I think Julianna is tough as nails and her will to win is second to none. As dominant as Amanda was, and she was dominant tonight, I didn't think it was close, but, uh, she still looked a little gun shy to me, you know, but.

You know, going in against the person who beats you the first time I can see that happen. But when you think about the way that she fought Cyborg, she usually goes in and throws tons of punches. She had Julianna hurt many times. Uh, had her on crazy legs a couple times and never really went in for the kill.

I could have finished her, but I, I wanna go five rounds with her tonight to prove that I was better than her. And that she did, a very one-sided and dominating performance by one. Amanda Nunes who now has reclaimed her title as not only the 135-pound queen. But reclaimed her status as a two-division champion at both 135 pounds and 145 pounds.

And regardless of what some might say, and perhaps some of the cards on the judges' score cards said, this was not a close fight at all. The judges score cards, 50-45, 50-44 and 50-43. I can understand 50- 43, but to hear 50-45 is a bit odd to me. Exactly. How many times do you have to get knocked down to justify a 10-8 card?

Are we entering a new era of reluctance to give out 10-8 rounds anymore? I mean, how many times do you have to get knocked down? Amanda Nunes employed a strategy and that strategy worked very, very, very well. The main thing was my southpaw (stance). Yeah. Who I know, I know I'm gonna catch. With that tonight. I know she won't to be able to adjust to that. She's not a striker. Amanda's right hand found a home quite a bit in the first 10 minutes of that fight, which makes me wonder why the judge would not award Amanda Nunes a 10-8 round on his scorecards at all.

But let's just go through the first two rounds starting with round one. Round one, two-minute eight second mark. Amanda Nunes was able to land a right hand that staggered Julianna Pena. Two-minute mark. Eight seconds later. That right hand landed again. This time behind the ear of Julianna Pena dropping her for the first time in the fight.

One minute, 35-second mark. 25 seconds later. Amanda Nunez once again, finds a home for that right hand dropping Julianna Pena to one knee before she jumped right back up. So she was able to recover a little bit, but she did indeed get dropped to one knee when getting knocked by that right hand. And then closing the round with three seconds left again, Amanda Nunes was able to land her right hand once again, staggering Julianna Pena.

So we're only in the first five minutes of this fight and Julianna Pena has not only been staggered twice but she's been dropped essentially, knocked down twice in the first round. Round two. Four minute 29 second mark. Okay. Round two. 30 seconds into the second round. Another counter right by Amanda Nunes lands and absolutely drops Julianna Pena.

About 25, 35 seconds later, three-minute 47 second mark, Another counter right lands dropping Julianna Pena. Once again, one minute 26, second mark. A third knockdown by Amanda Nunes. Dropping Julianna Pena for the third time in the second round. And for the fifth time in the first 10 minutes of that fight. A dominating performance by Amanda Nunes as she has reclaimed her two division championships status, once again.

And she deserves every bit of time off that she wants. Well, I mean, not, not, not all the time in the world, but she deserves a little time off., As for Julianna Pena. Yeah. Juliana's got a big chunk missing from her forehead. Uh, she's going to see a plastic surgeon right now. Well, Julianna Pena took the Instagram to respond to that.

It wasn't exactly. The way Dana White described it, but we'll read the posts as it reads from her Instagram account. Quote. Tougher than a $2 steak. Thanks for the love, everyone. Just a cat scratch that required a few stitches, no chunks missing, no surgery necessary. Love you all. We're one and one now. Hashtag people's champ, hashtag trilogy.

So Julianna Pena is being as tough as she always is, and she definitely wants another fight with Amanda. Nunes a great fight. Nonetheless, despite being dominated in a one-sided fight, we got to see five rounds of that championship bout and maybe just, maybe we see a trilogy down the road.

All right. That'll do it for this episode of Fight Files, more episodes covering UFC 277. If you just go to Fight Files.com or wherever you consume your podcasting needs.
