Edna Harding [00:00:03]:
Welcome to Estrepreneur, a podcast for entrepreneurs and leaders doing business and life God's way. Each week we discuss biblical and practical tips to improve your mind, business, spirit, relationships and finances. Listen along as I speak with special guests on how to thrive in all aspects of life. Hi, I'm Edna. Like many of you, I wear many hats. I'm a military wife, mother, author, certified John Maxwell business and executive coach, trainer, and founder of Favor and wealth, where we help the good guys win. So tune in as we bring on the light.
Edna Harding [00:00:46]:
Well, hello everyone. Thank you for tuning in for another episode of the estherpreneur podcast. My name was Edna Harding, and I'm sorry. So excited that you're tuning in today because if you've been praying for profit but not living out proverbs, this is for you. Okay. We're starting a powerful three part series based on Solomon's timeless wisdom. I don't know about you guys, but I love Solomon. He is so wise.
Edna Harding [00:01:14]:
Obviously that's what the Bible says, but just if you read the proverbs and you read Ecclesiastes, this man had the supernatural wisdom from God. And so we're going to be gaining some principles from him for your business. And so glad you guys are here today. I had to break it down to three episodes because it's just a lot to cover and I don't want to rush to the process just to get the point across. So these are principles that the richest man in history used to build his kingdom, and they still work together today. So today we're going to talk about the foundations that fortune forgot, but proverbs didn't. Okay? So I'm glad you guys are here especially for new. If you're looking for a podcast that's going to teach you on how to apply strategies from the Bible into your business, you're in the right place, okay? And so we'll have lots of fun here.
Edna Harding [00:02:20]:
We learn a lot of practical things, but we also are filled with lots of truth. And so if that's what you're looking for, don't forget to, like, comment and subscribe. That really is going to help me with expanding the reach for this podcast. So glad you guys are here. Welcome, welcome, welcome. All right, so here's the deal, my friends. If you want kingdom type of success, okay, you need structures. Okay? You need kingdoms, specifically type of structures.
Edna Harding [00:02:55]:
And proverbs is your blueprint. So over the next three episodes, we're going to be walking over through seven, not three, seven proverbs that will transform your Business. And today we're going to cover the first three. And the first three is diligence, wise counsel, and integrity. Now, if you're like, well, I already know this, I'm going to skip this. Don't do it. My friends. You know, one thing about the Lord is he loves it when we're a student of his word.
Edna Harding [00:03:25]:
So I would read scriptures that I've read millions of times. I won't say millions, but lots and lots of times. And I always get something new out of it. So please, please, please don't tune me out and hear the spirit of God that's speaking through me. Now, for those of you guys who are not familiar with proverbs, a lot of times people think proverbs is like, just poetry, you know? But in reality, proverbs is actually entrepreneurship, okay? It's entrepreneurship with purpose. And I want to tell you guys a little bit about Solomon's background. Solomon was worth about an estimate of $2 trillion. Do you know any trillionaires right now? Anybody.
Edna Harding [00:04:09]:
Anybody know any trillionaires in real life? Okay, he was a trillionaire. And his wisdom was built. His wisdom was built by God, okay? It built a kingdom. Not just a blog or a product. It built a kingdom for God, okay? And Proverbs, what I love about Proverbs is it teaches you how to think, it teaches you how to decide. It teaches you how to act in ways that lines up with God's plan. If you. If you read Proverbs, chapter 1, verse 2 to 6, I want you guys to get your Bible.
Edna Harding [00:04:48]:
If you have access to your Bible, open up your Bible, Okay? Don't just listen to me, open up your Bible. And just a few things I want to highlight. It says, for gaining wisdom and instruction, let the discerning get guidance. Okay? I just. Just picked certain phrases. So the message is this, right? You can be super smart, but if you're not wise, if you're not discipled and guided, your genius won't produce fruit, okay? Proverbs, hear me, my friends, is your operational manual for building a business that honors God and thrives. All right? So let's focus on Proverbs, chapter 21, verse 5, which is the first proverb I'm going to talk about, which is diligence, plans of the diligence. Diligent leads to profit, but haste leads to poverty.
Edna Harding [00:05:48]:
So a lot of times, us entrepreneurs, we're wired for emergency, right? We're wired for a shortcut, right? So we want, for example, to go viral overnight. We want fast funding. We want A quick exit. But the biblical path is very different. It's actually preparedness and patience. And this is what a lot of people struggle with. You know, they want to hear, yeah, you can make six figures in six months. I mean, reality of it is, if they're selling you that, they're lying, my friends.
Edna Harding [00:06:16]:
Especially if you don't have a proof of concept, if you already have an established business and maybe you have, you know, a lot of things in place, which is very rare. Most of the people I've worked with don't really have a lot of things in place, are missing some key components. You're not going to grow fast, you're not going to scale fast. You need to have these systems in place again, the structure in place so that you can, what, steward the increase. Well, okay, and, and this is the kind of thing that's missing, right? So if, if you, if you're looking for shortcuts, if you're looking for quick wins, fast wins. Guess what, my friends, you shouldn't, you're, you're, you're, you're not doing what the Bible says. You know, a lot of times people are like, oh, you go from the pit to the palace. It was overnight, it was a suddenly.
Edna Harding [00:07:04]:
Do you know, in reality the suddenly, I think it was. Who was it? I think it was Paula White who shared this. I don't, I think, I'm pretty sure it was her. That said a suddenly is actually it take five years. That's a suddenly. Okay, So a lot of times we think that, oh, it's going to be suddenly, it's going to be quick, like tomorrow. But in reality, it's a process. Oh, I know.
