In this episode, we talk about how faith, neighborhood, and real estate all connect. If you’re relocating, upsizing, downsizing, or buying your first home, this message will help you think beyond the walls and consider the life you’re building. Well, hello Las Vegas. It's Monique Buchanan, the host of the welcome home with Monique show. And I want to thank you for tuning in yet another beautiful Saturday. Listen Happy New Year's. I know you guys heard my last week's show that was a rerun, so technically, this is my first show of 2026 I pray that all of you guys are doing well out there. Had a great, great time with your family over the holidays, but I've got a wonderful show for you today. Like I said, this is going to be my first show of the year. You guys already know a couple shows ago, I was trying to bring in testimonies. You guys already know me. You know, I believe testimonies are so strong, you know, it really stirs your faith. And yes, this is a real estate show, but you guys already know I always give praise and honor to God, that's who opened this door for me. So with all that being said, I know a lot of you guys have goals this year and things you want to hit. I also know that a lot of you have maybe decided that they that you're looking for a new church home, right? Maybe you just moved here and you're looking for a new church home. I know it took me quite some time to find a church home, and it's so imperative, right? Especially we can't hit goals unless we have God in our lives, right? So with that being said, I want to introduce you to none other than apostle Dion Atkinson and his beautiful wife, Pastor, Seneca, Hi, you guys. Oh, I'm so truly honored you go like just to rewind what I said, I think I was telling you guys before we got on the show. You know it was, it was a struggle to find a church home that resonated with me, right? So I got saved when I was living in Seattle, Washington, at my church home up there, and when I moved back here to Vegas, I was looking for a church that that really just, you know, was more of a like when I was talking about you as a pastor and how you preach, your style of preaching. So what I was looking for is a teacher of the word right for me, I need to leave church and know what was spoke on. So when I go home and my family and friends say, hey, what was the word about today? You know, if I couldn't get them to come, at least, you know, I can share it. I can share what the word was about that day, you know. And for me, although I was saved in Seattle, the foundation was laid in a small Pentecostal church down with Big Mama Yes, you know what I mean, yeah. So that's like, you know, nostalgic for me. So I'm looking for that big mama church, you know, where we got up before service and and, you know, and I wish, I wish this happened more often, but that, you know, when back in the day to get up, and they would tell you, remember that? And that would stir my face, even as a little girl, to hear people what they went through, that we can think of myself. Well, we're not the only ones over here having issues. We all go through, but God always brings us through. Yes, so let me stop with my fake preaching.

Seneca Atkinson 3:35
God has done for you, but I

Monique Buchanan 3:36
feel truly blessed. We just closed on Robin Turner, God bless her, that's one of your guys's. She goes your Nourse, exactly. She's, she's a true woman of God. And so when we just, she just bought a brand new house, we closed on it, like two days before Christmas. That was nothing but a blessing. So you were the realtor. I was her realtor. Yes, I was her realtor. I had actually met Robin, visiting our church two years prior. She kept my information. God led her to me last December, this past December, and you know, I've got a partner named Becky. She She shows a lot of my clients the homes. I said something, I'm showing you the home. I said, but I'm not gonna Becky ain't gonna take you. I'm gonna take you around, show you. And I told her, I said, You know what, we thought this was for you to get home, which it probably was, but it also was God was using you to bring me to plug you, kingdom, family, international church, because I was in dire need of a church home. So I'm so grateful. Well, anyways, with that being said, I want to kind of cut it loose and let you know, Apostle Dion was speaking some great word on New Year's Eve service. Me and my family all went for New Year's Eve. That was beautiful. The word was so amazing that night. And then also, just so you know, Pastor Seneca has the gift of prophecy, okay? And that's not something you find often. And and I tell you what you prophesied over my mother in law, and tears were coming to my eyes, because everything you said was exactly true that's going on in our life to Dave be the glory, and she had never been to your church. Wow. So I know that's a true blessing right there. But with that being said, go ahead. Apostle Dion, bless my listeners with let them hear some of that pastoring.

