Bellevue Young Adults

The Honduras Mission Trip Team shares testimonies and reflections from their mission trip to Honduras partnering with Impacto churches. The team recounts experiences of God's provision, divine appointments, personal transformation, and the faithful work of the local church in evangelism and discipleship. Emphasis is placed on being available to God's call, the reality of the Great Commission, and disciples making disciples.

The team that went on a mission trip to Honduras spoke to the Young Adults group about how they saw God moving in the lives of the people they interacted and invested into while they were on the mission field.

What is Bellevue Young Adults?

Bellevue Baptist Church | Young Adults | Memphis, TN

All right, it's so good to be back with y'all tonight. So I'm Tanya Franks, if I haven't gotten to meet you. I'm one of the directors here in NextGen and excited to be with y'all tonight. And I'm going to have to type my little password into my computer, so hold the mic. All right, so along with what JP said, we partner with a church called Impacto and the Young Adults Ministry has partnered with them at least for the last 10 years, maybe longer. But just so you have a more well-rounded view of that partnership, Bellevue is a very mission-sending church if you haven't recognized that already. And we sent out two missionaries, Keith and Dawn Moore, about 30 years ago to Columbia. They planted a church there and started raising a family. They had four kids and when it got too dangerous with their kids, they moved to Tegucigalpa in Honduras, that's the capital. And so they planted a church in their home. They started with just a few people in their living room and the Lord agreed the church and they got a building and planted a church there in the city. And then over time, they planted a church in San Pedro Sula. So now they have, I want to say five, maybe six different churches. They have two in Tegucigalpa, one in San Pedro Sula, one in Choloteca and one in Charlotte, so five. And so that is the partnership that we serve with. So this is not like a flyby kind of partnership or ministry. It very much is a relationship that we have with these people. So this really is one of my favorite weeks of the entire year. My family knows that and these people know that, like it really is a highlight. And so it's just always good to go to my second home is what I feel like because now a lot of the people there have become like friends to me and really family. And I love serving alongside you all. It's all really great. But one thing this mission trip does, it really does give us an extended family. And so we come along just closer together and like now I hug Ryan every time I see him. He's like, I know. Like it or not, that's what happens. But it really does happen when you serve side by side, advancing the gospel together. You just grow close to each other. You just do and it's so good. And one thing I noticed this year more than maybe, I hate to say more than ever, but I did notice it a lot this year is how God works in people and how he pursues people. And that's not just us, but the people that we serve, just watching him pursue people. And it was just so very evident. So we're gonna talk first about God's provision. Doug? Yeah, hello guys. Oh, I didn't introduce you. I'm going to, but I'm going to. Okay, so this is Doug Martinez. Hello everyone. So Doug has been in Young Adults Ministry for a couple of years now, but went on his first mission trip with us to Honduras last year. It was his Honduras year. Wink, wink, we'll hear more about that in a minute. But some fun facts, I will let you tell some fun facts about that. This is not scripted. Go. It is not, so here we go. No, one of the fun facts about that is that Tania had told me about the trip. I'm from Honduras, by the way, born and raised. I moved here about six years ago. And ever since I came to Young Adults, I saw that poster. I don't know if it's still out there, but there was a poster out there that says I'm Pedro Sula mission trip. That's the city that I'm from. And I knew that second that, okay, this is where the Lord wants me. So that was very clear. And then ever since that point, Tania threw multiple texts and praying for you, or would you pray for this, you know, was telling me about going to Honduras. And I just made up every possible excuse for, I wanna say three years. I'll be seeing you out there, that's what y'all do. And it was excuses, excuse after excuse, but speaking of God pursuing people, the Lord pursued me through Tania and many others too, just like until I finally realized that he wasn't gonna stop and that I had to surrender. So that's my story. I went to Honduras for the first time last year and it completely transformed my life. And when it, this is the second time and had the honor really to serve, co-lead with Tania, it's been a blessing. Let's just say lead, lead, he led. But yeah, no, so speaking of God's provision, like one of the things, you know, just like Tania was mentioning, the Lord provides in a very personal way. He has everything that we personally need, but also he provided everything that we needed for the trip. And we want to start telling you guys about some of the stories about how the Lord provided. So Tony, this was your first mission trip and also your first introduction to the YA ministry. And you saw the Lord provide in very clear ways. Let's start with VVS in Santa Barbara. Can you tell us what happened there? Yes, so yeah, I, my first time doing anything like this, I have not even been at Bell before a year. This is my second time at Young Adults. And so I felt so prepared though, just because of how well y'all prepared us in advance. But what I saw when I went, it was truly expected, but also unexpected. Expected because I know God's character, but unexpected in the way of it being better than anything I've ever read or anything I could have imagined and so intentional. And so what I saw was Cassidy and I, we were doing lanterns. And so the way that we do this is there's three groups. You have a gospel team, you have a Bible team, and you have a games team. And then in this case, we had a crafts team. And so we were doing crafts. We were creating lanterns with the kids. And so we always prepare the supplies whenever we come out. And we had, how many did you pack? Yes, how many did we pack? JP, I think would know this. And Doug, do you remember how many we packed? Little test. 50, we packed 50. Actually, I think it was Ryan. I think Ryan might've counted the 50. I can't remember. It was 50. 50, 50 little lanterns in bags. What would happen is we would have a line of kids come out. Cassidy and I would pass out the individual lanterns to everybody. And then once that group was done, another group would come. And we had total three groups told that we were gonna have to do this lantern activity with. And so all three finished. And we were, well, I thought we're out of lanterns. And so I was like, well, great, because we have no more kids coming. And then a whole other line of kids came, probably like eight to 10 kids. And I remember looking at Cassidy and going, do we have any more lanterns? And I looked at you, and you also asked me, do we have any? I said, I don't know if we have any left. I'll go check in the bag. And so I went back into the bag, dug through it, and I pulled, I saw like a few on the side of whatever we had remaining, and I grabbed it. But it wasn't a lot. I was like, okay, this isn't, this really isn't looking good. And so we went out, and I even think we joked, like imagine, like imagine if we have just enough, right? Well, we passed out all the lanterns, and well enough, like it was the exact amount, not too many, not too little, just the exact amount for the kids. And even funny enough is there was an extra kid that showed up even, and like after the kids had already started the lanterns, and then Cassidy had one spare lantern that the kid was able to use. And so I kid you not, every single kid got to have a lantern. And you know, to, you know, maybe the average person, they might see that and go, okay, yeah, cool. Like coincidence, you just had enough. But to me, no, like God is so intentional. He loves his children so much, and it just shows his care that he would care so much about these kids that he would want them to all to be able to participate in this activity of Jesus being the light of the world with the lanterns. And it just showed me God's heart toward his kids. And I loved it. Yeah, something else too is like that day, the lesson was, you remember what the lesson was? Feeding the, was it feeding the 5,000? Yeah, 4,000. Oh, 4,000, yeah, yeah. And we had the lanterns, yes. Yes, no, that was, no, thank you for sharing that. And Tony just talked about what we do in the local churches, but we also go to school. So we go to public schools, and we do something very similar. We divide into three different groups. Bible lesson, where we taught them about Jesus feeds the 4,000. We also do games with them, and then also do gospel. So we share the gospel, we'll give them an invitation, but then after that, we have personal conversations with each kid that raises their hand. So, and JP was talking about that earlier. So during the schools, we also saw how God provided and used many people in the school. And Tony's gonna tell us about what he did in the school in San Pedro, with Alex. Yeah, so this was one of my favorite moments in the entire trip. So I was on games that day, so playing games with the kids. I was not near gospel whatsoever. And then me,

