We cover the sport of CrossFit from all angles. We talk with athletes, coaches and celebrities that compete and surround in the sport of CrossFit at all levels. Jesus Christ.
I did something I haven't done in a
long time.
From the gym to the screen, yeah,
we cover it all.
Midday motivation every time you press
call.
Lunch with the Clydesdale.
Cowboy bring the heat.
Crossfit movies.
Music on repeat.
Half hour hustle, yeah,
we building that brand.
Grab a plate.
Tune in now, you part of the fam.
It's lunch time.
What's going on?
It is.
It is.
Uh, not a whole lot.
What's happening with you?
I am super curious because that you,
you know,
who doesn't know what's in lunchtime?
My employer.
Oh yeah.
No, I'm certain about that.
They don't,
they don't give a shit about my lunchtime.
One bit.
I put it on my calendar.
I block it off.
That's my time.
I don't get paid for lunch.
Right.
Right.
Like they don't own me during the time
I block it off.
Yet people just blow through the barricade
on my calendar.
That isn't even what happened today.
What happened today was I had an eleven
thirty meeting.
It was supposed to go till twelve.
The people we were supposed to meet with
showed up ten minutes late.
We didn't even get to the point until
five till noon.
Of course not.
So noon hit.
I was like, sorry guys,
got an appointment out the media.
I went, I just walked off.
I, you guys talk about yourselves thing.
Cause I was,
I'm listen in the grand scheme of things.
I learned a long time ago that they
don't give two shits about me.
No, no, no, no, no, no.
I am just a,
I am just an aunt in the workplace.
The little worker aunt, uh,
feeding the queen bee i ain't the queen
bee and so they don't care about me
i'm actually glad you're not the queen
well that's the analogy man there are no
king ants man not with that attitude
there's carpenter ants there's worker ants
i'm just i'm down there with the laborers
and i was like peace out i'm done
looks like you've been working missing a
lot of work lately there peter
I wouldn't say I've been missing it, Bob.
Exactly.
I watched that just like two months ago,
maybe again.
God, it's so good, dude.
So good.
My judge.
I don't think I appreciated it the first
couple times I watched it.
Now I appreciate it so much.
You have to be well-versed in dry humor
to be able to keep up with it,
really and truly,
and to realize that some of the stuff
is just absurd, right?
Well,
I deal with all of that bullshit on
a daily basis.
That is real life.
Everybody thinks it's a parody.
It is not.
There is management that are that
clueless, that dumb.
It's awful.
Yeah.
If you haven't seen after last night's
first NFL game,
the Dallas Cowboys have been officially
eliminated from the playoffs.
We can only hope.
We can only hope.
Here's what's going to happen.
If there's any Dallas Cowboy fans,
it looks like Birch might be one.
This is what's going to happen.
You're going to have false hope for about
eight, nine weeks or so,
and reality is going to set back in,
and you're just going to be so close,
and then you're going to miss the playoffs
again.
Or, because there's two options here,
or you're going to have false hope for
about eight,
nine weeks because they're going to be
doing really, really well and whatnot,
and they're going to barely squeak into
the playoffs and then lose in the first
round because that's what the Cowboys do.
Sorry, it's just a fact.
Saying we are a global company and I
get emails all hours of the day and
night.
So the vendor we work with got bought
a couple times.
Like it is,
like the letterhead changes literally
every couple months.
And I work for the government.
I work for the state government.
Meaning we can't have people outside the
country with access to like what we have
going on.
It's kind of an important factor in what
we do.
How the hell am I getting emails at
three a.m.? ?
I'll never understand that kind of stuff.
I was, matter of fact,
I had a conversation with my son this
morning before I left the house and
letting him know, like,
I was just talking about like prioritizing
life and work and all that kind of
stuff.
Cause he's kind of struggling with that
right now with his second semester in
college or second year in college to say.
And I said, look, do you have to,
you got to prioritize what's important to
you.
I said,
my life is compartmentalized into the fact
that I get up early in the morning,
I go to the gym and nothing else
matters while I'm there.
Unless your mom calls and one of y'all
is in trouble or the house is on
fire.
Or someone breaks your gas meter.
Somebody breaks your gas meter.
Get away from it.
And then I leave and I go to
work.
And while I'm at work, I'm at work.
Same thing.
Same rules apply.
Nothing else matters unless one of y'all
is in trouble or the house is on
fire.
Something along those lines.
And then when I go to lunch,
I'm on lunch, dude.
I don't want to hear about work.
When I get home, I'm home.
Now,
there are some caveats to that because a
lot of my customers do have my personal
number and they will text me from time
to time, randomly, usually at six thirty,
seven o'clock at night.
It's because of something that they think
that I'm the only person that can put
that fire out.
And generally speaking,
it's because I've told them as much.
But it's the exception, not the rule.
I don't check my email at three o'clock
in the morning.
Nor am I going to, right?
Much less am I going to send one
to somebody else.
That's insane.
Wild talk to me.
There's actually a schedule button in
Outlook that allows you to send the email
during work hours and nobody cares.
There's also a button in Outlook that
allows you when scheduling a meeting to
see when other people have time blocked
off.
Don't show up ten minutes late and then
expect you get ten minutes of my time.
Yeah.
No, if you're ten minutes late,
you're ten minutes late.
Hey, what did I miss?