Deon Atkinson 5:20
Well, you know one thing, I must say, Monique. First of all, we thank the Lord for this opportunity, and just to be able to be invited to come and the enormous heart that you have, not only for yourself and your family, but for the city, for this community, that that speaks volumes. And also, I thank the Lord for my wife. We've been graced by the Lord to be married next month, will be 42 years Amen, and so look at God. The Lord has been so

Monique Buchanan 5:49
famous, and you guys are happy, you know what? Let me jump in and say this. They are so cute. Okay? They showed up the other day, and they both had on cute little matching blue Adidas outfits. I said, oh, excuse me, but I love that. I love to see people our friends. You could tell you guys are friends first, and you just love each other. Well, you

Deon Atkinson 6:09
know, we're just saying what you just said, Monique, that even, you know, kind of impressed something in my spirit, that that's that is exactly what makes ministry worth serving it, because when you have those that are with you that the Lord has connected you to, especially a spouse or a son or daughter, it helps, it helps to be able to project the true heart of Jesus Christ, because at the end of the day, it's not about us, it's all about him, and because our desire is to make it All about him, it gives us a greater platform, which I should say the platform is the hearts of people. And as they invite you into their heart, they're really inviting Christ into their heart. And so the blessing is, is that we've been walking together for such a long time, not just in ministry, but in life itself, ups and downs and challenges like everyone else, but because of the authenticity of what Christ brings to your life, because you can be living your life every day, just going through life, but it's not life, because Christ Himself has said in st John 14 and six that I am the way the truth and the life and ministry for us is truly about him. It's all about him and wanting to have a greater desire to do the great things of his heart. Because what really makes ministry for us worth, worth serving, it is knowing that this is the Lord's doing. It's his work. We've been privileged to work, to work with him in his work. We don't work for the Lord. We work with the Lord. And the more we focus on Him and we keep him before us. It makes it that much more of a joy to serve people, not to try to finesse them, not trying to take them on a road or some kind of a trip, but to give them actually what the Lord wants them to have. And that's Christ, Jesus. And what we were sharing on New Year's Eve was simply about the elements or the essence. Of the heart of the Father that he wants to unfold in this world. He wants to, as the Bible says in Habakkuk, that he wants to fill the earth with the knowledge of His glory as the as the waters cover the sea. And that's what, that's some of what, what we're wanting to do in KFI Kingdom family International, is give people opportunity to see and to hear Christ, not us, but knowing that he uses us as instruments, instruments and vessels by which he can project his heart, that he can show himself as the Lord and the Savior of this world, even though everyone may not accept him and receive him right, but they, at least they have. They would have experienced and encountered his presence, and in knowing that that the gifts of the Spirit that can flow prophecy, words of wisdom, words of knowledge, that that's just a precursor, so that they can understand that God is alive and he's real. He's not a fairy tale, he's not a myth. He's altogether real. And so it's been a blessing to know that the Lord has partnered my wife and myself together, and to know that we we can be, as the word of God says the one new a an example of the one new man that Paul talked about in Ephesians, so that people can see there's a balance. Because the Lord never meant for just a male to do it all. He meant that we would have that proper balance in male and female working together and being able to minister the true heart of the Father, because it's it's the Father's heart that that needs to be revealed, that needs to be unfolded in this world. And Christ came to do that. He came to to express he came to show us the Father, even in the as it says, it's coming to heart. Now to my heart. St John the 14th Chapter, when the Lord says that when you've seen me, you've seen the Father, yes, and the same is true today, that when people see us, they should see him, not how we dress, not how we talk, our rhetoric, or anything like that, but the true presence of Jesus that makes the difference in people's lives that are broken and hopeless and they're lost. Lost, yeah, but once upon a time, we were the same boss without hope, without a rhyme, nor even a reason, but Christ himself made that difference. And so I know my wife has something to say, because she's a she's a fireball herself. I can say this honestly, Monique, that if it wasn't for Christ, but also knowing that who he partnered in my life, who he brought into my life, right? Because at the end of the day for me, I can't take the credit. I can't take the glory, because I know that you need, we all need a support system. Yeah, we need that. That major pillar in our life, Christ is, but he does with himself, gives us pillars. So she's a, she's a true pillar in my life. So yeah, I know she has something to share.