And Sidney happened to be talking to the young adult, or no, sorry, the youth director, or the director of the entire school. I think it was just the director. And so we were talking with him, and he was just sharing how thankful he was that we were there, and how a lot of the kids at the school come from really hard situations. Some of them come off the street. Some of them come from orphanages. And he mentioned one specific kid to us. He said, Alex, and I really, really hope you are able to talk to Alex. So obviously, we understand going into this, we are praying for, Lord, we understand there's divine appointments that you have for us. And so when he said that name, Alex, I'm automatically thinking, okay, this person is highlighted to us. And this director goes on to say how Alex is extremely depressed, how he comes from an extremely difficult home life where he's always alone, and that he was suicidal. And so he said, I hope you guys have the chance to talk to him. He's not coming till later, if he even comes, because he's in ninth grade. But I hope you guys are able to speak with him, and that your words can give him hope. And so automatically from there, we were like, okay, we need to find Alex. And so we prayed on the bus that Alex would come later in that afternoon session, and that whoever the Lord has for him to hear the gospel from, that it would penetrate his heart. He prayed for him, and then we found out later on that yes, Alex was there. And so because we received the word ahead of time about Alex, we were able to talk with the teacher of the class and let her know, hey, can you point out Alex to us? And so the gospel team went through their entire presentation, and then at the end, you ask everyone to bow their heads and raise their hand if they're interested in hearing more. And so they did that. Alex did not raise his hand. However, since the Lord was able to give us this providence and highlighting Alex to us that we knew about him, we were able to still go grab him and pull him out of the classroom and counsel him further. And then Nathan was the one who was counseling him, which Nathan is the most joyous gospel presenter. I'm so glad it was Nathan. Like again, that's just providence in itself. But Nathan then counseled Alex, and Nathan said at the very end, you ask them again, close your eyes, raise your hand if you want to receive Christ. And he said Alex was the first person to raise his hand. And so then they went through prayer and receiving Christ. And Nathan said afterwards, you could see his transformation, that before he was really like kind of like quiet and just, you know, like you could just see like the heaviness, but then after receiving Christ, he was smiling and you could see the transformation. And so I just thought, again, God's providence that you get to see every single day and his heart to, if you feel like you're the most lost person, you're the most forgotten person, you're the most lonely person in the world, God sees you. Truly incredible story after story after story. So thank you for sharing about Alex. I'm so thankful you're in YA now. I'm really just glad to know you. It's super fun to have you here. So great. JP, you're gonna be up next. All right, so this was, you're in Sydney's first trip to Honduras. Y'all joined the team a little bit late, a lot of it late because he just joined YA recently. So I think you missed the first four trainings. Yeah, we made it, we got through. If y'all know this, all trainings are required, all six, unless you're the YA director, then you get grafted in, but y'all did awesome. But you hopped right in, you saw God's provision, you saw him pursue people, you saw his providence, all of those things. So tell us a little bit, I think you are gonna share about Saeed and Hector, those were highlights. Correct, yeah, I had a few highlights. Saeed and Hector were two of them. I'll try to be brief, but Hector, no, I'll start with Saeed actually. We were, this was the first day in Santa Barbara, so we're partnering with one of those local churches that worked with Impacto. And there's a gentleman, we're in the park, just trying to have spiritual conversation, pray for people, share the gospel. And there's this guy just sitting there and he's kind of being contemplative. He's got like a nice watch on, like I was just like, what really is going on? And Cassidy's leading this conversation. So we did a lot of that together and we ended up having this 30, 45 minutes spiritual conversation, just trying to talk to him about the gospel. And Saeed ended up, he's a believer, but he was really discouraged. And there were some scriptures he just needed to be walked through. He had basically been skipping church for years and had talked about basically playing, he's in a soccer league on Sundays and just hadn't been going to church, had been confessed to drinking too much and all these different things to us and just really needed some encouragement. And so at the end of that conversation, we obviously prayed for him, encouraged him, and we invited him to church, thinking that we were in this area that was two and a half hours away from where we're staying. So we're connecting him with the local church there in Santa Barbara. And he's like, well, hey, no, sorry. I'm sorry, I can't go. And I was like, oh man, we just talked about being in community. Why can't you go? He's like, I live in San Pedro Sula, which is where we were. And this is Saturday afternoon. So I'm like, okay, well, hey, I've got a good deal for you. We can see you tomorrow morning in San Pedro Sula because he was on holiday and he was just literally at the park thinking, he was clearly going through it. And I would say it was a divine appointment. So he came to church that very next day. We got to see him less than like 12 hours later. And the member of the follow-up team from Impacto that sat next to him and followed up with him and helped share with him, they basically lived in the apartments directly next to each other. And their sons were classmates. And that church member's son had already been inviting that other son to church. So it was clearly a God thing. He had his hands all over it. Just that we were there in this park, two and a half hours away through all the windy roads in Honduras. And then this man ends up at church and has been connected there. So that was such an encouragement to me. Can I share one more part of that? Because the other part, he did come on Sunday and the way Impacto does it is when they have new people, like for example, tonight we would say, okay, anybody in this section, is this your first time? Raise your hand. Wouldn't you love it if we did that? None of you are new. But okay, this section, raise your hand if it's your first time, but that's what they do. And so after that, they have a gospel team that's in the back and anybody who raises their hand, then somebody from that gospel team will go and sit down beside them and try to get into a gospel conversation because they wanna be so intentional to make sure no one leaves there without the gospel. And so it's your ministry partner's dad who actually went and received this guy in church that Sunday. And just to listen to them interact and the whole thing was super incredible. Yeah, it was awesome. And it's a blessing to know since we're close with Impacto that that man will be followed up with. He will have the gospel shared. He'll have community. He'll have people reach out to him for whatever he's going through. It's really nice to know we partner with a solid church so that when we're there, nothing's done and anybody's left on. So if you look at this picture right here, this is the other guy's name, is Hector in the gray and then