Isaac Allen Burns:Oh. And hi. It's me, producer Isaac Allen Burns, and I've got this hit new single from this brand new pop band. And the only problem is we need to figure out what everyone's poses are on the main album. I'm sure.
Isaac Allen Burns:The lead singer, Holly Baker.
Hollie Baker:Yeah. I'm front and center, and I'm doing one of the, like, look over my shoulders so you can see my butt. Nice.
Rowan Collins:The Hawkeye pose. The bad
Isaac Allen Burns:boy of the group, Joe Diomede.
Joe Diametti:Yeah. I am behind Holly's
Rowan Collins:I'm I'm hand him.
Isaac Allen Burns:No. Go on. No. Continue.
Joe Diametti:No. Keep going. I'm behind Holly with my hands in front of me, you know, one over the other, and I seem to be staring a little too much at your butt.
Isaac Allen Burns:I don't blame you. And the the sensitive one, Rowan Collins.
Rowan Collins:I'm laying on the ground, putting both of my hands up, kind of gesturing to Holly's butt as I put it on.
Isaac Allen Burns:Okay? Center frame.
Rowan Collins:Center Like, Will Smith it, if you will.
Isaac Allen Burns:Yeah. Yeah.
Rachel Baker:It's all about the butt. I started it.
Isaac Allen Burns:And then finally, the one who doesn't sing the best but can dance really well, we've got Rachel Baker.
Rachel Baker:I'm really far in the back standing on a hill looking out over the ocean.
Hollie Baker:Arms out.
Isaac Allen Burns:Arms out?
Rachel Baker:Yes. Arms out.
Isaac Allen Burns:Looking over the ocean in the background of the album. Yeah. You're really it's really tough to see you, like, Graham.
Rachel Baker:I'm the
Joe Diametti:angst one.
Rachel Baker:The mysterious
Isaac Allen Burns:one. Yeah. You're mysterious one. Oh. And I'm the hot one, Isaac Allen Burns.
Isaac Allen Burns:And I am not even on the cover because I'm the whole album. Woah. Woah. Thank you. Very meta.
Isaac Allen Burns:Okay. Him. Well, gang, now that that song's out of our minds and we've got it out of our heads, time to put another song in our head, which is the theme song. Rowan Collins:Okay. Guys,
Hollie Baker:focus. Okay. Sorry. Wow.
Isaac Allen Burns:Yeah, guys.
Joe Diametti:Focus. Okay.
Rowan Collins:Relax. Comedy.
Isaac Allen Burns:This is a family show. This is a family show. Okay. Ready? Hand scene.
Isaac Allen Burns:Sup, fuckers? We're here to talk todos.
Hollie Baker:Oh, god.
Joe Diametti:Okay. Alright.
Isaac Allen Burns:That was a lot of fun. That was a
Rowan Collins:lot of fun.
Isaac Allen Burns:We had fun.
Rowan Collins:So we're outside the building.
Isaac Allen Burns:So we're outside the building. Well, we're not outside the building because we're going back in time to the alleyway where you stared at the ground for a few seconds and dared somebody to touch it. Uh-huh. Running into an old friend of yours, Cerulean, who seemed to be doing a bit of shopping for their charge, we should say, one Clover of Towers who has expensive tastes. Apparently, Cerulean and Clover are still here even after a month after the events of what occurred due to some kind of legal star witness situation.
Isaac Allen Burns:Who quite knows? Oh, that stuff's so complicated. Heading towards the morning pages, a little coffee cafe, bookstore, milkshake place, you found yourselves eating some milkshakes, saying some questionable things to young children, and conversing with each other about things to come. Suddenly outside, you saw a bit of a ado, a bit of a kerfuffle as one Postme was being accosted by some peacekeepers who had some choice words for our adventurers. However, Postme also had a message for all of you, which is to return to the Adventuring Guild because there's some news and also some missions.
Rowan Collins:Okay. Well, let's get going then.
Isaac Allen Burns:Very good. You head off to the Adventuring Guild. You make your way through the town towards closer to the center of town to the Adventuring Guild. And as you step inside, you see that Michelle is there, and she is on the phone. You see that there is a single dialed in phone that, you know, y'all are familiar with.
Isaac Allen Burns:You had one at the Bracken Road Adventuring Guild. This one's a little nicer, but it's still a similar capacity. It pretty much only goes to the capital, so the Regulus branch, head branch of this area. But you see that Michelle is currently on the phone. She's got that situation where she's got her side to you, and she's got a phone kind of in here.
Joe Diametti:In her shoulder.
Isaac Allen Burns:In her And you see that she's, like, kinda got something written down. As you come in, she takes a look at you and just does this.
Joe Diametti:Michelle's on the phone.
Rowan Collins:Michelle's on the phone. So we should be very quiet while she's on
Isaac Allen Burns:the phone. Saw the message from her.