Seneca Atkinson 10:41
Yeah, yeah. And it's really something that you were saying and and I occur, but so much that you did say, and it was a blessing to be with you, Monique. And I just thank God that I know we're going to grow even stronger as we walk together in the Lord. And you too have an amazing family, beautiful family, and God is doing something great within your family, and we can see that. But one thing you were talking about encountering God, because everything that we do, we do from the heart of the Father, and it's cultivated in love, you know, and the Word of God says it's like we he draws each other. It's with love and kindness. Have I drawn thee and to be drawn together with the man of God, my husband as a partner with him in the gospel of Jesus Christ, has been a journey, yes, and the journey is because for so many years, when we he was a pastor and people like, Oh, you're the first lady. I don't do titles like that. I don't want to be the first. I'm the only lady first. We want to take the first step. I know that, but at the same time, I don't do titles like that, and I never have you don't get caught, right? Absolutely and but because of the man of God, that apostle Atkinson is brought me into a full knowledge of who got it and what God wanted to not only do in his life what the Lord wanted to do in my life, but I had to be an open vessel, you know, to be committed to the Word of God, to the works of the Lord, and for the Lord to use me in whatever way that he chose to use me in. And I'm always blessed by that, because coming up young as when we got married, I was almost 20, he was 19, yeah. And so we were very, very young and going into ministry. And so you see so many different facets of ministry and what people say ministry should look like, and how we should be. But the missing component was God. Right, right? That is not about all about him, and it should have always been about him. But so many make it about themselves, and because of apostle Atkinson, and I can truly say, being an example to me in our home, not just in the church, that he's what he was one way, right? But he was the same way in the home. And that drew me even closer, because growing up in Las Vegas, we both are natives here and born in the church. You know, didn't have relationship, but went to church all my life, I can say, but there was no relationship, and we saw so much, you know, in the church, you saw so much that was ungodly, right? You know, but you just roll with it. But to see that God is real, yes, that he expects holiness from us, that our heart should be committed to Him and open to him, and it's about drawing his people with love, because that's how he drew us with His love. And it has been a blessing that now we're journeying together, pastoring together, and now at a whole nother level, where God has moved him into apostle, right, and bringing that five fold ministry into the house of KFI, making it an apostolic house. So it's a lot of teaching, a lot of grooming, a lot of growing in the Lord that some things you thought you knew you didn't know. So you're learning again. But it's a blessing to stand by a man of God that He is yes, and to say that, you know, we're doing this together with the help of the Lord, that we can't do it by ourselves, not at all, but because of who he is in the Lord and what God had created him to be, after his image and his likeness, created in His image and his likeness an ambassador that he lived for the Lord. It drew me closer, yes, to know, hey, if God can do it for him, he can do it for me. He has a work for me, too.