Bring me up to speed,
and let's go from there.
were running the meeting dude oh that's
even that's even worse yeah that's your
problem you don't get my time after you
scheduled thirty minutes and ten of them
you didn't show up for yeah that's on
you not on me that's a you problem
it's not a neat problem by any stretch
of the imagination um speaking of like the
wild wacky have you caught up on lioness
yet
No, I have not.
We haven't had, again,
eight-year-old at home.
It's hard for me.
We're still right where we were,
which is still in season one.
I have absolutely no idea.
I've definitely not caught up to the
newest stuff.
If you would have asked me five years
ago,
about the script of lioness i would have
said man that's far-fetched right now i
think damn that's it's about as it is
hitting so close to reality so close to
reality right now it's like it was
predicting the future before it happened i
mean the dude is good at what he
does um
I caught up on it last night, Julie,
and I finally got to sit down and
watch a little bit of TV before the
game.
Holy shit, dude.
I will more than likely be able to
get caught up at least a little bit
or get caught up.
I mean,
we're still in season one as far as
that goes,
but at least get further along what we
were probably Friday night.
um because jameson's going to sleep at my
mother-in-law's house um so that because
me and jim's got a five k to
run wednesday morning so we'll probably
have a little bit of time where we
can actually do adult type stuff and watch
something that she's not allowed to watch
so i'll probably get at least at least
get closer to where everybody else is but
get closer to real time at that point
come that
Retired Steve,
it does feel like a real-time documentary.
It is hitting so close to reality right
now.
Yeah.
Dude.
That's awesome.
It's crazy.
Oh my gosh, Tessa.
Thank you so much.
Right?
Be mushy.
I love that kind of mush.
Not mad at that at all.
Not mad at that at all.
She says, not to be mushy, but Scott,
your shows are my favorite in the space.
Well, we love you all too,
so we do.
Thank you.
Andrew Sten, it's like Tom Clancy.
The government talked to him about the
tech he wrote about in his books.
He said, if they have this,
then they probably have something better
like this.
Smart writers.
My dad was a Tom Clancy nut.
Every book, the minute it came out,
sat down,
plowed through it in like a day or
two.
He was very unlike me in the reading
aspect of life.
He didn't have beef with LeVar Burton.
He did not.
Him and LeVar Burton were like tight.
And he would always say,
you can't tell me this guy hasn't been
inside the Pentagon.
Walking around snooping as he goes because
it's hitting way too close to home.
But I think Andrew Stead actually hits it
more on the tail.
He did research.
He talked to former Pentagon people and
said, okay,
if this is where we're at on this
date,
I'm betting technology and everything have
advanced to this level by this date.
Yeah.
And just nailed it.
educated smart educated guesses like
predicting the future type stuff but based
on reality not just you know we're gonna
all have flying cars no we're not that's
probably not gonna happen type deal but
you can look at stuff and go okay
from here you know from this point to
this point we make this jump from this
jump so if we have this right now
then maybe in a couple years we'll
probably have this like that's that's a
much more logical way to look at stuff
Do you ever watch Neil deGrasse Tyson?
From time to time.
There's occasionally where I'll start
watching something and then I'm just in
that mood to go down the rabbit hole
of myth-busting all of movies and
whatever.
And I was watching one one time where
the flying car thing came up.
And he was like,
it is so not able to happen because...
The thrust propulsion,
the downforce it would create on the
people below to get a car up and
moving would wipe out tens of thousands of
people.
Yeah.
Right?
There's a reason why there's only like a
handful of aviation devices that can take
off straight up and then... Right?
Right.
There's a, uh,
I saw it the other day,
somebody selling it's all electric.
It's got four motors on it.
It looks like a motorcycle,
but it's a personal flying device.
It's got a range of like.
thirteen miles or something like that.
So I was doing the math,
looking at it straight from the house to
the office type deal.
Telling the wife, I was like, I mean,
for, you know,
one hundred eighty thousand dollars,
I can just I don't even have to
worry about traffic.
I can just fly from here to there.
But I like custom one off type deals
and you can't.
Here's the other thing about it,
just from a practicality standpoint,
say somebody breaks up open technology
tomorrow.
All of a sudden now,
flying cars are relatively cheap.
Let's call them affordable and highly
doable type deal.
If you think traffic is bad when people
have four wheels on the ground and are
riding around driving like this with their
phone in their hand,
not looking at what they're actually doing
with four wheels on the ground,
now you want to get them to fly?
No.
Just no.
Vicky had it right.
The only flying car that is possible is
a DeLorean.
Clearly.
And it also goes back in.
We know that from a documentary done in
nineteen eighty five.
We did.
We absolutely did.
Um, Steve says,
I wouldn't want to be standing below a
Harrier jet taking off.
You don't want to just be standing below
them.
You don't want to be anywhere near them
while they're taking off.
Cause that shit doesn't just go straight
down.
It's going to go down and out everywhere
around from it.
No.
Um,
There's talk about like a wife that's in
the medical field and that everything is
not real.
And then Shanna says, agreed,
but I saw a resuscitation in an English
show that was right on.
I was so happy.
That guy looked like he really needed
resuscitated.
And they did such a good job.
It would look so realistic.
Here's the thing is that what most people
don't realize when you're watching
somebody do something like that on a TV
show, especially if it's not, you know,
nine, uh,
cops or something along those lines,
whatever is that, uh,
Real actual life-saving stuff.
It might be exciting because it's
happening, but generally speaking,
it looks boring.
You need to, you gotta,
for lack of a better word,
jazz it up to be able to put
it on,
to be able to put it on TV
and make it look somewhat interesting.
