The Viktor Wilt Show daily recap! If you miss the show weekdays from 6A-10A MST, you've come to the right place.
Well,
Speaker 1: here we are. What is it? Wednesday? Yay for Wednesday. At least it ain't Monday or Tuesday. Good morning to you and welcome to the show or good afternoon or whenever you're listening to this on demand.
I am Victor Wilt. And I'm barely rolling. Got decent sleep. I'm at that point right now where getting to sleep is a challenge. Usually no problem at all. Just crash right out.
Right now, however. Toss and turn and toss and turn. But then, of course, when it comes around to time to get up. I mean, I'm sleeping great.
I think that's how it goes for most people. And I don't know how your day went yesterday. Mine was decent. Not too bad. Went out to eat.
It was it was pretty good. Then I got home, and at some point, I guess it was before we went out to eat. I was out in my uh garage looking for some markers.
Did not succeed in finding them, but looking around my garage got me all stressed out. I'm like, oh, I gotta get this place cleaned out before winter. It's chilly this morning.
And on my way here, I was like, oh, maybe I should have brought a hoodie. I guess summer's over. We definitely got a summer this year, though. I'll take what we got right now over the uh scorching heat. That's for sure. But yeah, it's like 40 degrees outside or something right now.
So maybe put on a jacket before you leave. And then, you know, so I'm looking at my garage and I'm like, uh, this place is a dump, I gotta clean it up. The rest of my house is you know a concern as well. And first thing I see when I open the internet, people who enter strangers' homes for a living, repair tags, cleaners, movers, realtors.
What's the quiet giveaway? The things behind the scenes are worse than they look. And the verse first thing they talk about is a dirty house. Like, hey, I'm busy, alright. No, I mean, I'm sure it would have been a a little more of a motivated to clean recently. If uh the the booze had been cut out a little bit earlier, but hey, day five, people moving ahead. Uh a lot of things that when it comes to a dirty house, I think also deal with uh you know, maybe a little bit of depression, that kind of stuff. Because sometimes for me to get motivated, like, okay, I gotta get out of bed and go to work. That can be a tough morning. That can be a tough morning, depending on the day. I don't know how many times I hit snooze this morning, but it was only Becca's alarm that got me out of bed.
All right, well, I'm gonna work on cleaning up the house. This seems like it'd be a dark thread. What are things people see to make you know things are worse behind the scenes, blood all over the walls, but that's when you book it as a uh you know, dishwasher, a technician. Let's see, locks on the outside doors of the house. Yeah, that's scary. If you ever see that, run.
Locks on the outside. If you're a firefighter and you see that, because that's what the guy said he was a firefighter. Um you should call the authorities. If there are locks on the doors outside of the house, there's a there's a dungeon somewhere in that home.
Guaranteed. All right, you need to start but knocking on walls and looking for the hollow panels, things like that. Okay, then yeah, that's bad.
All right, let's see. This person says a tradesman came to my house and noticed a broken door frame, and it was caused by my abusive ex who used to slam the door in anger. Tradesman looked me in the eye and asked if I was okay. Well, at least I ain't got any broken doors. I think I I've repaired anything that uh somebody throwing a tantrum has broken in my house. Uh, nothing like uh having to patch holes and this and that because somebody throws a tantrum. That's annoying. Let's see here.
I'm I'm trying to like scan these uh but before I read them because some of these are really dark. Homes with children that are totally spotless and quiet. Reminds me of my childhood where I only felt comfortable in my room playing with my stuffed animals. See what I'm talking about?
This thing's getting dark. Yeah, no, I think normal kids are uh loud and they make a mess. Even when you tell them clean up the mess, they kids are just messy. Alright, downstairs is a spotless museum curated style style beautiful, but the upstairs bedrooms and bathrooms are trashed. Well, again, you you gotta tackle one room at a time.
That's how I've been trying to do it. Maybe I need to sell my house and move into something smaller. Less to clean. Alright, I'm I'm closing this thread.
It's getting me stressed out about my house. Too early for that kind of crap. Alright. I did not pound coffee before I left the house, so I better do that. And I'll be back in a minute with more stuff. Alright, I turned the mic off because I didn't want to force you to sit there and listen to me slurp the coffee down.
Oh, I guess uh I could have just drank it on air. Anyway, what's up, my people? How's it going? Hope that Wednesday's good so far.
All Alright. Alright, here's a thread I need. Maybe I can figure out how to get some money. Ugh money really sucks.
I'm sure you know that right now. It's times are tough. Ugh, I had to pull out my apps yesterday and look at my credit card bills. Oh, I hate that.
Don't ever do that when you have anxiety. Took me three days. Three days to just look at it. So I need to get rich. Uh overnight.
What do we gotta do? Alright, this person says I worked for a big company that acquired a startup software business in a cash deal. The business had struggled in its early days, so the lawn care guy took payments in stock options. We had to find him to give him a check for a life-changing amount of money. That's gotta be a rough one. You're like, all right, I need some work. Times are tough.
And they're like, well, give you some stock options if you'll mow the lawn. All Alright. I guess it's better than nothing. Take the stock options. You never know what's gonna blow up. Alright, nobody's been offering me any stocks, so I guess uh no good to go there.
Let's see. A colleague of my dad said he found something weird in the books, so he went to his manager to report it. A few hours later, my dad goes to look for him, and the guy is gone. Manager said he left a company, which is very rare to happen, considering how labor rights work in the Netherlands, but the guy has never heard from again.
Anyway, 15 years later, my dad's retired, and they have some reunion of one of his old sports teams, and he sees the ex-colleague there. They start talking, then the guy mentions he found a massive case of fraud, and they basically paid him off to keep quiet. He got a seven-figure bonus.
Jeez, and they transferred him to one of their offices in the Dutch Caribbean where he only had to check in once a month to pick up his paycheck until he retired. Where are the books at around here? We got anybody doing any weasley stuff? Eh. Report that stuff.
Being a snitch pays off. Alright, well, I don't have access to the books. Let's see. This guy says I had a coworker that was mildly popular that was a mildly popular video game streamer that would take Dogecoin to do stupid stuff in video games. He felt it was a low-cost risk for his viewers and made him a couple bucks extra each stream. Then Dogecoin went from a fraction of a cent to 50 cents, and he held around 5 million coins over a three-year period of taking 500 to 1,000 coins per viewer interaction.
Dude sold it all, paid off his house, and just left work. I tell you, man, these crypto things, they sure all seem like one big scam to me. Don't they? Yeah. A pump and dump scam. You ever seen the wolf of Wall Street? It's kind of amazing to me. In the age we're in, the amount of potentially very corrupt uh ways to make money that are perfectly acceptable.
Like, you got all these betting markets now where you can bet on anything, and mysteriously, you know, people seem to just magically guess these big political events, like down to you know the hour they're gonna happen and they win all this money. Hmm. No, there's no insider trading going on there. No, there's never been any uh pump and dump with uh any type of cryptocurrency. Jeez.
Alright, well, so far none of these are working out for me. A friend decided to sell anime themed masks on Etsy at the start of the COVID pandemic and it blew up. Can we have another pandemic so I can make some masks?
Just kidding, everybody. Yeah, I think if we had another pandemic. Like if we ever have a pandemic that actually like is say, like the stand, where if if you get the the sickness, you're dead. If we ever have another pandemic, at least half the planet would be wiped out after the last one because people got so crazy with uh you know the protocols and such. People just aren't gonna listen.
They could be like, no, it's like the stand, you're gonna die. I don't believe it. I'm going. Yeah.
We're doomed if we have another pandemic. Alright, let's see. Guy won the lottery.
I was expecting one of those to show up. Yeah, you gotta play to win, though, and the odds you're you got a better chance of getting struck by lightning, so might as well not do it. Oh, this person's lucky. They worked for a wealthy family that left her a generous inheritance. Wouldn't it be nice if uh you know your boss was really rich and then they just left you a bunch of money? You know, if they had just tons of dough, and they're like, well, you worked for my company, I'll hook you up pretty fat.
I don't think most families do that, they keep it in the bloodline. Yeah. Let's see, this guy was a good salesman. Uh blah blah blah. This is Too long. Uh I'm not gonna read all that. Okay. You know how I mentioned I'm gonna take a drink of coffee at the beginning of this break. I'm going to pound this entire cup of coffee before the next time I yap.
Because clearly my brain is not working good enough yet. There you go, Royal Bliss for you. Don't say we don't support you guys. No, they've never said that. I did get into a little bit of an argument once with uh Royal Bliss on air. You remember when Royal Okay, I guess. No, I've only had one argument, and I'd say it was more of a debate with the band themselves.