Rachel Baker:I know how phones work.
Isaac Allen Burns:I just didn't think they'd be here this fast.
Rowan Collins:Well, I mean, like, you know
Isaac Allen Burns:I know. Are
Joe Diametti:we supposed to just
Isaac Allen Burns:However this case goes will be very telling for how this is all gonna play out.
Rowan Collins:I know. But but we're not supposed to let these in.
Joe Diametti:If we get in trouble,
Hollie Baker:I'm blaming you. Said to be quiet. Yeah.
Rowan Collins:But we are not supposed
Isaac Allen Burns:to You stay safe too, Cal.
Joe Diametti:Willow, Michelle.
Isaac Allen Burns:I'll talk to
Rowan Collins:you later.
Joe Diametti:Okay. Was that Callie?
Isaac Allen Burns:No. That was Calliope, the head of the branch in Regulus.
Joe Diametti:Oh. Okay.
Isaac Allen Burns:So thanks for coming back. I know we already had one new initiative today, but, we have another one. I can't
Joe Diametti:do therapy twice in a day.
Rowan Collins:I mean, I could. You should do therapy
Isaac Allen Burns:twice in a Well, it's not therapy. And as she says that, you hear the sound of a toilet flushing. And stepping out of the little local restroom that you have in the Adventuring Guild is a tall, well muscular orc. See, he's got a peacekeeper uniform as someone that, I really only think Pistachio would recognize because Pistachio, I think, is the only one who really saw this person. Through Quacker's eyes, you see one individual named Byron Stormwater who steps out.
Isaac Allen Burns:Just a big orcish man, blonde hair, blue eyes. You see that he strides up, chest out, hands kind of behind his back to kinda stands at attention next to the desk. And Michelle says, yes. Meet Colonel Stormwater. He is here as the peacekeeper liaison for this branch.
Hollie Baker:Liaison?
Joe Diametti:Peacekeeper? Yes. As part of the adventure guild?
Isaac Allen Burns:Well, it's not. And you see that as Michelle is starting to talk, she looks very stressed. You see that Byron kinda holds up a hand and says, don't worry, Michelle. I can explain. You see, we at the Peacekeepers want to make sure that there's good communication between the adventuring guild and the Peacekeepers at large.
Isaac Allen Burns:Pass. An idea I'm sorry?
Joe Diametti:I sorry. Pass. Hard pass. Pass pass what? I don't think.
Joe Diametti:Pass. Adventuring Guild never has and never will work with the peacekeepers.
Isaac Allen Burns:But you see that's part of the problem. You see, if there was more communication between the two groups, things could get done a lot better, more efficiently. This is a initiative that was started actually by my father, General Stormwater, and I believe that you'll find this a much better use of your resources and time.
Joe Diametti:Did I mention hard pass?
Rowan Collins:What is your proposed plan that we have, sir?
Isaac Allen Burns:Yes. You see, in order to improve communication, all missions that go through the adventuring guild will first be signed off by the liaison of the Peacekeepers, which in this case is myself. Additionally, any reports that are written about missions or thereof will also be signed off by me and approved Michelle? By me. Michelle,
Joe Diametti:you can't let this happen. Yeah. This is this is everything the Adventuring Guild is is not supposed to be. We are supposed to be a separate entity. We don't let bootlickers like this in.
Joe Diametti:We don't let people with high ranking titles like this in. We operate independently for the better good of the country.
Hollie Baker:Oh, we do. Yeah. He's right. Yeah. It's true.
Isaac Allen Burns:Are you saying that peacekeepers don't work in the betterment of the country?
Joe Diametti:I'm saying you peacekeepers know exactly how you
Hollie Baker:This is the adventure guild is supposed to be separate from government entities. So I think the confusion is, is there a way to increase communication in a way that's helpful without blurring that line?
Isaac Allen Burns:Ah, yes. Yes. There is, and that's actually what we're doing here. You see, you're not a part of the government. It's simply that the peacekeepers, which are a domestic unit, not essentially a part of the army as it were, very helpful definition.
Isaac Allen Burns:We are the ones who are just making sure that everything is tip top and that there's no duplication of resources and that if you're doing a job, we know about it and we know how it went and what you're doing.
Joe Diametti:And why do you get control of that?
Isaac Allen Burns:Oh, because I'm colonel Storewater, and my father is very important. And I'm the liaison.
Hollie Baker:Right. What happens to the missions that aren't approved?
Isaac Allen Burns:Oh, it'll simply be rejected. Okay. You won't even have to worry about those. You won't even know they come in.
Rowan Collins:Pistachio raises their hand.
Isaac Allen Burns:Yes. Tiny one.
Rowan Collins:Yes. Hi. Pistachio here. Clarification, what are your standards for having an adventure approved versus not approved?
