Venus Castleberg: Hello, everyone, and welcome to Awakening Adventures, where we will hear real stories from people who've had their own spiritual awakening, and what they were guided to do with their new awareness.
My name is Venus Castleberg, also known as The Home Whisperer, where I help real estate agents clear the energy from stuck homes so that they can sell with greater ease.
My guest today is Scott Schilling.
He's a bit of a unicorn. I love that. A unique combination of new-school innovation, technology methods, and tools, including AI mashed up with old-school, boots-on-the-ground, face-to-face presentation skills.
As the sales trainer at Schilling Sales and Marketing Incorporated, he helps individuals, organizations, and sales teams learn to sell more with less effort by reframing the sales process as an act of serving.
He's passionate about sharing messages of hope and inspiration and is dedicated to utilizing his skills to grow God's kingdom while delivering the results his clients truly deserve and desire.
And with that, I am so happy to have you here, Scott. I know we've had a chance to talk a little bit, and I really wanted other people to hear your heart and what happened when you had your own spiritual awakening.
Scott Schilling: Well, thank you for the opportunity. It’s always an honor. I actually said it in a presentation this morning—someone asked what happens if things don’t go the way you planned.
I said, I’ll share the right answer. Wherever your spiritual foundation is, that’s up to you. God’s plan and timing is perfect. Plus, all things work together for your good equals total peace.
December 14th was the 11th anniversary of my near-death experience. Didn’t have it on my bingo card. Didn’t think it was going to happen. I also take no credit for coming through it the way I did.
A couple years earlier, I got in an argument with God on stage—nothing I would suggest—and basically declared I was done being a hired gun except for three things: sharing messages of hope and inspiration, teaching and training others to do the same, and building a kingdom. He heard me.
There was a tapping on the shoulder… then whack. I lived through something most people don’t live through, and I came out without deficiencies. I’m phenomenally blessed. I believe God saved me, and my job is to be a living example of what I believe while supporting others in what they believe.
After days in intensive care, the doctors kept telling me I should be dead. I finally told them it was God’s grace, mercy, and favor on my life—and they discharged me.
Over time, perspective increases. You start to realize you were saved to positively impact lives. So I guess I should go to work.
Venus Castleberg: So what happened after you left the hospital?
Scott Schilling: It was strange. I almost had to prove it happened because people didn’t believe I could be okay. Growth equals awareness plus inspired action. I had new awareness, but that alone doesn’t change anything.
I started seeking, listening, asking what I was meant to do. And when you focus on something, your brain finds it—sometimes paths you manufacture yourself. You follow them, realize they’re not it, and start again.
That’s why I’m intrigued by what you do. It’s orchestrated, even if you can’t always see the wand.
Venus Castleberg: What were you seeking? What were you looking for?
Scott Schilling: I realized I didn’t do any of this alone. I stopped trying to make things happen and allowed them to happen. I’ve always wanted to positively impact lives, and surviving confirmed that.
Then comes the question—how? That leads you inward, to seeing the difference between you doing it and spiritual guidance doing it.
A friend once told me I was praying the wrong prayer. Instead of “God, use me,” he said, “God, make me usable.” That changed everything.
Messages start showing up. Sometimes you’re in a holding pattern because the people you’re meant to serve aren’t ready yet. Seeking allows you to feel your way through, intuitively.
Venus Castleberg: What gifts opened up after your near-death experience?
Scott Schilling: I started noticing messengers show up wherever I went. I asked why this was happening, and I was reminded of my declaration—I was never getting out of it.
It required trust. That’s where total peace comes from—accepting you’ll never understand the plan. That creates peace.
What shifted was empathy and compassion. People could feel that what I shared came from my heart, not my head. It became about connection, service, and investing in people.
Venus Castleberg: You mentioned another awakening recently. Can you share that?
Scott Schilling: On the 10th anniversary of my near-death experience, I asked myself why I was doing so many things. I realized what brought me joy was sharing messages and seeing the moment something lands for someone.
So I simplified. I chose joy and fulfillment over doing everything. That shift changed everything.
Venus Castleberg: If someone is going through their own spiritual awakening, what would you want them to know?
Scott Schilling: Number one—it’s okay. It’s not usual, but it’s okay. New awareness comes in stages. Lean into it a little at a time.
People may wait to share things with you until you’re ready. Every time you surrender, there’s another level.
Go into every situation asking, “How can I be of service?” That changes everything.
Venus Castleberg: Thank you, Scott. Would you like to share your free gift?
Scott Schilling: Absolutely. The free gift is the PDF of my book Talking with Giants, where I interviewed 15 world changers. The book supports multiple charities and is based on the idea that generosity builds prosperity.
Venus Castleberg: Thank you so much for your heart, your vulnerability, and your desire to serve.
Thank you to everyone listening. Please like, subscribe, or share if you received something from this episode. You are not alone as we awaken to a new reality. If you know someone with a home that feels stuck, send them to the freehomeclearingquiz.com.
I look forward to seeing you next time.
Scott Schilling: Thanks, everyone.
