Today, we're talking about GMOs and their importance to agriculture.

Speaker 2:

GMOs, or genetically modified organisms, are crops that have been altered to have certain beneficial characteristics. For example, GMO crops might grow taller, be more nutritious, or be more resistant to diseases. Over 90% of most major crops in The US are genetically modified.

A common misconception is that GMOs are not as healthy as organic crops. There is actually little evidence of this, however. GMOs are tested for years before they can be used and meet the same health standards as other foods. Foods.
