James Dooley: How to rank ghost.io articles in Google search results. Today I'm joined with Jesper Nissen who uses ghost.io a lot. I see him ranking it left, right, and center throughout Google search results. So, we're going to jump straight in. Jesper, how important in your stack is ghost.io?

Jesper Nissen: Ghost.io is the most important property of all right after the most important social media profiles, of course. So, it's ghost.io is a I just discovered it a couple of months ago, but it's a blogging platform similar to Substack, I would say. Similar to Substack for those of you that know that. So, Ghost is uh special because uh it's one of the only platforms that I use that it's actually paid, so it's not free, so that's just something to consider. But, I think that actually also explains the power of the Ghost platform because if you remember some months ago uh the uh uh what was the name of the platform that we launched that it we couldn't rank instantly?

James Dooley: Big. Big.

Jesper Nissen: Yeah, the that platform. That launched a couple of months ago, and I also used it for parasite issue because it was just ranking instantly. The problem with the the strategy that they had was that it was just actually free. And everybody could post about everything, and they did have they didn't have any filters or any moderators or anything. They just then they added that, but then they had the they then they had to close. But, Ghost is managing that by having paid subscriptions. I think that the cheapest is $14 or $15 per month or something like that. And I have the 39 the the next level in order to get the API for for Me Poster and I think that strategy is brilliant because what that means is that you're keeping all of the spam bros away. All of the guys that want to post for free, they want the parasite power. They're all gone now because it's paid. And I mean $15 is nothing. And when you're looking at when I'm making my experiments on these long-tail keywords and the the the local SEO keywords, I'm seeing that Ghost is outranking all of the other guys, all of the Weebly, the WordPress, the Blogspots, the YouTube community posts. It's outranking all of them with the exception with the only exception being LinkedIn, Facebook, and X. And I'm making

James Dooley: Are you doing anything different on ghost.io to the others? Like are longer articles or anything like

Jesper Nissen: I am using a slightly longer and more unique variant of Ghost because I do see that and I'm actually taking care to do that specifically on Ghost because I do see that if I make a unique article on Ghost, it will index extremely fast within 2 minutes and it will also rank. And I also use a unique image on Ghost because Ghost is special in the with regards to image SEO. Because when you upload upload an article to Ghost, you can add this featured image and this featured image will actually rank in image search for the for the same keyword that you that you use as the title in the in the article, the Ghost article. So, this is just I think this is just super that I discovered this because just super super awesome tool that we have now with Ghost.

James Dooley: And And did you say that this is integrated into So Me Poster?

Jesper Nissen: It is integrated into So Me Poster and it is the the way that they handle their API is that you cannot get the API key for the cheapest subscription level they have. So, they have three or four levels, something like that. So, it's the second cheapest that you need to get, but it is integrated into Social Poster. So, that just makes it super easy.

James Dooley: And if it is so good, how many times do you post this? Once a day or do you might sometimes do you post twice or even three

Jesper Nissen: I post one, two, three times per day. Yeah, but it's not all the URLs I send to the indexing service. I only take the time to copy the URL and send it to Prime Indexer for something that I actually want to rank for. So, yeah.

James Dooley: Yeah. And then with regards to some of the Web 2.0 properties like Blogspot and WordPress and Tumblr, you're using that as a tier two platform to power up your social media platforms. Is it a slightly different strategy then or do you still on the ghost.io, would you still link up to the social platforms or not?

Jesper Nissen: It again, like the other Web 2.0 properties, it depends on on the use case. If I have a keyword that I desperately want to go after and rank for, then yes, I would do what you just said. I would post in two steps. I would post step one, post to the social media platforms like uh Facebook, LinkedIn, X, and all of these guys. And then I would grab the URLs, write a unique and slightly longer article on Ghost and insert the URLs as backlinks. Because when this indexes, it will then act as a tier two backlink to all the social media posts.

James Dooley: Yeah, for sure. So, would you say with regards to ghost.io, if someone was only going to choose one Web 2.0 property, would you have ghost.io as being top? I know it's premium and you don't need to pay. You'd have that being the number one.

Jesper Nissen: Totally number one. Totally number one. And people ask me, "Well, well, what if I have more than one brand? Well, in the case of myself, I can only say that I don't want to pay uh, you know, extra money for anything. So, what I would do, I would recommend you that if you're doing roofing and you're managing different clients, I would say, sign up for Ghost for one account that handles all of the roofing roofing posts, something like that. So, you can collect and gather all of the same same posts same type of posts into the same platform.

James Dooley: Yeah, so someone like me, instead of having like a James do like ghost.io and a fat rank pro ghost.io and a pro SEO ghost.io, I could just do one for lead generation.

Jesper Nissen: Yeah.

James Dooley: And then post all the different ones on there cuz all three platforms generally are doing lead generation services.

Jesper Nissen: Yeah.

James Dooley: That's legendary. Well, Jesper, it's been an absolute pleasure and hope you like the episode on how to rank ghost.io posts in Google search results. Make sure you check out the link in the description. There's a lot of other web 2.0 properties, but also how Jesper is ranking all different social media platforms and being able to post out on these using his Social Media Poster tool. Jesper, it's been an absolute pleasure.

Jesper Nissen: Take care.
