What is Charted?

Like a master surveyor, Jesus gives us clear directions to find a fulfilling, purpose-filled relationship with Himself - a map to the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Charted is a daily devotional written by the junior class at Fountainview Academy (Class of 2019). Based on the book Steps to Christ, this book explores the path to the Originator and Provider of Genuine Joy. We don't have to be confused about the way. The certainty is in the journey: divinely Charted.

You are as a child born into the family of God, and He loves you as He

“I’m going to return the cart—I’ll be back shortly,” my grandma
informed me. We had just finished shopping at the Flemington Market,
which was flocked with hundreds of people.
“Okay, Grandma,” my seven-year-old voice replied as I waited
for her in the boiling car. Although the car was parked in a shaded
parking lot, the typical heat of a summer day in Australia caused it to
become a steamer. Thoughtfully, my grandma had left the windows of
the car slightly opened, so that I wouldn’t cook inside the car.
As I sat toasting on the front seat, I heard strange music begin
to crescendo to top volume. I soon discovered that the odd music was
blasting from a car which was quickly drawing closer. As I observed
through the rearview mirror, my eyes caught sight of a man getting out
of his car and walking towards me.
Frightened, my sweaty body froze in the front passenger’s
seat. I pushed myself against the backrest and tried to become
invisible. Reaching the car, the man skillfully fit one of his hands
through the crack in the open window right behind me. I was
absolutely terror-stricken! Apparently, he had seen my grandma’s
purse and wanted it. Greedily, he snatched it from the back seat. With
the precious prize in his possession, he managed to slip his hand back
out the window. He then joined the rest of his crew in their vehicle and,
to my relief, drove away.
To this day, I don’t know how the thief didn’t see me. If he had,
my life story would probably have turned out differently. I believe that
because God has a special plan for my life, He saved me, His beloved
child.