It's the lack of a better word because
that is the best word.
That is the best word, yeah.
You can't be better than jazzy.
That is just the best word ever.
And you can use that word to get
thirdsy at fifteen percent off.
There it is.
Just type it into the promo code area,
get fifteen percent off or go to
thirdsy.com backslash Jazzy.
Get the same thing.
And the new chocolate flavor is amazing.
So go check that out.
No, Ramirez, Jazzy does not count.
yeah it's a whole different neither
neither does jiggy neither does jizzy
neither does any of those yeah jazzy it
has to be jazzy to get your fifteen
percent off yeah which i mean fifteen
percent off is pretty jazzy from being
honest here i mean i like the cat's
pajamas but that doesn't get me fifteen
percent off anything oh i've never
actually seen a cat in pajamas
Not that I said that Vicky's going to
bring us a cat in pajamas, but whatever.
It's fine.
There it is.
New chocolate flavor.
Bam.
Like a little hot chocolate before bed.
Hey, Ramirez is messing around,
but I still say the bee's knees on
occasion.
And it's usually like I'm specifically
saying it on purpose.
Like, oh, it was the bee's knees.
Oh,
I use cat's pajamas in the same context
all the time.
And I keep telling my wife I'm trying
to bring it back from the nineteen
twenties.
Single handedly.
Just stop.
It isn't going to happen.
It's the cat's pajamas.
Well,
I just threw up in my mouth a
little bit.
Hot chocolate is my stripper name.
Shouldn't it be caramel chocolate or hot
caramel there, Ramirez?
Although hot caramel sounds dangerous.
Just throwing that.
Or fried ice cream.
Fried ice cream.
There used to be,
when I was in high school,
there was a band of kids from my
school that that's what their,
the name of their band was,
was Fried Ice Cream.
But it was P-H-R-Y-E-D and then I and
then scream.
John George,
I may have tried the code wax on,
wax off, and it didn't work.
Well, it will be.
You got to give it time, dude.
You got to give it time.
We got to change the whole thing up.
Stop trying to make fetch a thing.
Yeah, that was my wife to me.
That's fantastic.
it used to be dark chocolate oh as
you've gotten older now it's just milk
chocolate just hot chocolate is that what
it is there it is cat in pajamas
cat's pajamas same hey different day I'm
about to say same hey different day I
like that there's no truer saying for me
today same hey different day same hey
different day
Oh, gosh.
I went to the doctor this morning for
my annual.
Did you tell me you were exposed to
a gas leak yesterday?
I did not.
I did not.
Look, if any of my blood works off,
sorry,
but I was exposed to a gas leak
yesterday.
Not really my fault.
So I hope Shannon doesn't take offense to
this.
She probably will.
But what's wild to me now is like,
you go in, you get your vitals,
you have a conversation,
they plug this stuff into a computer and
it like actually spits out a risk
assessment, a health risk assessment.
So we're to the point now where
It's like what the insurance companies do
to find out how much they charge you
for your life insurance.
Now the doctor can say, well,
we got your risk assessment down from
eighteen percent to nine percent or
whatever.
Right.
Cut in half, baby.
Let's go.
That's... So...
Jeremy, I am not talking to you anymore.
When the teams hit the field here in
a couple weeks,
I don't need to listen to your bullshit
because it's all going to be proven on
the field.
I don't even need to talk about it
anymore.
There it is.
So we're in a fantasy football league
together.
Jeremy has sent nine posts this morning
about the Bears sucking.
Because his team sucks so bad that he
can't even pay attention to his own team.
He's got to worry about my team and
how bad they are.
He's deflecting at this point.
Yeah.
That's outstanding.
Wayne, yeah, great.
AI actuaries.
It's kind of what it's like.
Yeah.
But the good news is my risk assessment
is dropping.
And when my blood tests come back today,
hopefully it goes down more.
She's optimistic that I've dropped my risk
assessment from January to today by ten
percent.
This is a hard fact right here.
Not surprised about this.
Just another parameter put upon us to
measure by insurance companies.
As soon as you said that,
like now that they're giving you, oh,
here's your risk assessment,
whatever that's supposed to mean, right?
I can elaborate.
Oh, please do.
So it's not just an overall risk
assessment,
but there's also risk assessments for
certain things.
So it's not just the insurance companies,
but it's the pharmaceutical companies.
Because if your risk assessment is high
in, say, cholesterol, they'll say, well,
because your risk assessment is above
this,
we need to get you on a statin.
Right?
Right.
Oh,
because your risk for diabetes is here.
We need to get you on metformin.
And I love my dog.
I really do.
She's awesome.
And if I say,
I don't want to be on a statin,
she'll be like, okay, well,
that exercise can work too.
And I'm like, yep, it can.
Thank goodness.
This, so.
when duane who is my actual primary care
physician who's also jennifer's first
cousin actually gets me in there to do
my yearly right and he'll get my blood
work back and he'll be like well you
know a little bit high and i'm like
duane you know me just as well as
just about anybody else says we work out
in the same gym five to six days
a week do you really think i give
a shit what that blood work says right
now honestly like i understand you're
doing your job i get that part of
it i said but
Am I fixing to die?
Does this blood work say I'm fixing to
pass out or I need to?
Well, no, but I'd like to see.
I don't give a shit about the numbers,
though.
I'm good.
Unless you found cancer somewhere growing
inside of my body that we need to
cut out,
we just going to keep on going like
we keep on going.
