What is Clydesdale Media Podcast?

We also bring you Breaking News, Human Interest Stories and report on the Methodology of CrossFit. We also use the methodology to make ourselves the fittest we can be.

It is Monday,

and I usually say we are back and

better than ever.

But I am flat out exhausted.

But we're going to do it anyway.

From the gym to the screen, yeah,

we cover it all.

Midday motivation every time you press

call.

Lunch with the Plies,

they'll cowboy bring the heat.

Crossfit, boobies, music on repeat.

Half hour hustle, yeah,

we building that brand.

Grab a plate, tune in now,

you part of the fam.

It's lunch time.

What's going on, everyone?

Hey, y'all.

I don't even know how that's going to

come out until it starts rolling off the

tongue.

That's what makes it great.

I don't know which version I'm going to

do.

It's whatever mood strikes me.

That is what makes it great.

That is what makes it great.

Is Meg calling us ladies,

or is she saying I'm the ladies in

the chat?

You think I'm in any way, shape,

or fashion concerned about what Meg is

calling me at that point?

When it comes to Meg,

I'm very much sticks and stones may break

my bones type deal.

Ladies may actually be one of the higher

compliments.

That's probably an upgrade.

Yes, that is probably an upgrade.

oh i believe that i believe that

wholeheartedly um well what up how was it

well i will say that we're gonna do

a full like wrap up wrap up yeah

tomorrow night with carolyn on everything

um i had a blast dude i awesome

it is

I mean,

I don't want to do the comparison thing,

but of a lot of the events that

I have attended over the last several

years,

I really enjoyed myself at this one.

I think kudos to the WFP.

I think they took a lot of constructive

feedback from year one.

have made significant changes from what i

can tell uh to really improve the product

on the floor and dude every event i

felt like was a big deal nice you

know and jamie and i were talking you

know yeah there were twenty events at the

games

And that was supposed to be, like, brutal.

But there were people after the games

going, yeah, it was twenty events,

but I feel pretty good after the games.

Right.

I don't think you're going to have a

single person after WFP this weekend

saying they feel good.

Especially not Pat Belner.

Because it... Every workout was...

well-designed to whoop that ass,

as they'd say on... It was crazy.

But that's what makes it fun for a

spectator.

Like, you know there's traps.

You know there's things.

Or it was something cool and different

that we haven't seen,

like the bench or the combine, right?

It just had a lot of different elements

that...

I feel like everybody's trying to get too

tricky and maybe you just hit it down

the fairway.

Last year,

WFP did every Olympic lift for the year.

This year, they've done

All the powerlifting stuff.

They started with the deadlift.

Now they did the bench press.

I'm assuming we're getting the squat and

Copenhagen.

Would make sense.

Right.

And so when you can see the stuff

and a lot of those things you can

compare to yourself,

it's real easy to then look and go,

well,

this is my one rep or this is,

and then the combine stuff.

you can compare to other nfl athletes and

see like how did these guys do against

the nfl and when hannah when um amy

kringle beats like a list of nfl people

at the combine that's pretty crazy um and

again i think last year i was critical

because i think they were trying to be

crossfit part two

Yeah.

This year,

I feel like they're trying to be WFP.

Which is what they should have been doing

in the first place,

but we already know that.

But at least they learned, right?

At least they learned.

I was going to say,

I'm glad that you noticed that.

I'm sure if it was noticeable to you,

it was noticeable to everybody else that

It's hard for some people to take all

the criticism that got lobbed at them

because it was a whole lot and then

take it and not just go, yeah,

F y'all,

we're going to do whatever we want and

actually listen to it and go, okay, well,

let's make some adjustments here, there,

and yonder and see if we can kind

of fix this and get this right because

we want people to onboard.

We want people to come in.

We want people to compete and come and

spectate and support vendors and do all of

the things.

And if you can take that as constructive

criticism and run with it,

and make it better,

then so much is better, man.

That's awesome.

You know, you've said it a million times.

Jason Ainsley knows how to run a

competition.

The man does.

There are a handful of people in this

fitness world that we live in who know

how to run competitions.

He is one of them.

Yes.

Will Supak is another.

I think Dylan Malitzky is getting to that

point, right?

Yeah.

There's a handful of people that,

you know, when their name is on it,

you can trust that it's going to be

a good product.

Absolutely.

And, um,

and I want to address this too, uh,

cause Shannon has been saying this all

weekend about all the injuries.

There really were only two devastating

injuries out of a hundred athletes.

And in sports that just happens.

You're pushing yourself to the limits.

It's sports.

But honestly,

there was Pat's injury and there was

Quinn's injury and the rest were tweaked

hamstrings.

The rest were like a tweaked calf or

a plantar fasciitis.

No worse than any,

like Rogue had two popped Achilles at

their event and nobody's dogging them.

I think people,

we've got to get past this like living

in the past stuff in this fitness world.

Like WFP has improved tremendously.

We should be given credit for that and

not dog for every little thing that goes

wrong.

And the same can be, if,

if CrossFit fully changes over to

something new, they should be forgiven.

And we move forward with the thing that's

working.

That's what I was going to say as

well.

It's not just for them.

That's for the majority of the stuff that

we do.

Pick a comp.

