Hello and welcome to the Transfer News Podcast! I'm Archer, and it's Saturday, January third, two thousand and twenty-six. The January transfer window is officially open, and the rumour mill is absolutely spinning. We've got plenty to get through today, so let's dive straight in.
Starting at Liverpool, where Arne Slot appears to be strengthening his squad with reports suggesting the Reds are set to sign Ordonez. This could be an exciting addition as Liverpool look to maintain their challenge on multiple fronts this season.
Meanwhile, Nathan Ake has reportedly rejected a move to West Ham. The Manchester City defender seems content at the Etihad despite limited playing time, which must be frustrating for Nuno Espirito Santo as he searches for defensive reinforcements.
Over at Manchester City, young talent Oscar Bobb is attracting serious attention, with Borussia Dortmund leading the race for his signature. Pep Guardiola will be keen to keep hold of promising youngsters, but game time guarantees elsewhere can be tempting.
Bournemouth are eyeing a move for Brennan Johnson from Tottenham, and this one's gaining real traction. Thomas Frank actually addressed Johnson's absence from the Spurs squad recently, saying they're close to some of the rumours, which is about as clear a hint as you'll get from a manager.
Actually, speaking of Johnson, Crystal Palace have agreed personal terms with the winger and are set to complete the signing. He wasn't named in the Tottenham squad recently, which tells you everything about how advanced this deal is. Oliver Glasner will be delighted to add that pace and directness to his attack.
Fulham are making ambitious moves with interest in Ricardo Pepi, who's valued at forty million pounds. Marco Silva has been vocal about the club being on the same page regarding their clear transfer needs, so expect the Cottagers to be busy this month.
Chelsea and Leeds are both monitoring James McAtee's situation at Manchester City. The young midfielder needs regular football, and with Enzo Maresca at Chelsea and Daniel Farke at Leeds both looking for creativity, this could be an interesting battle.

Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi continues to attract massive interest. Barcelona have reportedly cooled their pursuit, but Manchester City are planning to target him in the summer, and Bayern Munich are planning talks. The England international is clearly one of the most sought-after defenders in Europe right now.
Bournemouth defender Marcos Senesi is wanted by two La Liga clubs, showing the continued pull of Spanish football for South American players. Meanwhile, Celtic have agreed a loan deal for a Bournemouth defender, strengthening their Scottish Premiership challenge.
Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo reportedly wants to leave Old Trafford, which would be a significant blow for Ruben Amorim. However, United could block the move, recognizing his immense potential. The club are also eyeing a loan deal for Conor Gallagher, which could provide midfield depth.
Joshua Zirkzee's potential move to Roma has hit a deadlock, leaving his future uncertain. The striker needs clarity on his situation as the window progresses.
West Ham are extremely busy. They're interested in Raheem Sterling, in advanced talks to sign Taty Castellanos, eyeing Wolves' Jorgen Strand Larsen, watching Adam Clayton, and have set their sights on Josh Sargent. Nuno Espirito Santo is clearly determined to strengthen his attacking options significantly.
Finally, Mohamed Salah remains the top priority for the Saudi Pro League, with Roma also reportedly interested in re-signing the Egyptian superstar. His contract situation at Liverpool continues to dominate headlines.