Manuel is in the green. And this, transparently, I was a little out of my comfort zone because we were going door to door and these two guys were working. And so we made eye contact with them and I was like, well, they're at work. Like, what's going on? But they were looking right at us and wanted to talk. So we walked right up to them and asked if we could pray with them. And they're like, sure. And they're on the spot in the middle of woodworking. We had about another 45-minute conversation about Christ and it was so powerful. The Lord clearly had just made it in that moment. That was when they needed to be spoken to. I went through the classic diagnostic question of, hey, on a scale from one to 10, one being not so sure at all and 10 being absolutely certain, if you were to die today, do you believe that you'd be in heaven? And these guys just looked at me and they didn't give a number and they said hell. And that hit me pretty hard because this was also the first house I had gone to. I was like, okay, but it just, what honesty, right, for them to share that? And so we just got to have a very vulnerable conversation very quickly. And Manuel, he was involved in the conversation but wasn't as, I'd say, receptive, but he was very respectful. But Hector, you could see there in the gray, he was going through it the whole time. You could tell he was answering these questions and he was wrestling with it in his face. You could see it in his eyes that he wanted to know more. And he had had some experience with church but clearly was wrestling through thinking salvation was through earning it, through works. And essentially what happened was we'd given the invitation at the end of that time and a little bit of a translation error, I would say, on what needed to be done. And we ended up leaving. And then we were talking to our translator after it didn't feel good about how we'd asked him to raise his hand and that kind of thing. But we knew that we needed to go back. And so the next day, luckily we were still in the same city and we were able to go right back to his shop and he was still working. And we had another conversation. We had to talk through some more scriptures, but praise God, there was a moment where one of his coworkers left and it was just me, Tanya, translator, church member. And we were able to lead him to Christ and he accepted the Lord. And it was so genuine. You could tell immediately after the verse, just a weight lifted off. Like this was a genuine response to hearing the gospel and putting faith in Christ. So it's a very powerful moment. And I was encouraged by it. That really was a great way to start the trip because that was like right out of the gate. It was amazing. All right, Doug, you have a lot of things you could share as well, but share us some of your highlights. Yes. So I want to share two stories. So the first one is, I want to tell you about Felipe. So Felipe is a first grader. We were in San Pedro Sula and I was counseling first graders. So very rowdy bunch. And there were two kids, Felipe included, who were very quiet. They were paying attention, eyes locked in on everything that I was telling them and answering all the questions. But once we got to the part where there was more deeper questions, I realized that Felipe had a speech impediment. And I tried my best to get as far as I could,

yes or no questions, and it was very evident that I just couldn't continue that way, where I needed to know more of what was going on. But someone, like the Lord gave me discernment to realize that it was worth continuing to try and have a conversation. So what I'm gonna tell you guys about is just like God, how the Lord provided for that moment. Right next to him was another kid who we're gonna name John, because I don't remember his name, but he was also super quiet, didn't say much, but also very engaged in the conversation. And I looked at him, as I was kind of puzzled, he probably saw my face, and then he began just translating everything that Felipe was saying. And Felipe is like pouring his heart out, guys. And it was just very evident that the Lord was pursuing him so much, and he wasn't gonna let anything stop him from receiving Christ that day. So they both prayed to receive Christ, so praise the Lord for that. It's just, yeah, it was just amazing. The other story that I had is, I was counseling third graders, and similar story in the sense of like, there were two seventh and eighth graders who just tag along, right? We were in the playground area, and the seventh and eighth graders just like tag along, along with the third grader group. And I mean, that's kind of odd, right? Like we, you know, they weren't part of the classroom, but they decided to follow us. And I wasn't sure if they were like students, or they worked there, but it was very evident that they were, they wanted to hear what we were talking about. So I finished counseling the third graders, and then I asked them, hey, do you guys wanna talk? And they both say yes. Then two became four, because two more of their friends came. Long story short, and I hate to do this, but all of them prayed to receive Christ. And what I'm gonna tell you, what I want to tell you is that after that conversation, like all four of them like told me stories from that week or the previous day. Like one of them had picked up her Bible for the first time in years, the night before, and she had fell asleep with it. The other one had told me that she was invited, she always goes out with her friends, and drinks, and smokes, and this is seventh, eighth graders. And the night before, she hadn't, right? And they both were like, and then you guys showed up. And what they really meant is that the Lord showed up. We didn't show up, right? Like the Lord showed up that day, and we were talking in the bus after that, it's like these stories are the fruit of everything that we pray for. One of the things that we pray for is that the Lord will prepare the hearts of the people that we talk to and have this connection. They're truly divine appointments. And it's very, it's such a blessing to be able to see that while we're there. Yeah, it was really, really just incredible. All of those stories, and we could say more, and more, and more about each piece of that. Danielle, it is your turn. So this was your Honduras year. I referenced that earlier with Doug, because last year was his. But this year was your year, and I was super glad. You've served on missions with us for a while. You've done a lot of local missions, you've gone to Denver, you've seen a lot of different things. But this year, you got to go to Honduras. So tell us how you saw God provide in Honduras. Yeah, so I could say a lot of stories, too, just about how the Lord provided through our team, just how the Lord worked very specifically in the people of Honduras. But one story I remember is I was on a gospel team and we were at a school. And up to that point, I had mostly worked with kids, like third graders, fourth graders. I think the oldest might have been sixth grade. And the next classroom I went into, I was like, okay, these kids are older. I think they were ninth graders is what they were supposed to be, but I'm pretty sure they were like maybe 15, 16, 17. And so I was like, okay, Lord, I'm so nervous. I'm not cool enough to talk to teenagers. But the Lord definitely provided, because it wasn't like a lot of them. So I was able to just talk to them very much like at one table, very personally. And we were supposed to have whiteboards. For some reason, I forgot my whiteboard, but praise the Lord that I had like a sheet of paper and was able to walk through three circles with them. And at the end of it, I had them close their eyes and ask, if you wanna talk more, then raise your hand. And several of the teenagers did. And so it was just me and then one of the ministry partners. And so I was like, okay, well, I'm just gonna walk out to this door and hopefully someone from the team is out there. And the Lord provided because Tanya was right there at the door. And so I got to counsel two girls and they prayed to receive Christ. And then three boys went to talk to Tanya longer and they prayed to receive Christ. And so the Lord just provided just, I think through that I learned even in the middle of my nervousness or I don't have any anxieties or I don't know what to do. This is different. The Lord is gonna provide and it's the Holy Spirit really that does the work. So yeah. That's so very how the Lord provides because I was only there. This is why I was there. I was with my ministry partner, my translator and we tagged every classroom that we went in. So like if