעלי מגינים ומלחמה. They wanted, look how he says the targum here, ורצו להוליך בכוח ביד חזקה.
וטרדון בהו בני מירונא biger and Benei Meiron exiled him. No, so maybe it wasn't Meiron. I mean, according to this it seems like that the Benei Meiron, maybe that's why there's such an energy in Meiron of like, especially on Lag BaOmer, there's like a lot of love and there's a lot of like, you know, animosity. Get out of my way, I gotta take care of business here.
Svachim bektirin. All Benei Meiron together screamed at them. De-chashivu, they thought that these other people would matzliach to take Reb Shimon to Kfar Tzipori, to bring Reb Shimon and bury there, d'lo yitkaber taman. And Benei Meiron didn't want him to be buried in Tzipori, but rather by them in Meiron.
Now this is amazing.
בתר דין נפק פורייא, after Reb Shimon's body left the house, a miracle happened.
הוה סליק באוירא. You've heard this story before, right? What is הוה סליק באוירא? Started to his body started to float, go up in the air.
ואישא הוה להית קמיה. And there was a fire that was burning before the mita of Reb Shimon Bar Yochai. And then they all heard a voice from above, sham'u kala. Ulu ve-asu ve-itkanashu.
Come and gather le-hilula d'Rebi Shimon. You see, why do we call this day a hilula, which is a wedding? The Rav spoke, we referenced this in the beginning of the night. Ha? Halal. We say halal.
Le-hilula milashon, but what does hilula mean in Aramaic? A wedding. This is a voice that they heard the moment that Reb Shimon was the body's floating up in the air, on the bed, there's a fire before everyone, and the voice from Shamayim says עולו ואתו ואתכנשו להילולא דרבי שמעון, to the simcha of Reb Shimon, to bring Reb Shimon to his place. And then the voice continued and it said in honor of Reb Shimon יבא שלום ינוחו על משכבותם, and they all heard this. So now we're getting to the spot where they're about to bury him.
Kad'alu me'arata, when they went into the cave in Meiron, shamu kala mi-marata, they heard another voice inside the cave that's machriz u-modia, speaking about Reb Shimon. And this voice said from Yeshaya: זה האיש מרעיש הארץ מרגיז ממלכות. The Reb Shimon would shake the earth in his lifetime and because of his Torah and his ma'asim, he stirred everything up.
כמה פטרין ברקיעא משתככין ביומא דין בגינך.
How many prosecutors that are in heaven are today silenced because of your zechut.
דנא דאינהורי שמעון בן יוחאי דמאריה משתבח ביה בכל יומא. This is Reb Shimon Ben Yochai that Hakadosh Baruch Hu משתבח ביה בכל יומא לעילא. That Hashem, maybe what he means to say is like this, is that Hakadosh Baruch Hu kiviyachol would always go to the prosecuting angels and all day say, you know, you think you have it so easy, you think it's going to be so easy for you to judge and prosecute amcha, my people? This is when Reb Shimon was still alive, he would go and say I have Reb Shimon.
So if that was true, Reb Shimon was still alive, the day that he passes away, comes the Ribono Shel Olam kiviyachol doesn't have to say anything because Reb Shimon himself comes to le-mala, ishkit, and he quiets out, everything gets quiet upstairs by the prosecutors.
זכאה חולקיה לעילא ולתתא.
אשרי חלקו בגן עדן העליון ובגן עדן התחתון. This is not for now to get into the difference between the two, but all of Gan Eden, ashrei chelko, that now they have Reb Shimon Bar Yochai with them.
כמה גניזין עילאין מסתמרין ליה. How many precious supernal treasures are saved for him. Aleih it'mar, on Reb Shimon it says: Ve-atah lech lakeitz. Go to your world, go.
Ve-tanuach, go and rest with the tzadikim in olam ha-elyon, ותעמוד לגורלך לקץ הימים. And in techiyat hametim, you will stand up and take which was given to you in acharit hayamim, ve-et hageula. So, I didn't think we would get through the whole thing cause it's a... I realized why because on every single chelek here that describes the histalkus of רבי שמעון בר יוחאי there's tiley tilim, there's buildings and buildings of Torah, of learning.
There's a lot of different pieces over here, but because the day is so hidden and secret, I want to leave it like this with actually how we learned the pshat of the Zohar Hakadosh and trust that our imagination has been going through a complete taharah through the power of Lag Ba'omer. You have the imagery, you have the voices that were said from Shamayim, you have the experiences of Rabbi Abba, Rabbi Elazar, and Rabbi Chiya of what this whole thing looked like. And I would say take it with you throughout this day, and b'ezras Hashem Yisborach knowing that today has the power of kabbalas hatorah sheb'pnimiyus and all the other things that we know about this amazing day, we should be zoche to feel something that's a hint that is brought down in one of the sefarim I saw by actually by by the sefer that Eli that you that we got on Lag Ba'omer from the Tolner Rebbe. Is it called Butzina Kadisha, that one? Remember the one on Lag Ba'omer? I think it's called Butzina Kadisha.
There's a pasuk, not a pasuk, there's a phrase that we say, ידיד נפש אב הרחמן. So it says there ידיד נפש אב הרחמן gematria Shimon Bar Yochai. One of the talmidim of the I forget who said this and they came to the Rav and said ah it's actually not, it's Shimon Bar Yochai is one more number than ידיד נפש אב הרחמן. But then the Rav said you don't remember how his name is written in the Gemara? Without an alef.
Which makes it equal. Yeah. So which means that the Paytan that that was you don't think the Paytan that wrote Yedid Nefesh didn't didn't know these things, didn't know these secrets? That Shimon's love and his fire for Am Yisrael, he is a Yedid Nefesh. He is like a Av Harachman to us on a day like this, lehavdil from other religions.
He's like a he's like a tatte. He's a merciful Abba and he's a Yedid Nefesh to all. Shimon Hu Hakol. Shimon's to everybody.
I encourage you today to open up something, open up one thing like open up a story, learn one story with the kinderlach, see one sicha from the Rebbe or whatever it is with all the with all that we've been we've been really doing stark preparation for Lag Ba'omer this year and it's been incredible. And the gift we had last night, there's an invitation to come into the sodos of the Torah today, which we're all chalshening for. As the Rav said last night, and we spoke about this earlier, to go through a taharah that works, that's that really does its job, there has to be shivrei lev. Remember he said this last night? The heart has to break open and then the waters that come in and purify you, purify you.
So there's been Boruch Hashem enough heartbreak in Am Yisrael, and there should be simcha today. Amen. Tremendous simcha where our simcha always should have to do with Ohr Tzaddikim, the light of the tzaddikim. And let's let's go vaiter from from what Hashem gave us amazing gifts.
Let's go vaiter us here, our chevra, our kehillah, our shul, our neighborhood, just go maala maala, strengthen ourselves, and b'siyata d'shmaya we'll dance with Rabbi Shimon, with Rabbi Elazar, with Rabbi Chiya, with Rabbi Abba, with all the Tannaim and the Amoraim and the Rishonim and the Achronim and the Geonim and everyone, and all of us will feel like we have a chelek by the tish. That'll be the greatest simcha in the world. Yasher Koach everyone.