I take care of sick kids.
Thankfully,
I don't need to bother with this yet.
The study sponsored by Big Pharma has
confirmed its effectiveness.
The whole risk assessment thing,
it reminds me of any time now I
put my actual body weight into something
and they give me a BMI reading back
on it.
And they're like, oh, well,
you're five foot six and one hundred
eighty five pounds.
You're obese.
Am I?
Am I?
I really don't feel like I am.
Well, whether we like it or not,
genetics plays a role, too.
Oh,
they factor in genetics because they make
you now fill out a survey.
of your your family history in certain
diseases and all of that goes into the
overall risk assessment yeah i want to
guess who's paying for all those fancy
machines spent thirteen years in big
pharma that's your clue absolutely dude
I roll my eyes so hard every time
I'm watching regular TV because every five
minutes when they break commercial,
one commercial at every commercial break
is one from,
ask your doctor if metformin is right for
you.
Ask your doctor if whatever is right for
you.
Ask your doctor if getting off your ass
and going to the gym is right for
you.
That needs to be a commercial.
But you're leaving out the part where you
may get some swelling between your
genitals and anus.
Your teeth may all fall out and one
of your eyeballs might start bleeding,
but your risk of bad cholesterol might go
down as well.
Every single one of them, it seems like,
what is it?
Your risk of bleeding may increase.
Also, sudden death.
Dude,
I'm not taking anything that comes with an
increased risk of sudden death in an
effort to level out something else.
No, I'm good.
My wife gets so pissed off every time
the Jardians commercial comes on and it
says there may be swelling between the
genitals and anus.
She's like,
do I really need to know that?
I'm not taking it.
I don't need to know it right now.
If I'm prescribed it,
they can tell me when they give me
the drug that my anus may explode.
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
Vicky.
The anti-depression drug may give you
suicidal thoughts.
Yeah, I never understood that one either.
I don't get that at all.
I about shit a brick when I saw
a drug advertisement directed at kids.
That would... Any drug can cause death,
technically.
I get that part, Shanna.
What bothers me is that they're trying to
sell you something.
That is so true.
It's a different type of swelling down
there.
They're trying to actually increase it.
Anyway, Shanna,
I understand that any drugs can cause
death technically.
Too much Tylenol could probably take you
out.
What I don't understand is that
they're trying to sell you something
that's going to make you feel better in
whatever way, whatever,
whatever that ends up being.
But then one of the side effects is
possible death.
Like, that's what I don't want to get.
Well, you know, you might die,
but you know,
your cholesterol levels are going to look
fantastic.
Fantastic.
Great.
I don't need that.
Flying motorcycles may increase your risk
of sudden death.
Yeah.
Yeah.
But that at least that's fun.
Yeah.
I'd be okay with dying like that.
Going out like, what's his name?
The superhero with the flaming skull.
That would be Ghost Rider.
Ghost Rider.
Ghost Rider, are we cleared?
Negative Ghost Rider, the pattern is full.
As a non-American,
y'all have no idea how wild it is
to us that you got drugs advertised on
TV.
Oh, we know.
Yeah, believe me.
As an American,
I've been an American for forty nine years
now.
It is insane to me that they are
allowed to advertise for prescription
drugs on television.
That is that's an insane thing to me.
It's crazy.
um if it causes diarrhea most do there's
a reason it's not supposed to be there
and your body is protesting
I don't know how the hell we get
on these topics, but we always seem to.
Because we were talking about your...
My risk assessment.
Your risk assessment.
So in January,
before I had the sinus surgery and the
heart ablation and all that,
my risk assessment was at eighteen
percent.
And she's predicting it'll be more than
greater than ten percent down.
Sweet.
After the blood tests get back.
Blood pressure was one,
fifteen over seventy.
Resting heart rate was sixty.
Blood ox was ninety-eight.
I could start a medical show after I
rattled all that off.
This is your Playsdale Media Medical Hour.
I'll be on Chicago Med next week.
Scott's going to be on nine, one, one.
Shit.
I don't know.
Just pick one of the nine one ones.
Whichever one's closest to you.
Vellner needs another ablation.
I think I heard that.
I did not hear that.
I didn't hear that.
They do tell you when you get the
ablation.
There's no way they can tell what's
sending the missed signal.
So they're just guessing and hitting the
most prominent one that does.
And most times they're right.
it's just occasionally the wrong.
And sometimes they have to go back in
and try another one.
Cause it is a practice.
Yeah.
It's not a, it's not medical certainty.
It's medical practice.
Practice.
Yeah.
Guess we're going to practice.
Guess we're going to lab coat.
Gotta love it.
Oh man.
Seema, we never move on from work.
I know we've moved on from it,
but I hate Microsoft Authenticator so
much.
They've given me the same passcode for two
weeks,
and I have to sign it at least
ten to twenty times a day.
Shoot me.
My favorite part, Seema,
is that now my password has to be
half a novel.
And listen,
I've been typing since I was like twelve
years old,
but I am not the most accurate typer
in the world.
Backspace is my friend.
But when you have to type a novel
for your password, by the fifth attempt,
I am like hunting and pecking to make
sure that I spell the whole thing right.
Your password must be at least twelve
characters,
and it must not be any of your
previous passwords.
It has to include a special character and
a number and one capital letter.
Yep.
Ours has to be,
ours has to be twenty some characters long
now.
Jesus Christ.
