What is 2 Bears 2 Beers?

"2 Bears 2 Beers" is a fun and laid-back podcast where two friends, often indulging in a beer or two, chat about anything and everything. From quirky stories to random thoughts, it’s all about enjoying great conversation and sharing laughs in a relaxed, no-pressure vibe. Perfect for anyone looking to unwind and have a good time!

Ice Bear (00:33)
no.

Grizz (00:33)
I

mean, that kind of made something. wasn't like a, it wasn't a good snap.

Ice Bear (00:38)
just like my nail snapped under it. I failed miserably. That was terrible.

Grizz (00:42)
But it was,

no, no, no, but it lasted longer. It kind of made up for my little not greatness.

Ice Bear (00:50)
It had the staying power that yours lacked. But you just had the explosiveness and the wow factor.

Grizz (00:54)
Yeah.

You know what's a wild factor? This. If you ever danced to the devil in the pale moonlight, I dropped it. But you know, you get it.

Ice Bear (01:00)
All right.

You know, I don't know if I have danced with the devil in the pale moonlight, but I have brought in a second drinking vessel just to show off the color of these things for tonight.

Grizz (01:19)
That

is beautiful. Let me pour my...

Ice Bear (01:25)
Yeah

Grizz (01:32)
Here's my color.

Ice Bear (01:33)
I see you two have a tiny little elegant vessel.

Grizz (01:41)
Hey, I like your handle.

Ice Bear (01:44)
This is only for the, this is only for the, I should have done pinky. I didn't. tell me.

Yeah. ⁓ Spoiler. This one's a sour. It is. Fuck. It's really sour. Yeah, no, it is. Well, I guess we should. It's a head. It's funny ask. But before I get into that, ⁓ as of today's recording, it's the first time in many a moon that

Grizz (01:52)
Okay, this looks pretty good. ⁓

It didn't look like a sour damn. It's like a lemon sour like a citrus sour.

Funny you ask.

Ice Bear (02:20)
Grizz's beloved Rangers played. My beloved feisty birds. The game got off to a feisty start with big Tex leading 3-0.

Grizz (02:27)
Damn.

You know what happened? I,

I was busy and I saw 3O and I was like,

Ice Bear (02:41)
thought it was a done deal.

Grizz (02:41)
We good.

We good. You know what? I'm gonna go shower. I'm go do some chores before we get in the booth. I was like, I don't need to watch it because I know we're fucking good. Turns out.

Ice Bear (02:51)
And while

he was doing that, my league leading Jays, they had themselves a bit of a comeback rally monkey in the eighth, put up four, up taking the game 6-5. So what you could say for a Rangers fan like old Grizz that that was a case of Paradise Lost. This is Blood Brothers Paradise Lost Guava Pineapple Sour Epa.

Grizz (03:07)
Damn.

lot of pineapple sour sounds fucking amazing.

Ice Bear (03:24)
It's

a 6.0, so not terribly strong, but let me tell you, the flavor is, it is immensely sour. It feels like warhead level sour.

Grizz (03:34)
Wow.

Ice Bear (03:37)
And now I get to introduce the well reintroduce the actual drinking vessel for the evening.

Grizz (03:45)
Beautiful.

Ice Bear (03:46)
My

powerful horn.

Grizz (03:50)
beautiful unit right there. You know, when I see something that that amazing, that majestic that I'll say like, as a like a roaring, roaring animal energy, I want to go crikey. And this is crikey by Rubens Rubens crikey EPA.

Ice Bear (04:05)
you

you

Rocky

Grizz (04:18)
This is, what we got here? All right. Crikey. This is also a little weak boys. This 53 IBU. it's perfectly been bitter, but not too bitter. It's a 6.8. This is so tasty. It makes our UK born co-founders say crikey. But for us in the PNW, for the people that don't know.

Ice Bear (04:30)
perfectly mid

Grizz (04:47)
That means...

Ice Bear (04:50)
Have you learned it yet?

Grizz (04:51)
pretty nice world. This is just a Pacific Northwest. This is we hope you'll be so pleasantly surprised. You'll say, wow, crikey IPA has a hot profile led by notes of citrus, pine and tropical fruit.

Ice Bear (04:53)
Yeah, sure. Yep, There we go.

