Good morning and welcome. Today we explore the moment when Pharaoh, in distress from his troubling dreams, turns to Joseph for interpretation. After being summoned from prison, Joseph approaches Pharaoh with humility, clearly stating that any understanding he provides is through God. Pharaoh recounts his dreams of seven healthy cows being consumed by seven lean ones, followed by seven robust ears of grain being devoured by seven withered ones. Joseph reveals that these dreams symbolize seven years of abundance followed by seven years of famine. He emphasizes the urgency of this divine message, indicating that the famine is imminent.
Joseph advises Pharaoh to appoint a wise leader to oversee the storage of grain during the years of plenty, ensuring that Egypt is prepared for the difficult times ahead. Pharaoh is impressed with Joseph's insight and wisdom, recognizing that such a spirit of God is within him. This pivotal moment marks the beginning of Joseph's rise to power in Egypt, setting the stage for future events.