you went into this classroom and it had a green tag that said gospel, I would know gospel has already gone there. So I was on the gospel team that day and all of them had received everything. And so I said, let's just go collect all the tags so that we can load up. It was about time to go. And so Sophia and I went down, she was in the very far building, like way down. And so Sophia and I go down just to pull the tag and we get there and start to pull it. And Sophia says, oh, wait, there's a team inside. It's the gospel, it's Danielle. And I said, okay, well, we'll just wait and see if she needs help at the end. So we were only there to pull tags, what we thought but we were there because the Lord sent what was, yeah. So praise the Lord. Yeah. Praise the Lord, yeah. All right, so now we're gonna transition to Ryan. Ryan, you are a Honduras vet. You've been what, three times, four times? Yes, this is my third time. Yes, and I'm still convincing Ryan to come to YA guys so you better say hi to him and tell him the same thing. Tony, get him. But Ryan, you have seen the Lord show up time and time through several years. Can you tell us where did you see the Lord working on this trip? I definitely saw God through each member of our team. With the vacation Bible school stations that we had, the craft, the lesson, the gospel and the game with the verse, all equally pointed students toward Christ. And God used us and our talents, even if we felt like we fumbled, God still used us. Praise the Lord. And we always talk about it too. We love how the Lord like picks the team and like builds the team. And yeah, absolutely agree with that. Love to have you on it next year. Yes, all right. Wink, wink. All right, let's thank them and let's invite. And let's invite Sam, Malia, Paul and Sydney up in stage, please. Sam, you're gonna get a bonus question. Prepare yourself. Great. Great, great. Sam, you can get the mic first. Okay. Yeah, you're gonna go? Okay, okay. All right guys, so our next section, it's, okay, yes. All right, Sam, before you tell us your story, which I'm gonna ask a little bit later, can you tell us how training equipped you to serve? Well, training really helped me equipped to serve because this is my first international mission trip. So I had no idea what to expect. But it was nice seeing like during the whole six of trainings, just watching how it all flows, what to expect, what you expect out of the administration partners, what we're gonna be doing. It really prepares you for what's gonna happen on the ground when you're there. And I know Tanya likes to use this word a lot, flex adaptability. I think a lot of us in the team really learned how to use that that day, or that week, I should say. And yeah, it helped calm a lot of my nervousness in performing a mission trip. I was just thinking when you said that word, flex adaptability, I thought, oh, that's what he's doing right now. Speak on the spot. Great. Yeah, and so this section, guys, we've named it Everyday Gospel. And one of the things that we wanna highlight is that on the bus, we always talk about, and I love that you always bring this up, that you talk about after we've been all day in school, and we are getting back in the bus, there's this buzzing on the bus of all the stories, and everyone talking about how this all are working, what did they learn from the day. And we always stop, and just to, because sometimes you go through emotions, and you don't even name them, or you don't realize, or you just.

just go through it. And one thing that we talk about is that we are about the joy that comes from, you know, serving the Lord, right? And not only that, but also the joy that comes from doing what we were created to do, right? Which is to know God and to make Him known. So this is what all this section is about, like how do we do that, you know, and bring that back here. So I know I had a small introduction for you. I know you already talked, but I'm still going to do it. So we're going to start with Sam. And Sam, by the end of the week, or not even the end of the week, by the middle of the week, you were like preaching. You were like quoting Brother Steve. You were sharing gospel. You were counseling. You were doing games. You were doing all the things, right? But the week didn't start that way. I remember when we were, you know, waiting to get checked in at the airport, you mentioned you were a little nervous. Can you tell us what did you learn on the trip? So you were right. I was a little nervous. On the outside, I was fine. Inside, I was freaking out, just to put it in perspective for everybody. But I learned through the trip, because Brother Ben talks about it a lot, about knowing something up here, but not really knowing in here. And for me, that was learning how to trust God, because I'm the type of guy that, you know, when I see a problem, I just try to fix it myself. And that whole trip was very much not, that was not what was going on. And you were right. By the middle of the week, I was nervous. But through the, just learning to rely on the Lord, and Him giving me the boldness and confidence to actually share the gospel, it's really helped me to bring out my passion, bring out passion into sharing the gospel, especially by the end of the week on the last day. Because during the first class, uh, during one of the times of sharing the gospel, I thought I had fumbled that whole thing, sharing three circles to fifth graders. And by the end of it, when everyone, when I was given the question, if we would like to know more, pretty much majority of the class raised their hand. And I realized that it's not me, it's the Lord. And despite me feeling like I fumbled that whole thing, He spoke to each and every one of those kids' hearts and made them realize that, uh, they need Jesus in their lives. Amen. So, so good. Um, I, I think maybe you had taught the Bible lesson one day. Yeah. And somebody came out and they were like, Sam can teach the Bible. Oh yeah. Maybe he said that. I don't remember. I was really good. All right. Um, thanks for sharing that, Sam. So Malia passed the mic to Malia. Um, you're no stranger to missions. You've served with us on missions a whole lot, and I have loved getting to know you. I'm not going to cry. Um, but over these years, but just watching you grow in the Lord and your dependence on the Lord has been really remarkable over these last, what, three years or so. Um, because we've discipled together. We've just lived a lot of life together and it's been super exciting. Um, you're a great Bible teacher. Don't you cry. You're a great Bible teacher. You share the gospel like nobody's business. It's so, so good, but you really watch the Lord come through on this trip. Um, so tell us like, how has this propelled you to live life on mission? Yeah, absolutely. So at first I'd like to say that going into the trip, I think sharing the gospel was the thing I was most nervous about because I would never sit here and tell you that evangelism is like my number one spiritual gift. Like I'm some like mega evangelist or something like that, but truly going into the trip and coming out of the trip, it was my favorite part about the trip. And again, that's nothing I could give to myself. That was what the Lord did. That was not Malia. That was the Holy Spirit. Um, and I think we had a women's night one night and I think it really encouraged me, Tanya taught, um, and it was basically about how believers take action. They're intentional and just basically encouraging us, okay, what is your next step with the places that God has put you in and the things that he has given you? How are you going to steward that well in the next like part of your life? Um, and so on my mind a lot was two things. So the first one, I have this group of 11th grade girls that we meet on Sunday mornings and they are awesome. Um, by crazy events, I ended up in that class, um, unexpectedly, but I'd had it on my heart that I was like, I would really love to disciple some of these girls if they're interested. And I came up with every excuse in the book. Well, I couldn't do it. It was this, it was that it was this, it was that, but truly I felt on my heart in that moment, like, no, but like, it's not about me at all. And so taking those next, those next steps with them too. Um, I've been in that class for about a year now, but then also I think before coming into the trip, but what was stirred up in my heart, even more so coming out of that trip was being more intentional about learning about the Lord, I think is the way I can put that about learning more about his character, who he is. And also when you share the gospel, I think something that we all can learn is like, okay, but do I know for sure why I believe the stuff I believe? And not just because I'm convinced of it, but how could I, what scripture is that? What do I have to bring a defense to what I believe? Not in a defensive way, but if someone was to ask me, oh, why do you believe in the Lord or this information about God's character? Why do you believe this? Where would I know a scripture to back this up? Would I know the theology to back it up? And so I think coming out of that, I've really had a deepened desire to learn more about that and to have that defense when needed. That's really good. And we've all said, we're going to ask you in a couple of weeks, what you're doing, how the girl's coming. That's good. All right, Paul, you're up next. Um, share with us how you saw the gospel lived out each day. It should be ready. Um, just share with us about your time. So I think that one of the most encouraging things that I took away from the trip is it's my third year and two years in a row, I've gotten to encounter people who we witnessed to the year before that did not accept the gospel, that were not open to the gospel, but that somebody on our team shared the gospel with. And it's easy to leave those moments sad or frustrated or think that you failed or what did I do wrong? And then you come back a year later and they found Jesus and they've accepted Jesus and their lives are changed. They've been transformed. I remember the first year we went to a town called Lima and spiritually, it was a really dark place. There were a lot of Mormons and Jehovah's witnesses working the soil, and we didn't have a single profession of faith that day. But the next year we came back and revival had broken out in that town. And there were so many people that we had talked to. There was a lady that I talked to that she had found Jesus. And the same thing was true this year. There were people on our team that we had met the year before and they came back and they were excited. And it was such an encouragement to remember that all God calls us to do is to be faithful to the work, to just be willing to serve and to sow the seed. And ultimately that it's the Holy Spirit that does the regeneration. And it's not what we do, it's our willingness to be faithful and to see that there is a harvest. So often when we share the gospel, we don't get to visualize or see that. We never know. But to be blessed enough to come back and see that, it's a real gift to let you know that your labor is never in vain, that it's not in vain. What you do for the gospel has true eternal value. And so I think that is my favorite part of the last two years, that and just the overwhelming love and hospitality of the local church at Impacto. It's convicting. I try to be welcoming in the life group that I teach and try to host events and do things. And then I go there and I think, I have to do better. Because they're just so friendly and so welcoming. And I think that some of my favorite memories are just the friendships that I've made with some of the pastors and the guys on that trip and just being able to go and hang out while they were grilling steaks that night and just joke. And then we had a men's fellowship night and I was blessed enough to be able to teach it that night and be able to talk and just share Jesus and be able to hang out after and just share jokes and realize that the body of Christ is universal. That if you go somewhere and you meet somebody that loves and knows Jesus, that you have as much in common with them as any believer anywhere else in the world and more in common with them than a stranger that doesn't know Jesus. And that that is your family and that they love Jesus and that that is the bond that matters. That is the thing that lasts. And so I think those are the two best takeaways that I get from going each year. Yeah, one of those people that we saw that was our bus driver, Oscar. Yeah, we shared the gospel with him last year. He didn't like he didn't accept, but this year he prayed to receive Christ and I was such a blessing to see that. Yeah, praise the Lord. All right, Sydney. Hey, this was your first mission trip with YA and it was so much fun serving alongside you and JP. We taught that class too. And would you tell us about how did

you see the Lord show up in this trip, and how has this trip awakened you for greater missions? So as all of us have been talking, I'm sure you can hear God personally showed up for each and every one of us who went on the mission trip. God is so kind, and he is so personable like that. And the way that I saw him show up for me was I saw a bunch of elementary schools on the list, and there's a reason why I chose secondary education. If you guys know, I'm an eighth grade teacher. The little ones, I feel like I could step on them. So when there was only one middle school, and it was later in the week, I was a little nervous. So when we showed up to the first elementary school, I'm assuming I'm gonna be hanging out with seven-year-olds, I don't even know how old they are in elementary school. And I walk into an eighth grade class, and that's the first time I get to share the gospel of three circles. And so God is just so kind that he opened the door for me to be able to conversate with eighth graders, because that's really my sweet spot. And then those were the first students that I got to counsel with too, and I'm used to having hard conversations with my eighth graders throughout the year. So God really showed up for me in that way. And Tony already said there's no such thing as coincidences. I had an old volleyball teammate who used to call them God Winks. So anytime that we see a coincidence in our day-to-day life, that's God truly looking out for us. And the second part of the question had to do with day-to-day life. Yeah, awaken you for greater missions, yeah. Cassidy shared a Devo one of the mornings, something she had learned in her first year on a mission trip, so I'm kind of stealing this from her. She said that she had a mindset shift of we're not working for God, we're working with God. So as I've come back, and even on the trip, I really had to think to myself, I'm not out here trying to prove anything to God. God already knows my heart better than I do. I get to be working with God. I get to be a vessel for God. We're all broken people, and God is blessing us by allowing us to be here and share his gospel and give him glory, and it's for our good. And as I've been back at my school, I have tried to be more intentional day-to-day, not sharing the gospel every day, even though I know that the gospel can and should be shared every day, but figuring out where my coworkers are at with the Lord. And I feel like kind of making a game plan of sorts on how I can have those conversations. I know that there's a few other believers that we meet in a prayer circle on Friday mornings, and I'll ask them about teachers that I'm on a completely different hallway, saying, hey, do you know where this person is at with the Lord? We should really then be praying for them. And Tanya challenged us at a women's night on Thursday night when she spoke to be praying for lost people and praying for new believers. So it's just been more so at the forefront of my mind to be figuring out where are people with the Lord? What kind of conversations can we be having? Are we truly just encouraging some believers, which is what people need, assurance of salvation, encouragement, a boost, but then some people, they need eternal life with the Lord. So that's where I've been. Amen, thank you so much. All right, let's give them a round of applause, guys. And let's welcome Cassidy, Lundy, Nancy, and Parker. We can clap for them too, so it's not awkward silence as they walk up. That's great. All right, you won't get the clap afterwards, though. Write that down. Y'all can't tell, we're changing as we go. Doug is having some real flex adaptability moments up here, let me just tell you. Thank you, great. All right, Parker, there you are, good. So Parker, it was so glad to have you back in Honduras with us this year. Really good to have you back. So how did you see or where did you see God work this week? So we had been praying in advance, specifically for the Lord to open up people's hearts, to work in specific ways. I think JP had mentioned divine appointments. So a couple of those divine appointments were really like rededications or just working on people. So we were sharing the gospel in Santa Barbara and got to see a guy or meet a guy. I think Sidney was there, he was gambling while we approached him. So I was like, okay, well, this is gonna be interesting. So