Yeah.

So I would love that.

Grizz (05:16)
I honestly, I didn't really think you would. I had this and it's for a basic YPA, the first little little swig I had, I'm like, this fucking punches way above like it's, it's quality, it's super quality. Named after our co-founder's first born child, we brew from the glass backwards, unbounded by constraints because the extra effort is worth it.

Ice Bear (05:18)
Yeah, it's like all the flavors I really like.

⁓ Nice.

Grizz (05:41)
At our family brewery in Seattle, Ruben's Brews offers something for everyone. Ruben's Crack.

Ice Bear (05:48)
Hold on, is the implication

that the firstborn is named Crikey? Or Ruben? Okay, I hope it's Crikey.

Grizz (05:54)
Is it crikey or Ruben? I hope it's crikey because because crikey is powerful.

Because crikey is powerful. Ruben is like, bro, what are you a fucking sandwich? Get out of

Ice Bear (06:02)
Can you imagine going into a job

interview? They're like, Hey, pleasure to meet you. then like, I'm Crikey Johnson. Like, it's just such a good name.

Grizz (06:11)
It's a power move, really.

Ice Bear (06:13)
Great name for a golfer. Crikey up at T.

Grizz (06:16)
Yeah, and even at that

Just even that like dimensional meeting a little boy named his nickname is Crikes

Ice Bear (06:27)
I know I don't want to meet any little boys. Stop.

Grizz (06:29)
I like that.

Yeah, you know, not not in like in the night. I'm just talking about like in the day, like, you know, like it's in the wild.

Ice Bear (06:41)
Just a buddy from high school is like, this is my kid, Crocky.

Grizz (06:46)
Yeah, we call him Krikes. And he's got the skateboard. And he's got the skateboard. That's a cool-ass fucking kid. It's like the kid. Do you remember why this kid you know when he has the gun and the sunglasses? And he's like, you look like the devil. You're so cool right now. That's Krikes. If I met a kid named Krikes, that's what I would tell him.

Ice Bear (06:47)
We call them crikes.

Okay, so it's funny because the description said UK, correct?

Grizz (07:15)
Yeah, so I guess one of the...

Ice Bear (07:16)
Because

when I hear crikey, I go Australia in my brain. Do you think Britain? are you?

Grizz (07:23)
Oh, for

sure. No, thought Crikey was just Australia. So that means that this beer is so good, it made a Brit turn Australian. That's pretty crazy. I mean, it's not that crazy because like, I mean, look at their flags and you know, like a whole like prisons, Prison Island, know, you know, it's close enough, but it's so crazy enough.

Ice Bear (07:26)
Yeah, so did I, but apparently it-

Hmm, interesting. That is pretty wild. They are kind of... Yeah, they are. They are. Yeah. ⁓

I've made you watch the Sigi Buttbrain thing before, correct? Okay, good. Anyone that hasn't seen Sigi Buttbrain, if you don't immediately know what we're talking about, go look up Sigi Buttbrain. You'll thank me later.

Yeah, you probably won't. You'll probably be very mad and you'll question watching this, like most of my recommendations. Or you singy butt brine.

Grizz (08:19)
My butt brain are pumped.

Ice Bear (08:23)
for what, like what I enjoy more or what I think weirds out people more?

Grizz (08:27)
Ooh, both. Let's go both.

Ice Bear (08:32)
Okay, so the easier question answers, a pomf is way better for me. One, because it's actually kind of catchy. ⁓

Grizz (08:37)
Yeah, POP's great. Super gadget. It's salty

coins and milk.

Ice Bear (08:45)
too because it has the Just there's a creepiness factor that for people that don't know anime it's magnified by infinity

Grizz (08:59)
Doesn't that make it kind of like hard? like being in, you know, all like the anime circles from all like way back when before was mainstream. There's always like some type of, you know, like there's a thing to it, but doesn't it make it hard when like you have to be like, Hey, there's a certain level of degeneracy here. That's like, it's going to make you uncomfortable, but it's

It's just part of the culture and it's like it's kind of devious. It's kind of fucked up. like, you know, you know what I mean? Like it's a hard sell. Like, like, how do you how do you sell something like in the fandom? It's all shunned, but it's still there. We got Shudder and fucking ⁓ like ShudderCon and fucking Lollicon. And we're like, you know what? We're

Ice Bear (09:29)
That is true.