It doesn't really matter.

Yes, people are going to get hurt.

It's going to happen.

It's not inherently unsafe to do a bench

press.

It's just not.

No.

It's not inherently unsafe to sprint.

My buddy tore a pec doing a bench

press in a Globo gym.

Oh, yeah.

One of my dudes at my gym tore

his pec last year doing the same thing.

At our gym.

Like, it happens.

So, like,

I think that people are just looking for

that negativity to, like,

to go after them.

And I don't think it's there.

Yes,

there was tweaked hamstrings in a

four-yard dash.

Go to the NFL Combine.

You're going to see tweaked hamstrings.

Right?

Will did the best he could.

He gave ten weeks notice before that.

Yeah.

So that people could prepare for that

event.

And honestly,

it would have been different if they had

showed up on, you know,

whatever day they all showed up on for

check in.

And then they were like, oh, yeah,

by the way,

we're going to run a forty hour dash

Friday morning.

That's one thing.

But like you said,

you had plenty of advanced warning time.

Hey, bro, get ready.

You're going to have to do this.

You have to do a forty hour dash.

You're going to have to do a five,

ten, five sprint.

be prepared for it so that you can

minimize the fact that it might happen.

It happens to experienced sprinters on a

regular basis.

People that don't do the stuff that we

do, which is constantly varied and,

you know,

doing this now and this later and whatnot,

it happens to actual track athletes and,

So, Shanna,

this was not an attack on you.

It was a narrative I heard a lot

online and in shows.

You're just the trigger that set it off

today.

Yeah, you just happened to mention it,

Shanna.

Sorry.

And she's asking if they keep track

because Legends doesn't, CrossFit doesn't.

And I do think it is something that

they should.

But to your point,

even people that do this stuff every day,

like the NFL is full of explosive athletes

that run.

Forty yards at a time.

Look at their injury reports and they do

it every single day.

Yeah.

And there are people with tweaked

hamstrings up and down the injury list.

Absolutely.

And they don't stop doing it.

I mean, you know, it's like, oh, well.

Tweak my hamstring.

I can't run for the rest of my

life ever.

I don't know.

I didn't get to watch Saturday.

I had two children's birthday parties to

attend.

I was hemmed up all day.

And yesterday I was yard work and all

the other stuff, church.

So all I got to see was Friday.

But the stuff I saw Friday, I mean,

it looked well run,

looked well put together.

I mean,

aside from the pig falling on Pat's foot,

which...

What only fell on his foot because his

Achilles had popped right before that.

Right.

And poor cat freaking out on camera.

Well, and this is the good thing.

Medical was there within five seconds.

Yeah.

And slab lifted up the...

the um the sled and got it off

of him in seven seconds like you don't

see that response at every event no so

good on them yeah um i want to

address this with john george i think this

is the problem that that people need

taught about the wfp it's different than

other crossfit competitions

It is not about the weekend.

It's about the season.

So when you look at events singularly at

an event like WFP,

it may not make sense because it's one

of twenty five events for the season.

Because your goal is to win the overall

season and finish top twenty to get

guaranteed money next year.

Yep.

And if I have one criticism,

and I know PC's in the comments about

this,

I think that their marketing focus should

be on the season, not on the weekend.

Yeah.

To avoid the confusion.

Yeah.

Because when you come in,

and I'll admit I kind of understood it,

but when I watched it this week live,

it totally sunk into me.

That you are there to get as many

points in each event as you can so

that it adds up for your grand total

at the end.

Yeah.

Not that it doesn't matter what you do

on the weekend,

but you're not necessarily there to win

the weekend.

You're there to try to win the entire

season.

Right.

Yeah.

Right.

And that became very evident to me.

It's like the PGA Tour.

You don't have to go to every PGA

Tour event during the season as a pro

golfer.

You pick your spots,

and then the season total at the end

gets you to the PGA Championship.

Yeah,

trying to maximize your points the best

you can.

And so...

As I was trying to explain that to

people,

then I would see them talking about who

was winning the weekend,

and then it just muddies the waters a

little bit.

I still had an awesome time.

I still thought it was a great event.

But once my mind clicked into that,

it made it even more.

So, like,

you see Quinn Robinson go out to the

floor and not do anything.

In slides.

Right.

And he gets four points for that event

because three people withdrew and he

showed up.

Because those three points make if he can

recover in time and he goes to Copenhagen,

then that actually means something.

Right.

And I've seen comments about what about

minimum work requirements?

It's not needed in this event because

there's twenty five events.

Right.

Right.

It's not a winner take all over the

over the one weekend.

Right.

You're building points over the thing.

And I think, like you said,

if we're picking out something to

criticize, making that more clear that,

yes, this is happening this weekend.

Yes,

somebody is going to be the winner of

this particular competition this weekend.

Ultimately, Copenhagen is what matters.

Getting there and getting all your points

accumulated and all that good stuff.

just like scotty scheffler won the pga

event this weekend and he got prizes for

that that's all well and good but he's

really trying to win the overall

championship at the end of the pga season

right right um and and you know we

talked about like not forgetting the past

I'm really going off on John George today.

Guy is a prime example of that.

The guy asked for a bike three years

ago,

and we have not let him live it

down since.