Mine does not, thankfully.
And so like literally mine is a sentence
that I have come up with that I
have to type that sentence and it has
to be changed every forty five days or
something like that.
like to log into my computer and to
get into all of our systems that we
use over here it's not every forty five
days thankfully but it is like once a
quarter basically and I'll get a I'll log
in and my computer will be like your
password is expiring in fifteen days you
might want to change it alright cool I
guess I will um
So Mark got that from Boys Interrupted.
He had it on the background,
wasn't really paying attention.
Leto confirms that that's what she
understood, too,
from the wild data that the heart rate
monitor at the game showed,
that he needs another one.
Barry, if I could go passwordless, I mean,
my phone is all my face.
Everything is my face.
Mine, too.
I don't know why my work can't get
on board with that.
We have to be on camera for meetings.
Just I'll turn the camera on.
Hey guys, it's me again.
Steve, I never used Scott one, two, three.
Mine was password one, one, one, one.
What's your password?
It's password one.
What is it now?
It's password one, two.
The old...
Our old password for the iPad we no
longer use at the gym was two, four,
six, eight, ten.
Which I thought was...
What's amazing is your iPad had a ten
button.
I've never heard of that one before.
Well, it was on there.
I guess you can call it two, four,
six, eight, one, zero.
But... That's what it was.
No,
I thought it was so clever because that
was the only thing we used it for
was to turn music on,
like to play Spotify through it.
And it was...
I was like, man,
that's really easy to remember.
That was super cool.
Might as well have a novel for a
passcode.
I know, Shanna,
and I'm trying to quit reading,
but nobody is letting me.
It's a shame.
It's a shame.
It's a crying shame.
Barry, my company is the state of Ohio,
and they are twenty five years behind in
technology.
The state of Louisiana would like to have
a word.
Hexy lover, for the umpteenth time,
Corey's background is not backwards.
You have to have a setting on your
computer that has flipped it.
A hundred percent.
I made sure the first time I ever
logged on here and was getting all my
shit situated was that everything was on
the correct side of where I expected it
to be.
Because when you first log on,
a lot of times it is reversed and
I unreversed it so that I didn't,
because it was driving me nuts.
Looking at it and going,
that's not where that is.
This is where this is.
This is my left hand.
That is on the left side.
It's amazing how that works.
John George,
what makes you think we taught CrossFit on
this show?
Yeah, this isn't really...
It's not really what we do.
Honestly, I didn't even... I had no...
I actually didn't see J.R.
and Seth on Coffee Pods and Wads.
I do believe that J.R.
crushed the programming for Waterpalooza.
I have no doubt in my mind about
that.
That dude knows what he's doing, but...
I believe that.
Here's my problem, John.
I'm a fan of CrossFit.
I don't need to know why it's programmed.
I just want to watch and see them
do shit.
Now,
I have to talk programming sometimes
because Jamie and Carolyn talk about it.
Sometimes Corey talks about it because
they have to do the event.
I don't have to do it if I
don't want to.
And I just watch.
So programming isn't like high on my list
of things to watch.
It's up there with books and reading.
um but you know i get it i
i saw some clips from it i think
they articulated what the reasoning behind
it all was um but i i did
not tune in for the whole thing i
like peter's stuff i tune into him all
the time but i don't tune in for
like programming shows very often i catch
as many of peter's lives live things as
i can um
But yeah, it's a hit or miss basis.
I mean,
I got notifications turned on for him.
So if I can catch it, I do.
If not, I miss it.
And I'm not one to go back and
watch live shows, generally speaking.
Well,
I can tell you it's going to be
a fun watch.
That's all I need to know.
Yeah, I have no problem believing it.
I'll look at the programming when I'm like
trying to make my picks,
like to see who's good at what.
And then, you know,
but I don't like my, my,
my mind can't,
can't comprehend half the shit.
Scott's not a programming nerd.
That's fine.
Not a big deal.
Sten is saying your shirts read backwards.
They look fine to me.
Yeah, that says Bunce.
And the other one says Emom Company and
they are reading left to right on my
screen.
No idea.
I spend a lot of time in a
car,
so I have a full time once I've
burned through all your stuff.
Okay.
Well,
I'm assuming you're in a car now trying
to type and drive or to speak in
text.
Well, he just,
I think he needs to get,
he's got a whole lot of time once
he's burned through all of our stuff.
He just going to go ahead and listen
to whatever else he can find.
Uh, so I,
I see it's being brought up here.
I have it on my list.
We lost two masters athletes, um,
this week, uh,
linda elston uh lost her battle with
cancer earlier in the week um i believe
she competed against shanna at the games
on several occasions um linda was a
nine-time crossfit games athlete who last
competed in i believe if i looked correct
um
great woman great athlete great ambassador
for the sport uh and we lost her
earlier in the week we talked about it
on tuesday night a little bit and then
it came out this morning that jason bowers
uh passed away within the last twenty four
hours or it was monday monday yeah it
was monday um
Jason was a friend.
He will be thoroughly missed if you're on
Instagram at all following any of the
competitions that he was at,
which was most of the ones that he
could qualify for.
He was in my age group.
He was one of the kindest,
most genuine people I've ever had the
opportunity to meet,
and we only actually met a handful of
times in person.
Sucks, dude.
i was not okay yesterday when i heard
and i had talked to a couple different
people about it and uh praying for him
and his his entire family uh shanna yes
several times she had to pull out of
her tenth games because of cancer that
sucks um yeah uh condolences and respect
to metcon rush on the tribute
Yeah,
lots of people doing tributes to both of
these athletes, and they both deserve it.
