tell us about what Epson has brought to ISTE this year.

Nima: Sure.

so as Epson, we continue, investing in innovations and in commercial projection category.

This year we are also, bringing the new L- DVLED that we are launching in August of this year to the show.

But generally speaking, we have about 10 new products that we are showcasing, for different for, applications and use cases.

We have, nine projectors, and we have one DVLED that we are

Jethro D. Jones: Okay, tell me about DVLED.

What does that mean?

Nima: So DVLED is gonna be, technically a big screen.

it's a fixed installation.

I know there are some other brands that you can technically add and remove different, sections of the DV, the screen to add, make it bigger or smaller.

But basically, we have two sizes.

It's gonna be fixed installation, like I said.

It's, starts from 135-inch, diagonal 1080p resolution.

We also have 4K E in that same screen size, but also we have a bigger size, which is 162 inches.

Mm-hmm.

we have optional, stand that you can, uh,

get if you want to as an option.

but then all of them comes with a mount that you can mount

it

easily on the wall as

well.

Jethro D. Jones: the wall as well.

Yeah.

And i- is this, outdoor and indoor?

Nima: Yes, but then we are mostly, thinking about an

indoor environments more for, um,

Jethro D. Jones: maybe- Mm-hmm

Nima: Mm-hmm … uh, for i- if about education environment, maybe

cafeterias, education, uh, sorry, um, amphitheaters and, spaces that you can

So, so what would you say a school's purpose is for bringing this into an amphitheater or cafeteria?

we talk about screen time with kids a lot and how

uh, the screen time needs to be purposeful.

So what's Epson's vision

of why we put more screens in the schools, especially these big ones?

Nima: so that's a great question.

but, so I would say again, like this is not necessary for in front of the classroom, like students not gonna like look at this for a long period of time.

It's gonna be more

for shared spaces.

So we are trying to bring in more, experiences into

different spaces in the, education environment.

So with that, with the LED technically we are bringing again, like better resolution, better sharper imagery to different, environments in a school- Yeah … in a

Jethro D. Jones: And so with that, then you have the opportunity to use, this as a announcement space, as a display of u-upcoming events and different

things.

And one of the things that

I see really valuable about this is that anytime you can take what the kids are doing and put it up

on

the walls and showcase the good things

that, that kids are doing is a really

valuable

opportunity.

And so having, like putting student work up is the simplest example.

But having, uh, you know, a, a… During lunch showing

the recent play or band or orchestra concert that happened- Mm-hmm

uh, that you recorded, and then you can show it up

there and just give

kids another chance to

see we're doing something.

Mm-hmm.

sports highlights or sports scores or things like that, or academic awards, things like that.

Putting that stuff up and having it be something that can be beautiful and not just like a poster that's gonna fade

or, or, get ripped or whatever,

or something else that, uh, something that you can like showcase motion is, deal too.

So that kind of stuff I think

is, is really valuable and, you know, essentially the idea of like a, a digital picture

frame or movie frame

for for highlighting student success, I think that's really

good.

And then, the other nine products,

are those all projectors then?

Nima: So yeah, there are gonna be nine projectors.

There's, about five ultra short-throw projector, four ultra short-throw projector, four standard projector, and we have one, short-throw projector- Mm-hmm

that we are launching by end of this year.

Okay.

So basically, we are, bringing higher, lumen to our new, lineups.

Gonna be about five thousand two hundred lumen on the standard pro- projector from brightness, perspective.

We are also bringing 4K enhancement resolution, so basically, that means double the 1080p.

so historically, we had all these features in higher brightness, bigger and chunkier projector, but now we are bringing all of those in a smaller form factor and compact, projector, about, like, 12 pounds.

we are also introducing, built-in Wi-Fi 6E, which is better and faster internet, more secure.

we are having

a built-in AirPlay, Apple

AirPlay, for easy

Jethro D. Jones: Oh, good

Nima: Yeah.

Miracast.

also, I can go over every other projector- Yeah … by

details if you want to.

but- Well,

Jethro D. Jones: the thing that's interesting there, the classroom ex- applications for some of those things.

Um, my daughter is going to a school that was built just three years ago.

Mm-hmm.

And she has way more windows in the school- Mm-hmm … than the previous school she was going

to.

Mm-hmm.

And so having high lumen

projectors

is is a necessity now because so many of our buildings are more open and more light, which is great, but then it-- you gotta, lower all the

drapes, and- Mm-hmm you can't

always… Not all of our classrooms have that.

And so

the projectors, you know, basically became pointless because you couldn't even see them- Right … at certain times of the day

especially.

So

I'm really glad to see those advancements in the higher

Nima: Correct.

And honestly, with these new projectors, we are gonna be technically at our booth, we are showcasing how we're enhancing all those, visual experiences with- Mm-hmm

bigger image size.

So for example, on the standard throw projectors, we can go up to four hundred and ninety-eight inch di- diagonal so- Mm-hmm … that's a huge space, s- huge screen size for even bigger classrooms, I would say.

also we are, like I said, we have 4K resolution, so from anywhere in the room, in the big room, I think students can see the text and charts easily because it's gonna be very sharp, imagery.

also, we are adding all those enhancement to our casting solutions, so that makes collaboration easier for students and teachers.

Yeah.

and in our ultra short throw projectors, we have all the interactivity, experiences that teacher and students can do.

and also we are launching a new software that pairs well with the ultra short throw projectors.

about fifty students can connect.

Teacher will become the moderator.

they can let who can get access and share their screen.

Up to

four sc- students can share their screen.

and then they can do annotations, write notes, and by the end of the classroom, teacher can easily save everything as PowerPoint and send it wirelessly to students.

So we are adding all those and we are showcasing those

in