The guy is a multiple-time top-ten games

finisher.

He is phenomenal at the WFP.

And, dude,

watching that guy broad jump look like

Superman was unreal.

Like, gave me goosebumps.

Scott texted me right after he jumped and

said, he just jumped out of the building,

FYI.

You just don't see that kind of

athleticism every day.

It's like his jump.

I don't know the feet or whatever,

but there were hash marks on the line.

Like Carolyn was the only female to get

over the fourth hash mark,

which was really impressive.

There was a fifth hash mark,

and Guy was the only human being to

get over the fifth hash mark.

Jesus Christ, ten feet.

wow it was i mean and i'm i

was super impressed with carolyn too like

for for a woman and she's not the

tallest person in the in the world and

to get over that fourth hash mark was

unbelievable here's what i love about

carolyn privo

she has been screaming to the rooftops for

years that she wanted to do this thing.

Right.

Like she, I'll be a sprint cut.

You know, she's been saying, and saying,

and saying, and saying it.

And then she came out and showed everybody

why she's been saying she wanted to do

it.

Yeah.

She was like, no, no, no.

This is why ready.

Because I'm about to smash everybody.

Like that was,

that was outstanding to watch.

Larry thinks it was ten-three.

Oh, darn.

Only ten-three.

And then watching Kringle do the forty.

A woman going sub-five in the forty.

They were talking before that that was

impossible.

The people I was around were saying,

a woman cannot go sub-five.

Until one did.

And then you're just like,

I mean, it's true.

So, wrong.

He especially doesn't represent CrossFit.

Carolyn works her ass off to maximize her

results.

Results, a hundred percent.

He dies.

Just doesn't.

Just doesn't.

He's just blessed, but lazy.

How you cannot call a man lazy that

his gymnastics work is impeccable.

The guy just doesn't have an engine.

He has all the talent and he works

at everything he does.

He just dies because he doesn't have an

engine.

And maybe he's just blessed with so much

quick burst muscle.

He's one giant fast twitch muscle.

Right.

And that's just the way it is.

He could run every day for the next

six months and not get enough better at

those events to matter.

And Carolyn even says that with swimming.

Why does she work on swimming so she

can go up two places in swimming and

get four points instead of one point?

I know how she feels.

I know how she feels.

Every time I have to,

I know I have to swim at a

comp.

I'm like, okay,

let's go get back in the water.

I get back in the water.

And like, I, the results are the same,

whether I swim or whether I don't swim.

It really doesn't.

It doesn't seem to make that much of

a difference.

It's just I get comfortable back being in

the water is pretty much all I'm going

to the pool for.

I understand that.

Amanda says,

one female on the team is even faster

than Crinkle.

Yeah, she ran a four-seven.

Jesus.

Like high four-seven, four-seven-eight,

something like that.

It is absolutely insane.

Insane.

Yeah,

and that is what the combine does because

these are things that you can compare and

understand the athleticism.

Well,

some of you can wrap your head around.

I cannot wrap my head around a

two-and-eighty-five-pound snatch.

I just can't.

I know it'd be heavy.

I got that part down,

but I am never going to snatch three,

three-fifteen,

something along those lines.

It's just not going to happen.

I know how fast four-point-seven seconds

is.

Yeah.

I know how hard that is to do.

I ran a five,

three at fricking whenever we did for

monster games.

And I'm thinking myself as being fairly

quick and turns out I'm not.

How about that?

Even Quinn going four, four is,

is inconceivable.

Let me tell you something.

Quinn Robinson is right up there with

James, as far as I'm concerned,

as in you either love Quinn Robinson or

you are wrong because the videos of him

coming back is like,

I had absolutely no idea I could do

that.

He said,

I didn't even know how much that was

going to be a thing.

Okay.

Yeah.

Apparently I'm pretty fast.

How about that?

Yes, Mark Phillips.

Does Quinn Robinson have any eligibility

left?

Well, all that's debatable right now.

I think we're getting a court ruling on

Thursday.

We could probably get Quinn on a team

somewhere.

Well,

Quinn's never declared for the draft,

as far as I can tell,

so he should be good to go.

He's got eligibility left.

We can get him on the field.

The best thing about college sports right

now is that Judge Wapner has more

authority than anybody else.

Judge Judy.

Judge Joe Brown.

Pick a judge.

It doesn't really matter which one it is.

Oh, you went all the way back.

Judge Wapner.

The people's court.

Yes, I still remember the theme music.

And then you see Lane Kiffin open up

the doors to the back of the people's

court as he strolls in.

Here's Lane Kiffin.

A four seven forty yard dash is max

speed of twenty miles an hour.

It's just the

It's something to wrap your head around.

It really, really is.

Here's what I want to say.

Okay.

Yeah.

They didn't judge the start.

The laser started a yard after the start.

I don't give two shits.

No.

That's fast.

It's still fast, dude.

I love people talking about that.

One yard.

Yeah.

It's not exactly right.

No, it's not exactly right.

It's still unbelievably fast.

You can add, like,

I think it's three-tenths of a second to

it and make it comparable to what the

NFL guys are running.

I think they went a second,

or a .

one-five, .

five.

I don't know.

There is a conversion for it.

It's not much.

