Hope On The Rise

What is Hope On The Rise?

Daily wisdom and biblical principles for enriching your life with Dr. Bob Rhoden

I’m convinced we are on to something good as we talk about Unshakeable Faith. This idea can change your life but it can also be very frustrating if you create expectations that are unrealistic.
It’s unrealistic to always put a time frame on what we ask for in faith.
The great faith chapter Hebrews 11
includes a list of people who were all commended for their faith yet none of them received in their lifetime what had been promised.
It’s unrealistic to think our faith must be perfect for God to respond. The man who brought his child to Jesus in Mark 9 said, Lord I believe, help my unbelief. To his surprise and delight Jesus delivered the child from the evil spirit.
It’s unrealistic to believe that a past failure can prevent God from ever using you in the future. Think about Peter and John who failed the prayer test on the Mount of Olives on the night Jesus was arrested, but in Acts chapter 3 they are going to the temple at the time of prayer. They refused to dwell on a failure that occurred a little more than 50 days earlier. And so a man crippled from birth was healed as they said to him, in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth walk. Taking him by the right hand the man jumped to his feet and began to walk.
I think you get the point. Unshakeable Faith is acting on what you believe but not relying on your perfect record to persuade God to make something happen. Unshakeable Faith has confidence that God is working for our ultimate good and that nothing is impossible for Him.
So I invite you to do the natural and expect God to do the supernatural.
The natural is for you to pray asking God in the name of Jesus for whatever you need. Then expect him to do the supernatural. You can’t go wrong. That’s straight out of John 14:13, “And I will do whatever you ask in my name so that the Son may bring glory to the Father”.
And that’s Hope on the Rise for now!
