Dr. Amos Ladouceur:

Welcome to the Lavi Podcast. Hi, I'm Doctor. Amos LaDusser. I grew up in a Haitian household in Brooklyn, where my father's words Keep going shaped everything I became. Like many kids in the 80s, I religiously watched The Cosby Show.

Dr. Amos Ladouceur:

Seeing Doctor. Hustlebo every week on screen inspired me to want to become a doctor myself. That's the power of positive images. They plant a seed that grows into possibility. Later, I found real life heroes pioneers like Doctor.

Dr. Amos Ladouceur:

Keith Black and Doctor. Bette Carson. African American neurosurgeons who showed me what excellence truly looked like. That inspiration carried me from NYU to Columbia Medical School and eventually to Cedars Sinai here in Los Angeles where I trained in neurosurgery under Doctor. Keith Black himself.

Dr. Amos Ladouceur:

It was a dream come full circle. But my story didn't stop there. When I opened an urgent care in Baldwin Hills, a proud predominantly African American community, that's when I discovered my true mission. Too often, I wasn't just treating illness, I was watching preventable disease steal lives. A patient who died of cervical cancer that could have been caught earlier.

Dr. Amos Ladouceur:

A young man only 35 who walked into my clinic with colorectal cancer. These moments changed me. I realized that medicine isn't only about intervention, it's about information, it's about prevention, and it's about representation. That's why I created Lavi, which means life in Haitian Creole, the language of my family and my roots. To me, Lavi is about living fully, with purpose, and never settling.

Dr. Amos Ladouceur:

And this podcast is an extension of that mission, bringing you the science, the stories, and the strategies that can add life to your years. Here, you'll hear patient cases that teach us hard but necessary lessons, conversations with brilliant doctors across the country, and practical habits you can apply today to live longer, healthier, and stronger. Because health isn't just about surviving, it's about thriving. So join me on this journey. Subscribe now to the LiveVee podcast.
