What is The Man Warrior King Podcast - Confident Christian Men and Passionate Marriages?

Faith and masculinity meet kingdom living to help Christian husbands rebuild their confidence and masculine strength, so they can enjoy attraction-filled and passionate marriages.

You want to live a life on fire and on mission.

You want to be filled with such conviction and drive that you stop caring about what ANYone thinks.

You want to face each day alive, authentic, and fully present in every moment: with your wife, kids, on the street, at the gym, at work.

You want to bring yourSELF to the table, and to stop bringing the watered-down, nice, what everyone wants version of you.

You want that self to be a man who is burning in passion for Jesus, unafraid to bring his kingdom to anyone in your path, no matter the cost.

You want to love the one in front of you without fear, without needing love back, and without reserve.

You want to experience God for real, to not just believe, but to KNOW that he’s got you and that he’ll show up on your behalf. That he’ll show up THROUGH you.

You want to get to the end of your race and say, “Yep…I gave it everything. Jesus, you know I’m all in.”

...And you want to know just how to get there.

Welcome to Man Warrior King. Congratulations. You are among the violent taking the kingdom by force. You are among the chosen, answering the call to rise above your self. You are in the forge being stripped down and strengthened—and you WILL rise stronger, solid, unshakeable.

You are a man. You are a warrior. You are a king.

Good evening and welcome to the next episode of the Man Warrior King podcast and the live stream that we are doing right now. It is the beginning of 2025 and I want to start this year off by letting you in to see real time firsthand.

process that I am in and going to go through as I am looking for some significant change, some significant breakthrough, and just a victory this year. There's some elements of life that I'm ready to be done with, and they are things that are common to many.

And so I want to honor you by being honest with you. I want to honor you by letting you see that

Even someone like me who's written the book, the DNA of a man, maybe you've read it, maybe you've been blessed by it, your life has been changed by it, but I want you to see that I am still in process. So the main way that I'm looking for drastic significant change this year is in finances.

for my wife and I have been married now for 17 years. And during our engagement year, if you've listened to the show for any length of time, you may know during our engagement year, I got, I started developing symptoms of arthritis, autoimmune body attacking itself, that kind of thing. And long story short, it got really bad, really fast.

And that has set us off on a trajectory that was not good financially.

that disease brought on discouragement and depression. It brought on a lack of motivation, all these things. I gave into self pity. I gave up confidence, all that. Then you couple that with the fact that being raised in church culture, I had unhealthy notions about money. had these, these,

ideas that money was not really that important, that I wouldn't need to earn income. And I definitely didn't need to earn a massive income that all along the way God would keep paying my paycheck. Does God do that? Yeah. Does he provide? Yes.

Have I seen him do miracles of provision? Absolutely. Many, even in the last year, but I had no value for wealth building. had no value for making above and beyond enough income. I was like, well, whatever amount I need God, I'll just trust God to figure that out and pay me. And that may sound good and noble and, and, know,

the kingdom way to some people, but really it was lazy of me. It was lazy of me and it was self-righteous. I had this self-righteous attitude that I had figured out the right way and everybody out there working to make money was missing it.

Long story short again, our whole marriage, we've struggled with money. And by that, mean, we've struggled with not having enough. There were times

when I was nearly bedridden and as some of you know living at my mom's house, married, shoot my wife, myself and our toddler living at my mom's house paying her tiny bit of rent.

There are times that I couldn't work at all because of not being able to get out of bed and not even being able to like sit up in bed and not even be able to like move my hands to type and just in agony and excruciating pain.

As I wasn't able to work.

And didn't believe God for something better. And we didn't have money. mean, there were many times where we had to live on a credit card. And I say had to, maybe there was another way. At the time, that's what I thought. That's what we did.

This is coupled with so many stories of God showing himself in ways of provision.

So there's wins and losses all along the way. that brings us to now we've been able to increase over the years. went from living at my mom's house to renting a place to now in the process of purchasing a place here. We're in this place, but we're paying the mortgage, right?

And yet there's never been sustained financial growth. There's, there's never been sustained more than enough income. There's never been a period where, where we had a surplus and we had a solid

inflow that we could rely on. knew it was going to keep on coming. We've had times of surplus. We've had times of large influxes of income, especially in the coaching that I've done, marriage coaching and in book sales and things like that.

but for various reasons, particularly marketing and my own needing to learn all of that, that hasn't maintained.

And I've done many different things in business to generate leads, to keep a steady inflow of customers. And many times those things that I've studied, that I have tested, that I've gotten feedback on to be really, really good quality, many times they haven't actually worked. When it comes time to hit launch, they...

they haven't worked, like advertising.