It's still stupid fast.

Well, it's not exactly the same.

No,

it's not going to be exactly the same.

OK,

those guys are also also most of the

NFL guys that are in the doing the

combine like twenty two,

twenty three years old.

We have some of that going on,

but we have the whole range.

For Christ's sake,

Patty V is a thousand years old.

He looked good in the combine, man.

Yeah, he did.

Yeah, he did.

Say what you want.

My man learned how to run like he

got tired of getting beat on him sprints.

She's graphics thinks it's a point.

Oh five is the, which is even,

which is even less of a thing to

even bring it up.

I didn't, I did not.

Yes.

Quinn is like forty five.

I think I went to high school with

Quinn.

Hey,

Quinn was a freshman right when I

graduated.

What?

Okay.

So Larry's making a great point here.

Like the different tests for the athletes

this weekend.

You had the bench.

You had the combine.

You had the ten K.

We went all over the spectrum.

Then you have that last event with the

muscle-ups into the handstand walk into a

heavy snatch that knocked people out.

Let me see if I can fry my

lats completely.

Because that's what that's going to do in

case y'all were wondering about it.

You're going to do a bunch of muscle-ups,

and you're going to get upside down.

All of that's lat core slash engagement.

And then, oh,

let's go ahead and try to snatch at

that point.

Good luck.

Yep.

And a lot of people failed.

Yeah.

I believe it.

That snatch was out there taking lives.

It was.

It was crazy.

God bless Patty V.

He gave us so much entertainment over the

course of all the years.

It sucks,

but it's almost fitting that he got taken

out by something in his very last event,

in his last thing,

because that seems to have been a theme

going all the way back.

This tells you who Pat Vellner is, right?

He shows up on Sunday.

And does the broadcast and walks in for

the first time ever and is as good

as anybody.

He had a story for every person they

talked about.

Well, yeah,

he's been knowing them all for forty years

now.

Yeah,

but he even knew the new guys like

he knew that and he had a story

about them like that shows you how

connected that dude was.

to the the whole community i think the

only person patty v net didn't get along

with back there was uh what's his name

crossfit cowboy guy you no not me sean

uh sean sean sweeney sweeney yeah that's

about the only person he ever because he

threatened sean he's gonna beat the out of

him captain in the locker room i like

that i think that's that's the perfect

I like that a lot.

Yeah.

Um, Barry says,

I wish he had a larger tribute.

I'll tell you what the speech he made.

Um,

I'm about to go check that out after

the bench press.

Cause they, they did leave,

let him come back out and do the

bench press.

So we didn't finish with a fail.

Right.

And, uh,

and then they talked to him after, dude,

I don't think there was a dry eye

in that venue.

Oh, Paul, Paul, Pat.

Um, like John George said,

it's almost a perfect ending.

Of course he went out getting smashed by

the flips.

Of course he did.

I mean, he fell off the rings, what,

three times at the games.

And then he comes over here and like,

you know,

his Achilles pops and he drops the

frigging flip flat on himself.

Of course he did.

Why wouldn't he?

When he was doing the commentating,

he was telling a story about people coming

up to him and asking how to come

back from a rough start.

He goes,

I don't know why they'd ask me.

I've never had a real rough start.

I don't understand.

That's kind of crazy.

I just thought that was normal.

Yeah.

Everybody didn't do that?

Was that just me?

Man.

I'm finding out all kinds of new things

I didn't know.

uh the fact he benched three something

with no leg drive is wild like one

heel leg drive if if that oh look

we we bench a lot at the gym

and every time i coach it that's one

of my my points of performance make get

your feet flat on the floor understanding

what you think you're doing which you need

to be connected all the way through so

you can drive with legs and arms and

core all that good stuff

uh i loved that pat commentated after yeah

lex it was so good it was so

good and him and catcher and i thought

had a good like repertoire back and forth

um john george every young guy talks about

pat in a very positive way he's liked

by everyone i'm glad he came back this

year good for him yeah um

Yeah, so again,

we're going to do a full recap with

Carolyn tomorrow night since she

participated in all this.

Sure did.

And I got to talk to her after

her final event.

We had a nice conversation.

She really had fun.

I'll tell some of the funny things we

talked about tomorrow night with her.

Make sure you check that out.

I'm guessing it'll be eight p.m.

Eastern time tomorrow night.

I'm assuming maybe, kind of, sort of.

I thought nothing was scheduled yet.

I know Carolyn starts back to school on

Wednesday.

Just go out there, crush the Combine.

Kick ass at the WFP and then, oh,

yeah,

I got to do a lesson plan for

Wednesday.

Right.

I would teach the future.

I teach these children's.

Ortega says, also,

Prevo is good at throwing a football.

I think it was Jonathan that showed me

video footage of her chucking a forty-yard

pass.

Wouldn't surprise me.

She's an athlete, dude.

She's an absolute athlete.

All the way through.

Skin down and bones.

David Reed, never been a fan of Eleanor.

That's why that's sports.

right we are fans of different people and

that is okay can i say who i'm

a fan of right quick shanna bunce miss

shanna bunce this is from the year she

won fyi she sent this to me as

a

Good luck charm.

All of that good stuff.

Pretty excited about it.

