Hi. I'm Josh, and welcome to agriculture in a minute with the Minnesota 4-H agriculture ambassadors. In this episode, I'll walk you through the process of prepping a slick shorn market sheep for show. Showing livestock in four h has been popular since the beginning of the program. Whether you're in FFA or four 4-H, you will have the opportunity to show sheep.

Speaker 1:

Assuming we're we're starting with an unshorn sheep, start by washing your sheep with a livestock safe soap. Work this soap throughout the wool and rinse. Once the sheep is clean, dry with a large animal blow dryer. When the sheep is dry, use your shear to shear down to their skin and shear everything, but leave the wool and hair below the knee. Use a thicker brush to fluff their legs and blend the wool using a clipper.