I did have a uh argument with their manager once. Alright, let's travel back in time. Where's my back to the future music here? Let's talk uh local music scene history with Royal Bliss and Dr. Seuss's Dead, one of my bands that people have asked, will you ever do a Dr. Seuss reunion? The answer is no.
Sorry, Dr. Seuss is dead fans. We could not do it without Joe. R.I.P. to Joe Hamilton. It just couldn't be done.
We'd need him on stage with his uh antics, his guitar feedback, his chaos. You know, if it just wouldn't be the same. So anyway.
We'll start with argue the argument I had with their manager. This is going way back in time. To I don't know, late 90s, maybe early 2000s. We're at this festival in uh Twin Falls. I don't know if this place is around anymore, but it was called Cruisers, and they held a local local music battle of the bands that was headlined by Royal Bliss. Now, at the time, Royal Bliss to me was just another local band, but I was fine with them headlining because okay, they're from Salt Lake.
They're not really East Idaho, you know, or Central Idaho local. Whatever. So we're at this battle of the bands, and I hate Battle of the Bands.
I've talked about it many times over the years. I think Battle of the Bands are terrible. They generally charge the bands to get into play, which bands should never have to pay to play under any circumstance, as far as I'm concerned. I mean, okay, I guess if you're buying onto a tour with a giant band, that might get you some actual exposure around the country. But if you pay to play a show in your local town, that is stupid, okay? You can, I guarantee, just go set up in a park and play.
Alright, you can play for free, and you can actually get paid to play if you, you know build up your name a bit or talk to the right people, or sell some tickets. But anyway, sort of this battle of the bands, and I'm already mad that we're in a battle of the bands, because a battle of the bands is very subjective. You've got judges, or you've got voting. So basically, whoever shows up with the most fans will win if it's a voting situation. Or you've got a panel of judges who are all going to have very different musical taste. And they may not be basing their decisions on what makes the best band on like talent, tightness, this and that.
They might just be like, oh, you know, I like ska music or whatever. So I've never been to a battle of the bands that I felt like the judging was was fair based on my you know musical knowledge and being a musician. And I was a judge in a battle of the bands once, and it was one of the worst things I ever had to do.
Never wanted to do it again. Because as a judge, every band except one band is going to hate you at the end of the day. And you may not have even, you know, picked the winner that everybody else did. So, which was the case.
My judging was very different from the other judges. So you walk away with most of the local music scene hating you. And that goes for all the bands that are playing in regard to each other as well. You could be playing a battle of the bands with your very best friends. If they place better than you, there's gonna be a little bit of you know, resentment floating around in there.
So back to this. We're we're at this battle of the bands in Twin Falls, and I have like the flu. I'm I'm really sick. I didn't even want to play the show, but my bandmates are all hey, it's a big show. We could win prizes. We've never played Twin Falls, even though I think we had.
I don't know. But anyway, they convinced me to play. I'm not in the mood to play. We did probably a not great set, and we uh obviously didn't win because we're a metal band. Metal bands like never win the battle of the bands. I saw Pocapalooza, um, I don't know how many times it was a battle of the bands in Pocatello at ISU. Every single time that the band Neckbrace played, they should have won the Battle of the Bands. Only saw them win it one time.
There was a time, I mean, there was a show we played as the Reptilians at the Battle of the Bands, all instrumental music, and my like Ann point out at the beginning. It was a complete disaster of a set. We sucked as far as I was concerned. We took second place.
Yeah. Battle of the bands make no sense. Okay, back to Royal Bliss Battle of the Bands. After we get done with our set, and I'm in a bad mood.
I was like, all right, well, we're here. I might as well get some video footage. So I'm walking around with a camera, just kind of filming the quote backstage area, which was the area behind the stage because this is you know an outdoor thing at a bar.
All right. The backstage area wasn't like at the Mountain America Center with a bunch of dressing rooms. It's it's just an area, okay? And I'm walking around filming, and this guy walks up to me, and he's like, You can't film back here.
And I was like, why? We're playing the show. I just got done trying to get some footage for our band archives. And he's like, you can't film back here because Royal Bliss doesn't want bands filming back here. And I'm like, really?
Really? Go get them. I'm like, you have them come tell me I'm not gonna film back here because I don't know you. I don't know if you're really their manager. I have no clue who you are. Get away from me.
I'm not gonna stop filming. And then no one came and talked to me. So uh that was my one argument with someone in the Royal Bliss camp. Uh, but it wasn't anyone in the band. The only time I got into what I would call a debate with the band, uh was when they went country. You remember that? You remember when Royal Bliss went country?
They had that video on CMT. And so you know me. I jump on air. This is a band we've been playing for years. I still believe we were the first radio station that played them. Uh, but I went on air and was like, Royal Bliss betrayed the rock and rock and roll music scene. They win country, down with Royal Bliss.
Now, listen, this was years ago. Don't you be calling Neil and or Taylor or something and being like, hey, Victor's, you know, I'm not talking crap on the band. I those guys are great dudes.
We're friends, okay? So I'm on air and I'm ranting and raving about Royal Bliss going country. And all of a sudden the phones light up and it's Neil. Cause you listeners are a bunch of snitches. That's what you are. That's why I'm like, who's calling right now? All right.
Better be a member of Royal Bliss. Oh, they hung up. Let's try this line. K bear, you are live on the show. Keep that in mind. Who's this? Morning. What's up, Patrick? What's on your mind?
Speaker 2: Uh you talking about Royal Bliss and hearing the Royal Bliss song. The country song. Uh no, warning. Yeah, what about it? It just made me think back. Um at the end of Chron Apocalypse when we were able to come out and they did that concert. Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1: Good good dudes. They've been around here lots of times. Uh they were here uh a few weeks ago, as a matter of fact.
Speaker 2: So Yeah, and uh hearing uh downbeat silo with that female metal vocalist.
Speaker 1: Yeah, they were a good band. Um I I don't believe they're around anymore, but they were a good band. Oh, that's sad. Yeah. Well, anyway.
Speaker 2: Do you remember do you remember the second uh band I was playing that that day?
Speaker 1: Dude, Patrick, I can't remember yesterday.
Speaker 2: So no, I have no idea. I mean so many shows, I have no clue. I think I've seen every local band play with Royal Bliss because every local band has played with Royal Bliss.
You know, they've been there's no band from out of town that's been here more times than those guys, so I mean I've played with Royal Bliss with both of my bands, so yeah. All right, well, I gotta wrap up my uh my rant about country music. All right. All right, Patrick.
I'll talk to you soon. All right, buddy. Peace. All right, so anyway, one of you listeners uh we don't need scary music.
One of you listeners snitched on me, called up Neil, and was like, Victor's talking a bunch of crap about you on air. Which is sort of accurate. I did say they betrayed rock and roll.
Country music sucks. I I don't know. This was like a decade ago. And like I pointed out to Patrick, I I don't remember everything very well. But anyway, Neil calls me live on air, and we had a great discussion, and it went fine, and I was like, I'm sorry, Neil.
I just you know me, get out of hand sometimes, and we've been cool ever since. And thankfully they s you know, went back to doing some rock music, because come on now. Get out of here.
If you're gonna do some country music, you gotta at least do it like Sturgil Simpson or something. Uh, who's calling now? This better be on topic, I tell you what. K Bear, you were live on the show, keep that in mind. Who's this? This is John. John, what's up, dude?
Speaker 2: Hey, not too much. You know, I really couldn't stand Royal Bliss myself.
Speaker 1: Well, everybody has their own musical taste. I like the guys. Um, I think they're great dudes. I like hanging out with them every time they're here. No, we've never we've never had major problems. Uh, you know, like I said, the only time there was an issue where I got a little heated was with their supposed manager, uh, you know, who didn't want me to film in a uh dirty area behind a stage.
Speaker 2: For some reason you didn't get along all that well.
Speaker 1: But but that was just with the manager. Me and the guys in Royal Bliss get along fine, and the only time we had any discussion about their music was when they went country. You know, I got I got no issues with Royal Bliss.
Just so swear I swear, if somebody if I get a message from anybody in Royal Bliss saying Victor was talking crap on you today, I'm gonna figure out what listener it was, and you listeners, you're going down.
Speaker 2: I'm not gonna throw that one out here, but I was up there at the barn there at Delyn. I've got a Delyn. I I gave you that book. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah.
Okay. And I was up there in my barn, and I opened up both doors of my truck, and I cranked up some Ted Nigent. And the acoustics coming out of that barn are insane. And I was like, you know, I could set up a band in here, but I don't have no place for anybody to sit. Yeah. And watch it.
Speaker 1: Well, uh I I guess I don't have the solution, but it sounds like it'd be a cool spot for a an outdoor outdoor festival. Because you got a lot of space out there. Couldn't people like camp and stuff?