She said she'd like me to see me

wear it on the air,

but I'm not real sure how it's going

to fit.

It's a medium.

I say we go for it.

Tune in Thursday.

I mean, I could put it on.

I just don't know how.

Good news about these.

This is the noble era,

so this should be nice and stretchy.

Give me a second.

FYI.

It came by bicycle.

I know I sent you a picture of

the envelope, but what you can't see,

and I don't know what I did with

it.

I thought I still had it because I

wanted to keep it.

The envelope looks like it's been through

some shit.

It took over a month to get here.

Wherever it was at,

it looks like it's been through war.

It looks like it's been...

Well,

it's been across the country like three

times, I think.

It passed by my house twice.

Once going all the way to Atlanta and

then turned and came all the way back.

And like,

you're not gonna be able to see it

good.

They're like,

this is supposed to be just white.

And it's all,

it looks like it's been a braze right

there.

Where she wrote on it is now faded.

Like where she wrote her stuff.

I just put her address on the screen.

Sorry, Shanna.

Hold on.

She wants me to put it on.

You missed it.

Gory can't hear anything I'm saying right

now.

Oh, gosh.

We just turned into a Hiller podcast.

Oh, man.

Look-y that.

Oh,

Ramirez paying two dollars for me to put

it on.

And now Winter will pay you two dollars

to take it off.

Take it back off, yeah.

Holy smokes.

It's comfy.

Thank you for that much.

But apparently she says she's pretty sure

she wore this one.

Fits like a glove.

It definitely fits like a glove.

Like OJ's glove that he was like, yeah,

I can barely get it on.

Yeah.

Uh, she sent me a note.

We're getting demonetized for nudity.

That'd be the case.

Uh, every show John Young was on,

we get demonetized.

My man has never worn a shirt.

Uh,

Shannon says she believes she wore this

one.

She won the, uh,

the ring muscle up snatch row interval

workout in two thousand and twenty two.

Uh,

Joseph Ramirez is checking out your side

boob.

Oh, look at that.

Oh, yeah.

Fits like a glove.

Absolutely.

This is definitely a woman's shirt because

like the back of it,

I can feel a racer back.

Yeah.

Oh, good night.

It's going right here on the wall,

right up in that area.

But I need to figure out how I'm

going to hang it because I don't want

to poke holes in it like I did

with my old E-Mom company shirt.

Damn, Cory.

Bow chicka wow wow.

Yes,

Lito said Hilo would have made exactly

zero dollars if that was the case.

That's a fact.

That's a fact, my man.

I think the video he just put out,

he ain't got a shirt on in it

the entire time.

Is it washed?

Hopefully not,

because he needs the Shanna superpowers to

sink into the skin.

I need as much, like Amanda said,

there's some material in the back there.

oh it was probably washed before she sent

it but wherever this thing has been it

has seen some stuff i'm just telling you

uh she says yes john george it's been

washed yeah no it smelled it smells

fantastic that was fantastic

She didn't send me the shorts, Mark.

She did not send me the shorts.

Thank God.

I'm not working out in this.

Y'all have lost your mind if y'all think

I'm working out in this.

I don't work out in a shirt most

of the time anyway,

much less I'm not going to wear this.

This is like a collector's item.

I can't even look at you right now.

Oh.

Yeah, again, look, it's good to...

I tell you what,

I know we've said it on here before.

Right?

I know we said on here before that

like noble makes I should have says I'll

send you the shorts if you model them.

By the time you send the shorts,

it'll probably February at this point.

Which a y'all it has absolutely nothing to

do with Shannon.

like she did her boring wayne could not

have said something more true looks like

every gym bro in the i don't know

how they wear these things oh my lord

gonna go do my buys and tries absolutely

get on some of this going on this

morning

oh the back dude it i am so

not used to that like i do i

got a couple tank tops that i'll wear

basically to the gym but this is not

that it's like i can feel it oh

uh you don't have winter corey shorts in

february is fine

February is about the only month it

actually, like January,

February is about the only month it

actually gets cold around here for a

couple of days.

She's not wrong.

Is it not the noble shorts that Matt

Fraser said cut the circulation off to

her?

So I know two different guys that have

the Noble game shorts,

one of which still wears his regularly.

And you can see what religion he is

when he's wearing it.

Whenever he's got his own, he's like,

holy smokes.

Extremely tight.

Rich said the same thing because Rich had

some of the Noble shorts and he said

the same thing.

He was like...

got a medium.

He said,

I got there and they weren't medium.

He said, Oh yeah, no, John,

I'm not trying to not run above my

belly button.

Uh, turn around.

Shana says we want the full.

Yeah.

Yeah.

She has some very short booty shorts Noble

gave, never been worn.

Yeah, I'd imagine not.

I'd imagine not.

Their sizing is something else.

This is incredibly soft.

I will say that.

I have or had two other shirts people

brought me from going to the games and

just brought me a shirt back whenever it

was the Noble era.

Their stuff was stupid,

but none of that transferred into their

shoes.

No, no, no.

I actually have a couple of their

long-sleeve shirts to wear under if the

venue's really cold.

And they're so comfortable.

Oh, I'll bet.

I have a couple of tanks that I

really like of theirs.

Yeah, they look like this.