Monique Buchanan 14:40
Amen. Yeah, and I love that. And I will jump in and say this, one thing that I loved about the church is that, you know, I've been to, I visit many a church, right? And there's some great churches out there. Absolutely, for me, another thing that stood out besides you being a preacher, or not a preacher, but a teacher of the word, which you are, you know, your members, it was so. Different. I've went to many a church. We sit, we listen, we clap, we sing, we go home. Nobody really talks to each other, not at your church. I must have got so many hugs and felt so welcome. You know, people are talking to me like they've known me forever and and it, you know, it felt so good. It felt like I had a family. So it's so appropriate that the Kingdom family, international church is going to be my new home, because that's what I was looking for. I'm looking for a family that has the same values in Christ that I do yes and so that, you know. And let's touch back on something real quick. You guys touched on something that a lot of my friends, we have conversations about unfortunately, they have a lot of church hurt. There's a lot of people listening to us right now that have experienced church hurt. And if you're just tuning in, this is Monique Buchanan. I am the welcome home host for a real estate show called Welcome home, Monique, but you're tuning in, and I've got my pastor and his lovely wife, Miss pastor, Seneca, on with us, and we are sharing the Word of God today, because this is the first, technically, my first, show, and I want to dedicate it to the Lord. You guys all know that I follow Jesus Christ. I have not arrived, not in it, not at all, but I've come a long way, yes, but anyways, but I know there's people out there that are seriously looking to our church home, you know? And I just want to let you guys meet the pastor and his wife and give you an opportunity to visit the church, yes, but you know it's, you know it's here for you. So anyways, Sunday morning, 930 is service. We have Bible study at six o'clock. Wednesday night, at six o'clock, you guys even have a Men's Ministry too, don't

Deon Atkinson 16:41
you every fourth Friday? Yes, 30,

Seneca Atkinson 16:44
okay, but women's ministry and the women's glory there, and we meet every first, first Saturday of the month.

Monique Buchanan 16:51
But, yeah, let's jump back into a pastor. So I have a lot of friends that say, oh, Monique, you know they have church art now. Yeah, I know where it's coming from. They say, Well, I don't need, no, I don't need to go into a build and I can have church right here. And a lot of people think that, or they just, you know, they there's nothing wrong with jumping on YouTube and watching, you know, church, but there's something about being in the house of the Lord. Yeah, there's his Spirit is moving. And not only that, I'm standing next to somebody that believes what I believe, and I can turn and they won't think I'm crazy when I'm talking, you know, to them about some you know, you know, yeah, they get it. They say, Yeah, you know, Monique, I understand where you're coming from. I talked to my friends that, you know, maybe they're, you know, not walking, you know. Hey, listen, I'm not trying to act like I'm perfect. I'm my walk is barely holding on, y'all, I'm trying to get back, but I am walking, yeah, and so to have that support system in the house of the Lord with his that's the church. The people in there are the church, not the building for people out there listening, going, I can just do bedside manner, you know? You know bedside Baptist, right? You know that's great, as long as you know, that's great, as long as you have a relationship with God. But there's something more to it. I think, I think that, and this is just my interpretation of the word, I think he wants us to be around each other, you know, to be that support system. But what do

Deon Atkinson 18:14
y'all say? You know, it's a true matter to know that there are so many people that have been hurt in the church, just like in the family and but at the same time, that should not cause us to become so enamored with hurt and pain that we stay away. Yeah, you know, because even in the family, sometimes we see, you know, families that are estranged and separated and divided because of hurt and pain, but there's nothing to be said about when those families come together in healing, and there's a healing that happens in that family. And see, churches are no different in many regards. There are so many people have been hurt in different ways. And you know, we can go we can It runs the gamut. But the main thing is knowing that the Lord is a healer. And in KFI Kingdom family International. One of the things we do want to project and to say on this at this moment is is that it's a healing place because the presence of the Lord is there. Yes, and for those that have experienced church hurt, they don't have to stay in that hurt position and stay there. For the remaining