I'm not going to go into all of the reasons why I don't know all of the reasons why I have theories about it. But what I want you to know is that my wife and I right now are in a time that's tight. And don't worry, this is not a pitch for supporting us in any way. This, this is an invitation for you to watch the process because

As has been the case for years in my life, I have discovered truth from the Lord.

that I know is true, even though I have not yet seen the fullness of its manifestation in my life. Case in point, my health. That has been a major topic of mine in the podcast over the years. It's been a major topic that comes up when I'm coaching guys.

Years ago when I was bedridden, I discovered that God does not want me sick.

He wants his people well, and that belief has only grown and actually probably gotten more and more extreme over the years to the point right now where I deeply know that it is a Christian person's inheritance. It is their right to live free of sickness, not just getting sick, just like everybody else, cause it's the way of the world and then getting healed from it, but to not even

have to settle for it in the first place. And the point of this podcast is to not go, is not to go into all of the theology and Bible verses for that, but that's where I'm at. I've seen dozens and dozens of people get miraculously healed when I pray for them.

And that's things like broken toes, legs that were due to get amputated, cancers, strange diseases, bad backs, things like that.

car accident injuries, broken femurs. I've seen so many things get healed because I've decided that that's how I believe and that's what I'm going to do. That's what I'm going to act on.

and yet my own body

has, I don't think ever responded to somebody praying for healing. Ever. I've never felt a physical difference from that at all.

but I still go and I still believe and I believe for my own self and I've taken ownership over my own health and healing. I'm not putting it off on God saying, God, why aren't you doing it? God, maybe your timing hasn't come yet. I actually believe that God has made it available and it's my responsibility to grow up into faith.

and to have my mind renewed so that the body transformation can happen.

My wife and I experienced years of difficulty in our relationship, in our marriage. And that even continued even once she and I together discovered in scripture that God wants marriages to be blissful, passionate, delighted, connected.

hot. And we began to believe that even before we saw it. And now our marriage is in a better place than it's ever been. We still have rough patches. I'm going to do another episode on that. But right now we are, we are so much closer than ever.

And that process is why I coach men. I help them get from where their wives can hardly stand them, maybe even thinking about cheating on them, to a place where their wives want them again.

But right. So we've made this practice of seeing something in God's word better than what we've experienced and better honestly than usually what is being taught. And we believe it with everything we've got. And this, this moment right now, money is that focus for us. It's the focus of our belief.

I have long since abandoned my beliefs about money from my upbringing and not that my mom taught me this or anything, but just from, from church culture upbringing, that money is kind of taboo and in you can make some, but don't make too much. Cause then that starts to get into excess and selfishness.

that you've got to be careful with it and God will choose who he decides to make rich and not everybody does get that. And, and, but we all have to work anyway, that kind of stuff. I've left that behind long ago because I've looked in scripture and I've seen that the, it has Proverbs that says the reward of fear of the Lord and humility is rich as an honor.

Deuteronomy says that he gives us the power to create wealth.

The New Testament tells us that Jesus, who was rich, became poor so that by his poverty we might become rich.

the type of salvation, one of the biggest, if not the biggest type of salvation or the foreshadowing of salvation in Jesus was the people of Israel leaving Egypt through Passover, through the sacrificed lamb and the blood being painted on their doorways.

They began, they went through all of that the morning after the angel of death had come, God gave them favor with the Egyptians and the people of Israel actually just took gold and silver with them that had been freely offered to them by the Egyptians. So this initial salvation of God's people entailed a massive

influx of wealth.

I believe that God wants people wealthy.

Yes, spiritually, but also monetarily. And my wife and I have lived for years.

with ebbs and flows of, we don't have enough this month.

And to some on the outside, may call that living by faith and okay, maybe, but it's also maddening. It's also frustrating. And here's the thing, gentlemen, it will play with a man's self-worth. And I know I'm talking to people who can relate with that. As a man, we are wired to take care of our family, to provide for our family.

And when it feels to us like we are not, there are attacks on our, on our worth, on our confidence, on our identity. And, and that stinkin' spirit of shame comes around and knocks on the door.

Wondering if we will agree with it.

And by spirit of shame, mean a demon of shame will come and knock on your door and say, Hey, I see you. I know you're trying really hard.

And I, you, you, you know what? God sees that too. The problem is that you're just not able. You're not enough. You don't, you don't have what it takes, but good for you for putting your hearts in the right place.

See, temptations from hell don't always sound blatant.

Sometimes they carry with them a feeling of sympathy. Yeah, I understand where you're at.