Speaker 2: Uh yeah, there's not much for bathroom facilities. So if you got like a bathroom in your camper, that'd be fine. Right. Right on.
Speaker 1: But yeah, you know, Royal Bliss, good good dudes. I you know, I I've just figured we were coming out of a
Speaker 2: Royal Bliss I mean there's a few other songs that I I'm okay with, you know. Every I mean, I'm a musician myself, too, so that's good. You know. I get I mean, I'll listen to Lauren's wealth sometimes.
Speaker 1: Well I listen to all kinds of stuff for sure. No, like I said, the only time I gave him any grief about their music was when they went country, and it wasn't like I cared that much. I'm just doing a stupid radio show.
Speaker 2: You know, I still got that uh big console stereo up you want to cut.
Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. You know what? Um after this break, uh well, wait, I've got your phone number in that book, so I need to get a hold of you. Maybe I can like try to get up there this weekend or something.
Speaker 2: Because I'm gonna check it out. It's getting in the hunting season, so I'm pretty busy in the hills right now.
Speaker 1: All right. Uh I will uh make
Speaker 2: my get a hold of me and we'll we'll you can come take a look at it and see if you want it or not. All right, man.
Speaker 1: Greatly appreciated. Okay. Yeah, uh how about a little Pantera? All right, I'll see if I can get some of that going in a minute.
Speaker 2: Yeah, no, I don't care which song. They all got they're all pretty good songs, so I'll just throw one out there. All right, man, you got it. Right on, cool. Thanks, Victor. Thanks, man. Peace.
Speaker 1: All right. So anyway, none of y'all snitches be you know, misconstruing my words. I don't want to take any grief from Royal Bliss today, just talking history, all right. It was just a historical discussion. I'm gonna drink more coffee. I'm starting to get kind of kind of fired up. I'm I'm not like mad or anything. I'm just like, well, kind of weird to feel half awake for once.
Okay, not very prepared for freak news, because today is the day of phones ringing relentlessly, and this is a live radio show, so there's actually a person here, me, and I answer the phone and talk to those people. And while I'm doing that, uh didn't really have a lot of time to dig things up. But uh, I think I do have a lot of stories about people dying. Should we get into that fun stuff?
Sure. Uh now this one I haven't read the story, so I don't know how gruesome it is, but the headline got my attention. Monticello man charged with murder, reportedly over a cat dispute. And being the cat guy, I have to figure out in this article what the dispute over the cat is. Because, I mean, it would take a lot for me to uh murder someone over a cat. Now, I I mean it would take a lot for me to murder someone.
It would have to be in self-defense or self-defense of my cat. Am I gonna get fired? I did not say I would commit murder. Settle down, everybody. Jeez. Okay, so got this guy accused of uh shooting 57-year-old Daniel Fertleman. This is uh Steven Stahlberg. Uh right. You know, I'm I'm not I'm not gonna get into the gruesome details of the crime scene.
Let's see. Stallberg barged into his room and started a fight. So these guys must have been roommates. And according to the complaint, the one guy was intoxicated and the fight was due to an issue with their cat. What's the issue with the cat?
It doesn't even say. Like, did the cat pee on the other guy's stuff? Did the cat repeatedly dump on the floor? I don't know. I mean, cats can be annoying, trust me.
Got four of them. Drive me nuts sometimes. But um, yeah, if you get into a dispute with somebody over their pet, you shouldn't shoot them. Um there have to be some better solutions, like maybe a therapist. Yeah, get yourself into some counseling, maybe some uh anti-psychotic medication. Um you know, antidepressants, something that's gonna, you know, chill the brain out a little bit. If you're thinking of shooting somebody over an argument over a pet, uh you you need help, okay. Get in and get help. Don't get don't get the firearm. All right. Let's see. Okay, that's unpleasant too.
There's so much death in the news. This guy's such a weird looking dude, this Clay Matthews guy. You seen this guy? Um, he he's like a football player. He doesn't even look real. What's going on with that guy? Why does he look that way?
Okay, anyway, that was in the news that he looks weird. Um anything else here. Oh, for those of you who enjoy Canadian booze, yeah, I guess as of uh the end of the month, the 29th. All booze, is it all booze from Canada has been uh banned for import? Along with some dairy products and motorcycles. Do we get a lot of motorcycles from Canada? I didn't know Canada is a major motorcycle manufacturing hub. And but I do know there's a lot of booze that comes out of Canada that people like. You know?
Isn't is Crown Royal Canadian? I don't know if I'm supposed to like just sit here and talk about booze all morning. I'm avoiding booze.
I ain't gonna go get any. Doesn't hurt me if they're not importing uh Crown you know, crown royal or whatever. Yes, uh, that would be a Canadian booze.
So, end of the month. Sorry, Canadian mist fans and whatever other Canadian booze. You like your Labat beer?
No go. Uh, as well as I I don't know. What do they have Canadian cheese? Again, these articles are so vague. It's kind of like with the the meat being imported, and people are like, well, where's the meat coming from?
And nobody will say. I I don't like it when the government just won't give a clear answer. Oh, yeah, that's always so most alcoholic beverages and motorcycles. Huh?
Well, anyway. That's the times we're in. Let's fight with Canada. They're scary.
Never met some Canadians, frightening people. I'm really worried. And why aren't we building the wall up there? Right?
Those Canadians gotta watch out. All right. It's enough of that.
We'll see what else I can find for the program here. But sorry, Crown Royal fans didn't mean to ruin your morning. What's up, Peaches? What's happening? Good morning. Oh, you know, it's Wednesday. Wish it was Friday.
Speaker 3: They were halfway through, though. We had Monday off.
Speaker 1: Hey, I know. That was great. If only we always did. Oh, it'd be so amazing. Four-day work week.
Speaker 3: Do you think any unemployed people celebrated Labor Day? Of course. They shouldn't have. Why not? It's like you're not working.
Speaker 1: Well, there were plenty of people who had to work on Labor Day. I was some of the unemployed people. Yeah, I know. But what about them? You know, should the people who had to work celebrate? They should get another day off. They should.
Yeah. A day of their choosing. I think if any day is a national holiday, pretty much everybody should get it off. I under I understand some things need to stay open, like Carl's Jr. Not Carl's Jr. Peaches. Maybe like a gas station. Um, and maybe like uh an emergency care, you know, an urgent care.
Speaker 3: We need the the robots for those days specifically.
Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah. No, dude.
Speaker 3: That's when it's okay to have the the AI and the drive-thru, all of that stuff. There was one Thanksgiving where I just like I didn't have any food in the fridge. I didn't know what to do, so I went to Carl's Jr. and just got the whatever Discussion. Whatever burger they had on specialty or whatever.
Speaker 1: Heck yeah. No, I think we need more days off. I actually saw a tweet from or I don't know. What what's a truth social post called?
Speaker 3: A truth social post? Yeah.
Speaker 1: Don't you know what truth social is? No. What planet have you been living on, Peaches? Is it a political thing? It's it's Trump's version of Twitter.
Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't follow follow that stuff.
Speaker 1: You're in pop culture, you work in radio.
Speaker 3: But I avoid politics like the plague. I hate it.
Speaker 1: See, that's the problem with people. People need to pay attention to politics. They need to look into it. They don't pay attention to what politicians are saying, and then they get out and they vote just based on the party, and then they go, What happened? Where did all this come from?
Uh well, that's what they said they were gonna do. But anyway, I I don't know what you call a true social post, but this one was from uh toward the end of last year, and the president was saying we need to eliminate a lot of our national holidays because people are taking too much time off work. I did see that actually. And I was like, dude, give us all a little bit of a break. We need more days off.
How dare you look at taking away some of our what do we get a year, Peaches? Like six PTO days, barely anything. We get uh Easter. Um the Fourth of July. No, we don't get the Fourth of July.
Speaker 3: That's right. Well, maybe maybe now.
Speaker 1: Maybe now, but uh we generally got a bonus state for that. I think that's what I was trying to. So we essentially get the Fourth of July. Uh Thanksgiving, Christmas, Labor Day, Memorial Day. Am I missing any? I know there's a lot more national holidays that uh like the banks are closed, the government offices are closed. We don't get all those off. Give us give us more days.
Speaker 3: Is it on the employee phone list? Is that what I see at the bottom there? Let me pull that up real fast.
Speaker 1: I think that's where it is. Or at least it used to be. No, yeah, it used to be on there. What is somebody calling about? Hold on. But while you look that up, we'll see what this person wants. They better be on topic. Uh, people or call her you're live on the air. Keep that in mind. Who's this?
Speaker 2: Oh, sorry, I was just chugging a beer.
Speaker 1: It's Ravonda chugging a beer. Ravonda, that is not on topic. We are talking about uh days off and uh presidential uh post. New Year's Day as well post.
