Jared:

Well, Rob, we're bringing back coffee drops. And coffee drops are going to be sometimes on topic of innovative Mhmm. Teaching, but sometimes they may not be.

Rob:

So you're gonna drop it on me.

Jared:

So here's a new one that I haven't told you about yet that I'm going to read off to you.

Rob:

I'm excited. This is an Instagram post that my wife sent me.

Jared:

You know, my wife and I are big Formula One racing fans.

Rob:

Yes. The headline of this post, how Sonny Hayes would be penalized in real Formula One. Now we have talked I don't know if we've talked on this podcast. You and everyone else in this office is a big fan of the f one movie. Yeah.

Rob:

I enjoyed it.

Jared:

To a point where you guys were like, I have to watch

Rob:

it because I'm an f

Jared:

one fan and I would enjoy it. I hated that movie.

Rob:

It was a great movie.

Jared:

No. It wasn't. And here are the and here are the and I was waiting for something to help me.

Rob:

So this is a Other than the naughty things. Yeah. Obviously, yes. That was

Jared:

again, cinematography, sound design, incredible. But he does some really stupid things in that movie, and now I have a post that backs it up.

Rob:

Here we go.

Jared:

Number one, at the British Grand Prix, Sonny Hayes took too long to start the formation lap, which would likely result in a 10 penalty and up to three penalty points depending on the stewards. There's the first one. There's the first slide. Swipe. At Monza, Hayes collided with Kevin Magnusson, an incident that would bring a ten second stop and go penalty along with four penalty points for causing the collision.

Jared:

Here's some more.

Rob:

What are penalty points and what what what do they take away?

Jared:

Rob, I'm glad you asked. Penalty points, they accrue on a driver much like driving points on your license.

Rob:

Okay. Get too many, you can't drive anywhere. Like shoot bucks.

Jared:

They're like Stanley Nichols. Alright. Later in the same race, still in Monza, he made contact with Valtteri Bottas, which would be treated as another deliberate collision, adding a second stop and go penalty and four more penalty points. So that's seven eight penalty points at this point. Hayes then, same race, intentionally hit an advertising board to trigger a red flag, which would see his lap deleted and could invite even harsher penalties depending on how the stewards interpret the act.

Rob:

So no penalty points.

Jared:

Probably no penalty points with that one, depending on the stewards.

Rob:

So that wouldn't go towards a free foot long.

Jared:

No. It would not go towards a free foot long or a new a Diet Coke at Speedway. Alright. Here's another one. While battling Max Verstappen, Hayes ignored blue flags and held him up earning a drive through penalty along with two penalty points for failing to yield.

Jared:

In the same fight with Max, Hayes drove unnecessarily slowly in a dangerous manner, which would likely result in a ten second stop and go penalty and three additional penalty points. Across just three races, Hayes would rack up 16 penalty points, easily crossing the 12 limit for a race ban. In reality, the FAIA would likely not have allowed him back on track after Monza. But this is a film. Instead of consequences, his story is allowed to play out anyway.

Rob:

And one of the executive producers was

Jared:

Lewis Hamilton.

Rob:

Lewis Hamilton.

Jared:

I'm aware. Yeah. But don't producers just give money?

Rob:

I have no idea.

Jared:

I think for the most part, some producers just give money to it.

Rob:

But I think Lewis did have quite a say.

Jared:

Well, he's currently dating a Kardashian, so that's as far as his

Rob:

And he drives for Ferrari, so everybody knows. I mean, everything's gone downhill. How dare you, sir? How dare you, sir? The Tafosi will not stand for that.

Rob:

We have plenty Tafosi listeners right now.

Jared:

So, again, to wrap up this coffee drop, my f one love was shocked at how bad and stupid that movie was.

Rob:

Yeah. So I'm very upset with all of

Jared:

you for making me watch it.

Rob:

Yeah. You'll

Jared:

be You know who was even more upset was my wife. My wife was

Rob:

furious at that movie. So I would think it would have paid just to watch you two watch it. Oh, yeah.

Jared:

We should have set up a webcam.

Rob:

It's a new thing. We watching people who

Jared:

watch movies. React. Oh, it was so bad.
