Psalm 150. We've made it. We've come to the end. The Psalmist once again begins as he has the last few Psalms with this declaration. Praise the Lord.
Pastor Fredo Ramos:Praise God in his sanctuary. Praise him in his mighty heaven. Praise him for his mighty works. Praise his unequaled greatness. In other words, there is no greatness that quite matches his praise him with a blast of the ram's horn.
Pastor Fredo Ramos:Praise him with a lyre in the harp. Praise him with the tambourine and dancing. Praise him with strings and flutes. Praise him with the clash of cymbals. Praise him with loud playing cymbals.
Pastor Fredo Ramos:Let everything that breathes sing praises to the Lord. Praise the Lord. By way of reflection, Psalm 150, the final Psalm in this book, has been referred to oftentimes as the eternal Psalm, meaning that it gives us a glimpse into what the future of all reality will be when everyone has been redeemed by the blood and victory of Jesus Christ and we are led into the new heaven and the new earth with nothing but perfection and praise on our lips. Bear in mind that many of these Psalms, these prayers were prayed as people were on their way to the temple. And the temple was a way for us to recreate the heavenly dwelling place of God, but to give it kind of a physical reality here on Earth.
Pastor Fredo Ramos:And so the invitation is to recreate what we know we're going to, which is the new heaven, the new earth, which is a really a recreation of the original garden. And so Psalm one fifty kind of brings together both past, present, and future where we are all realizing that the invitation now is to praise God. This Psalm is a great reminder that no matter what you experience, no matter what feeling you might particularly have, they all end in praise. Whether you're confessing sin that leads you into a moment of forgiveness and joy, whether you're lamenting the reality that life falls apart, leading you to a place of, contentment because the Lord's plans will never be revoked, whether you're confused and feeling alone, that the joy of praying that because knowing that you don't necessarily get an answer, but you get the presence of God, Every human experience finds its final chapter in praise and in worship. This is, in fact, the eternal Psalm.
Pastor Fredo Ramos:And so today of all days, whatever you step into, know that your ultimate future is one of perfection and one of praise. And so why don't you practice for eternity by lifting your voice today with gratitude? Practice getting ready for the new heavens and the new earth with a song of Thanksgiving to God, knowing that one day you will step into that forever. And listen, for those of you who have joined us for this journey, I just want to say thank you. It's been an absolute treat as we have read through, all 150 Psalms.
Pastor Fredo Ramos:It's been an absolute gift, and I pray that you have developed a habit and a rhythm of communion with God. Let this final Psalm not be the end for you, but just the beginning of what it means to come before God with honesty and with a genuine heart to connect with him as his word guides us into prayer. It's been such a treat. We love you guys. Grace and peace.
Pastor Fredo Ramos:And for the last time, let's pray this Psalm into our day. Jesus, we hear you inviting us now to lift up a song of praise, knowing that eternity is around the corner where all we will experience is perfection and praise, where sin will be gone, death suffering will be gone. And this Psalm is a glimpse into that future where everything that has breath today praise you. We only have a certain amount of breaths today. And would we find ourselves using them not on gossip, not on complaining, not on sin, but on praise, on gratitude towards you.
Pastor Fredo Ramos:We lift up our voice to you now in prayer in Jesus name, Amen.