No, nobody wants to see me in that.

I mean, I've been working hard.

I've been working hard.

I'm not to the point of racer back

tank yet.

Y'all, if y'all missed it,

Scott Jamie got on the jumbotron at least

once because I saw y'all the one time

and Scott's been working his ass off.

David Reed wants to know,

why bother wearing a shirt at that point?

I don't, dude.

I got to the gym this morning and

got my stuff set up and shirt came

off immediately as I got started.

That stuff that my coach was trying to

murder me on.

It's fine.

So...

Sure.

Why can't I think of his name?

Ken.

Ken Walters.

Screen grabbed Jamie and I on the

Jumbotron.

And you know when you're on the screen

and you do something and then you don't

realize what you did until someone sends

you a picture of it and you're like,

what the?

Jamie and I were laughing because our

response was,

Yeah, Forrest Gump laugh.

Or Forrest Gump wave.

Lieutenant Dan!

Lieutenant Dan!

Lieutenant Dan!

As if y'all have never been on camera

before.

We were both like, we both,

and we both did the same damn thing.

It was fantastic.

It was fantastic.

I enjoyed it, if nothing else.

Uh...

You and Jamie on the trim was probably

probably on or the stream.

Maybe Tron Tron Tron.

I'll let you know.

I have goals.

I do have goals,

but I'm trying not to put a number

on my goal.

No.

Because I don't really care what the

number is.

I just want to feel better.

I want to move better, which I did.

I felt really good.

I was really hustling around this weekend

and didn't even phase me.

So, yeah.

That's my goal,

just to be fit and healthy and have

fun again.

To be able to go run around like

that all weekend and not having too many

ill effects from it.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Yeah,

I think I said this on the first

recap show.

We had one little spot where we were

allowed to be at the finish line.

And the regular media pit was you had

to go.

So if you're in a regular media pit,

you had to go around the back of

the rig behind a curtain.

And then you had to go all the

way up around the bleachers up the one

side and then get to the finish line.

amy kringle was winning and i was doing

a reel about her and i'm like i

want to get the finish so i hustled

my ass around went all the way up

got out to the finish line and she

was in third close enough i was like

son of a bitch close enough close enough

she's there whatever it's fine i get the

whole way there and

And then like...

And this is not a WFP thing.

This is an all-over fitness competition

thing.

Eighteen cameramen showed up to get all

eighteen angles of the finish,

so you really couldn't get anything

anyway.

Hoping, praying...

Not going to happen.

Why you need five people around a GHD

machine to get five different angles of

the same person doing a GHD setup is

above and beyond my comprehension.

In case you've never seen them do a

GHD before.

We're going to have three doing the crotch

shot and then two with more elevated view.

It is so dumb.

No, they hold my camera up really,

really high and you get that,

that overhead kind of sort of view.

And then like the people are doing the

bench press and you've ever seen the

camera operators that have like,

it's on like a,

a gimbal or a stick and they hold

it down low.

So it's like really close to the floor.

Why do you need to hold your camera

down by the floor to come up to

someone doing the bench press?

That is straight up creepy pervert, man.

Absolutely.

Oh, Amanda says,

I only saw one camera person get in

the way.

It was the men's elite.

One of the athletes came down from the

handstand walk and the camera person was

so close to the athlete kicked him.

It's not.

Or maybe they just kicked him.

That sucks.

But visually, when you're trying to...

And this is a problem that, like,

why I think is a problem why some

people don't go to events.

You can't see.

Yeah.

That's a fact.

There's so many camera operators on the

floor.

It prevents you from watching the event.

Because if someone's in the lead and

someone's attempting something big,

there's eighteen people around that

person.

Now you've lost all view.

Silly.

Camera technology is in a place where you

don't have to be in their face.

Right?

You would think.

On the stream,

a cameraman was zooming in and out when

the women were in the rowers.

Livestream is not the time for artistic

video.

It's doing all of this.

Yeah, man, save that for the real.

We don't need that on the livestream.

Just, hey, she's rowing.

What would happen if a cameraman

interfered with an athlete who then got a

no rep?

I would love to know the answer to

that question.

I really,

really would because it's going to happen.

The fact that it hasn't happened or maybe

it has happened and I just haven't caught

it yet,

I would love to know the answer to

that question.

Ramirez says they should put a cameraman

on the field during an NFL game.

Just have Morstan Sawyers out there with

his gimbal running down the sideline next

to him.

But what is truly the difference between

that and having a cameraman near a

flipping six hundred and twenty five pound

sled?

Oh, no.

One hundred percent.

Absolutely.

There's nothing.

There's no difference.

Same thing.

Right.

It's just dumb.

all the way through it's dumb it's a

dumb concept it's a dumb idea it's a

dumb edu execution it should not happen

you don't need them to be i i

i don't want you to be right here

Here's the bigger question than a no rep

is a Quinn tears a peck and the

weight goes down and Jason Ainsley has to

run to help him get the weight off

of him.

And there are cameraman men in his way

and he can't get to quit.

There's in time,

like in an appropriate amount of time.

Yeah, absolutely.

Just delaying the response.

Even photographers and videographers,

my first time at Legends.

That's who I'm talking about.

Yeah, the Sandbag workout.

I told the dude on my second round,

I was like, hey, man,

I'm not going to stop.

Because he was right here.

Getting pictures, which is cool.

I paid for pictures.

I would like to get my pictures in

my video,

but I don't think you need to be

four feet from me or two feet from

me.

I got a hundred and fifty pound sandbag

on my shoulder and I'm making laps around

this, this, this in this tight area.

I'm not going to stop.

Even if I could,

I'm not going to like this is a

race.

Just you need to understand that if I

knock you down, it's nothing personal,

but you're in the way.

I had to move a judge from another

lane last weekend.

Yeah, I saw a couple judges this weekend,

and I said this over the weekend too.

I think we're just depleted in good

judges.

Yeah.

There's so many events now,

and there's no off-season.

and they all have to pay their own

way and they can't go to everything the

good judges can't be at everything no they

got lives like they're not getting so it

just they have to plan their season like

just like i would or or amanda would

or anybody else would like you have to

plan where you're gonna go what you want

to do all that stuff before you ever

get started i mean unless you have

unlimited funds and unlimited pto then

you're probably just a regular schlub like

everybody else you can't be everywhere at

once yeah i saw a judge like writing

down something on his clipboard like you

don't have to write a novel dude like

it's literally just numbers because of

that he wasn't aware of where he was

and the athlete actually had to push him

to the side yeah

yeah good judges also move up to

leadership positions need to teach new

judges just comes with experience i don't

know how they go to as many comps

as they do it's expensive trust me i

know last night i was trying to figure

out how

in the hell i could get to denmark

for the finals of wfp because i get

a ride with santa claus being as i

was three days before christmas

except Chris Henshaw he seems to be at

all of them that's because that is not

in fact Chris Henshaw that is my boy

Dave Horty who looks just like Chris

Henshaw who actually has a shirt that

answers a list of questions that says no

I am not Chris Henshaw and it's like

I went to the games and whatever year

Dave went to the games Chris Henshaw has

never actually been at the games competing

it's fantastic Dave Horty is a fantastic

human being love that dude

Yeah, and I think he's actually retired,

and that's why he can do that.

Yeah, he is.

He's fantastic, dude.

He's awesome.

Good, good dude.

Fair, clean, knows what he's doing.

Imagine a photographer using a zoom lens.

What a concept.

Well,

all the outside media have to use zoom

lens.

Like all of us along the barricade are

using Zoom lenses.

And you see some outstanding products out

there.

Like Ishmael killed it this weekend.

Dude, Ishmael, the picture I saw,

I haven't seen all of them,

but the stuff that I saw from him,

outstanding.

With the cameras,

I feel like they are trying to set

themselves up for marketing and content

can never have enough.

I get that,

but you don't need to be in the

two feet from the athlete.

It instructs the view from people watching

the event,

and there's a good chance you get in

the way of the athlete.

I'm just saying.

You don't need to be that close.

You just don't.

When you have like...

The amount of technology,

you can edit the photo or the content

and zoom in on the content after the

fact as well.

Need that macro shot.

Macro shot, baby.

That's like saying I need a one speed

bike.

I need that.

What is it to fix gear?

I need to fix gear bike.

I just want to do as much work

as I possibly can.

I got one lens.

I'm a photographer.

I would love it.

Ortega's probably got eight hundred lenses

laying around his house somewhere here,

there and yonder.

i know uh yeah dex dude dex has

got all kinds of i've seen all the

stuff he carries around i actually asked

that question a lot and a lot a

lot of people rent the lenses they use

for weekends they're expensive i mean some

of those lenses are twenty thousand

dollars

And so they rent them for the weekend.

And then like I was talking to Ortega,

and he has a couple that he's bought.

But then if he needs to do something

special,

he'll go rent a lens for that occasion.

Everything Ortega does is special.

Ortega, if you are still here,

are you going to Beachboro?

I'm going to see you at the end

of the month.

Um,

I didn't get to anything on my notes,

but I did want to say like,

I still don't eat at competitions.

I just,

it's never going to change as much as

I want to make it change.

Um,

Saturday I went all day without with just

pocket jerky all day.

And then we got to the restaurant Saturday

night and I ate all the fish in

the restaurant.

I bet you had to fight with Jamie

for all the fish in the restaurant because

I've seen her eat.

Well, she went with the salmon.

I had the tuna and the mahi.

Yeah.

I have seen Jamie Latimer eat.

If you have not seen it,

it is something to see because she just

doesn't stop.

Our friend Ronica was with us,

who is the co-owner of Jamie's Gym.

Love Ronica.

That's my girl, man.

And she's like, we're at dinner.

She's like, Jamie,

how the hell do you do that?

I said the same thing, didn't I?

The first time I saw her was at

a hibachi place,

and she was just knocking down the rice

and the noodles and all of the things.

That was at MFC.

We were competing the next day.

Yeah.

She ordered a bread basket at the one

restaurant,

and like –

just went to town on it yeah she

said she kind of laughed at me and

she kind of made a face that yeah

i can i can eat whatever i want

i said i see that obviously you do

not just that you can like because

technically i can't eat whatever i want

it's probably not a real good idea well

i i do want to say this about

jamie having her with me at these events

makes everything better oh yeah

like getting to debate with her during the

competition about what's going on just

makes it all the better but then sunday

morning i get up sitting there and she

brings up she made me eggs and bacon

like to make sure i ate like she's

just like she's one of she is one

of my best friends in the world she's

like a little sister and i can't thank

her enough

for going with us this weekend.

