Hello and welcome back to another episode of the Contagious Victories Podcast. My name is Victoria Glass and welcome! This show is supposed to be a 'spicket for good.' If you were to turn on a spicket, like a water spicket. I just want to like, pour love and hugs and emotional support into you. That is what this podcast is for.
I am happy to be here with you today! I hope you are doing well. I hope everything's been going good since the last time I chimed in over here on the Contagious Victories podcast. I know it's been a while.
It's fall now. We are well into October when I am recording this. I hope your fall is going good. I hope you've got those candles out, and the pillow covers for the pillows you put outside. Or however you do your fall decorating, I hope that it's going good.
It's going good at my house. I've got some cleaning that I've been getting done. Today, I wiped down all of the surfaces in my living room which was nice. A couple of weeks ago, I cleaned out the spare guest bedroom which was nice because I've been meaning to do that for like, a year.
So everything's going good on my end of this conversation. I wish I could hear from you! If you want to chime in, I'd love to hear from you.
You can reach out to me on instagram @ContagiousVictories or you can message me on my personal instagram @OnceUponA_Tori
We'd also love to hear any good news that you have you can add that to the Contagious Victories Facebook Community by searching "Contagious Victories," and I am excited to hear how your season has been going! Let me know!! <3
Today, we are going to talk about some fun things. You know, I wasn't sure what I was going to talk about at first. But then I said a little prayer and said, "You know what God... I just want to be a 'spicket of good' and so please put something on my heart that I can talk about. Because I just really want to show up, I feel like that's half the battle."
And right when I went to go sit down and record, I was instantly reminded that I hadn't read this little page that my grandmother gave been out of her Bible study notebook. We were hanging out a couple weeks ago... me and my Gran... and she had a couple of pages that she wanted to share with me from her Bible book from her church.
And I said, "Well, read them to me" and she just tore them out and gave them to me.
So I said, "Ok well I'll read them later!"
Then I forgot to read them. I just kept them with my notes and my calendar and when I went to go sit down to record I saw it and thought, "I'm gonna read this." And so I did.

And it was beautiful. It talked about how important your tongue is, which is so ironic. Well, not ironic... but very on point with what I was sitting down to do at that particular moment, which was talk to you guys on the podcast.
The whole lesson was just talking about how important words are. And how the tongue is a really powerful muscle, is what it was saying, and it doesn't matter how big or small it is in specifics. (As far as like, inches or how big someone's tongue is.) But it has the power to do great things or bad things.
It also talked about how you should not boast of great things, but instead use the muscle for good by speaking God's word.
Philippians 4:8 - Brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable—if there is any moral excellence and if there is anything praiseworthy—dwell on these things.
It also noted to keep a gratitude journal, stay away from sarcasm, gossip and things that might bring negativity or "false-ness" into the world. So, it was really nice to read those pages right before I sat down to talk with you. It was a good reminder to really think about what I am saying, because it really does not have to be that complicated!

Ok, so first up on the agenda for today's episode is... *dun-dun-dunna*... there might be a new format as far as what segments I have on the podcast. This episode is going to be a little different, I am going to include some new segments!
So here are some things that I have been on lately as far as like, health, spirituality, relationships, career, and just little things that I have been either interested in or learning in (or about) lately.
Let's start with health. Ok, so lately in the health department I have been going and doing pilates with my friend, Melissa. She has a pilates video, it's not like we've been going to a studio or anything. But we have been going over to her house and doing these pilates videos in her living room. while Dylan works out with her husband downstairs in his little home-gym in their garage. It's been fun!
I've been really enjoying getting up and moving and I have noticed some increased energy. So, that is kinda what I've been on as far as health goes.
You know, I am not a health-nut. So for me, doing a pilates video a couple times a week in someone else's living room is just enough. I have really enjoyed the fellowship of being welcomed into someone else's home. I know Dylan has been enjoying seeing me go with him over to his friend Michael's house (who is Melissa's husband), and working out with him. He actually was going over there and working out a few weeks before I started. And he started feeling a lot more energetic and kept encouraging me to just do something.
I finally gave in and Melissa and I have been kicking butt in her living room doing those pilates videos. It's been just enough for me. I am really proud of myself for doing that.
Here is your cue to just get moving if you've been thinking about it too.
Another thing in the health *little* department is... I've been making smoothies! I've been on a smoothie kick. We've even gone to Smoothie King a couple of times. But mainly I've been making them in our house with our Magic Bullet. It's just a nice little way to start the day and eat breakfast. Because if I don't eat breakfast, usually I'm a little hangry by mid-day. It's been helping with work.
That, combined with getting up and moving twice a week has given me some energy! Maybe that's why I am back on the podcast. You never know!
Ok, the next segment I want to talk about is social media. We are not going to get too in depth with this but I heard the phrase the other day, "A Confident Follow."
You know, there's two ways you can think about a confident follow:
Someone you are follow-ing and feeling good about that follow.
but also, YOU being a "confident follow"
So that when someone goes to your page, they want to follow you, they feel like they are winning the lottery to be your friend and press that follow button... and to follow along in your life.
I heard this phrase on a comedian's podcast, it wasn't anything to do with marketing or anything. Still, it really stuck out to me. Over the last couple of weeks, I have gone through my follow list, not of followers but people I am following, and I just made sure that all of those people are people that I am confident in and that I want to follow. Because when we surround ourselves with people and images and reels and things in the social media category, it really does impact us. It builds into our own character, our own psyches or our own caches if you will.
When it comes to social media, I do want you to be a confident follow and a confident follower, in every social media platform that you are engaging on.

As requested, we have to include a victory story! This one is for all of my fall lovers out there. By that I mean, people who are obsessed with pumpkin. Now personally, I am not. I am not the person that is obsessed with pumpkin. I like apple. I think apple is a nice fall flavor. I think there's things like sunflowers that remind me of the beginning of fall, and the cotton fields, and cobblers...any type of cobbler.

But a Nebraska man, according to GoodNewsNetwork.org is someone who loves pumpkins enough to make the worlds longest journey in a giant pumpkin boat, on his birthday. This man broke the world record!
Duane Hansen who made it 41 miles down the Missouri river in a giant 846 pound pumpkin boat! He named this pumpkin boat the S.S. Bertha and you can read all about it on the GoodNewsNetwork.org
That is our #VictoryStory because, ya know... I just think that is incredible!
He was 60 years old and woke up on the morning of his birthday with just one funky, fall goal. And that was to sail in giant pumpkin. So, there you go!
Well, I'm going to use that as my cue to sail away and conclude this episode of the Contagious Victories Podcast.
Whether it is morning, evening, noon, or night... I send my love to you.
I hope you have a great afternoon, a great evening. I'm heading to eat dinner with Dylan's family. Fall in love with fall my friends. Thanks again for listening!