Monique Buchanan 19:19
enemy wins, the enemy

Seneca Atkinson 19:20
wins when that happens. And that's what I try to tell, you know, my friends, listen, don't let him win. No, not every just you can't. Just like you can't, you know, paint with a broad brush. You can't paint every church the same, because of one church, right? You know what I mean. And like you said, it's like a hospital. You go there to heal. Yeah, there's sick people in there. Yeah, sure. That's why we're there. I might be you. I'm sitting next to you. I might be a little sick, right? But you, but that's where I'm going to get better. You know what I mean? And it's, and it's a process, glory to glory, yeah. So just when you, when you find yourself, I don't know for me when, when I find myself not going to church. You know, the enemy has, he has a field. Mm. A foothold. He does. He does so well. That's one thing about the Word of God. He says that we often forget to cast all of our cares upon Him, for he cares for us. And when we go through or when you experience that church hurt, you're going to experience all hurt, and it's just not in the church. You just happen to happen in the church. And we say, Oh, these things shouldn't be but when you are amongst people, everybody hearts are not right. A lot of people are going through different things. They haven't been delivered hurt people, hurt people. And the Word of God says that Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but he would deliver us out of all of them. And sometimes it can be an excuse because we don't want to face certain issues, or something may remind us, but that's the place. You know, Jesus came to heal those that are sick. He came for those that are lost. You know, there's no perfect church. No, there is, you know, because we are imperfect people. So as he said, the minute we step in it. It's not perfect, because we're here, that's right, you know. But you know, that's just a place that I believe, even in our ministry we've experienced, you know, we talk about church, church, but there's leadership, yeah, you know, they don't want to talk about that, because a lot of times they the one that caused it, you know. And so that's a whole nother subject, but that's one thing about nkfi, one thing I learned about apostle, whatever is going on, if there's an issue, let's deal with that issue, right? He was never a pastor to just like, kick it under the rug. That's not my problem. That's not my business. Whatever happens if it comes to his attention, he's addressed with it, yes, and that helps others to heal, because he get I don't want to hear your side. Don't. Let's come together. That's right. I'm not going to listen to you say this about her, about him. Let's come together. That's good, and let's sit down and talk. And he's always been like that. That's good. And I think that that's one reason why I thank God, we're not a messy, messy church, right? You know, because leadership tried to handle things right, we don't kick things under the rug. Absolutely, we all are accountable, and we're accountable to each other, you know. So if I hurt you, if I said something, even if it's me, you know, I would apologize if I looked at you the wrong way, or whatever the situation may be, right. Let's talk about, let's talk about, you know, I'm saying,

Monique Buchanan 22:28
Let's heal from it. And I that's, you know, and this is a little bit off, off, not really off topic, but kind of even when, at the end of the word, when the announcements come on, you know, she says, if any of you, this is per pastor, if any of you all have a question about, you know, what was, you know, preached today, or whatever the word was, you guys give out, like, a little email, and then give us a little time. And on this day, we'll get back and get in, we'll address it. He even say that during church. And I like that. I caught that. I said, Well, Wow, I've never heard a church do that before.

Seneca Atkinson 22:58
Well, actually, he opens up. You know, a lot of times they don't have but he would open up a question before his message, Oh, that's good. He did that for a long time, and still, periodically, if something come in the box and he's, hey, I got a question here, right? If someone can raise their hand right in the middle of his message, oh, it's interaction, you go back and explain that. That's good. And we try to be open to that so people

Monique Buchanan 23:22
can leave with a clear understanding, because that's what it's about, right? It's about getting that clear understanding absolutely right. Now, let me ask you something. I know there's plenty of people that are listening going, you know, hey, they sound like a great church, but maybe they're hesitant to come over to the church just yet. They're able to watch your sermons online. Correct? Where could they find those sermons? I've had a couple, by the way, you guys on my my social media posts, I was recording pastor and in you and you and pastor, Seneca, I keep apostle Dion and Pastor Seneca, sorry, I record you guys, and I got a lot of hits. Where can we listen? Where can we watch? And I said, You know what? I don't know. Let me ask them. So where can they find your guys's video?

Deon Atkinson 24:08
First of all, we were on Facebook Live. We on Facebook. We have a page on Facebook, church as a Facebook is it called kingdom, family International, that's it? Yes. Okay. And also on YouTube as well, and we do live streaming as well. All right,

Monique Buchanan 24:21
where's the live streaming at? It would be, would that be on YouTube, okay, but they can go now watch previous sermons on Kingdom family International. Is it? Does it have church after it? Or no? No. Just kingdom, Kingdom family internet.

