One Gospel Minute

Memorials reverently honor the sacrifices made for our freedom, maintained by soldiers under God's established civil authority. The Lord's Supper, observed every Sunday, serves as the ultimate memorial, signifying Christ's sacrifice on Calvary for our sins, and facilitating our communion with Him. What blessings we enjoy in Christ!

David Hill: Memorials are respect for the price of life paid. Hi, I'm David Hill. God set up civil government, Daniel 4 and verse 17, for the order and safety of all, and gave earthly leaders power of the sword (Romans 13:1-7). In fact, He, God, says earthly rulers are His ministers. It's the soldier who assists us in providing for our own (I Timothy 5:8).

They provide protection from enemies who would harm, kill, and destroy freedom. Freedom comes at a great cost. Our liberty is enjoyed at the expense of many lives lost in payment for it. Those who have given all deserve respect and should be appropriately memorialized. The greatest memorial is the memorial feast Christians observe every first day of the week, the Lord's Supper (Acts 20:7).

We remember the body expended on the cross of Calvary and the precious blood shed there for the remission of our sins. A great memorial feast in which Jesus says, ";We commune with Him"; (Matthew 26:29). What blessings we enjoy in Christ! That's good news! That's the Gospel.
