Hello and welcome to WORDTheatre Weekly: The Short Story Podcast where great authors and great actors meet! I’m your host, Cedering Fox, WORDTheatre's Founder & Artistic Director.
On March 18, 2023, at the American Legion in Hollywood, California, WORDTheatre presented HONOR: IN THEIR WORDS, an evening commemorating the 50th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War. Bill Pullman gave a haunting performance of Richard Bausch's Veteran's Night. Born in Benning, Georgia, Richard Bausch is an American novelist, short story writer and Professor in the Writing Program at Chapman University in Orange, California. He has published thirteen novels, nine short story collections, one volume of poetry and is also the editor of The Norton Anthology of Short Fiction. Richard served in the U.S. Air Force between 1966–1969. Here now, in time for Veterans Day, is the author introducing Bill Pullman's performance of his short story Veterans' Night.

RICHARD BAUSCH INTRO

Bill Pullman is as comfortable on stage as he is on television - did you watch The Sinner? His many notable films include leading roles in Spaceballs, Serpent and the Rainbow, Casper, While You Were Sleeping, Lost Highway and he played the President of the United States in Independence Day. If only he could play the president again come January 20th, The Equalizer films, Battle of the Sexes and The High Note. He is everywhere. And we are so lucky that he has been participating in WORDTheatre for many years.

And now, here is Bill Pullman performing Richard Bausch’s, “Veterans' Night.”