Speaker 4: I was I was I was chugging a beer real quick before you guys answered.
Speaker 1: Ah, gotcha. Uh yeah.
Speaker 4: But uh sucks when you have to work all freaking weekend.
Speaker 1: Yeah, it really does. Uh that was pretty lame. And I guess bars are one of those places uh uh that they're always open too.
Speaker 4: They are always open. You never have a day off.
Speaker 1: Yeah, see what they need to do is shut down for the national holidays, and then people can go to the gas station and get their drinks.
Speaker 4: And also Carl Jr. sucks Peaches. Oh, I know.
Speaker 1: I got no problem with it. They got they got that breakfast burger. JD used to bring me a breakfast burger from there every once in a while. It was good.
Speaker 4: No, I got food poisoning from there.
Speaker 1: Now that's multiple times. Allegedly. Yeah. We'll go allegedly.
Speaker 4: We're gonna throw out allegedly. I don't just know I did. I don't just buy into anything the listeners say Ravonda. Especially Ravonda.
Speaker 4: But yeah, Carl's Jr. sucks.
Speaker 1: All right. Will you bring me some Carl Jr. a breakfast burger? You can go by yourself.
Speaker 4: Oh Me and me and Peaches are going. We're going on a Carl's Jr. journey. A breakfast burger does sound good. It's a burger with like uh hash browns on it.
Speaker 3: on it And an egg and all that good stuff Yeah, it's good
Speaker 4: No, if you do, like, go for it. I mean, have food poisoning, cool.
Speaker 1: It's not gonna happen. I've never had that happen. I mean, I'm bringing you Carl Jr. at lunch. I'll throw it in your face. Whoa!
Speaker 3: Ravonda getting crazy. Typical Ravonda throwing things at him.
Speaker 1: Why dude? My phones have ranged since the second I got here. I people are uh fired up today, I guess. Social Wednesday. I guess so. Like, look, I mean, the lines are still lighting up. All right. Well, well.
Speaker 4: I'm just gonna say Carl's Junior's Sussex and if you really do, I will throw it in your face.
Speaker 1: All right. Well, you have a good day at work, Ravonda. We'll try not to. You too. Alright, All right, bye.
Speaker 3: What's your fast food hot take? Let us know 208-535-1015. Yeah, all right.
Speaker 1: did you get food poisoning from? All I was talking about is how I want more days off. Yeah, how dare the government call for cutting us off on days off. Uh caller, you're live on the air, keep that in mind. Who's this?
Speaker 2: Um Jeff. I know when I'm live on the air and want to keep my mouth shut. Don't worry. I'm not drinking a beer.
Speaker 1: Thank you, Jeff. It's come on, Jeff, it's 8 a.m. Yeah, it's a little early for beer, Jeff.
Speaker 2: But not if you work night crew. Not if you work night crew.
Speaker 1: Okay, fair, fair. But uh Ravonda does not work night crew.
Speaker 3: Yeah, but what if you what if you drink a beer after your shift after a night shift? You know, like it's is that okay?
Speaker 1: Yeah, it's totally normal. You get up, you get off at uh Go ahead. Sorry, sorry, Victor. Oh, that's okay. Okay, I was gonna say you get off at 6 a.m.
Sure. You know, but the problem is you can't buy it till 7 a.m. They're discriminating against the people who have to work the night shift. It's actually probably good that uh drunk people can't go load back up at 4 a.m.
Speaker 2: That's Probably said I didn't realize it was 7 a.m. long. But I mean, hey, I'm like two seconds away from sitting in my cubicle eating McDonald's, so it's not like my choices are healthier.
Speaker 1: Well, why don't you uh you should go get yourself a Carl's Jr. breakfast burger, man. I'm telling you.
Speaker 3: I was gonna ask Jeff, what is your fast food hot take?
Speaker 1: Um I don't know. I feel like you guys have intel ones at In and Out Burger coming. I know I'm gonna piss off some locals with that comment, but that's okay.
Speaker 1: Um, you know, I have not heard any details on when In N Out Burger is coming here. I would just assume because I mean, if they're gonna open one in Twin Falls, they've got one in Logan, I bet they'll hit Pokey first. They're getting closer. And then they'll come uh come here. That's that's my guess. There was an article. Kind of like raising canes.
Speaker 3: Uh I saw I saw an article yesterday about how um they changed up the ingredients at In and Out, and a lot of people are very mad about it.
Speaker 2: Oh, now I have to try it. You know what? Victor, Victor brought up my other hot take because my initial hot take was on the tweet. I that to Vic and I think it was from last year and I think what bugged me about it is if you look at the date that he posted it it was on Juneteenth and I was like oh so now I think he's just making a political
Speaker 1: statement on a holiday that he literally made a federal holiday. Okay I didn't realize that was the date he would put it on and I have noticed that seems to be one of the federal holidays that a lot of places decide yeah we won't celebrate this one which I think is kind of messed up but it's
Speaker 2: funny because he's the one that made it a federal holiday and then he puts that tweet out I'm like I'm very confused.
Speaker 1: I Let's try I don't want to get too much into Trump because people get sense people get very sensitive when it comes to uh political talks. Let me put on my red cap real quick. I don't people don't wear red caps anymore. I haven't did you see a single red cap recently I
Speaker 2: have a friend that I go out with and oh I think it's an Atlanta Braves cap. But on the cap it says red boy but it's a red cap and every time he wears it I'm like someone's going to confuse that something else now because that's just where we are in 2026.
Speaker 1: Oh yeah I mean you see a red hat now you just go okay and it you know automatic assumption yeah could be the uh what the the angels is that still a team in your
Speaker 3: home Los Angeles Angels of
Speaker 1: Anaheim the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim I think red's their color oh yeah
Speaker 2: yesterday I borrowed who's your baseball team
Speaker 3: peaches it's the the Dodgers all the
Speaker 2: way oh god I'm a Giants fan we've never talked baseball
Speaker 3: that's okay I've been to Giant Stadium it's a beautiful stadium it's right there on the water too nice
Speaker 2: yeah yeah except for every the the the morning beer I guarantee that lady wouldn't be drinking it there it's way too overpriced oh yeah
Speaker 3: there was just a dishwasher position in San Francisco for $50 an hour. Yeah I saw that thousands of people
Speaker 1: applied for it I know I'm moving see you guys
Speaker 2: later now I gotta give my uh now I gotta give my opinion to the piss off people this is my sleep token of opinion of fast food right here. Here we go. I don't I don't want that raisin caves man I don't know have you guys tried it I don't know my opinion's kind of I've done it once and everyone says oh if you don't like the chicken you gotta try the sauce and in my head I'm like if your chicken is contingent on the sauce is the chicken really that good I'm not always been my
Speaker 3: I'm not a big fan of chicken tenders chicken fingers as a whole because I think you're childlike if you keep ordering that at restaurants like if you're that person that goes to a restaurant says I'll take the chicken tendies like I just give me the dyno nuggets.
Speaker 1: I I like raising canes I've only been there one time but it it was fine it it was good.
Speaker 3: I went there after the paparot show and it was it was pretty decent.
Speaker 1: Well and it's basically the sauce is like basically a version of fry sauce.
Speaker 2: Yeah definitely yeah Victor you're right.
Speaker 1: So like people out of state you know like that that sauce has now started to take off everywhere else but they call it you know either like spread you know spread or smash burger sauce island sauce island sauce secret sauce secret sauce or they call
Speaker 2: it a matter of time is what you're saying until it's in a bottle like the Subway sauces and the Chick fil A sauce is in the store now.
Speaker 1: Like Chick-fil-A sauce is just fry sauce you know that made with barbecue sauce it's it's all fry sauce.
Speaker 2: We all know exactly what the secret sauce is on the Big Mac Thousand Island.
Speaker 1: Thousand I don't know what they're hard so But I you know I like raising canes I'm excited for it to open here I'll probably you know have to wait a few weeks till people see set it up.
Speaker 2: You're going to want to wait a bit yeah well that's the Chipotle I do DoorDash on the side that's how I make my uh my concert money and dude I have ordered that Chipotle like the plague when they first opened for like two weeks.
Speaker 1: Yeah I haven't tried Chipotle yet so I can't cast my judgment on it.
Speaker 2: Oh come on we got his opinion on that yeah yeah Mr. California because I got my opinions too what's yours?
Speaker 3: Uh Chipotle to me I mean I've been eating it because it's healthy for the most part I mean there's still a lot of salt in there but like I get the protein bowl with the chicken and the rice and then like the high fiber black beans or whatever but I I've been eating that's that's been actually one of the few places I've been going to to get food from Oh, gosh, for you!
Speaker 4: I just blasted Jeff's ears.