It is a really hard sell.

Yeah.

Yeah.

both. It's it's that's true. That's true.

Grizz (09:53)
Everybody hates it though overall overall

But it's still dope as fuck like you know to be like it's

Ice Bear (10:00)
you

And there's scenes that I feel like everyone knows. ⁓ Like the toothbrush scene, for instance. I think most people immediately know what that is. But if you were showing that to someone that is like, the kind of person that would call anime, like, isn't that just one of those Japanese cartoons? Or probably they would say Chinese cartoons.

Grizz (10:17)
yeah.

Ice Bear (10:30)
Like if you're trying to introduce someone like that to it is the most unhinged. You're like, wait, that's her brother. And wait, what?

Grizz (10:30)
Sure, yeah.

That's fair. I mean, even like...

still is one of the greatest enemy of all time. But it's true, it has it in there. And that's, that's a little weird.

Ice Bear (10:48)
You

It's a lot weird, that's my point was because that is a well regarded anime. There's weird shit and a lot of stuff. And then there's also the whole. All right. We're going to do an art style that is objectively problematic, but

Grizz (11:01)
Yeah.

Ice Bear (11:12)
it's okay because it's a 3000 year old vampire or like it's okay because it's an alien that's actually 75 or it's okay because it's a robot like it's

Grizz (11:24)
Okay, so the vampire one.

She also turns into a whole ass like adult thing. It's just, it's just when it's small. It's when you're like.

Ice Bear (11:35)
I'm just saying.

Grizz (11:37)
Yeah,

it's true. It's definitely true.

Ice Bear (11:43)
The so circling back to the original question, the Sigi butt brain thing is very amusing for me to introduce people to because the art is so unsettling because it reminds me of a weird low rent Beavis and butthead.

Grizz (12:00)
That's fair. That's really fair,

Ice Bear (12:03)
And so there's something to my eye that's immediately unsettling. And for that reason, I enjoy bringing people into the fold on that.

Grizz (12:15)
So middle of the road of that that was also unsettling and weird art style.

Not necessarily weird, but I guess like low budget or so. Do you remember like salad fingers?

Ice Bear (12:27)
⁓ my god. Rusty spoons. so bad.

Grizz (12:32)
Yeah, just, just.

And then the whole like when he meets the little dude that wasn't nettle.

Ice Bear (12:42)
I don't, I don't, that is one that I have actively tried to block out because salad fingers made me immensely uncomfortable.

Grizz (12:48)
That's one where it's extremely uncomfortable. You remember the time the bears collided and we saw a salad fingers cosplay?

Ice Bear (12:55)
That was.

Yeah. Who, who knew, who, who knew someone was going to put the time into that?

Grizz (13:10)
And that's the crazy thing, because that's what like 10 years after it came out.

Ice Bear (13:13)
It's kind of like how every now and again, it's been a long time since I've been to a con, but I assume if you went to one, there's probably still one or two people doing Homestuck. It's like, there's just always someone that like, it's just their thing. That's just their, their, their cosplay and they're sticking with it from, from now to infinity.

Grizz (13:26)
That's fair, okay.

That's fair.

I kinda wanna go to a- I've been talking to Tiger about this. I kinda wanna go to a con and cosplay sister Hong.

Ice Bear (13:46)
⁓ fuck, that would be real good.

Grizz (13:48)
Like

I want to be sister Hong and she can be one of the guys.

Ice Bear (13:52)
it okay I support that I want you to do that but hear me out I think I mean this lovingly it's just because of the size difference I think you guys should do ⁓ ore mono guitar because you can be the giant guy all you got to do is shave what do you look like under there I don't remember it's been a long time

Grizz (14:02)
Ha ha ha ha!

Dude.

I've been...

I don't know. It's been a really long time. My beard's shorter now.

Ice Bear (14:21)
And you did get healed.

Grizz (14:21)
But like, no, yeah. That's the thing, though, is I don't know. But we've also talked about that too, because dude, I fucking love that guy. Look, dude is.