we got into the conversation and it was kind of obvious that he knew some Bible verses. And so I was like, okay, let's just stick to welcome to eternity, just make sure that he understands the gospel. So it turns out he had actually been in discipleship and it looked like he was convicted because he was like, God forgave David and we can return to the Lord. I was like, yeah, that's a great point. But there's consequences for David's sin in the story. And his family was torn apart because of that in certain ways. So we need the Lord to work in our lives and we need him to make us holy so that we live in his goodness. So he rededicated his life and I felt really felt like that was a divine appointment because I had been meditating in where he mentioned that story in first and second Samuel. And then Ryan was sharing the gospel and we were tag teaming when we do door to door. And this guy was identified as the person who needed the gospel to be shared with by his girlfriend. So she said, he's the one who needs to hear this. So he was a janitor at the church in I think this was also Santa Barbara. And Ryan did a great job sharing the gospel but he was very resistant. He was like, no, I'm just, I'm not ready to go to church. I'm not ready to go to church. And it was because he was living with his girlfriend and he had been previously married. So I just shared to him, well, he said it was because he was embarrassed to go to church. And I said, Jesus doesn't really care about how people think about us, but he cares about us. So got to share the story of how Jesus met the woman at the well and how Jesus wanted her to receive him in spite of the embarrassment, in spite of all of that. So he received it, but we just got to share the gospel in a unique way that sometimes it's just one of those, hopefully we'll be praying and see him next year because that was just a unique opportunity to share. And then also just being able to follow up after Doug had shared the gospel one time. I think Doug, you shared the gospel in a classroom setting and you said that one of the guys was really disruptive or he was really just like hyperactive or he was a class clown. And so I was finished with our sharing and we were outside and there was a lot of people waiting in line for counseling. So I was like, hey, Doug, do you need some help? And he was like, yes, absolutely. So we finally got a couple of these guys to come downstairs. There was three guys. I was very intentional about sharing the gospel and making sure they understand for themselves, making sure that they knew that this was like not something for popularity, making sure that they didn't look around and they were really serious. The Lord was really working in their hearts and each one of them raised their hand to receive Christ. And obviously it's not the raising of your hand that saves you. It's not the actions in that moment that save you. It's the business that we do with the Lord. So I just encouraged them. I was like, you need to receive Christ in your heart, whether it's now and we prayed words that they could repeat in their minds. But Doug basically was like, he told me afterwards, he's like, yeah, I was so surprised when that boy just raised his hand and came out there and he received Christ. And it goes to show that, regardless of where we think someone is, you never know how God's working in their hearts. So it's good to just be ready to share the gospel with them and not judge on outward appearances because you literally have no idea if it's gonna be the class clown or somebody who's gambling. So just seeing the Lord's provision in preparing people's hearts after we had prayed for months for this, which is really awesome. Yeah, I love the way that you ended that with, we just have to be prepared. We have to be ready. And the Lord is the one that prepares hearts. And that really brings it all home for us in this room because Matthew 28, Jesus gives us our mandate. He gives us our instruction. He gives us the great commission. It is not called a great recommendation. It is the great.

commission. This is our responsibility. It's not just to go to Honduras, it's not just to go here in Memphis, it's to go. And as we go, we are to share the gospel, we're to make disciples and do that. And my, one of my favorite things I think about this trip is that we're not on a rescue mission. So this is not just, hey, see you in heaven one day. This is Impacto goes back, or the local church pastors go back. They have a lot of follow-up work to do after this week. Praise the Lord. But they will go back and they will follow up with person after person after person. So we don't go in and you're hearing, okay, yeah, but now what? The now what is the people there are doing the discipleship. They are living out the other part of the Great Commission. And so it's really a tag team. So with that, we're going to move into the third section. Y'all stay here. Disciples who make disciples. So Nancy, I think it was, did I meet you last year, two years ago, last year? Yeah. We went through one-to-one together and every single week I was blown away at your pure love for the Lord. Week after week after week. And I think I mentioned to you right then, I want you to pray about going to Honduras with us. And you're like, okay, I will pray. And I know in your head, you're like, whatever, but I think you did pray. But I'm so grateful that the Lord puts you on this team. And I just watched you overcome so much on the journey there. But then also once we got there to see how the Lord came alive in your life was incredible. So I would just love to hear you share, how has the trip changed you? Well, I guess it was going to Honduras was a blessing and a privilege to serve the Lord. And it helped me to see that I don't want fear to continue stopping me from sharing the gospel. And it's just, I just want to continue to pray and ask the Lord to work in me and make me by making me bold and courageous and just walk in obedience. And like Tanya said, like go and make disciples to all nations, you know, and yeah. Okay. So with that, what is your next step in the Great Commission? My next step will be to stop waiting to go out of the country to share the gospel. We as believers and followers of Christ, I believe that we are called to live on mission, to share the gospel to the people around us, to our families, to our friends, co-workers, me, to my clients, praying for divine opportunities to just have those conversations because we're truly desperately in need for the Lord. Yeah. Amen. Thank you, Nancy. So we're going to move on to Cassidy. Cassidy, you're also a Honduras vet. You've been for four years. Yes. Three years. Okay. Well, fourth next year, I can come next year too. Can you share with us, how did you see the Lord working and how did he speak to you directly? Yeah, I feel like one of the biggest ways I saw the Lord move this year was through the Lord move this year, especially, I guess, just in comparing this year to other years that I've been is we had so much time at each location to really just counsel so many kids. Normally, like sometimes we have to take a two-hour, three-hour bus ride back to the hotel or the church and we're like a mad dash to get out to leave on time. So we don't get to stick around like as long as would be ideal to really make sure these kids understand like what's at stake, what the Lord has for them. But this year we had so much time, which allowed so many of the conversations that everyone's been talking about, which is just such a God thing that we get so much personal time with each of them because it is such an important decision, like it's life or death. And so in that, like one of my favorite parts of experiencing that myself was, you know, we have the gospel rotation where they hear the gospel and then, you know, they raise their hand to hear more and so they hear the gospel again because we just want to make sure that they know what it is that they may or may not be giving their life to. And so say they do decide to, you know, give their life to the Lord, we lead them in the prayer of salvation. And part of that, it's I would have them silently pray to the Lord on their own, like, okay, do some business with God and like work through your sin, like tell him what it is that you're repenting of, like be honest with him. And then, you know, they all have their eyes closed and I tell them, raise your hand when you're ready to continue. And, you know, they're all sitting here and they've said all the right things thus far, but sometimes you wonder, like, is this real for them? Like, I'm doing the best I can to make sure they understand, but