Speaker 2: To Beach's point I'll say this and then I'll bounce off the peach's point though the one thing I'll say about Chipotle is like even if it's not the best Mexican food because that's always the argument I see it's probably the only Mexican food I feel like when I eat I don't feel like I'm gonna die 30 minutes to an hour after I eat it.
Speaker 1: You need to go to some better Mexican restaurant. I was gonna say geez hit Jalisco's or something.
Speaker 2: I mean come on they're good hey I like I like that rain all too I'm gonna give them a bump on the
Speaker 1: hair Rain all too is good as well man for sure and I saw that new place opened up on first uh what's it called I I can't remember but uh you know the old House of Jade which was like yeah they they turned it into a Mexican restaurant and I'm so glad when I drive down that word I don't have to see that stupid name I
Speaker 3: was Jade I wish they would do that to his office in the building here.
Speaker 1: It's turned into a Mexican restaurant.
Speaker 2: Me too You guys would never leave well you know what like when I moved to Ryrie I I like the hole in the wall burrito shops and I feel like they're hard to find but that one in Ryrie, when I first moved in there, she knew we moved there, and she said, Where are you guys from? And I said, Oh, we're not supposed to say. And she goes, Don't worry, I'm from San Diego. And I did the sign of the cross right in front of her because I was like, Thank God these burritos are gonna be good.
Speaker 3: I think I'll I think I'll avoid a hole in the wall burrito, if you know what I mean.
Speaker 1: Me and Becca went to me and Becca went to Ryrie one day so she could just show me where she grew up. And well, we stopped at the uh I think they have two bars there, but we stopped at one of them, and somebody was slinging uh Tamales. They were bomb.
Speaker 2: Yeah, dude, There's uh there's a the main bars right next to elementary school. That's how we get down. And if you go two blocks down, I am on the city council for Ryrie.
I don't uh that's fun. But uh if you drive two blocks down from the uh bar, you also get our nice anti-aircraft gun sitting in the middle of the park.
Speaker 1: Yeah, I uh took a photo next to that thing. I I remember I think I posted it and was like, This is how kids play in Idaho.
Speaker 2: So next next time you go to that bar, my mother in law pointed it out. Um when she was out here, I think she had enough of my kids at one point. But uh when she went over to the bar, she pointed out that there is a picture of somebody's ex-wife or husband, I don't know who it is, and they may or may not have clothes, and it was hidden in the back. I don't know if it's still there, but I know it was four years ago.
Speaker 1: I've seen some weird stuff hanging up a bars around here, so it wouldn't surprise me.
Speaker 2: That'll be the last thing I share on mine before I get in trouble now. Some of them are like, I know that Ryrie City Councilman.
Speaker 1: Well, I appreciate our local government listening to my radio show, so greatly appreciated, sir.
Speaker 2: Well, that's because I'm gonna tell you right now, small towns. There really is no left or right since you brought that up earlier. It's either it's either complain about everything or love everything. It's one of the two. So pretty much what's pretty much.
Speaker 3: Oh, wow, yeah, definitely.
Speaker 1: That's true. All right. Well, hey, thanks, guys. Hey, thanks, man. Have a good one. Thank you. All right, we better take a break. There was even more people calling. Like I said, it's been non-stop okay.
Speaker 3: So maybe it's the return of peaches, getting people to it. Must be start calling back in again. Must be. But uh another one just called in. Do we have time?
Speaker 1: No, we don't have time. I was gonna say we need to go to break. Caller, what you need to do is the next time we start yapping, you call back in.
We have to take a break right now. I'm sure. Like I mentioned on the program earlier, the phones this morning.
I ain't got a problem with this. They're just ringing at an abnormal rate. I love talking to all of you, so don't feel like you can't call me.
All right, totally cool. Most radio shows out there. I see them talk about it all the time online. They're like, nobody ever calls.
We never get a single phone call. I'm like, what are you doing wrong? You need to start at least riling people up or something. If I got to the point that nobody was calling me on this radio show, you'd start hearing me say some crazy things just to get people calling and yelling at me. Okay, what was I gonna talk about? I guess we could talk about a weird event that went down at a breaking Benjamin show.
Uh so the front man of Breaking Benjamin, Benjamin Burnley. I guess in between songs, he went off for literally five minutes about a beef he's having in the Fallout 4 online modding community. So I guess he enjoys modding Fallout 4. I don't know exactly what kind of mods he makes. I haven't gotten into uh computer game modding because my computer's screwed up, number one. I should just put myself in debt and buy another new computer. No, I shouldn't.
I'm already I mentioned earlier how I had to look at my uh credit card bills yesterday and wanted to throw up. Uh so anyway, I haven't gotten to modding of computer games, even though I really want to, because some of the Red Dead 2 mods I've seen look so fun. But Benjamin Burnley's into Fallout modding, Fallout 4. And I guess somebody online was like, Your mods suck, bro.
Why don't you, you know, stick to what you're good at making music? Your mods garbage. And so we went off about this for like five minutes. And uh people in the crowd started going, play some music, come on. And he's like, Listen, listen.
I need to tell you about this. When you post a mod, you're supposed to be able to grow and learn and make it better. And right off the bat, this blah blah blah is crapping on my mod.
So you guys need to go home and you need to download my mod because my mod numbers need to increase. Benjamin Benjamin Burnley m uh losing his mind a little bit? I mean, I'm all down for bands saying whatever they want on stage. I got into a discussion with Danny from from Ashes to New about that. Took me a bit to remember what we argued about, but it was um about bands making uh political statements on stage.
He was saying they shouldn't, you know. You're there to entertain the whole crowd, blah blah blah blah blah. I'm like, okay, so dude, what about bands like Rage Against the Machine or System of a Down or any other political band? And he's like, Well, that's part of the you know their thing. And I'm like, Well, politics are generally a part of everybody's thing in some way, and it's your stage, you can get up and talk about whatever you want. That's it's your show. So if Benjamin Burnley wants to talk about modding Fallout 4 for five minutes in the middle of a show, I think it's more power to him.
I think it's kind of funny. I'd much rather hear that than the usual things that bands say, like bands, they come to every town and they're like, Man, you guys are the best crowd we've had all tour. It's just kind of what you gotta do as a band. You know, you you got the name of the city you're in listed um on a piece of paper uh on the stage monitors in front of you, unless you're Corey Taylor with Stone Sour and you're playing in pokey, then you're like, ooh, I wish I would have had uh a little piece of paper that said Idaho on it, sitting in front of the stage here, so it wouldn't have come out and said, How's everybody in Oregon doing today? But yeah, yeah, it's your stage, rant about whatever you want. Yeah, you ever come see my band play if we ever get it together again?
I don't know. I think my drummer doesn't like me anymore, but that's fine. What whatever I it's not like I did anything wrong to him. If I'm wrong on that, Steve, you could feel free to uh text me back. But you know, I'm I'm like Peaches, people don't respond to me. I start thinking weird things. I start thinking, oh, they don't like me anymore. I made them mad. Oh, I said something that I shouldn't have. What did I do?
Should I message again? No, then you might seem weird. All right, I'll just lay low and just sit here and be self-conscious about it. But yeah, if you come to one of my shows, if I ever play a show again, who knows what I'll say on stage, but it's my stage. The only stage that I can't say everything I want is on the stage I'm on right now. That would be uh this radio show. All right, let's go to the phones, cuz they don't stop ringing. K Bear, you are live on the program. Keep that in mind. Who's this?
Speaker 2: Hey, what's up, boss? Love you love the show.
Speaker 1: Hey, thanks, Stuart. What's up, dude?
Speaker 2: I just wanted to call out radio DJs and say they have entirely too many days off. Because when I'm on my on my days off for vacation, I want to listen to the radio DJ just babble on about conspiracies.
Speaker 1: Ah, and sometimes, you know, I wake up and I'm like, it's a good day for PTO, because I feel like garbage. But now I'm at the point that like I have to build PTO, like there is no way I can miss a single day for at least like a month and a half because I have to spend all my money to go to my daughter's wedding. You know, could people stop getting married already? You know, as a parent of a uh a woman, you you're like obligated to pay for so much stuff, and it's
Speaker 2: like from what I've from what I've read, it sounds like this generation pretty much gave up on marriage.
Speaker 1: Well, not my daughter and her fiance. I mean, they it's not like they went crazy, but uh if I need to spend a hundred dollars, that's crazy. You start getting me dropping a few grand. I'm like, I'm broke, I don't have any money. Help.
Speaker 2: My brother had an absurd wedding. He married Rich. I I uh recommend it if you ever get the chance. They had a buddy to 50k for their wedding.
Speaker 1: 50k, what a waste of money. We got Jay Davis joining us in the studio. I went to Jade's wedding, and I would assume it was fairly budget friendly.