We had a blast.

She's a fantastic human being.

And then one last little thing.

Did you see Tyson Bajent's

Did I see Tyson Bajan running over people

on the field?

He did that too.

But the reason I'm asking you about the

ninety seven yard touchdown is it was to

former LSU wide receiver Zavian Thomas.

Zavian Thomas.

That dude's fast, man.

Holy smokes fast.

Like he is.

It's insane.

We talk about forty times.

They show the clip on Bears Twitter and

it's like this is what four one eight

looks like.

Xavion, he ain't nothing to play with.

You don't want to line up against him.

Probably not a great idea.

He made the Bears squad,

so he is on the fifty-three man roster.

Oddly enough.

Oddly enough.

I mean,

they only paid him ten million dollars.

Was that last year?

what tyson's contract when it when it last

year last year in this year yeah uh

our imposter said he's faster yeah so lex

sent me this um

It's a guy who had a fake forty-niners

helmet and would go to the beach and

he would hit on women saying he's a

former NFL player and played for the

forty-niners.

And he has pictures on his Instagram of

him signing the contract and talking about

that he chose to go to the forty-niners.

And the guy never, ever, ever, ever...

No, Zabian Thomas, former LSU standout,

incredibly fast, good hands,

good route runner.

Like he's just a good receiver all the

way around.

And that's cool.

I'm glad Tyson threw him.

What you said, ninety seven yards?

Yeah.

Yeah.

Outstanding.

I was way more impressed, I guess,

because I've seen Zabian do that before.

But watching him.

Tyson just truck people out in the open

field.

And then watching the,

look at the comments on, on,

on it where I saw it on Instagram

and like people, people just going,

Tyson's been in the weight room.

And I was like, yeah, all his life.

I don't know if y'all know that or

not.

Well,

it's not what you want your million dollar

backup quarterback doing.

uh on the field in a pre-season

meaningless game he don't bro hanging i

know i know but come on he ain't

that dude bro he ain't gonna slide that

ain't about that ain't about to happen

think about it like this from from tyson's

point of view right how often is he

gonna get to do that

Probably not very.

Well,

after that performance on Saturday night,

there's a good chance at some point he

will be sought after by another team.

I said everybody keeps saying, like,

there's not twenty five quarterbacks

better than him in the NFL.

And I would purport that there's probably

not fifteen quarterbacks better than him

in the NFL right now.

I need to see it in real game

action for a long period of time to

make the top fifteen statement.

i do think he's one of the best

thirty two for sure whatever ramirez um

the uh forty-niner imposter was arrested

by the fbi for all the money he

stole good if but if you see the

video like and that's why i laughed about

it he's in a forty-niners helmet on the

beach running routes in the sand

Ain't no real football player doing that.

No, no.

With their helmet on.

Right.

That's hilarious.

In swim trunks and a forty niner helmet.

Oh, that's good stuff.

Who was cut?

Who was cut?

What is Andrew talking about?

What are you talking about, Stan?

He's on the roster, bro.

They didn't pay him ten million dollars to

cut him like that didn't.

That's not a thing that's going to happen.

Bears fans,

y'all people are over the moon.

If you look at the highlights of him

from the preseason game over the weekend

and go look at the comments,

y'all are going to the Super Bowl.

I don't know if y'all knew that or

not.

But according to a lot of Bears fans.

But that's it.

It's written in stone now.

Andrew Stentha,

we're talking about Will Levis.

no i don't know levis isn't even a

thought in my brain i don't even know

who that is he was drafted by the

titans he was a penn state quarterback who

left for greener pastures and then there's

a lot of that going around yeah yeah

never never a fan

Anyway, with that, guys,

I should get back to work since I

took Friday off.

He was released and then said that there

weren't thirty two quarterbacks better

than him.

Got you.

Yeah, apparently there are.

Yeah,

there's there's probably forty better than

Will Levis.

You got to I mean,

you got to admire the man's confidence,

but we consider he's been cut.

He wasn't even kept as a backup.

So there's a chance there's sixty four

better than him.

Probably wouldn't.

That's good shit right there.

All right, guys.

I will catch you all tomorrow.

Tomorrow I've got a run of three shows.

We have our lunch show,

I have the A-Sports,

and then right into the wrap-up of WFP

tomorrow night.

Fun times, baby, fun times.

Al Bundy is a better quarterback than him.

Polk high.

Eighty-four, baby.

Let's go.

All right, guys.

Have a great day.

And always remember to stay jazzy.

You wouldn't wait to get to the editing

room to jazz me up.

I'm already jazzy.

Lunch with the Clydesdale Cowboy in the

saddle.

Lunch with the Clydesdale Cowboy in the

saddle.

Talking to reps,

real life strength in the battle.

From the gym to the screen, yeah,

we cover it all.

Midday motivation every time you press

call.

Lunch with the Clydesdale Cowboy in the

heat.

CrossFit, movies, musicals.
