Greetings and Welcome to The 405 Coffee Break with O.K. Solberg
New episodes tend to air over the local KMMR radio station @ 5 minutes past 4PM each M-F. And have been doing so, nearly every week since Sept 2018.
I'm D.J. Rasmussen, O.K.s friend since junior high, possibly your neighbor & this websites maintainer, whom strives to get each episode's show notes written, the transcript proofed and the audio posted to the internet within a few hours of that days KMMR air time. NOTE: recently been publishing most new releases by 4:30PM.
Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy the time we can spend together.
Wanna again welcome you to The 405 Coffee Break. Midweek, Wednesday, get your cup of coffee, mug of hot chocolate, bottle of water. Let's see what's happening.
OK Solberg:Spring wheat $5.61 a bushel, 550lb steer calf. You got any? They'll bring you good money, $4.07 a pound. Butcher hog in Iowa 59ยข a pound, and a 100lb lamb that is fat weighing 100lbs in Billings will fetch you $2.44 a pound. But, guys, there's more, much more.
OK Solberg:Like I said, middle of the week and look at what all is happening. The MSU Bobcats won the championship in a barn burner of a game that went into overtime and was won by a single point. What about that then?
OK Solberg:And please, all you Grizzly fans, including myself, stand up and cheer. Why it is our state, the state of Montana. I hope to shout, anything from Montana, which leads me to my next topic and that refers to baseball. Huh? How could Orvin go from football to baseball?
OK Solberg:Here's the deal. Still on the topic of the Bobcats football. Even if you are a grizzly fan, okay, stick with me. In baseball, which I follow with some desire and passion, I research and listen to a lot of old vintage radio broadcast from the 1950's and the 1960's And as crazy as that seems, yes, Thea is considering to get me institutionalized.
OK Solberg:I could possibly be certifiable, but not yet certified. Anyway, while listening to vintage radio broadcast in the world of baseball, one of my fondest moments come inside Yankee Stadium while the Dodgers, then in Brooklyn, were playing the Yankees.
OK Solberg:And when Johnny Padres, the pitcher for Brooklyn, walked to the plate to take a crack at hitting the ball, the entire crowd in Yankee Stadium erupted in applause. What? For the opposing team's pitcher? Yes, sir. They did. Yes. Yankee fans applauded loudly for the opposing pitcher during the game when he was at the plate. That there is my kind of fan appeal.
OK Solberg:Sure. The Yankee's fans wanted the Yankees to win. That's what fans do. Yet they had enough wherewithal to notice and appreciate talent even if it was from the opposing team. So this here is for the MSU Bobcats. What a game. What a season. What a glorious victory. I deem it Taco Wednesday.
OK Solberg:Now the next item that needs to be mentioned in my opinion is this. On Friday, the day after tomorrow, Aaron Flint will be in Malta. Yes, the host of Montana talks will be right here in little old Malta, Montana and the highlight of the show will be drum roll please, our own doc from KMMR
OK Solberg:aka Cynthia Norgran, is a retired brain surgeon and she is the one that removed an arrow that looked like a spear from the skull of Robin Stewart. Robin lived and grew from his 9 years of age at the time of the accident to a young man in his early forties now. And Robin will also be in town. Malta.
OK Solberg:Yes. And Aaron Flint will broadcast his show live from Malta where the surgeon doc and the patient Robin will be reunited and share the stories from that horrific event. So listen on Friday right here on KMMR at 9AM to hear the story and relive the experience. Then please note carefully. I'm not sure that you know this, but I'm a pastor at Elam Lutheran Brethren Church here in Malta.
OK Solberg:And on Sunday, Robin Stewart will be sharing his testimony in the 11:00 worship service. Please come and join us. That's an invitation to church to hear a powerful testimony by a young man who had a spear penetrate his skull and live to praise the Lord for preserving his life.
OK Solberg:Seems like a good time for a Bible verse. Have mercy on me, my God. Have mercy on me. For in you I take refuge. I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings until the disaster has passed. Psalm 57:1 So there you have it.
OK Solberg:A wonderful bible verse, a congratulations to the Bobcats, even a Grizzly fan applauds you. And don't forget, Doc, Aaron Flint, and Robin Stewart on Friday. And again, an invitation to come to church on Sunday at 11:00 to hear the testimony of Robin the boy who had a spear penetrate his skull and brain and live to sing praise to God.
OK Solberg:So until next time, as you go out there, remember now, don't be bitter.