Speaker 3: It was like 1200 bucks. Okay, and most of that was the dress. Exactly.
Speaker 1: Because dresses are stupid. I was just complaining. Put on some pants. I was just complaining about the sheer amount of money I've had to spend on my daughter's upcoming wedding next month, and then you know, because I'm an idiot. I mean, uh well, I've been watching plane ticket prices for a while. Oh, it's a great time to you know, need to buy tickets to something that uses fuel, let me tell you. Yeah, drive in your gas guzzling truck.
I don't know what would be cheaper. Taking a plane or like borrowing Becca's car. You're screwed no matter what if you want to go anywhere. Maybe I just won't go to her wedding. Sorry, can't afford it.
Speaker 3: Just zoom it. Zoom call in.
Speaker 1: Yeah, she can uh I'll walk her down the aisle. She can hold me on a phone. Yeah. Yeah. Good enough. Because then, you know, I gotta rent like a suit because I'm too fat for my other one. Tit on a treadmill. Well, I don't I'm only tubby fool. I I can't lose enough weight in a month. Well, maybe I could. How fast does the jab take the weight off you? I have no idea. I don't know.
Speaker 3: I'm skinny, so I don't have your problem.
Speaker 1: I just figured I'm I I'm not fat enough that I need to use the jab, but I am fat. And I cut the booze out, so that's gotta help a little.
Maybe the combination of if I cut the booze out, I get the jab, the the good old OZEM pick. on a treadmill. And get on a treadmill. Maybe I could show up looking like you and they'll be like, you don't like walking. Is your problem? But if I'm walking in my own house, it's different. I doubt that. Because I can, Right above my treadmill, I mounted a uh, you know, a nice uh 27 inch TV.
Speaker 3: And how often have you actually been on that treadmill? Since I put the TV on it? Yeah. Zero times.
Speaker 1: How long ago did I put the TV there? A couple years. Yeah, I think it was a couple years ago. Treadmill's the ultimate dust collector. It's good for holding wet laundry. Well, I don't I don't even go in my basement anymore. Cause I gotta clean it because of filthy animals. I need to shampoo the whole car.
Speaker 3: We shouldn't talk about Backstreet Becca that way. Back street street.
Speaker 1: No, she doesn't mess up the basement. It's all all those freaking animals. Like I said, back street back. They're monsters, all of them. Taking them all to the pound. Just gonna load them up in the back seat of the car.
Speaker 3: They'll how about I catch a rattlesnake for you today, and that'll just solve your problem. Oh, you're heading up to the hills, huh? Yep. Gotta spend the company gas.
Speaker 1: I don't need any more pets. Okay, especially snakes. I'm already worried about you need a nope rope. A nope, that's what you call a snake. Nope.
Speaker 3: Just the rattlesnake. That's a nope rope.
Speaker 1: It it really is. Okay. Well, uh, you have a safe travel up into the hills. And uh, Stuart, you have a great day as well. Yeah, you too. Have a good one. Thanks, man. All right, I guess I'll find out what works Jade's got for me. We'll be we'll be back. Now, Peaches, what's wrong with me having a nice ruby red squirt? Just because it has a little bit of sugar in it. Come on.
Speaker 3: A little bit of sugar. All right, let's let's see here. Oh, let's check it out.
Speaker 1: I can't see in this lighting. I got bad old man eyes. There's 90 grams of sugar. Okay, and that's how much percent of the daily allotted amount? A hundred and twenty. 120. Okay, somewhere here I got a can of Mountain Dew.
Speaker 3: Oh, I know Mountain Dew's the worst one. And you got dirty Mountain Dew. That's even worse.
Speaker 1: Yeah, I yeah, turn the light on. There we go. This one. Uh this one ain't as bad as this one. This says uh 40 44 grams of added sugar. It's still bad, Victor. I can't believe the Ruby Red Squirt has more sugar than Mountain Dew cream soda dirty dew. What about this Sprite?
Speaker 3: How many sodas do you have in here? I got a few peaches.
Speaker 1: Okay, this is if you drink the whole bottle, but this is bigger than the cans. This one has 61 grams of sugar. 123% of the allotted daily value. Yeah. What about these Tums? I don't see any nutrition label on the tone. They can't they can't do that. There's gotta be sugar in those tombs. You know, those aren't the minty ones. Those are the fruity tones. They're the peaches tons.
Speaker 3: They are. I use them quite a lot.
Speaker 1: I know that bottle's between you and me, it's going down quick. Hopefully, you know, with cutting out the dirty booze. My guts will start doing uh a little bit better. They've been doing uh pretty good.
Speaker 3: I'm lining up all the uh promotions for next year for for Z103, and I think since you're in charge of the promos for K bear, you gotta do uh a Peaches walk the summer thing, like a Peaches Walking Club.
Speaker 1: Well, we could do that since you like walking. I I had a had a different idea.
Speaker 3: We all invade Brian's neighborhood. We just parked on his street.
Speaker 1: I was just gonna see if there was a gut health month. Oh, that's March.
Speaker 3: Have me on the Riverbend Awareness Project.
Speaker 1: Yep, you and me will talk about gut health. You know, kombucha, tums, meprzol, uh keeping healthy bacteria inside of your guts. Uh I don't know. Uh maybe we should submit that to Melissa for a good topic for the uh River Bend Awareness Project podcast.
Speaker 3: I just sit there in the chair. I eat a lot of yogurt. You gotta get them probiotics, dude. It's what what's the difference between prebiotic and probiotic?
Speaker 1: See, uh what do you know? No, I was about I was asking you. I don't know. And uh all I know is that I like both like those poppy sodas, those are good, and they're low in sugar, you know? Delicious.
They got you. You just like anything with poppy in it. Pretty much. You know, opium poppies. Oh, wait. Poppy seed muffins.
I want to fail a drug test. We're definitely gonna play some poppy after the break now. But uh, yeah. Here's what you gotta do. You do the just plain old seltzer. The Michael Bubly soda, yeah, Michael Boublet soda that has nothing in it whatsoever. All right.
Speaker 3: I'm looking up difference between prebiotic and probiotic. Prebiotics are non-digestible fibers that act as food for your gut, while probiotics are the live beneficial microorganisms themselves.
Speaker 1: So do they recommend you use them together? Because the other day I drank a kombucha and then I drank a poppy soda. And I was like, is that too much living bacteria type stuff going into my guts?
Speaker 3: Neither is better than the other because they have different jobs and work best as a team. Yeah! Prebiotics are live beneficial bacteria and yeasts that uh that help that add helpful microorganisms to your gut. Prebiotics are specialized plant fibers that act as food to nourish and sustain your existing good gut bacteria.
Speaker 1: Okay, so you should probably drink the uh the probiotic first, then you would think you do the prebiotic before the pro, because it's pre, and pre generally means before, but it sounds to me like you should do probiotic first and then do prebiotic.
Speaker 3: I do love the people also ask section. Is prebiotic or probiotic better for diarrhea? Probiotics are genuinely better than prebiotics for active diarrhea, is adding prebiotics fibers during a flare-up can sometimes worsen gas and loose stools.
Speaker 1: Also, if you need to go, you know, it's poppy soda. You go to that uh oh, they originally were gonna call it poopy. Oh but they were like, ah it's not very good marketing for our business, so maybe we'll just go ahead and we'll call it poppy.
Speaker 3: There was some sick freak on that uh unpopular opinion subreddit. I don't know if I ever told you about this. It was a hilarious post. I was gonna work my way around it on my show. Uh-huh. This guy was like, I love the feeling of like going number two, but that way. Okay.
Speaker 1: And with uh like uh assistance
Speaker 3: from the missing the river from Willy Wonka. Yeah. That that's he's like, I love having that because I feel better afterwards. I'm getting rid of all that toxicity out of my system.
Speaker 1: I think that the sign of things being healthy involves a lot of farting solid. Well, uh well, farting, but I think things are supposed to come out solid if they come out on all liquid.
It depends on the color. The river jank them. If they come out, the river jank them, that's not good. I I think something's going wrong with the gut health. Yeah. If uh yeah, I I don't want to get too disgusting on here.
Speaker 3: Well, I told you that one time I had that really bad stomach sickness from that spinach at the salad bar, and it was uh yeah. It was uh I don't go to detail about it. People might be eating breakfast right now at work, turned into us.
Speaker 1: I I hope so. Yeah, and are we okay with salad now? Is salad still recalled?
Speaker 3: Oh, I saw the chocolate eyeballs were uh getting a recall, which I mean, I never eat anything that's related to the human anatomy that's like uh supposed to look like uh eyes, uh anything of that sort. No, thank you. Gummy eyeballs, I get grossed out by those.
