Good morning and

welcome to Morning Serial.

Okay good morning and

welcome to Thursday.

And just as a quick reminder, we're off

shooting on location right

now so Morning Serial this

week is just a little

bit shorter than usual.

But that being said,

let's jump on into it.

Today is the long

awaited Teddy Bear Picnic Day.

But be very careful picnicking because

today is also don't step on a B day.

That could turn a really

great day into a not so great day.

Well let's get your day off to a great

start with a quote from

Sofia Vergara who said quote

"I've learned that you can't let other

people decide how you feel about

yourself" end quote.

And it's a great reminder that confidence

starts from within right?

And it's way more

powerful when it's self made.

Well today's news, facts and birthdays

are for July 10th and

we're going to start back

in 1890 when on this date

Wyoming was granted statehood.

More mountains, fewer rules.

Then in 1913 on this date the world's

official highest recorded

temperature was recorded

at Greenland Ranch in Death Valley in

California and the

temperature was 134 degrees Fahrenheit

56.7 degrees Celsius

if that's your thing.

Then finally in 1985 Mad Max Beyond

Thunderdome it was released

post-apocalyptic awesomeness.

Well happy birthday to you

if today is your birthday.

You share a birthday with Jessica Simpson

she's 45 today and I have it on very good

authority that she now knows that chicken

of the sea is not actually chicken.

Sofia Vergara she's 53 today the modern

family star with comedic

magnetism and the late Nikola

Tesla the electricity genius and mad

scientist muse well he was

born on this date in 1856.

He would have been 169 today.

Well the number one song on this date

back in 1983 was Every

Breath You Take by the Police.

Now this is that classic song that

everyone knows says I

love you and I'm super creepy

too because I'll be watching you

everywhere all the time.

What's kind of funny about this is Sting

actually wrote the song

following a painful divorce

which is not the funny part but he did

intend it to be a bit

creepy which is the funny part

at least it is to me.

Well despite all of that the

song won two Grammys in 1984.

So for the book review suggestion today

check out Start With

Why by Simon Sinek and you

can discover the motivational magic of

purpose first thinking right.

It's great for leaders it's great for

dreamers and I guess maybe

even toddlers who are asking

why non-stop.

Well whether you're picnicking with a

bear today or watching

your ex through binoculars

remember joy lives in simple moments.