Isaac Allen Burns:Well, that's not something I'm afraid that I am to discuss with the adventuring guild. That's something you don't need to worry about at all. You just keep doing what you're doing best, which is helping people or whatever it is you do.
Joe Diametti:And what if we decide to do one anyways after you decline an adventure?
Isaac Allen Burns:Oh, well, then you would be going against the peacekeepers. Yeah. That's certainly something we can't have. And then what would happen? You see Michelle kinda puts her hand really hard on the desk and says, thank you so much, colonel Stormwater.
Isaac Allen Burns:I appreciate it. I would like to talk to these four real fast just to talk about the missions that you approved earlier today. And, Michelle looks at the four of you and then presses my office now.
Joe Diametti:Okay, Michelle.
Rowan Collins:Yes, Michelle.
Joe Diametti:And then as I pass Byron Stormwater, Cappy's going to scratch his head with his middle finger.
Isaac Allen Burns:You see Byron Byron fully doesn't notice. He just simply stands there really smugly and watches you go into Michelle's office. Great.
Rowan Collins:Great.
Isaac Allen Burns:The four of you kinda shuffle in. Michelle sits at her desk and says, look. I'm not happy about it. You're not happy about it. Why are we doing it then?
Isaac Allen Burns:We shouldn't let this happen. Do you know why the third tenet of the Adventuring Guild is there?
Rowan Collins:What? The third one is the don't get involved in political things. Right?
Isaac Allen Burns:Yes. Yeah. You know why it's that's there? It's to prevent things like this from happening. So why is this happening?
Isaac Allen Burns:Because you went and killed a Major in the Algenovi arm.
Rachel Baker:Well, I didn't. Well, yeah.
Joe Diametti:But he was gonna hurt a lot of people.
Isaac Allen Burns:I understand that. And I'm not here to parse out whether what you did was right or did what you felt like you had to do to protect people. I get that. Everyone in this room gets that. But there are consequences when we kill people associated with countries and governments.
Hollie Baker:So why not just suspend Cappy?
Rowan Collins:Woah. Hold wait a second.
Hollie Baker:Well, I just don't see why the whole structure should change if one person made a mistake.
Joe Diametti:Okay, Willow. Well, I didn't make a I stopped someone who was going to hurt a lot of other people who who did kill someone else in that room.
Hollie Baker:That doesn't seem to be the understanding that the peacekeepers have. Yeah.
Rowan Collins:Because the peacekeepers are part of a corrupt system of government.
Isaac Allen Burns:Thank you. Look. Look. Look. Hey.
Hollie Baker:Hey. That have power now over the adventure guilt.
Isaac Allen Burns:Peacekeepers and the adventuring guild have never seen eye to eye on these things. Okay? I explained this earlier regarding even this city. Okay? Yeah.
Isaac Allen Burns:It is a tenuous balance that the Adventuring Guild strikes because we have to be everywhere and we have to be impartial. This isn't the first time that this has happened. It's not gonna be the last. Okay? There are a lot of moving parts right now.
Isaac Allen Burns:And the last thing that we need is a continual provocation of the peacekeepers. As it stands right now, the three missions that came in, barely looked at and said, sure. Yes. Whatever. This is not about them wanting y'all to help specific people.
Isaac Allen Burns:This is about sending a message.
Joe Diametti:Alright. I need I need to go for a walk. What what are the missions? I need air.
Isaac Allen Burns:Look. I know it sucks. Yeah. Just avoid peacekeepers for now if you can. Okay?
Rachel Baker:Your heads not easy to do.
Isaac Allen Burns:Keep your heads down. You're all very competent. I'm sure you can all do this.
Rowan Collins:Fine. What are the missions?
Isaac Allen Burns:Mission number one, we have some river caves that need attending. There were some monsters that were seen crawling around in that area. Second one is a jeweler reported a theft. This is near the docks. So that's Luvenhurst territory.
Isaac Allen Burns:Keep that in mind. Finally, someone is asking for a wellness check for their cribbage buddy. Apparently, someone was had a game with, some friends. He said he was acting strange for the last few weeks. Now he hasn't seen him in a few days, and he's asking us to check up on him.
Isaac Allen Burns:Well
Rowan Collins:Well
Joe Diametti:I vote we go monster hunting because I would really like to punish something. But I think it's okay with Pistachio. We should turn this to the new members of our group.
Rowan Collins:Sure.
Rachel Baker:Which one involves the fewest peacekeepers?
Isaac Allen Burns:Probably the river caves. You got the river caves. I imagine
Rachel Baker:Yeah. I don't wanna have to talk to them.
Joe Diametti:So we're in agreement?
Isaac Allen Burns:Yes. Let's go
Joe Diametti:kill some monsters.