Speaker 1: I like that stuff. I like that those were some of my favorite candies when I was a kid, the candy that looked like you know, ears and fingers and eyes. Oh, yeah, gummy candies, those are good.
Speaker 3: You're one of those kids that was uh smoking the candy cigarettes.
Speaker 1: When I was a kid, we had candy cigarettes that um the they had these ones that I think they were gum and they'd be wrapped in a paper wrapper.
Speaker 3: That is nothing worse than
Speaker 1: a shaped like a cigarette, and if you blew through it, it would blow some kind of powder out. I mean, it was ridiculous. They were clearly trying to market the candy as cigarettes. It's not like the candy sticks you get now. They just stay these you'd blow through them and like a big puff would come at me.
Speaker 3: Back in my day, we smoked Smarties. Oh we would inhale the sour powder from those. I'm not gonna- I never did it because I'm a good kid.
Speaker 1: I recall seeing people do other things with Smarties in school.
Speaker 3: Oh, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1: Like, dude!
Speaker 3: good old pixie stick, you put the powder on the desk.
Speaker 1: Same deal. Same deal. It's like, what is what's wrong with the kids these days? That was when I was a kid, though. Kids are they have always been stupid, everybody. So you know, if you're feeling bad about your kid now, if you're like, man, my kid's kind of dumb. Just remember you were a dumb kid too, and your parents were stupid kids, because as I've pointed out many times, Peaches, kids are uneducated. You know? Until they're older, they're uneducated, so therefore they're dumb.
Speaker 3: I'm so adding that to the inspirational messages. Victor What one said kids are uneducated.
Speaker 1: I've said it more than once. It's just a fact. If you have a five-year-old, I would call it uneducated. I would call it It's uneducated. Well, boy or girl, it doesn't matter. You know, it might have some basic knowledge, like don't stick your finger in the electrical socket. But if you're like, well, hey, five-year-old, what's 12 times 12? You think they're gonna know 144. I know that you know, but I don't even know if they teach times tables anymore.
Speaker 3: Oh, that's where my anxiety started. Those those timed uh times tables.
Speaker 1: I think I I was the I think we learned them in third grade, and I think I was the first one to get all my times tables up through my 12th.
Speaker 3: Isn't it funny? Like those academic achievements mean nothing now. Like back in fifth grade, I was the best, the best at memorizing the state capitals, the abbreviations, the locations of them on the map, and now I can't remember a single one.
Speaker 1: And it does wouldn't, even if you did, it wouldn't do you any good. Right.
Speaker 3: What's the capital of Maine? Is it uh banger? No, it's Augusta. Augusta?
Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah. Oh and then I think that I think I don't care
Speaker 3: about their abbreviation is M E because M A is Massachusetts.
Speaker 1: Yeah, you are correct.
Speaker 3: What's the capital of Massachusetts? Uh Boston, right? I I don't know. I don't know. Capital of Massachusetts.
Speaker 1: I don't think it's Boston.
Speaker 3: All right, good guess. Yeah, I mean, like I said, I don't give a crap about the East Coast. The West is the best. All right, what's the capital of Oregon?
Speaker 1: Uh it is I I do know this one. Is it Albany or Salem? I think it's Albany. It's Salem. Salem? Okay. I guess you'd don't want to Washington? Yeah. Um, oh it's not Seattle. Is it Redmond? What the crap is it? It's Olympia. Olympia. That crappy.
Speaker 3: Okay. Well, I mean, look at California. The capital. Sacramento. Oh, it's a dump. Yeah.
Speaker 1: No, Olympia's fine. I was just thinking of that beer Olympia. That stuff sucks. Um. Uh, all right. Well, we we can end geographical trivia time, Peaches.
Speaker 3: Um what's the capital of North Dakota? North Dakota.
Speaker 1: I mean, do they have any cities there?
Speaker 3: I was waiting for you to say like Mount Rushmore.
Speaker 1: I Bismarck. You're right. Well, you got it. It's the only name of a town I could think of in North Dakota.
Speaker 3: What about South Dakota for the final one here? South Dakota.
Speaker 1: Oh another place that's like It's a terrible French name.
Speaker 3: A terrible French name. Yeah. Hmm. Raphael. No, it's Pierre. Pierre? Pierre, South Dakota. Pierre, South Dakota. Yeah. Weird. Weird. All right. Well, there's your geography lesson for the day, everybody. We'll be back with more educational content. Uh, make sure to look up foods that are currently under recall.
Speaker 3: We'll tell you the difference between geology and geography next.
Speaker 1: Geez, 68 deli salads and cream cheese products were called. over Listeria. I just pulled up recalls. We can't buy any food.
Speaker 3: They're poisoning our food.
Speaker 1: Somebody poisoned the water hole.
Speaker 3: Have you seen have you seen those conspiracy theories? I love those. They're poisoning our food, so we get fat and sick, and then we have to depend on health care and this whole thing.
Speaker 1: Well, see, now I'm ready for the Franken food. I was thinking about it with this beef problem. You know, we got if if you if you think about what it takes to get a burger to your table, there's a lot involved. You got okay, the farmer that's gotta raise the cows. So he's gonna need something to feed the cows. What do they feed them? Alfalfa? Hey? Is that the same thing?
Speaker 3: Like if I know, dude, I'm from California.
Speaker 1: So then you gotta have a different farmer who farms that, right? So they farm the hay or alfalfa, bundle it up, then they sell it to the farmer who feeds it to the cows. Then they gotta, you know, raise the cows, then they gotta take the cow to somewhere to get it slaughtered, then they have to send it to a big company to package it, and then they have to send it to a store. We gotta eliminate some parts of this process. Eliminate the middleman. So whatever happened to the lab grown meat. You remember what I'm talking about? Lab grown meat that tasted the exact same as regular meat. Allegedly. Allegedly.
Speaker 3: I've tried those impossible burgers. They're crap.
Speaker 1: But that's different than lab grown meat.
Speaker 3: Oh, I know, but I'm just saying those plant-based things that they tried giving us as alternatives. I've tried them. They're not good.
Speaker 1: They're better than some uh burgers I've had elsewhere. Oh, yeah, yeah. You know, like I'd say that a beyond burger is definitely the equivalent of a gas station burger. Yeah. They're on par.
Speaker 3: What was that one thing in a sealed bag? Was it the big old burger back in the day?
Speaker 1: I think it was called big big something burger.
Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah. That one just popped up in my mind.
Speaker 1: Yeah, I think I'd take a beyond burger over one of those. My show doesn't feel like it's long enough today. It uh feels like I I need to talk about all kinds of things. Go figure, day that's loaded with content. The show's almost done.
Who knows? I might barrel into the 11 o'clock hour because I got some work I need to do. Right now, let's talk about being blind drunk. You I've been talking a little bit about uh booze lately, trying to stay off of it myself, stay away from it for as long as humanly possible, maybe forever. Maybe, but you don't want to end up blind drunk. Or if you're blind, getting drunk's gonna be a problem, too. And you certainly shouldn't blind drunk drive, all right. If you were a blind man, and you get hammered off four bottles of wine, which is a lot of wine, you shouldn't get behind the wheel and drive for about 150 miles. And I would never want to say that a drunk driving feet is impressive because you should never drink and drive, it's bad, okay. But this blind guy in the UK drove for a hundred and fifty miles and before he got pulled over.
A hundred and fifth. So, yeah, he's a you know, blind guy, doesn't have a driver's license, doesn't have insurance, none of that stuff. And I don't know if he got in an argument with his uh significant other, but he decided to go take her car, and you know, they eventually got him because he was swerving between lanes and um onto the shoulder. But when they asked him after pulling him over because he's blind, you know, how did you make it this far? He's like, I just followed the lights in front of me. He could vaguely see light. So he's like, Yeah, I just follow this guy.
Don't do that, okay. Even if you aren't blind, call an Uber. It's easier than ever to get a ride somewhere. And if you're too blind drunk to handle it, give someone your phone and be like, please give me an Uber, and then go home and go to bed. Don't be like this guy. Uh, we're gonna talk more about uh drunk drivers and uh drinking in general in a minute.
There, well, I guess I could just quickly get this other story out of the way. Another reason to not drive drunk. Yep, you just make bad decisions when you're hammered.
Booze is not good. So this Florida woman, she crashes into this guy's car and his parking and not his parking lot, his driveway, just mows into it with her jeep. So he comes outside and he's like, Well, what is going on? She's all hammered, and then she just punches him right in the face.
BAM! Um, yeah, she's in jail too, obviously. Not only for the uh you know, driving drunk causing an accident, but yeah, she uh got charged with battery as well because you can't just punch people. All right, did you fight with the cops? It's kind of a long article here.
