[00:00:34] Amelia Taylor: Ooh. Day before.

[00:00:36] Tyler Lindley: The day of. Okay. So two, one before, one of, love it. One sales software tool for you to hit quota. What tool are you using It? Only choose one. Mm.

[00:00:47] Amelia Taylor: That's a great question. Um, I'm using, I'm using LinkedIn. Is that a tool?

[00:00:52] Tyler Lindley: Yeah. LinkedIn. LinkedIn free or sales navigator?

[00:00:55] Amelia Taylor: I'm gonna go, we'll use

[00:00:57] Tyler Lindley: free. Okay. Awesome. Inbound or outbound? All the above. C .

[00:01:03] Amelia Taylor: Outbound, if any.

[00:01:05] Tyler Lindley: Outbound. Okay. The best sales manager you've ever had and why?

[00:01:09] Amelia Taylor: Rocco Savage, Matt Mellon. Hands down some of the brightest minds out there. They are teaching me how to.

Talk in more than bullet points of three . There's always a first point, second point, third point. And they're challenging the way that I have always done things, because in my mind, I've always done things one way. They're switching it on me. Love it.

[00:01:36] Tyler Lindley: The best sales book you've ever read and why?

[00:01:40] Amelia Taylor: Okay. This is not totally sales book, but it's, oh no, I got Mm, I got you.

One first one. Not totally. Sales, green lights. Matthew McConaughey, one of. Books when it comes to storytelling. Mm-hmm. and overcoming what you are going through to get to where you know you wanna go. Also, kind of similar is thinking in Bets by Annie Duke. Mm-hmm. , it was a professional poker player. She didn't know everything she was doing, but sh it's literally taking action when you still don't know all the

[00:02:11] Tyler Lindley: answers.

Love it. Awesome. What is your why in sales? Like, why are you in.

[00:02:16] Amelia Taylor: I have two little girls that I adore more than anything in the world that I refuse to let us get live under a bridge. We are going to have a wonderful life and they're gonna be thriving one day because of their mama's efforts that she puts in right now and today and tomorrow, and I refuse to let them be anything but proud of the mother that they

[00:02:36] Tyler Lindley: have.

Awesome. I love it. What's your preferred outbound channel and why? Slack. .

[00:02:44] Amelia Taylor: Totally. Why it is so easy. It is so simple. That is exactly where people are at all day talking to people within their company. Mm-hmm. . And you could see the little green dot if they're online or not. Sure. Yeah. On LinkedIn you can too, but you can huddle people right there.

You can pass documents. You can also have everything connected to where, you know, Use Z your, whatever it is. You can see when they open things. I mean, all things can be connected through Slack. Totally my preferred

[00:03:12] Tyler Lindley: channel. Love it. Final question, what is your morning routine to start your day in sales?

[00:03:19] Amelia Taylor: Okay. I wish I had a better answer to this. It is a, I will actually, I'm gonna tell you exactly what it's, I'll drop the kids off at school. and we're listening to whatever music they want to on the way to school. And then I become straight gangster mom once the kids are out of the school, and I gotta get in this mindset of like, I can go make that money and do my thing , and then I will make my coffee and I sit down, I'm looking at my list that I've made, like four 30 ish, whatever the day before, fingers crossed that I did that.

But I'll go through that and I'll try to tackle those three top things that I have to do. Then I feel like I'm supposed. . Is it every day that I do that? No. Will it be for everybody else? No. Go with ebbs and flows. It all gets done in some way, shape, or form.

[00:04:05] Tyler Lindley: Love it. Final, final question. I have one more actually.

If you could go back and talk to your former self on your first day in sales, what piece of advice would you give them? Knowing what you know now?

[00:04:16] Amelia Taylor: Stop talking so damn much, Amelia. Do not talk about what you don't know. When you don't know, ask a question.

[00:04:25] Tyler Lindley: Mm. Love it. Awesome. Well that's it for today's bonus round.

Thanks so much for listening. Head over to thesaleslift.com to check out the full interview and more. Thanks for joining Amelia. See ya.