Edna Harding [00:07:27]:
You're tuning me out now. Like, I don't want to listen to this episode anymore. I know, my friends, but I'm here to speak truth in love, right? If you want truth, stay. If you don't want to, go ahead and leave, because that's what you're going to get on this podcast. Okay? So again, you have to have preparedness. You have to prepare and you also have to be patient because this is what biblical diligence looks like. Smart planning, for example, that includes deep market research, real projections, real contingency plans, okay? You got to have consistent effort. You got to show up daily, you got to build in unseen seasons, and you have to have smart reinvestments.
Edna Harding [00:08:07]:
That means bootstrapping, sustainable funding and long term streams. You're not looking for easy, quick wins. Okay? For your proof of concept, yes, you want quick wins. Get the most Minimum viable product out there. Get a proof of concept, get some testimonials and start milking that baby. But in the beginning, you really have to show me what you got, Right? Show me what you got. Look. Look at what you have and really build something with what you have.
Edna Harding [00:08:34]:
You don't need all the bells and whistles. You don't need all the fancy stuff. Please learn from my mistakes. We have no one to impress, okay? You have no one to impress. Who cares what people think? Just build the thing that God tells you to build with whatever resources you have. And as you're faithful with little, he'll increase you with much. So I want you to clear right now, open up your mouth and declare, I choose diligence over desperation. I will reject.
Edna Harding [00:09:05]:
Get quick rich. Sorry. Get rich quick tactics and build with wisdom. If I were you, I would rewind that and take care. I'm take care. Write it down. Write it down. All right, let's go to the second proverb.
Edna Harding [00:09:26]:
Wise Counsel, Proverbs, chapter 15, verse 22, which reminds us that plans fail for lack of not kept counsel. But with many advisors, they succeed. Remember, you are not called to do this alone. So you need to have a healthy advisory board. Okay? A healthy advisory board. What does that look like? Well, number one, you need to have spiritual mentors for prayer, for discernment. Right? You need to ask the Lord who is called to speak into your spiritual life. Just your.
Edna Harding [00:10:00]:
To your atmosphere, right? To your environment. You need industry veterans for insights and pitfalls. These are people that are already doing what you're doing, right? Experts. You need experts. Not average, mediocre, Tombuktu Joe, student learner, experts for taxes, contracts and tax. Those are things you don't want to mess with. Trust me, I've tried to figure it out myself. Not good.
Edna Harding [00:10:27]:
You need experts to look at your taxes, your contracts and text and then customer voices for real world feedback. Okay? Real world feedback. That's what wise counsel looks like. You don't want to guess. You want to get real feedback from the customers you are serving on what to improve, what to make better. Remember my friends, good counsel needs discernment. So you need to what? Seek long term alignment. Biblical fit and proven results.
Edna Harding [00:10:57]:
Okay? Long term alignment. Do you see yourself working with this person for at least three years? Okay. Are they fit with your values biblically and do they have proven results? Right. Have they produced for you results for you or for other people? Right. So let's go ahead and declare this declaration. Say, I will not decide alone. I commit to Seeking and receiving godly counsel that aligns with scripture and purpose. Now, I know we hear the word purpose a lot, but basically God's assignment for you, that's what it means.
Edna Harding [00:11:42]:
All right, so that is what. Number two, it's wise counsel. Number three is integrity. Proverbs 11, 3 says the integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity. So in your industry, don't fall for trend, don't follow, fall for, you know, algorithms. What you need to do is build trust and your brand using integrity. And number one is you market honestly. No false promises.
Edna Harding [00:12:18]:
No false promises. I remember, I think in the beginning I had put double your clients clarity and confidence within like a certain amount of time. I think 12 weeks or whatever. And the Holy Spirit checked me on that. He's like, realistically, can that happen? Yeah, it can. But is it rare? Yes. So market the one that is, that is more realistic. And so I told people fast instead of a specific time frame.
Edna Harding [00:12:48]:
And that can mean different things for different people. But the point is, I'm being honest in my marketing. Right? And the second thing, transparent pricing. Don't have any hidden fees. Please don't do that. Fair treatment, whether it's team clients and vendors, don't show favoritism. I did an episode on that a few weeks ago, Accountability, which is own your mistakes immediately and apologize quickly. Okay, so remember that.
Edna Harding [00:13:16]:
What does integrity do? What does it do when you're transparent about an authentically you. What it does is it builds momentum and it builds loyalty because what you see is what you get. I remember I had a new client, her name is Isabella. And she told me, she reached out to me, I think the other day and she said, hey, I love the fact that you. Because she saw, like I made a mistake in a couple of my videos. I love the fact that you kept it in there and that you didn't like, you know, switch it to make it more professional. I was like, what you see is what you get. And I think, you know, I love that.
Edna Harding [00:13:53]:
I'm okay with not being perfect. I'm okay with having misspelled errors. I'm okay because I'm. I know that with the proof of the pudding, if that makes sense. If the results is what speaks louder than my content. Like, I rather show your results show you, like, hey, it works if you apply the tips I'm giving you versus just sitting there and, you know, overanalyzing or over digesting or over learning everything that I'm teaching. Instead, I want you to take imperfect actions and just get the assignment done. Finish the work you started with.
Edna Harding [00:14:29]:
In the name of Jesus. Right. All right, last declaration for the day. Say, I choose integrity over experience. My word. So no sorry, expedience, not experience. Expedience. Okay, I choose.
Edna Harding [00:14:48]:
Let's start again. I choose integrity over expedience. My word is my bond and my brand flows from character. Awesome. Awesome. So today we laid the first cornerstones of Kingdom business architecture. Okay. Which is what? Diligence, counsel, and integrity.
Edna Harding [00:15:19]:
