Trump-backed Oklahoma congressional candidate and Sheridan.Church pastor Rev. Jackson Lahmeyer has acknowledged “crossing a boundary line through text messaging” with another woman, just a day before the Republican primary in Oklahoma’s 1st District. Lahmeyer, 34, said the matter had been handled privately with his wife, Kendra, “through counsel and prayer with God and spiritual advisors,” adding, “I also ended all communication.” The admission followed Daily Mail’s publication of texts with former campaign staffer and former Miss Oklahoma USA Caitlin Simmons Key, who said, “There’s a real problem with the fact that he’s married and a pastor,” and argued Christian leaders should be held “to a higher standard.” Donald Trump nevertheless renewed his endorsement, calling Lahmeyer a “MAGA Warrior” and praising his work with “Pastors for Trump.”

Federal authorities say a terror plot aimed at the White House UFC America 250 event was stopped before it could unfold. FBI Director Kash Patel said agents learned of “a potential threat” on June 10 and, through a “multi-state operation,” “multiple individuals are now in custody and allegedly planned attacks were stopped cold.” Court documents identify 19-year-old Tycen Proper of Knox County, Ohio, as a key suspect. Investigators say Proper admitted he intended to attack the U.S. government during the event, with a plan involving drones carrying explosives to force a crowd evacuation before gunmen opened fire to “jumpstart” a revolution. Authorities say West Virginia Republicans Shelley Moore Capito, Jim Justice, Carol Miller, and Riley Moore were discussed as targets. The case emerged after Proper’s mother warned police about his weapons purchases and online contacts.

In Auckland, New Zealand, the historic Anglican church St. Matthew-in-the-City is drawing national attention after erecting a transgender-affirming billboard protesting a proposed law that would define “man” as “an adult human biological male” and “woman” as “an adult human biological female.” The billboard declares, “We don’t care what’s in your pants … and neither should our government.” In a public statement, the church said the bill would “write trans, intersex, takatapui and non-binary New Zealanders out of legal recognition” and called such legislation “a moral failure.” Reverend Richard Bonifant said the measure “is clearly discriminatory of a very small group,” adding, “I just don’t think the government has a place in saying, actually you’re wrong.” The proposal has already passed its first reading and sparked protests in five cities.

Germany midfielder Felix Nmecha is drawing global attention after scoring his first career goal for the national team in a 7-1 World Cup win over Curaçao and immediately dedicating the moment to God. Broadcast cameras captured Nmecha kneeling on the grass, miming the removal of a crown and offering it skyward after what was also Germany’s fastest goal of the tournament so far. After the final whistle, Nmecha and several Curaçao players embraced at midfield and formed a prayer circle, a moment even secular outlets noticed, with Marca describing the rivals as “all Christian brothers.” Speaking afterward, Nmecha said, “It was an incredible blessing to score my first goal for Germany … All the glory I give to God.” He added, “When the final whistle blows, we are all brothers and sisters in Christ.”

Major League Baseball is warning San Francisco Giants players after several wrote Bible verses on special Pride Night caps. MLB chief communications officer Pat Courtney said, “The writing on the cap violates our rules and consistent with normal practice we have warned the players about future violations.” Among those involved was pitcher Landen Roupp, who referenced Genesis 9:12-16, the passage declaring, “I have set my rainbow in the clouds,” while JT Brubaker cited Genesis 9:13-15. Under MLB’s uniform policy, unauthorized writing can trigger escalating fines and even exclusion from championship games after repeated violations. Roupp insisted there was “no hate at all,” saying the verse reflects “what I stand for and what I stand in.” The Giants reaffirmed support for “Pride Night and the LGBTQ+ community,” while apologizing that the players’ choices caused “pain and anger.”

Country star Jelly Roll, born Jason DeFord, has filed for divorce from wife Bunnie Xo, whose legal name is Alisa DeFord, ending a marriage that lasted nearly a decade. Court records cited by TMZ say the filing was made May 18 in Williamson County, Tennessee, with May 9 listed as the date of separation, and photos reportedly showed a moving truck outside the couple’s home. Sources described the split as mutual. The news comes just months after Jelly Roll publicly praised both Jesus and his wife at the Grammys, saying, “Jesus, I hear you, and I’m listening, Lord,” and telling Bunnie, “I would have never changed my life without you.” Bunnie Xo had also spoken candidly about the couple’s past struggles, saying, “Relationships are not easy. In the beginning, it was very rough. We were very toxic.”

A fight over faith and public symbols is unfolding in Rockwall County, Texas, where county officials are refusing to remove a newly installed Ten Commandments monument outside the historic courthouse. The Freedom From Religion Foundation, through legal counsel Chris Line, argued the display and its unveiling ceremony amounted to government endorsement of religion, saying the monument “prominently displays explicitly religious commandments” and that “the government has no business telling residents which god they must have.” But First Liberty Institute, representing the county, pushed back hard. Associate counsel William G. Bell said, “The Supreme Court disagrees,” arguing the Ten Commandments carry “historical significance as one of the foundations of our legal system.” Bell closed with a defiant message to critics: “Come and Take It.” The dispute echoes broader legal battles over Texas Senate Bill 10 and Ten Commandments displays nationwide.