sometimes you're like, I don't know. But, you know, when they're in that moment and they all start, like, raising their hands at different times, you can just see how real it is for them because they're actually taking that time to talk to God. And I just think that's amazing to see such a tangible, like, moment for them where it's just so real. And I just think that was such an amazing thing that God allowed me to see that he was just working so tangibly in their hearts, in their lives, for getting them prepared, like you said. And then in terms of like discipleship, sharing the gospel is such an important part of the Christian walk. Like you said, it's a commission, not a recommendation. And I feel like it's a hard step to actually apply to our lives sometimes. And so I feel like for me, like, I've been discipling girls all year, but something that me and my co-leader have really been praying about is like finding ways to take them with us to places and not just, oh, you should do this better or you should do it this way, but like taking them with us and we show them what it looks like, put them in the place with us so that they don't have to be like, oh, but this is so unknown to me. Like, I don't know what that's going to look like if they ask this question or what do I do if I don't know? Like, well, they can see us handle it and maybe the Lord will use that in their life. And then they won't feel so scared when the Lord gives them opportunities. And so I feel like that's just where the Lord's got me and just the things that he's shown me this year. And it's just been such a blessing. I love that. I love every year the Lord seems to give you a new something every year that you serve. And I love that. And something you said about bringing people along, that's what I'm watching Doug do often. I don't know if you know this about him, but you live out the gospel more than most people that I know in just such an incredible way, person by person by person. And this year you were leading an EvangelBuddy team, EvangelBuddies. I'm going to let Doug talk about it because I'm like, what in the world is that? That's a weird word. But that is part of discipleship, but it was part of our training as well. So tell us a little bit about what EvangelBuddies means and then how y'all did that at Shelby Farms and different places. Yeah. So EvangelBuddies is a part of the training. This training truly equips you to learn everything that you need to go to Honduras. And so what EvangelBuddy means is that we divide in groups of three to four people. And one of the things that we learned in the trip is we learned that welcome to eternity gospel method, which is a 45 to 60 minute conversation really that you have and you go through all the gospel with the person. So this is something that you go, there's one leader and then normally two people where you walk the gospel with. And you meet around six to seven times prior to go to Honduras. And in our case, I had the pleasure to be with Lundy here and Sam. And we just had a blast. These guys did not miss one training. And we met at Sundays at 7 a.m. And we just told each other about Jesus over and over again. So because what else, what's better to tell each other at 7 a.m. on a Sunday, right? But one thing that we did differently this year, and Cassidy, you hinted at this a little bit, is that we didn't just do it amongst ourselves. Like the very last training, we went to Shelby Farms and we found out about Evangelism on the Park, which by the way, you guys are all more than welcome to come. They meet every Sunday at 3 p.m. in Shelby Farms and just go around the park sharing the gospel. So Sam, Lundy, and I went on the very last training day and we did that. And it was such a blessing to do what you just said, right? To not only tell them, but also go and actually do it, right? With real people sharing about Jesus. So Lundy, tell us about how you use Welcome to Eternity training along with the Honduras training and how you're using that to encourage you to take your next step of faith. Yes, so I want to talk about the Shelby Farms experience. It was an amazing experience to go see different people from different ethnicities. We were able to speak with many Muslims or many non-believers and just see how God was working in their lives and just to listen to them and just understand them. And I was able to actually go to one instance where I was able to translate in Spanish and we were able to lead people in the gospel. It was a wonderful experience. And coming back with that motivation from Shelby Farms and coming from Honduras, I really hope to disciple some of you guys here. So I'm going to partake in the one.

to one discipleship, and I'm hoping to join some discipleship groups as well. And I'm really curious to start sharing more with my family and to try to understand and ask them the deeper questions because I know many of them are not of faith or a little bit confused about their faith. Thank you for sharing that, Lundy. All right, Tania, we've been waiting for this. Tell us about your favorite stories. Okay, I have so many, I'm only gonna share a few because of time. So first was in Santa Barbara. This was our first day, it was in Saturday, and we were doing park evangelism, which I've never done before in all the years. I've never done that. I've never done the Shelby Farms thing, none of it. And so there was in me, I said, okay, Lord, we can do this. And so we go and start sharing, and the ministry partner I was with said, hey, it looks like the park is covered. Do you wanna go inside stores and share? And I said, okay, are we gonna share with the workers or the customers? And he said, whoever will listen. Well, let's go. And so we go in. I think I'm not gonna share what kind of store it was, but it was an interesting store that we went into. And I was with a young adult age translator, ministry partner, his name was Jose, and he's amazing. But I was like, close your eyes. And so we go to the back, and we're talking to these three ladies, and they were the workers of the store. It turns out one of them owns the store. And it was her mom and her friend that was there with them. And so right there in the middle of the workday, they let us share the gospel with them. And we got all the way through like 45 minute conversation with them. And all three of them wanted to give their life to Christ, which is incredible. And at that very moment when I said, okay, it's not about a magic prayer, like Cassidy was saying, it's about what you're believing in your heart. You can close your eyes and you can pray after me. That very moment, they closed their eyes and a customer came in, had not come in the entire time. And somebody comes through the door, and Jose looks at me and he said, oh, no. And I said, well, just wait, we'll see what happens. And the owner looks at the customer and says, we'll be with you in just a few minutes, we're just about to pray. And I thought, she counted the cost, because who knows what that cost her to lose a sale in her store. Who knows what that struggle is? But she counted the cost and she said, Jesus is worth it. And she told the customer to wait. And the customer came on in and didn't end up waiting, ended up leaving. But those three ladies received Jesus, which is so much more than a sale could have brought them. So that was one of my favorite stories. It's just to see, they were so serious about needing the Lord in their life. Another one of my, I think, fun stories, part of it, piggybacks on yours at one of the schools in Santa Barbara, no, San Pedro School, his rowdy first grade boys. The reason he had them is because they all came to me. But I had boys and girls and they were really, really full of themselves. And so they're all sitting around me, but they all wanted to hear more. And so I want to share with them. And I see Doug coming past and I said, Doug, are you busy right now? And he was like, no. And I was like, take the boys. And so he took the boys. Thank you. And then I kept the girls. Y'all, I was sharing, they're first graders, so you're sharing in a kid's way to them. And I have this little flip book with pictures. And we get to this one picture and it has like a picture of a dark heart on it. And I'm about to talk about sin in our heart and what it looks like. At this moment, two of the little girls start crying in front of me. And I thought, interesting. Not because they're repentant, let me tell you. They were crying and I said, tell me why you're crying. And one said, because she told me I'm going to hell because I'm going to celebrate Halloween. And I was like, OK. Mind you, this is all being translated