Rowan Collins:Do you like killing some monsters? Yeah. Let's
Isaac Allen Burns:do that.
Joe Diametti:Since apparently that's what I do these days. And Cappy shoots daggers at Michelle.
Rachel Baker:It's tense.
Rowan Collins:I should probably get changed then. This is kind of a new outfit and I'll I'll go
Joe Diametti:to gonna wear your fishnets?
Rachel Baker:Kinda seems like a good mission to use those.
Rowan Collins:Well, maybe I could use the fishnets to catch the monster. I'm gonna go get chased.
Rachel Baker:Bring your fishnets.
Rowan Collins:Oh my god.
Isaac Allen Burns:As you exit the office, you see that Byron is no longer there.
Rachel Baker:Can I have a quick conversation with Michelle, please?
Isaac Allen Burns:Of course. I'll be right back. She she motions for the other two of you
Joe Diametti:to Yeah. Kathy just kinda shrugs like, I mean, sure. And, yeah, us three head out, bro.
Rachel Baker:Yeah. Perfect. This will be quick.
Isaac Allen Burns:I see Michelle sighs really heavily and says, yes.
Rachel Baker:Is there a reason you assigned me to the most explosive people on your force?
Isaac Allen Burns:I guess I'm gonna be honest with you. Shit sucks right now. Yeah. We need all the help we can get and
Rachel Baker:I have almost gotten into three fist fights today because they cannot keep their shit to themselves.
Isaac Allen Burns:I'm gonna level with you. They're going through a lot. They were going through a lot when they came here, and I don't think that they fully processed things.
Rachel Baker:And you're still sending them out?
Isaac Allen Burns:I have no other choice. Also, if they aren't working, I'm afraid that they're going to do something reckless. And I don't think I need to tell you twice Yeah. That there are a lot of eyes on Algenabai right now.
Rachel Baker:So I'm a babysitter. This is all babysitting.
Isaac Allen Burns:Yeah. Think of yourself as a mediator right now. They're very competent. They're very great. Please just keep try and keep it cool if you can.
Rachel Baker:I'm not the problem here.
Isaac Allen Burns:I know. But they need one of you to stay cool. I'm hoping you and Willow can mellow them out a little bit for now.
Hollie Baker:Okay.
Isaac Allen Burns:I think it'll be easier once this trial shit is done.
Rachel Baker:I would love a stipend.
Isaac Allen Burns:I'll tell you this much. Once this trial next week gets finished and no one has been arrested or gotten killed, I will give you a full bag of gold.
Rachel Baker:I think I deserve that. Yes. Okay. Thank you. And I do want some merch.
Isaac Allen Burns:Yeah. I'm working on it.
Hollie Baker:I think as they exited the room He's
Isaac Allen Burns:gonna come back up.
Hollie Baker:Willow would've turned to Cappy. I I'm I didn't didn't mean to throw you under the bus. I'm sorry. I
Rachel Baker:Who threw who under a bus?
Hollie Baker:I was in the conversation with Michelle, but it's okay. How how did your conversation with Michelle go? Are you okay?
Rachel Baker:We're still stuck with peacekeepers. I was hoping to maybe not be.
Rowan Collins:Pistachio comes down. They are in a much more acceptable outfit, which is just like their overalls and like a shirt that can get ruined. And they are like, okay, I'm ready. Ready to go, guys. Splunking.
Joe Diametti:Let's go.
Rachel Baker:Splunking. You look entirely different.
Rowan Collins:Oh, well, yeah, this is my outfits that I keep here.
Joe Diametti:River caves.
Rowan Collins:Let's go.
Isaac Allen Burns:You head on out towards the river caves. You leave El Genibi proper and head downstream of Proud River where maybe just a hop, skip, and a jump away, you see along the banks of the Proud River are sometimes little openings in the sides of the caves. At low tide they become visible and many people will say that you know old timey pirates or privateers would hide out in these caves or put some of their ill gotten or fair gotten goods. Some say that monsters would carve paths through the rivers. Some say that even Sage himself would lay his head down in these little caves and sleep his little head.
Isaac Allen Burns:But for now, at low tide, you find yourselves in front of this cave, a light sloping stone walk down the edge of the banks to where this cave is. You're currently standing in front of this cave, and I want one person to give me a detail. Rachel. As you step into the cave, give me the general description of what the interior of this cave looks like. Is it dull and gray?
Isaac Allen Burns:Are there strange minerals that cast a scintillating reflection of water? What are we looking at?
Rachel Baker:I think there would be a little bit of bioluminescence in just in this cave.
Rowan Collins:Yeah.
Rachel Baker:There are tides, but the cave slopes enough that water will stay here, and there are things that have grown in that water.
Isaac Allen Burns:Yeah. You're looking there is bioluminescence for sure on the edges of this, some moss some moss that close. I'll also say there's some bioluminescence in the water itself. Yeah. I'll say that there are some eels that are inside the water.