Absolutely.
So, yeah.
Yeah, they both, you can tell,
had lots of friends in the space.
Yeah, dude.
The other lady, obviously, I did not know,
but I can speak from experience that Jason
was a good dude.
um and he is he's somebody i looked
for on every online qualifier that i've
done because he's your age the age right
and he did a lot of them man
love competing so he was
He was at legends last year.
And I remember, um, or dude,
and he got, his plane was delayed,
like some ridiculous amount of time to
where he barely just made it in time
for the first event.
If I remember right.
And, uh, he was super pumped though,
still,
because it was his first time actually
qualifying for it.
Um, which was pretty awesome.
And then he was at, uh,
semifinals with me in Birmingham this
year.
Uh, uh,
and just again super grateful super
excited to be there you know and leaving
everything he had on the floor which is
what he did that's what i love about
our community we are off family linda was
the kindest competitor i knew and nobody
exemplifies that community like the
masters and i know that
That we talk about them a lot on
here.
That's why I love hanging out at the
Masters competitions.
Because it is like a big family.
It's like a family reunion every time you
go to a major competition.
And that's why it pisses me off when
those competitions are treated like shit.
Yeah.
But I do have one more little mini
riff to talk about.
And that is that
CrossFit HQ had an affiliate gathering and
they gave a presentation using PowerPoint.
I'm sorry, what?
You say PowerPoint?
Yes.
I believe the barbell spin got copies of
the PowerPoint.
What year are we in?
My point exactly.
When was the last time that PowerPoint was
a relevant presentation tool?
Actually that people actually,
actually care about,
but I'm just throwing out a number,
but that's probably because I remember
like, Oh,
I'm putting together a PowerPoint
presentation for my class at college.
This is a fitness company.
that have some of the most jacked bodies
in the space.
They are making people healthy.
There are thousands of people who have
lost significant amount of weight in the
hundreds.
And you resort to words on a PowerPoint
to give your presentation.
Did they have the slide slide in over
the next one and then kind of expand?
I was not privy to being at the
affiliate gathering to see the PowerPoint.
But the only thing, like, oh my God,
if I was there,
the only thing that even irks me more
is when you go and someone pulls up
a PowerPoint and then they read the slide
to you.
Oh, yes, Barry.
He used Clippy from MS Office.
Clippy helped him get it done.
Good night.
It wouldn't surprise me.
PowerPoint, dude.
Oh, my word.
So when I was the training lead for
our state and I had a team of
trainers, if they used PowerPoint,
I gave them a maximum number of words
they were even allowed to put on the
screen.
I wanted pictures.
I wanted just like a quote or a
statement.
And then you talk to the people.
Yeah.
Right?
The reason I hate PowerPoint is because
everybody writes a novel on it that nobody
can read from the back row anyway.
And then you stand up there with your
back to the audience and read it.
Yeah.
It'd be like if I did a show
like this.
Well,
I think you just fixed Hexy Lover's
problem.
Good night, dude.
Like, I just...
It reminds me of like every safety
training video I ever saw when I worked
construction because those were put
together by PowerPoint and then put onto a
VHS tape,
which we then watched in somebody's safety
room, right?
And there's probably some guy standing
there and he's talking like this.
And then all of a sudden a slide
comes across the screen and
Right.
I think they used Windows XP.
They did.
I was going to say ninety-five.
Windows ninety-five, baby.
First PC I ever had had Windows
ninety-five on it,
and I thought I was hot shit.
You hear me?
Oh, no, no.
We got Windows ninety-five.
This ain't no four-eight-six SX.
What are you, out of your mind?
They need...
They need to take a Toastmasters class.
Wow, VHS throwback.
Yep.
That's what Corey will do for you.
He'll take you all the way back.
Hey, bro, just saying.
Hey, the XP is king,
and they're Green Hill wallpaper.
Oh,
out here playing Minesweeper that people
still don't know how to play.
It's fine.
Barry still plays Ski Free.
That was actually a fun game.
Ski Free, Minesweeper.
And if you were really lucky,
you got the pinball name on it where
you had to like...
Make sure you're actually touching it.
Duck Hunt wasn't on Windows XP, Fergie.
No.
Fergie's got his shit all.
Fergie's still looking for the Commodore .
Let's be honest.
Right.
He's just found out how to code to
repeat his name down the screen endlessly.
I'm going to write this thing down for
like three and a half hours on this.
Basically a keyboard that I hooked up to
my grandma's TV.
And then it's going to show a countdown.
It's going to go around a server.
It's going to change color every time it
goes around and it's going to count down
and go boom.
Barry says three D pinball space cadet.
Yes.
Yes.
He Barry knows.
Yeah.
Fergie had to load his punch cards to
start a program.
That is good.
Here you go.
What do you mean?
You don't just randomly click squares on
my speaker.
I did my wife.
Oh my God, dude.
Every night she sits there with her iPad
and she plays solitaire.
Now, she doesn't play the game.
She has like a little, one of those,
the pens that have the soft end on
them.
Yeah, a stylus.
Stylus, yeah.
She is essentially just playing
whack-a-mole.
Yeah, absolutely.
Because she's just going column to column,
hitting the cards,
because it'll sort them for you if you
just hit them all.
Yeah.