That's what Satan did to Jesus. In the wilderness, he said he knew Jesus was fasting. He said, oh man, you must be so hungry, Jesus. I would be. If I was fasting like you in the desert for 40 days, man, you're incredible.

I you could probably turn that stone into bread, right?

That might help.

You understand what I'm saying?

So I've been experiencing this battle right now.

And you don't.

For the last several years, I have done Man Warrior King, book writing, book marketing, coaching, side by side with another business that I have done.

And that business has slowly just, I've had regular recurring customers that have slowly wrapped up and not needed any more work with me and to the point where my calendar is nearly empty.

And I am sitting here wrestling this thing out.

And so I want to.

invite you to the wrestling match in your own life. Maybe for you it's money, maybe for you it's not money.

Maybe for you, it's a health thing that just hasn't gone away. Maybe it's the marriage strife that hasn't gone away. Maybe it's just a feeling of unfulfilled dreams.

I want to caution you.

To be very, very mindful of what you think, what you allow to play through your mind.

Because.

if you begin to agree that you're just a screw up.

You are saying yes to hell's narrative that Satan would love for you to agree with. Because here's what happens when you agree.

You give him permission.

to now wreak havoc on your life in that area.

So how can you experience life change this year? How can you this year see things shift once and for all?

Well, I can give you a couple of keys that I have used in the past to see these things change that I'm going to use now for my own self. One is you have got to build for yourself a rock solid narrative that is constructed of God's promises.

Jesus told us, according to your faith will it be done to you.

And he said,

to the woman who touched his cloak, he said, your faith has made you well, not his, not, he decided to answer her prayer and he said, your faith has made you well. And according to your faith, be it done to you.

When you let thoughts from demonic entities come in and set up camp in you.

you are putting your faith in what they say. So for me, if I start to hear these thoughts of, just aren't going to be able to figure out how to make more than enough. Wealth is not in the cards for you. See to us that might, if I start feeling that and thinking that it might just feel like discouragement, it might feel like,

doubt might feel like hopelessness.

And those may be true, but in addition, what it also is, is faith.

It's like, wait, what?

It's also faith. Faith is always in operation in your life.

It's not that you just don't have faith. It's that you have faith, but you put it in the wrong places. Do you understand? So that type of thinking, I just don't have what it takes.

It's faith that I'm not going to succeed. am actually believing for a future outcome. Isn't that what the positive version of faith is? I'm going to believe for healing, for victory, for whatever it is. But in this case, I'm believing for defeat, believing for lack.

So when your narrative is formed by your feelings, which are negative, you are actually

daily, many times a day. You are planting seeds. Your words and your thoughts are seeds that are going to bear fruit. You're planting seeds for that negative out.

I know this because I lived it exclusively for years. And when I first saw my marriage transform, when I got my, like when I was able to get out of bed,

It happened because I changed my beliefs. changed my thoughts. And it is a war because there are days when your feelings come at you so strong and it's just the easiest thing in the world to just let them be in charge.

So you have to war against the old narrative on a daily basis.

And where do you get that narrative? Like I said, you get it from the promises of God.

Because I'm telling you, gentlemen, if you let go of your church culture thinking, some of these beliefs and teachings that we are all very familiar to us,

aren't even in the Bible.

and they keep you thinking that your life can only get so good before you hit the God ordained ceiling. And then you have to keep struggling. You have to dig in scripture for yourself to find the narrative for yourself, write it down for yourself, and then declare it over yourself. You've got to do this.

And this is what I have to do.

because

I have been hearing those voices of doubt.

I have... I have...

when you're staring at unpaid bills.

that you don't know where the payments going to come.

One of those thoughts is I am blowing it. I am letting my family down. I'm failing.

And it's easy to think that everything you're going after is wrong.

It's easy to think that God's not with you.

So I'm not gonna let that sink in.

And I know from scripture that he has success and prosperity for me and my family.

And so even when I don't know the specifics of how I'm going to get it, I do know that I'm going to believe for it and I'm going to keep going until I get it because he has said that that is mine. This is not entitlement. This is not selfishness. This is looking in his word, seeing that it's way too good to be true.

and saying yes to it anyway.

some of you.

You may not have experienced the life change and victory that you want yet because you look in his word and you actually explain it away.

You say no to it instead of yes. You say I'm not worth that, God. That's maybe true for some people, but it's not for me.

If you start saying yes to his word.

Yes to his promises.

That's going to bring change for you. I guarantee it will.

So let's start there.

Let's start there because if you go and do all the other things that you want to try to do to bring change, but you don't change your thinking, those other things you're doing have no foundation to stand on and they're going to collapse. Are we good? Good.