to me. And then I said to the other girl, I said, OK, tell me why you're crying. And she said, she crushed my fingers. I put my book down and I said, well, here's the picture right here that we're talking about. Well, one of those little girls gave their life to Christ. Praise the Lord. The other one did not. So we'll keep praying that the Lord works on them. That was one. But as we were having that conversation, I look up and there's a security guard that's making his way closer and closer. His name is Joseph. And so when I was done talking to the little girls and I sent him back to their class, I went to him and I just introduced myself. We started talking. And I said, I could tell you were lingering as we were talking. Tell me, what is that? Why were you lingering? I don't know what I asked him. I didn't say, why were you lingering? But whatever I asked him. And he said, actually, I heard God say to me that you had a message that I needed to hear. And I heard him say to me to move closer. And so I kept moving closer so I could hear the message. And I said, OK, let me share with you the message in an adult way. I didn't tell him that either. But so we went through Welcome to Eternity and probably spent another 30 minutes or so walking through scripture after scripture after scripture. And we get to the end and he said, this is the message I needed today. I need to give my life to Christ. That's the Lord pursuing people. Praise the Lord for that. And the last thing that I'll share is just, I think one of my greatest highlights was the very last day we were all at the schools. And it was part of when Parker stepped up and he's taking, what team were you on that day? Lesson or games, I don't even remember. I think it was lesson. Lesson. All right, so he's on the lesson team, which means he's only teaching the lesson. And I look up and he's counseling kids. And I said, praise God. I look up and Sam is counseling kids. And I look up and Cassidy is. And everywhere I looked, it was some person on our team with four or five students with them that they are walking through the gospel. It doesn't matter if they were supposed to be playing games that day. Whatever they were doing, the Lord put them with people. So they were prepared. They were ready. And that was just, it's a highlight etched in my mind. Because the Bible says for us, for me, this is my job and I love it. But we're to equip the saints for the work of the ministry. And so when I look out and I see our people doing the work of the ministry, it's a big highlight for me. Whew, I'm not going to cry about that. OK, Doug, share any other stories you want to share with us. No, praise the Lord about your last story. That was truly a miracle, guys. It was only like 15 of us. And there were kids everywhere. And every kid who needed to get counsel got counsel. And that was only the Lord could have done that. We didn't, no one even tried to do any math about how that was all working out. We just knew that the Lord took care of it. And we were so grateful for that. Not a story, but I do, the Lord always, or not always, I guess these last two trips, has placed a verse in my heart. Last year was John 6.63, which says that the spirit alone gives eternal life. Human effort accomplishes nothing. And that was very clear to me. Dan is still very much alive today. But this trip, it was from Ephesians 2.10, where it says that we are God's craftsmanship and that he created us in his image to do good works. And those good works, he says, he prepared ahead of us for us to do. So one of the things that we talked about was how we walked into so many of these conversations where hearts have been already prepared ahead of us, right? And how we walk into these schools where half of the school prayed to receive Christ. Like we went to, we talked to kids that initially had not raised their hands, but then there were the kids whose lives were clearly transformed by just hearing the truth. And all of these things, guys, this isn't only happening in Honduras. The Lord is working in our workplace, within our friends, in our families, right? And it's all about just making yourself available, right? The reason why we're able to even sit here telling all these stories was not about anything that we did. We just went and made ourselves available for a week and allowed the Lord to work in our lives and to allow the Holy Spirit lead us into those houses, into those conversations, and see the fruit that he was already prepared ahead of us for us to do. And the other thing is that, and I know many of us have talked about this too, is like when we're there, we wish that all of you guys were also there with us. It's like everyone in YA needs to experience this. That's the sentiment. We don't know how to tell you what you're missing out for not going. Like, I don't know. And I wish that there was a way that you guys could see the entire week through our eyes and see also what we felt there, like the joy of the Lord. And we really want to bring you guys with us. And that's the message that I want to leave you guys with too. I heard that there's a difference, like someone told me this, that there's a difference between happiness and joy. Happiness depends on what happens around you. Joy is the presence of the Lord in the situation. And the reason why we have so much joy when we're there is that we, at least myself, like I experience the presence of the Holy Spirit in that boss, like in those schools, like so strong that it's, and that's why we feel the way we feel. So praise the Lord for that. So that really is a good segue to another great opportunity. You have heard incredible stories.

tonight. And there are so many more. There are so many more. We could spend hours telling more. But our desire tonight is truly, and we talked about this before we came in, is that you do not leave here and you're like, oh, well done them or whatever. We do not want you to think anything about us because this was so not us. It was all about the Lord and all about what He did. It's His work. He just allows us to be a part of it. That is it. So next year, we have another opportunity for you to put your yes back on the table. It doesn't have to be Honduras, but it could be. And it would be great if it were. But that is an opportunity that you have. We're going to go back October 15th through the 22nd. Did y'all hear those dates? October 15th through the 22nd. You'll be hearing more about it. It's a year away. And I know that you're thinking, oh my goodness, I'll think about that next year. But we really do train for a long time. So we'll start training in April, which means we will start registering and all of that in January. That's only a couple of months away. So be praying now so that in January, you're ready to put that yes on the table because it'll be here before we know it. So with that, do we have a video that we can show for just a second? Okay, Doug, tell us why you encouraged people to pray about going. Guys, we saw so many, like the entire team just come alive in Honduras and just a testament that the Lord just needs you to put your yes on the table and he's going to take care of the rest. There's no fear, nothing that you need right now that you're thinking that the Lord cannot provide. So just trust in that. And I want to share with you guys that, you know, just not too long ago, I was seated right where you are listening to the trip that went before me and questioning like, why? Like, why do I not, why am I not like them? Like, why am I not, or potentially, why am I not going? Why do I not feel that, like, that desire to go? And the Lord taught me that he works through obedience, right? He wants you to say yes in your heart and he's going to take care of the rest. And I was in D group, Tania asked me, like, Sherry, what's on your heart? And when I, when I, when I, when she told me that, I was like, well, what's on my heart right now or what's on my heart that day? So I want to share what's on my heart right now. And it's, on Monday, I was in, I was in Tania's house in D group with James and James brought up a quote that I think just falls perfectly here. And he, he mentioned a quote from Adrian Rogers that says, don't feel your way into obedience, obey your way into, into the feeling. And, and, and I was, for a very long time, I was chasing the feeling to want to obey and it doesn't work that way. You obey first and then you chase that feeling afterwards. So I just want to, again, encourage you, encourage you to not ask why you should go, right? So ask, but instead ask what is keeping you from going and just surrender that to the Lord. He's going to take care of it.