Deon Atkinson 24:37
Want to put in Las Vegas, because there are some churches. Other ones, yeah,

Monique Buchanan 24:42
Las Vegas. Okay, you guys, Kingdom family International, Las Vegas, and you guys can watch their previous sermons as well as Facebook, yeah, on Facebook, and also our Bible study and Bible study on every Wednesday is live on Facebook and YouTube. Oh, there. Oh, I love that. Yeah. So when I if I can. Make it in. I can at least jump on, yeah, on YouTube or always Facebook. Once again, you guys, Kingdom family International, if you are wanting to go in and feel the presence of the Lord 1229, West Owens. Is the address 1229, West Owens. That's Las Vegas Savannah. 89106, okay, that's Sunday 9:30am Sunday 930 Is there anything else like that stands out? You want to talk about God?

Deon Atkinson 25:29
Led you to kind of back to what you were talking about. Church hurt. One of the things we often say is comical, but you know, we all had a life before, before Christ, before BC, before Christ. And one of the things that's funny that when most people were in the world, we most people went to the clubs and everything else. And people had club hurt, right? Yeah, and they went back to The Club. They didn't stay away from the club, you know. And situations, circumstances, all kinds of things jumped off. And life, life be life. And there you go. And they went back to the club, you know, they went back to other places. But when it comes down to the house of God, then they don't want to. And that's a there's a spiritual matter there. There's a demonic influence there that files the minds of people to feel as though, you know, I'm gonna only find peace alone and but that's never how the Lord intended or he designed us. We need each other. We do need each other, even in a club. You that's why we people go, would go to a club, because they wanted to be in some

Monique Buchanan 26:24
gathered around people. There you go. That's right, that's a very good analogy, which it took me a second. I haven't had my coffee, but that's I'm like, Oh yeah, you're right. I did have some, some hurt in the clubs, because let me, I'm not going to listen. I'm from. I grew up here. Yes and yes, I partaked in the partake, but you're right. I got hurt, but I went back to The Club. Now, if I get hurt by the church, why would I go back to church and try a new church? Yeah, I definitely tried a

Deon Atkinson 26:54
new club. Is not the Lord that does the hurting? No, it's his people, but not all of his people are there to consume us and beat us and abuse us. Yes, and that's what the enemy wants us to become focused on. Right Is that what they did to me, it's not what he did to them, is what they did, right? And that's what we got to help people get beyond that,

Monique Buchanan 27:16
yeah, because it only hurts them. That's right. It only hurts your walk with God. Yes, you can go ahead and do baptize or baptize Baptist, whatever, bedside Baptist, but I don't see you growing

Seneca Atkinson 27:26
in that, because that's what the enemy wants, and that's a spirit of isolation. That's it, you know, and that's what he wants you to isolate yourself that you can't really you're bouncing. You're not really bouncing the word off. No one is all about what you feel, your feelings in your emotions, and you're guided by those feelings and those emotions, you're not able to process it in the presence of God. You're not able to process it through the word of God, through prayer, through meditation, through consecration, is because you so stuck in this one place. And that's what the enemy wants people, period, to just isolate themselves.

Monique Buchanan 28:00
And I feel like you think you're hearing from God sometimes, and you don't know if you're Who are you really hearing from? Yes, you know what I mean. So I love that. There's so much more that we got to we could touch on. But I just want to say thank you guys so much. Thank you for being obedient to God, you know, and just leading your sheep in the right way. It's been a blessing. And I've been in it's crazy because every client, I always tell them, I feel like every client God sends to me from K umv, they're directly from him. And I even had one client, he said, listen, and he could they all know, I'm, you know, I'm a believer. Well, listen, I don't want you talking to me about Jesus, but I want you to sell my house. I said, Listen, I ain't gonna talk to you about you, but can I pray over he said, Yeah, you can do that. Okay. You guys. I appreciate y'all,

Deon Atkinson 28:46
God bless you, and we pray. Shout out to your daughter on the birthday.