Yeah, okay, we got the punch in the face. Oh, she refused to speak with police, did not submit to the test, um, tried to just walk away from officers and then resisted being taken into custody. Not surprised. And then, as uh she was being it says released, she said to the officers, I thought we were all friends. U bad way to make friends with police is to uh smash your Jeep into someone's vehicle in their driveway while you're hammered and then uh get in a fight with them.
As well as possessing some type of substance. They said a schedule two. I don't know what it was, but yeah, she's going away for a while. Uh we'll end the show in a few minutes with uh a bone chilling, according to the article.
Bone chilling new party trend that young people are getting into. Okay. This is gonna scare you. It's gonna scare you. That's how we're gonna potentially end the show, so don't go anywhere.
Before I get into this dangerous new trend that teens are up to, or at least young people. I just want to quickly point out how stupid radio can be sometimes. I'm working on new music for the station, and one of the songs I was looking at was Des Rock's uh When the Love is Gone. And they put out two different versions of this song. Now that they put it out a while ago, normal version of the song. I want you to you know quickly listen to the beginning here. Let me find because now I gotta dig back through my email to find the original version of the song since they're just pushing the edit. All right, check this out. This this is one of the most ridiculous edits that I have ever heard. Yeah, no, I've complained about edits a lot. Okay. So here's the original version of the intro of this song.
Hey yo! Shelter what they call you this rocks. Oh, I'm gonna play that guitar as loud as you can. Okay. That's it, right?
You got a guy trying to pump you up. Let's get ready, let's hear those guitars over the apparently some radio programmer out there decided I don't like that. I don't like that voice at the beginning. So somebody demanded a new edit of it.
And here's the edit you get in most places. Just This took all the energy out of it. Peaches just walked in.
All right, Peaches. I'm looking at putting Dez Rocks in, and uh they sent out two different versions. I don't know if you saw this.
One was uh the regular, and one was the intro edit. Whoa. Oh, let me turn your mic on there.
All right. Here first is the uh where's the original? Here's the original. Let me back it up. Shut the weapon call you this rocks! Oh, it's gonna play that guitar as loud as you can! Okay, and then here's the one that some radio programmers out there demanded.
Speaker 3: We don't want the one guy talking. We want to talk over the intro. Yeah.
Speaker 1: Why would we have another guy there when we could turn it down and just babble a bunch of crap over the top of it?
Speaker 3: Shaming up in two songs. We'll give you the iHeart Radio Jingle Bowl keyword.
Speaker 1: That's one of the dumbest edits I've ever heard in my life. Geez. So anyway, I had to point that out real quick before we get into dangerous bone-chilling new trends that you young people are up to, Peaches. The punch Victor Wilt challenge. Uh that one would be pretty dangerous because you punch me, you're getting knocked out. Oh Okay. you don't want to mess with me, peaches. I'm a tough guy. No, it's uh a new uh party trend with uh Gen Z college students. You smoke the Smarties. Uh nope. Nope, it's not that.
Speaker 3: We snort crushed up York peppermint patties.
Speaker 1: Uh nope, it's not that.
Speaker 3: Uh we do take never mind. Forget it.
Speaker 1: The article does call it bone chilling. Bone chilling. This is scary, Peaches. Okay. What these young people are getting up to.
Speaker 3: We're eating all the lettuce till we get diarrhea.
Speaker 1: Uh, no. No, what they do is they they go to a party and they dress in workout attire and stretch on yoga mats, and then they go for a group run. That's how Gen Z's party. Peaches, see the trends you're starting. See what you're doing to the young people of America.
Speaker 3: You caught me. That's why I've been in hiding. I wear my yoga pants whenever time I walk.
Speaker 1: Is that walking the river? Maybe going for a jog. What people you hanging out with? This is bone chill. Back when I was a boy, we do keg stands, Peaches. You ever done a keg stand? No, no, I know you haven't.
Speaker 3: I assisted my friend Bobby uh with one. He's a he's a bigger dude. He's about 6'4, like 230, whatever. And me and another one of our friends had to lift him up, and he's like yelling, stop, stop. And we can't tell because he's getting a mouthful of you know beer.
Speaker 1: You're waterboarding him with beer.
Speaker 3: Well, he cut open his cheeks like the Joker. Somehow, some way, like he had just cuts all the on the sides of his mouth. He's the one dude I know to mess up a keg stand.
Speaker 1: I mean, what would you rather have your kids doing? The, you know, pound a bottle of liquor challenge or go for a nice run with their friends. God, so insulting and scary that kids would be out being healthy and getting exercise.
Speaker 3: I was trying to think of a good, like, would you rather, would you rather marry a family that runs a 5 a.m. 5K on Thanksgiving? Or what's a good of what's another one for that?
Speaker 1: Because I'm already at no.
Speaker 3: They make you go to one of those retreats that we joke about off the That video you sent me, man.
Speaker 1: Was it real? Yeah, definitely. It was real. Oh, yeah.
Speaker 3: There are a lot of dudes out there that believe in that stuff.
Speaker 1: It seems so over the top that I was like, all right, is this AI? You know, are they goofing on like the men only gyms? Or Peaches sent me this video of a men's retreat, and you got a bunch of dudes and you know, big buff dudes in a swimming pool, and one of them's floating on his back, and the the other guys are lined up on each side of it's like uh what would you call that? A lap pool, like uh it's a long skinny pool.
And so you got a whole bunch of dudes that are slowly moving him down the pool, and then he gets to the end of his little uh float, and then the two shirtless men embrace in a big wet, sloppy hug.
Speaker 3: What's really funny crying is I no joke, just went to Facebook right now and typed in Idaho Falls Men's Retreat. And there's a local church that just had theirs. August 28th through the 30th.
Speaker 1: Did they have a pool where you can soak with other dudes?
Speaker 3: It says Brotherhood Found, Truth Shared, Faith Renewed, Adventure Awaits. Okay.
Speaker 1: I want to know if there's a pool and a bunch of shirtless men will float me down it and then give me a big wet hug at the end of the day.
Speaker 3: There's comments saying, My hubby's going.
Speaker 1: What were the events though? Are they just getting around and like having a chat? Uh you know, because a men's retreat could be all kinds of things. The one you showed me though was the pool soak float hug.
Speaker 3: It took place in Swan Valley at this one particular ranch. So I'm assuming they probably did float the river.
Speaker 1: You should not get out in the river here, Swan Valley.
Speaker 3: Well, if you're a part of a men's retreat, dude might need a rescue your fellow man if you go out.
Speaker 1: Can you imagine they have a men's retreat? Twenty men died out on the snake river in a men's retreat in each other's arms.
Speaker 3: They hugged a circle, they just hugged each other to the bottom of the river.
Speaker 3: See, wouldn't that be like uh funny though? Because if like they all died right and they float to the bottom, and then the snake river just goes away in the future, and then they find 20 dudes in arms in a circle, and people from uh from the future are like, what happened back then? Was this a seance?
Speaker 1: Oh, I'm sure they'd come up with some kind of uh this was definitely a uh very deep religious ritual. Yeah, and uh it had some kind of meaning. They prayed to the water gods. Who knows what they'd come up with in the future, but
Speaker 3: anyhow it does make history does make me question like how how smart actually was Wolfgang on Madeus Mozart? Like, was he just some childhood prodigy, or was he like just some you know above average kid?
Speaker 1: You know, I don't think that people have gotten smarter over time. I think people have gotten dumber over time.
Speaker 3: We used to write symphonies, okay? Yeah, like now we're eating symphony bars.
Speaker 1: People don't even read anymore. I don't. I'm not proud of it.
Speaker 3: But I mean, I've I sold you my bookcase and most of my books.
Speaker 1: You know, I I haven't been reading, but I I want I almost picked up my book last night and read it, but I was a little too sleepy, so I didn't. But um, yeah, I I'm pretty sure people are getting dumber. I I've I've been on Facebook this time.
Speaker 3: I'll read Facebook comments.
Speaker 1: Yeah, not even the comments, man, just the the memes. I get my news from memes. We're doomed, Peaches. We're doomed. Yeah. Brain rot. At least, you know, we'll be gone. Sorry, kids. Yeah, it wasn't our fault.
Sorry, Maddie. It was the boomers' fault. Don't blame Sorry, Jen A.
Yeah, don't don't blame us. If you're if you're under like 70 or 60, it's not your fault. All them boomers.
Just playing boomer listeners. You're cool. You're listening to us.
All right, it's 11 o'clock. Like I said, keep listening because I might give away some more concert tickets. And who knows, I might even start yapping because I got work I gotta do in here.
I'm gonna be sitting in here doing something. Thank you again for tuning in to the Victor Wilt Show. This program's the production of River Bend Media Group. To contact the show or for more information, hit us up at Riverbend Media Group.com.