Yeah.
i'm like you're not even playing solitary
you're playing whack-a-mole shut up just
let me do my thing oh it's fine
it's absolutely fine uh i have some three
and a half floppies with pictures on them
each one holds eight feet let me ask
you this one if you got a floppy
disk
What do you hook it up to?
Because there's not a computer in
existence right now outside of maybe
somewhere in rural Idaho that could
actually still has a floppy disk
attachment on it.
Unless you've got like some sort of shit
you've been just keeping,
keeping maintained for the past thirty
years.
i was gonna i was gonna say i
used to play a game called like super
bowl sunday where it was on like commodore
you would call a play and then you
didn't even run the people like you just
called the play and then it would go
but it took like fifteen discs to load
oh yeah at the time you got it
loaded up you're like i'm exhausted yeah
i'm not even if i can play now
Well,
because there's nothing you can do in the
meantime.
You load it, and you're like,
I guess I'm going to go make a
sandwich because this is going to be a
while.
Come back later.
All right, I guess that one's loaded.
Now load disc three.
Okay, I guess I'm loading disc three.
No, I'm one hundred percent.
I feel that all night.
Fergie learned to play Wii Tennis from the
recliner.
Drove his daughters crazy.
Bro.
Whack on whack-a-mole.
Ooh.
I like that.
floppy disk was the name of my punk
band ladies and gentlemen we are floppy
disk
Are we?
Are we?
Well,
I think the S is in the wrong
place.
Probably.
Probably so.
Probably so.
If you're a punk band,
there's probably a better chance you're
floppy dicks than you are floppy disc.
And I said that fast for a reason.
Yes.
Got it.
Got it.
No, you still burn CDs.
Standy.
where do you play them my car still
has a cd player my jeep has a
cd player i have the one cd that
i own in it it's been in it
since i bought it since i bought the
jeep because up until not that long ago
i still had my old uh my cd
case with like all my mixed cds in
it and whatnot but i'm pretty sure my
wife threw it away because i can't find
it anymore
Eight pictures on a floppy disk and having
to record the same song nine times on
a cassette in order to listen to it
on repeat near Walkman.
Bet.
It's not my, actually, Steve,
it's not my mix CD,
but it is one of my friends,
one of my DJ friends' mix CD from
like probably two thousand and thirteen.
Well, two thousand thirteen,
somewhere along those lines.
What was lost with losing the Walkman and
cassettes was the mixtape.
Yeah, absolutely.
The mixtape.
Mixed CD,
like you just put the songs together,
burn, right?
Yeah.
Mixtape took thought, took timing.
Time and effort.
Getting that transition between the songs,
maybe put that pencil in,
twist it a little bit to get a
space between the songs, right?
and um depending on what year you were
actually making the mix cd not getting the
dj's voice in it because you had to
record it off the radio to begin with
shut up dude you're talking over the best
part song yeah
My truck has a cassette player.
Jesus Christ.
Okay,
so go ahead and get that because as
soon as you do that.
I had a Discman when I would go
to the gym and it looked like I
was testing for radiation.
that is fantastic um let me go back
up because this is actually from viking
here we go where is it at uh
vicky said you know you mean you want
to take a battery-powered boom box in the
car and put it in the passenger seat
so fun fact there vicky miss miss producer
lady doc there is that my first ever
vehicle i ever owned was a nineteen ninety
two nissan hard body pickup truck
Single cab, five speed.
When I tell you it had no options,
like roll down windows,
it's a five speed and didn't have a
tack on it.
So you just kind of shifted whenever you
felt the need.
And no radio.
There's a spot where the radio went,
right?
Well,
I didn't have a radio when I first
got it.
I didn't have money.
I was a kid.
But I did have a boom box in
my room.
So I took the cover off of the
back of the speakers,
set those onto the floor behind the seats.
That's the only place they would fit.
And I took the actual center part of
my boom box and set it right there
next to me on the bench seat.
And that was my radio for the longest
time.
And I just bought a lot of D
batteries because there was nowhere to
hook.
Like you couldn't,
You know what I'm saying?
Like there was no, uh,
like power converter you could buy back
then to like be able to plug it
into anything.
So I just ran off of batteries.
And if I'm having to run off right
now,
run out of batteries on the way to
school one morning.
Well, I guess that's what I was,
I was done with a bunch of bums.
There it is.
That's what we call ourselves now in our
group chat.
Makes sense.
Bunch of bums.
Um,
I used to go for runs with a
Discman in my fanny pack.
There's just a whole lot to unpack there,
Meredith.
A whole lot.
If you went for a run with a
Discman, God bless you,
because even with anti-skip on,
you wouldn't have any problems.
Yeah.
You were getting the dance remix for sure.
Whether if you wanted it or not.
Yeah.
Yeah, see, like, Lito knows.
Boom.
I never claimed to be cool.
I never claimed to be a role model.
Same, Mark.
I couldn't mow grass without my Discman
skipping.
I know.
Like,
I had to tape down my Discman in
the car just so it wouldn't skip.
Oh, yeah.
Absolutely.
Look, Mark said it must be nice.
I had a .
Mark, I had a great uncle.
had a who had an old beetle i
don't know what year it was i just
remember that he had it forever all my
they all work construction they all work
you know chemical plants and whatnot and
to prevent anybody from riding with him he
took the passenger seat out of it and
just drove to work by himself to prevent
anybody from even asking to ride with him
he was like nah i'm not even dealing
with that i'm just gonna take the seat
out of this bad boy if anybody wants
to ride and be like i mean you
can ride dog but
Ain't nowhere for you to sit,
so you're just going to have to sit
on the floor and call it good.