Ice Bear (14:31)
It's one of the best rom-coms and

everything about that. He's one of the best main characters. She's a great like ride or die because like the whole episode nine, 10, the cake shop guy, we're like, wait a second, you whore. And then she's like, no, fuck you, cake shop guy. And you're like, yeah, that's my... All is right with the world.

Grizz (14:38)
Over 1000 %

Yeah, yeah that that

that but just even though it's like like the it's a meme now but like the subtle things of that make her just kind of dorky and kind of funny like when she's like Bowser runs away and falls and just keeps going you don't feel like it's funny or dude this scene even when it pops up like in just like a little like mean things or

Ice Bear (15:00)
you

Grizz (15:15)
like Instagram, anime profile stories where it's him when they all make fun of him and shit and like kind of talk shit about him like when they're on karaoke and the fire goes in and he runs in to save people and like he's like saving people and then the fucking thing falls on them and he's like, oh, this is it, I'm dead. And his best friend calls and she's like, bro, she's about to run into this fire. If you don't get out now, get your ass out here. And he's like, bet. And he just runs, you know what I mean? And so like.

Ice Bear (15:26)
Mm hmm.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha

Grizz (15:45)
Everything about that is so fucking I I will see that scene Even in like a short clip of like a thing and I'll fucking get teary-eyed. I'm like ⁓

Ice Bear (15:57)
I also forgot about the his blonde best friend with the teaching him how to smooch with the little saran wrap.

Grizz (16:03)
The hug guy.

It's just... Dude, it's so funny.

Ice Bear (16:12)
One for the homies.

Grizz (16:16)
It's so funny. That series is fucking phenomenal.

Ice Bear (16:21)
Did you ever get around to watching a sign of affection?

Grizz (16:25)
Ooh, actually, I want to say yes.

Ice Bear (16:28)
the girl is ⁓ deaf and so like there's a lot of sign language going on. That's the closest one recently I've seen to it.

Grizz (16:31)
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Yeah.

Ice Bear (16:39)
There's

actually two like right now that are really good rom-coms like this season.

Grizz (16:46)
That's fair. ⁓ Like I, I've been very behind, especially with all the moving and shit like that. Like I just, I just finished the first down the ground.

Ice Bear (16:53)
of course. Yeah, you've had no time for...

How'd you like it?

Grizz (17:00)
I thought it was great. I'm actually really excited for the next part. Yeah.

Ice Bear (17:03)
Yeah. Second season

is just as good. Second season is.

Grizz (17:06)
Ooh. Ooh.

Ice Bear (17:11)
maybe ⁓ the slightest of steps down, but it's still excellent.

But the thing is, I've read ahead and this is just like, this is a kind of dull arc in comparison, but it gets great again.

Grizz (17:24)
Bill's up.

So how do you feel about like, ⁓ cause going with like, let's see, trying to think, ⁓ one, we were very, very excited when we talked about early on and then we kind of fell off on it. I'm assuming you've watched it or kind of continued by having, second part of solo leveling.

Ice Bear (17:50)
Yeah, still love it.

Grizz (17:52)
Yeah, just to give this first.

Ice Bear (17:55)
I would say so. But so the thing for me with that is because I finished it, like I read the whole manwha or whatever it's called. ⁓ They're staying pretty faithful to it. So I'm just I'm but part of the reason I really liked it was I was surprised. So now all the surprises are gone and it's I'm one of those people I can't read something twice and it's very hard for me to rewatch something if it's if it's too soon.

Grizz (18:09)
awesome.

Interesting.

Ice Bear (18:24)
Like give me five years and I'll want to rewatch all of it. But right now, like the whole series is fresh in my head still. So I'm just like, as it's coming out, I'm like, I really wanted to see Tank, my polar bear boy. But other than that, I'm like.

Grizz (18:35)
Yeah Yeah,

that's fair that's interesting because like I i'm similar to in like some like like books and media like that but When it comes to like manga and anime i'm very much like I read the manga and i'm like fuck. Yeah, can't wait to see this animated You know what I mean? Because it's like I love this part so much in the manga. I can't wait to see it animated You know what I mean?

Ice Bear (18:56)
Mmm.

Okay, I'm trying to explain my feelings on this. Do you ever finish a story and you're just kind of like sad it ended?