Isaac Allen Burns:Great. And you know what? That's such a cool idea too. You're looking, and as it kinda further slopes in, you see the water gets maybe about waist deep, and the cave kinda shrinks to a point where there's a little opening that one could walk through. Waist deep water, though.
Isaac Allen Burns:And there are eels in the water moving around, glowing. Uh-oh. So as you're standing there in that cave, you see that there's a little passageway. What what would you
Rowan Collins:like to do? Oh, well, I guess. Alright, guys.
Rachel Baker:The mission was cave monsters. So
Joe Diametti:Are these eels the monsters?
Rachel Baker:I they're not. They look pretty
Rowan Collins:They're like eel eels, not eel gators. So I think they're probably fine.
Rachel Baker:If we had your fishnets, we could just walk through this.
Rowan Collins:Oh my gosh. I have
Isaac Allen Burns:a feeling that pistachios never gonna live down to fishnets. Poor pistachio.
Hollie Baker:Our disavow people has very firm ideas of exactly what fishnets are for.
Isaac Allen Burns:But, yeah, you're looking this cave once again. To go deeper into the cave, you have to get into the water. It's about waist deep. Okay. That's where the passage is, and there are eels in the water.
Isaac Allen Burns:Pistachio, go somewhere.
Rowan Collins:Just go somewhere right now.
Isaac Allen Burns:For me
Rachel Baker:to climb around the cave? Yeah.
Isaac Allen Burns:You know, there is some bioluminescent moss on it you could potentially grab onto. Can
Rachel Baker:I try?
Isaac Allen Burns:Yeah. You can certainly try. Give me I'm gonna say, in this case, an agility check.
Joe Diametti:While Argus is doing that. Pistachio, you've got overalls. I just don't wanna get the jacket.
Rowan Collins:Do you want me to get you bus you over with a, like, a little dodo equivalent of a boat or, like, some sort of I've got, like, a shark. I've got, like, a dodo dolphin, maybe, like, a Dodo turtle, like, a giant turtle.
Joe Diametti:Giant turtle would be really cool. Yeah. Yeah.
Rowan Collins:Yeah. Okay. Which role? I crit.
Rachel Baker:And I had advantage because I'm a Simia, but I don't even need it.
Isaac Allen Burns:Oh, incredible.
Rachel Baker:Two tens.
Isaac Allen Burns:Yeah. So this bioluminescent moss, it's like Spanish moss. It hangs down. Right? Very easily grabbable.
Isaac Allen Burns:We love grabbing it. You're so easily able to just sort of go fully upside down.
Rachel Baker:Guys, this isn't hard.
Isaac Allen Burns:You say as you go deep into the
Rowan Collins:cave. Okay.
Rachel Baker:This isn't too bad.
Joe Diametti:Okay. Bye, Argus.
Rachel Baker:I'm not going anywhere. I'm just right here.
Isaac Allen Burns:You're at the entrance way, upside down, looking at them.
Rachel Baker:I'm gonna wave some of the glowing moss at them.
Joe Diametti:Show off.
Rowan Collins:Wow. And Pistachio will transform using their beast form into a Dodo turtle.
Isaac Allen Burns:Oh, a
Rowan Collins:giant tortoise. A giant tortoise.
Isaac Allen Burns:A giant tortoise. You
Rowan Collins:will say is the aquatic scout.
Isaac Allen Burns:Okay. You turn into aquatic scout. And as always, I'm so curious. What's a what's a turtle? What's a dodo?
Isaac Allen Burns:Tell us about this toad
Rowan Collins:with turtles. The shell is a 100% turtle. It's a giant mosaic of different colors that if you look at it close enough, it looks like little feather patterns that are coming through. Oh, yeah.
Joe Diametti:But it's Mostly orange.
Rowan Collins:But it's mostly orange and And mostly a then that head peering up out of it is close to a snapping turtle, except that it's a Dodo head. And then there are little flippers, and they are kind of feathered but sleek like an otter's is. Oh. So they have turned into this, and I am marking a stress in which to do so.
Hollie Baker:Pistachio, this is amazing. Oh. You can just do this all the time?
Rowan Collins:Yeah, well, not all the time. It can eventually, you know, takes wear and tear off my body, but I can do this a couple times a day.
Rachel Baker:Wow. It's not very accurate.
Rowan Collins:Well, so I
Isaac Allen Burns:Argus has to get in there, Make make sure everybody knows. It's not accurate.
Hollie Baker:No, no, he is.
Rowan Collins:Argus, Argus, I have subject called creativity. Thank you.
Rachel Baker:What's that supposed to mean?
Rowan Collins:It means it's supposed to be a little bit of my own flair.
Joe Diametti:Argus, have you ever seen a
Rachel Baker:dodo? I've seen a turtle.
Rowan Collins:Well, it's not supposed to be just a turtle, it's a dodo turtle. Anyway, get on my shelf.
Rachel Baker:Those don't exist.
Joe Diametti:Yeah, so, yeah, I guess we'll get on. Yep. Willow and I will get on the Dodo Turtle.
Isaac Allen Burns:Yep. Very good. You roll up onto the turtle. Yep. And you start making your way through the cavern.
Isaac Allen Burns:And, you know, you just
Rowan Collins:As as we're doing this, because there you even mentioned that there are eels. Can I go ahead and use nature's tongue to talk to the eels? Sure. So I would make a spellcasting instinct roll to talk to them. On a success, they'll give me the information that they know on the roll.
Rowan Collins:With beer, it might be limited. But they're just gonna go 19.
Isaac Allen Burns:Oh.
Hollie Baker:Very nice.
Isaac Allen Burns:Give yourself a hope.
Rowan Collins:I'm gonna give myself Oh. There you go. Excuse me. Coming through, Mr. Eel missus eel mixed eels.
Rowan Collins:We're coming through. Please don't zap me while we're coming through. I'm a I'm a little I'm a little guy.
Isaac Allen Burns:You know, you rolled you rolled with help. And so, you know, so the spell works because you did succeed and you rolled with hope. So that tells me that you will understand them and they will say something useful. Yay. You hear a bunch of voices just almost in strange unison.
Isaac Allen Burns:That's guard the door. Guard the door. Guard the door. Guard the opening. Guard the opening.
Isaac Allen Burns:Guard the opening. And then they all say, food.
Rowan Collins:Not me. Not me. Not me. I'm not food.
Isaac Allen Burns:Alright. I'm gonna have to spend a fear on this one. Was hoping you'd roll
Rowan Collins:with it. No. Okay.
Isaac Allen Burns:But I am gonna spend a fear, which I can do as GM, to have them attack you.
Rowan Collins:No. No. No. No. No.
Rowan Collins:No.
Isaac Allen Burns:Does an eight beat your evasion?
Rowan Collins:No. Good foot. Technically.
Isaac Allen Burns:Technically, that was their turn, and I can't spotlight that.
Rowan Collins:Guys, Guys. Guys. Guys. The eels
Isaac Allen Burns:are But I'm DM. I'm spending another four. They're gonna bite you again. Wait. Wait.
Isaac Allen Burns:Wait.
Rachel Baker:Wait. Watch this happen.
Isaac Allen Burns:Natural 20. No. Oh,
Rowan Collins:no. Oh, no.
Isaac Allen Burns:Hey, gang. It's me, Isaac Allen Burns, here to tell you about criticals. So if you're not aware, criticals in Daggerheart work like brutal criticals where instead of rolling twice the dice or simply doubling what I roll, I'm going to take the maximum possible result on the dice, which in this case is a 16. And I'm gonna add it to whatever I roll, which in this case is a six. So that is 22 physical damage to you, Pistachio.
Rowan Collins:I'm going to use a armor slot to make that only minor damage, so I don't pop out of beast form.
Isaac Allen Burns:Mhmm. I can also tell you, this is very fun. This is actually well, actually, no. Never mind. I did not say I was using their paralyzing shock action.
Rowan Collins:Great.
Isaac Allen Burns:I said they were attacking. So in this case, not all of you get shocked. So in this case and that's not me. Hey. You gotta take your dubs, take your l sometimes as GM.
Isaac Allen Burns:So you you get bit real bad.
Rowan Collins:Ow. Ow.
Isaac Allen Burns:Ow. They bite you real bad.
Hollie Baker:Are okay? Ow.
Rowan Collins:They are hurting. Ow.
Joe Diametti:They are
Isaac Allen Burns:hurting. Okay. Okay. Okay.
Joe Diametti:Cappy's gonna Cappy's going to take his two metal pieces out from his waist and put them together with the
Isaac Allen Burns:Scarlet fever?
Joe Diametti:Scarlet fever. Scarlet Yeah. In in the middle of it, and then the war scythe pops out. Oh. You know?
Joe Diametti:And then I'm going to take a swipe with my war scythe
Rowan Collins:Oh, totally.
Isaac Allen Burns:Eels. Swipe them. Swipe away.
Hollie Baker:Nice.
Isaac Allen Burns:They're on the surface, so I'm gonna say there's no disadvantage here because they're biting your turtle friends, so they're pretty rare. They're swarming.
Rowan Collins:Not food.
Isaac Allen Burns:Like a bunch of eels. You ever seen a bunch of eels swarm? Well, now you have. Now Pistachio has.
Rowan Collins:Not food.
Isaac Allen Burns:And you know what? Now is a good time as any to explain how attacking works. Weapons hey. Hey. It's me, your GM Isaac Allen Burns, here to tell you about weapons.
Isaac Allen Burns:Weapons and other various things you can hold in your hands to commit violence on people have various traits about them. One of them is an ability, be it knowledge or strength or finesse. When you would like to take an attack action first, will make a duality dice roll and you will add your proper trait to that whether that is agility or presence or instinct You can if you think it does apply use an experience on attack rolls as well You will add up those totals and let me know what you hit and we will see if that beats the difficulty of these electric eels
Joe Diametti:Alright. Let's see here. 19 with fear.
Isaac Allen Burns:Oh, Very exciting. A 19 will beat their difficulty though.
Joe Diametti:Let's go.
Isaac Allen Burns:These are not very difficult, but they are tier two. Oh, go ahead. What's your role? 15. 15?
Isaac Allen Burns:What's really fun, gang, is that these are it's very sad. What's fun is that this is a horde enemy, which means that it works a little different. So as you deal damage, there are less and less of them. In this case, you watch as just a full eight of these eels get just sashimi'd on the edge of your scythe.
Joe Diametti:I'm, like, standing on the turtle like one of those people that guide the gondolas. Yes. Yes. And I'm just I just take my war scythe and just scoop it and just scoop them up, basically.
Isaac Allen Burns:That was some major damage to these eels. Nice. But you rolled with fear, so they're gonna attack again. And this time, they're gonna use their paralyzing shock attack.
Rowan Collins:Oh, There
Hollie Baker:you go. There it is.
Isaac Allen Burns:The attack against all targets within close range. In this case, this is just gonna be one roll, and we're gonna see whose difficulty it beats. This is a 19 beat anyone's evasion. So in this case, I as the GM, my paralyzing shocker gets a mark of stress to make that attack and each target that marks HP, I get a fear. My roll damage?
Isaac Allen Burns:Four damage.
Rowan Collins:Whoo. I'm taking armor slot. Are you
Isaac Allen Burns:sure you wanna take an armor slot, though?
Rowan Collins:No. Get
Isaac Allen Burns:hit. Get hit. I'm gonna
Joe Diametti:take an armor slot just cause you want it a little too bad.
Rowan Collins:I did.
Hollie Baker:You got ahead of yourself there?
Isaac Allen Burns:I was so excited to gain three fear.
Hollie Baker:You gave up your hand.
Isaac Allen Burns:And that's when we hey. You know, we're all it's it's give and take,
Hollie Baker:again. And there are natural consequences.
Isaac Allen Burns:Well, in this case, that was their turn, it's back to y'all. Argus, you're hanging upside down. What's your gun?
Rachel Baker:I'm gonna throw a rope, a soft of rope Yay.
Isaac Allen Burns:To help
Rachel Baker:pull you through the water faster. Okay. Nice. Just in case you do
Isaac Allen Burns:get paralyzed. Okay. Great.
Hollie Baker:You're tossing
Rachel Baker:it to me? Yes. Awesome. Toss it to Willow.
Isaac Allen Burns:So let's make a we're gonna say a finagility check.
Rowan Collins:Yeah.
Isaac Allen Burns:We're making agility check. This is if you are successfully able to get the rope over to them, and they will have an easier time making their way through these events.
Rachel Baker:Is that agility?
Isaac Allen Burns:It's agility. Yeah. Do you have any experiences that can help you?
Rachel Baker:You better hold on tight, spider monkey.
Rowan Collins:I love that one. I love
Isaac Allen Burns:it so much. Like a spray of cold water to the face each time. You very good. So go ahead and spend a hope to add that experience to your role, and tell me what your total is.
Rachel Baker:A 10 with fear.
Isaac Allen Burns:K. Well, a 10 does succeed, thankfully. Oh. But a fear oh, thanks, friend. You this rope sails through the air.
Hollie Baker:Willow will catch it. Okay. And then, Pistachio, I'm gonna hold on to the back of your shell. Okay. We're gonna use this as leverage to pull you a little faster through the water.
Isaac Allen Burns:An eel, a sole eel, looks up and sees what looks like an eel flying through the air. Oh. And it leaps up and sees you, Willow,
Rachel Baker:is gonna
Isaac Allen Burns:bite at you.
Rowan Collins:Because I
Isaac Allen Burns:you rolled with Fierce, so it's my turn now. Yep. That's a 18 hit you. Oh my god. I'm rolling so hard.
Isaac Allen Burns:I don't wanna bother. That is six damage to you.
Hollie Baker:Cool. I'm gonna mark another armor slot.
Isaac Allen Burns:That's all I can do, though.
Hollie Baker:Yeah. That's alright.
Rowan Collins:There's just a
Hollie Baker:little ping off the side of my wheel.
Rowan Collins:Yeah.