The best thing about those old Beetles,
and my mom had like three of them,
she swore they were the greatest car ever
made,
but the best part about them is when
they broke down,
they were easy to push off the road.
Oh, yeah, absolutely.
That was a solo job.
Light, rolls real easy,
all the way to the back anyway,
so you got to get it going and
it'd go right on off.
Yeah.
All right, man.
I got to get back to work.
Yeah, I got to go eat.
Fun show today.
Hope everybody had a good time.
So go upstairs.
Going to listen to some Casey Kasem.
Dude.
Not Casey Kasem.
Oh, Rick Dees.
No, Rick Dees is back on the radio.
No.
So I listen to my favorite morning show
every morning.
It's on iHeartRadio, right?
And you listen to iHeartRadio,
you'll get local commercials and you'll
get iHeartRadio commercials.
And apparently Rick Dees is on
iHeartRadio.
He's seventy six.
Just looked it up.
Does that make sense?
Is he trying to take over the mantle
of the world's oldest teenager from Dick
Clark?
uh yes rig these is back on the
radio i don't know i think we talked
yesterday about like sometimes something's
so good you you don't want to bring
it back like the terry tate commercial
that's what we talked about yesterday yes
it gets so good any kind of remix
of that would taint it i want solid
gold rick d's yes
I don't want today's Rick D's.
No, no.
So his voice still sounds the same,
but it also sounds like he's as old
as you see as he actually is.
Does that make sense?
Like it's still that deep kind of
whatever.
But it also sounds like he's seventy six
years old because he is seventy six years
old.
I just I heard the other day and
I was like, oh, shit, I mean,
I tell you, I forgot.
And you just said radio stuff.
So I need to do that.
Adam Schefter just reported Sam Darnold
will miss next week for sure.
Oh,
while we're talking about sports right
quick,
did you see that the SEC meeting that's
supposed to take place today is no longer
going to be discussing whether or not to
kick LSU out of the SEC?
Because they want a shot at the national
championship.
They went ahead and just was like,
you know what?
We're heading in this one direction,
but we should probably turn around.
It just went a hundred eighty degrees in
the other way.
Is Mark Phillips talking about my buddy?
Yes.
Came back as Chucky.
He ain't wrong.
If you watch old episodes of Dance Party
USA,
you'll be amazed our generation
reproduced.
uh that's fantastic perky's got a point
and uh i saw it someone said they
had drake may last night in the fantasy
leg um i think sam donald only playing
five plays got more points because drake
may got all the negative points with with
the interceptions
I see.
Yeah, that's probably not accurate.
That is unfortunate.
That's my twenty five percent that I'm
allowed to be off, give or take.
That is unfortunate, as it turns out.
But three interceptions in one game.
Sorry about the Patriots.
I it makes me so sad that they
lost last night.
It doesn't make me sad at all.
That's what I'm, again, sarcasm.
Sarcasm.
It's the eleventh general physical skill
at our gym.
I don't know if you know that or
not.
That's what we claim it to be anyway.
There's a ten general physical skills that
CrossFit puts out, but the eleventh one,
honestly, is sarcasm.
This is Jeremy's way of preparing for our
Ye Sports show every Tuesday night at six
p.m.
Eastern time.
Yay, sports.
I don't know if you noticed that, Jeremy,
but today's Thursday.
You're a little ahead of the game there,
brother.
Dude, you got to prepare all week.
It's a weekly show.
You don't just talk about stuff that
happened that day.
Maybe you don't.
Dude, I just live sports,
so it's not – I don't prepare.
I just live.
Look,
I am actually planning on – I got
to see what time they actually play,
but I might actually try to watch the
Saints this weekend.
I can't even comprehend that.
I do not miss Bears games.
I just don't.
There's nothing in this world that would
stop me from...
If my wife got hurt and we had
to go to the hospital,
it would be on my phone on the
way to the ER.
There's just too many ways to watch now.
I get that to a degree,
and we're like that about LSU games,
but it's been so long, dude.
Like, I got to get back into it.
I love them.
I hope they win.
I really do, every single week.
Same thing with Manchester United.
There was a point in my life where
I did not miss a single game, but,
like,
I just got other shit priorities going on,
especially on Sundays, dude.
Like,
my Sundays are busy nine times out of
ten.
Church in the morning, football all day.
church in the morning meal prep uh might
may or may not have to cut the
grass probably gonna go work out like i
got a whole bunch of other shit going
on so dude i need highlights you can't
you can watch this game on your phone
it can go to the kitchen with you
and you're meal prepping actually my my
kitchen is actually in my living room
where the tv is because it's literally
look i could be cooking
And if I turn this way,
there's a TV.
Sixty-five inches worth.
All right.
But I'm sick.
I have two TVs in my living room,
so I can watch two sports at the
same time.
It is a different thing.
But with that,
I'm going to head out of here.
You guys have a great day.
Don't forget to get your thirdsy.
Don't forget to order your t-shirts if you
want.
We'll show the thing tomorrow.
But Vicki, take us out.
You wouldn't wait to get to the editing
room to jazz me up.
I'm already jazzy.
From the gym to the screen, yeah,
we cover it all.
Midday motivation every time we press
call.
Lunch with the Clydesdale,
cowboy in the heat.
CrossFit movies, music on repeat.
