Lemon Capy Love

They say the third time is the charm. I say the third time is the PhD.

I’m Lemon Capy—a Global Nomad, a recovering "Cool Girl," and a "Mathlete" (3 marriages, 2 divorces... you do the math).

I am not a therapist with a clipboard. I am a Processed Mess. I have a PhD in "doing it wrong" so that I could finally learn how to build a garden that is truly peaceful.

In this episode, I’m introducing the LCL philosophy:

The Mathlete: Why my "failures" are actually my greatest credentials.

The Method: Why we need Lemon work (acidic truth) to reach Capy energy (unbothered peace).

The Promise: Why this isn't about "Catching a Man"—it's about Building a Self.

I’m asking you to put down the heavy oars, stop rowing for two people, and finally figure out who you are.

Welcome to the garden. Let's get into the Sludge.

What is Lemon Capy Love?

Lemon Capy Love
Dating, Relationships, and Finding the Love that Fits

Navigating the chaos of modern dating with "Lemon" work and "Capy" energy. A podcast for those ready to stop pretending it’s easy and start admitting it’s worth it. Hosted by me, Lemon Capy, a Global Nomad who believes in finding the love that fits.

Welcome to the space where we stop pretending dating is easy and start admitting it’s worth it.

Hosted by a "Global Nomad" who has lived, loved, and navigated the messy "sludge" of modern dating across three continents, Lemon Capy Love is your guide to finding a partnership that actually fits who you are today.

Why the name? Because finding love requires the "Lemon" work (the sour, difficult, effervescent accountability) to reach the "Capy" energy (the relaxed, secure, unbothered vibe of the Capybara).

Whether you are navigating a new chapter, trying to break old patterns, or just tired of the "Cool Girl" act, join us as we explore what it really means to be Ready, Willing, and Able.

No games. No "one-and-done" pressure. Just real talk about finding your person—for a Reason, a Season, or a Lifetime.

Speaker 2:

Hello, and welcome to loving happy love. Now I don't wanna be presumptuous, but I'm guessing you may be wondering who this woman is chatting to you on this random podcast. Well, I'm so glad you asked. It is a fair question. So let's start with the easy stuff.

Speaker 2:

I'm a woman living in Australia. Even though this isn't my home country, I'm what you might call a global nomad. What does this even mean? It means I was born in one country, raised in another, and I'm currently living in a third. Now if you ask me where home is, well, that's where it gets a little convoluted and would have to depend on when you asked me.

Speaker 2:

See, I was born in and adopted from South Korea to be raised in the American South. I spent my teenage years in the Midwest. And then in my twenties, I got on a plane to Hong Kong. I thought it would be a short adventure, two to three years tops. Instead, I stayed for eighteen years.

Speaker 2:

Now while I was there, I got my permanent residency. I tried to learn the language, did not succeed. I met people from all over the world. Oh, and I divorced my first husband. Then, because I'm me, I met, married, and divorced my second husband.

Speaker 2:

And if that wasn't enough, a couple of years before COVID hit, I met the man who would become husband number three. Now we lived out the COVID years together in Hong Kong, and as soon as the borders opened, we knew it was time to leave. So we packed up our belongings, our cats, and moved here to Australia. So, yeah, in a nutshell, my passport is American. My birth country is South Korea.

Speaker 2:

For a long time, Hong Kong was home, and now Australia holds that place. Really the long way around for an answer that I think can be summed up with my home is where my two internationally traveled and resided senior cats are and my husband. Home is where I love. Those are the facts, but that doesn't really tell you who I am. So here it is.

Speaker 2:

I am someone who believes in love. Obviously, I've been married three times. I believe in being an active participant and finding the love that fits who you are. I obviously don't believe that one and done is done. One and done is the only measure of success.

Speaker 2:

I mean, I'm on my third marriage. Instead, I believe in finding the person that fits you now and hoping that you grow together. If you do, amazing. And if you don't, I'm a huge believer in having the strength to let go, to heal, and to try again. I believe people come into your life for a reason, a season, or a lifetime.

Speaker 2:

But I know, I know for an absolute fact that the life time part is a choice you have to make every single day. I'm also a full hearted believer in making mistakes. I have made just about all of them. I've loved with everything I had. I've lost myself in the process.

Speaker 2:

I've tried to fit an ideal. I've settled for far less than I deserved. I've had my heart broken. I've been lied to. I've been cheated on.

Speaker 2:

I've been the one to walk away and I've been the one left behind. And through all of that, I never became jaded. I never became cynical. I still wanted to share a life with someone, to have fun, to grow old together. So I got back up on that really tall, really temperamental horse and I tried again and again and again.

Speaker 2:

Because see, I believe love is something you cultivate. That philosophy is actually why I named this podcast Lemoncappy Love. The lemon comes from my husband. He has this wonderful habit usually right before he solves a problem of saying lemon lemon really difficult. It's it's his way of saying that even things that seem hard, for instance, like dating, they aren't actually that difficult once you decide to put in the work.

Speaker 2:

And Cappy? That's the capybara, the world's most social animal. They literally just chill with everyone. They have this relaxed, secured, nonjudgmental energy. They mind their own business and they live by their own rules.

Speaker 2:

And that is the energy I want for you. The willingness to do the lemon work combined with the Cappy confidence. So that's me. But I'm more interested in you. Who are you?

Speaker 2:

Another deep question. And while I don't know for sure, I have a hunch. Maybe you're someone who wants companionship, true partnership, not just that inertia that keeps people together. You want the kind of relationship that warms your soul and surprises you. Look, maybe you've had your heart broken or you felt lonely even when you were in a relationship.

Speaker 2:

Maybe you're just, I don't know, fed up. Fed up with accepting less than you deserve, especially when you know you can find someone who gets your special brand of crazy. Or maybe you're here because doing it alone is just too heavy right now. You need an impartial third party, someone who wants the best for you, someone whose only expectation is that you try. If that sounds like you, welcome.

Speaker 2:

This is your space. Here, you can listen to my stories, my insights, my mistakes. Chances are they're going to make you laugh and hopefully make you think. And mostly, I hope they make you feel a little less foolish and a lot less alone. I think that about covers it.

Speaker 2:

So with that, thank you. Thank you so much for joining me for this first episode. I truly hope you're feeling a little less alone in this process.