Joe Diametti:How far are we to the edge now that we have a You're
Isaac Allen Burns:in close range to
Rowan Collins:the edge. Can I have advantage on swim jacks? Can I swim really, really fast to see You
Isaac Allen Burns:sure can?
Rowan Collins:Yeah. We can
Joe Diametti:get better? Miss Dodo, Chile.
Rowan Collins:Board. I got it.
Isaac Allen Burns:Normally, within close range, you wouldn't have to make a check, but in this case, because you are within a hole, Dodo, I'm gonna say that you do have the check. However, you will have advantage because of the rope. You said you already have advantage on swim checks because you're turtle form?
Rowan Collins:Yes.
Isaac Allen Burns:So in this case, if we have multiple sources, the way I am choosing to rule it is, go ahead and roll your advantage check on your side. Rachel and Holly, you're both holding the route, so I'll let you decide who rolls the d six on your end. You're gonna take the max on the value
Rowan Collins:of the d sixes.
Rachel Baker:I think You do need about care more that you keep your chair Yeah. Firmly on the
Joe Diametti:turtle. Argos is pulling her.
Hollie Baker:Yeah. I'm just holding both So
Rachel Baker:I just roll a Roll
Isaac Allen Burns:a d six.
Rachel Baker:Yeah. D six. Okay.
Rowan Collins:Nice. That was more.
Joe Diametti:Five knives.
Rowan Collins:Yay. Okay. So that is going to be a 20 with
Isaac Allen Burns:It's a deep cut. They say guard the door. Yeah.
Rachel Baker:Here we are heading right to the door, everyone.
Isaac Allen Burns:Shanked through, and the three of you fly in to the other cavern, which
Joe Diametti:I fly off pistachio as, like, it hits as pistachio hits the base of the
Rachel Baker:Oh, no.
Joe Diametti:Surface, and I just kinda tumble a little bit.
Isaac Allen Burns:I'm alright.
Rowan Collins:As pistachio beaches, they kind of also roll off into their own, like, fawn form and just to go, ow. Ow. That sucked.
Rachel Baker:Alright. Argus is gonna pop
Isaac Allen Burns:his head down. Okay. Upside down. Yes.
Rachel Baker:Hey. Are we fine?
Rowan Collins:Yeah. We're great.
Isaac Allen Burns:We're good.
Joe Diametti:Appreciate the assist there, Argy.
Rachel Baker:This Oh. Looks like a door.
Rowan Collins:Yeah. They said they were guarding the door.
Rachel Baker:This is a door.
Rowan Collins:Okay. Great. This is what they're guarding.
Joe Diametti:Good work, team. Kappy puts his thumb up weekly.
Isaac Allen Burns:You look inside this cavern. Still some bioluminescence as some moss hangs down. You see almost like little markings, like ruts coming from the opening that you're at to the other side of the cavern as though people kinda moving things back and forth through this. You're in this cavern. It echoes.
Isaac Allen Burns:Every time your voice goes, it echoes a lot. Wouldn't that be so cool if every time you talk, there's, like, an echo effect? That would be crazy.
Joe Diametti:He's sad. Into the abyss. Guys, do these look like monster tracks to anyone here?
Rachel Baker:They do from up here.
Joe Diametti:Would I recognize these tracks?
Isaac Allen Burns:Also, it's like a cart.
Rachel Baker:Something got dragged.
Isaac Allen Burns:They've been dragged for a while. The rats are worn into the ground.
Joe Diametti:Alright. So do we just
Rowan Collins:Keep going? I guess so.
Isaac Allen Burns:As you follow the tracks through the flat cave, the edges of this cavern, as they stretch out, you see some discoloration close to the base of the wall, almost as though the sense that water must fill up this chamber at high tide. The river behind you is pretty loud. It's a river after all. And the further in you go, the sound of that roar begins to fade away and is replaced with a new sound, a lilting melody that travels through the air, echoing off the walls the closer you get. You see that the tracks lead you to another little cavern, kinda goes deeper in, and there is a turn in it, so you can't quite see what's in the other room.
Isaac Allen Burns:It's slightly curved there. You see a couple of barrels and boxes on the edges of this little interstitial cavern that you would about to be walking through, and it looks like there's some light refracting on inside. You guys hear that?
Rowan Collins:Is somebody singing?
Joe Diametti:It's beautiful, right?
Hollie Baker:Is it a a melody that any of us would recognize?
Isaac Allen Burns:No. It just sounds like a like a beautiful voice traveling.
Joe Diametti:Cappy just is blind, like, a thousand yard stare walking further into.
Isaac Allen Burns:Cappy, you're moving towards the cavern, and you are going in. And as you turn a corner, we're gonna have to find out what you sees next time on Dodo born. Thank you so much for listening. I can't wait to find out what kind of monstrosity is waiting for them This kills me. The cavern.