So I think that's where ultimately I was left because the build up was so great that by the time you get to the peak and the resolution, it's just a bit of a letdown. I'm still bummed out it's over. I think that's the other big part of it, where I'm still bummed out it's over because the end is the end. Like there's no way they're changing it or doing it. It's a good, they wrapped it. It's wrapped.

Grizz (19:33)
Doing good, continue right here.

Ice Bear (19:45)
Mm-hmm.

Mm-hmm.

Grizz (20:03)
I'm purposely a seasoned behind on One Piece

Like actually, I two seasons behind now because like Otis talked about like there's the conclusion is like blooming. And the thing is like One Piece has been going on since I was in middle school. You know what I mean? And it's like, don't, I'm not ready for that at all. You think this thing's been going on for like,

Ice Bear (20:15)
Mm. Yeah.

Yeah.

Not quite ready. Sure, that's fair.

Grizz (20:35)
A whole adult's life, like over like 20, 25 years.

Ice Bear (20:40)
Yeah, any of the any of the ones where you've got like hundreds of chapters or hundreds of episodes, especially if you've invested whatever that amount of time is. Yeah. What is one piece at 1700 1300 it's it's well over a thousand, isn't it?

Grizz (20:52)
Like a thousand of this point basically

Yeah,

like it's it. Let's see. Let's ask Gemini. Let's see.

Ice Bear (21:08)
Cause I'm trying to think the longest thing I ever watched.

Grizz (21:10)
So asked, how many One Piece episodes

are there right now?

Ice Bear (21:17)
would have been Naruto. my God.

Grizz (21:18)
There are currently 1,139 episodes of the anime One Piece.

Ice Bear (21:26)
That came out crystal clear, by the way.

Grizz (21:28)
And how much chapters of manga are in One Piece currently at right now? The One Piece manga is still ongoing and it's quite a bit ahead of the anime. As of right now, there are over 1100 chapters. Do you want to know the exact number or are you curious about something else related to the manga?

Ice Bear (21:31)
you

I want to know the exact number.

Grizz (21:53)
I want to know the exact number.

Alright, so as of right now, the One Piece manga has over 1100 chapters. Do you want the exact number? I want the exact number. Give me the exact number. The One Piece manga is currently at chapter 1122. Do you want to know what the latest chapter is about? What's the latest episode number at?

Ice Bear (22:01)
you

Grizz (22:21)
Currently, the One Piece anime has 1,139 episodes. Are you interested in knowing what the latest episode is about? How much filler episodes are there for the One Piece anime?

Ice Bear (22:26)
God bless, filler.

455.

Grizz (22:35)
One Piece has over 100 filler episodes. That's actually a pretty small percentage compared to other long-running anime. Would you like to know which arcs have filler episodes?

Ice Bear (22:38)
Damn.

Grizz (22:46)
How much filler episodes are in Naruto?

Ice Bear (22:49)
200.

Grizz (22:51)
Naruto has a lot more filler than One Piece, with over 200 episodes that aren't part of the main storyline. Are you curious about which arcs in Naruto have the most filler? How much filler are there in Boruto?

Ice Bear (23:03)
God.

Grizz (23:04)
Boruto has a ton of filler episodes over 200. That's a much higher percentage than Naruto or one piece Well, how do you want to know if there are any specific arc? How much border to episodes are there though?

Ice Bear (23:07)
Yeah.

900.

Grizz (23:17)
Boruto has 293 episodes. Are you interested in knowing more about the Boruto series? So wait to purchase so to 200 of the 290 episodes of bar to our filler

Ice Bear (23:19)
Wow, that was way off.

Wait, it's all filler.

Grizz (23:33)
It's tricky to give an exact number for Boruto filler, as fans debate what counts. Some sources say over 200 episodes are filler, while others say it's closer to 150. Do you want to know about some of the most popular filler arcs? Is it safe to say that over two thirds of the bar to anime is filler?

It's hard to give a definite yes or no on that. Here's why. Hang on. Sorry. Let me try that again. It's hard to give a definite yes or no on that. Here's why. Filler can be subjective. What one fan considers filler, another might see as world building or character development. Anime canon. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,

Okay, if we're being very strict about what counts as filler, then yes, it's fair to say that over two thirds of Boruto is filler. Are you curious about which arcs are considered the worst offenders? No. It's wild.

Ice Bear (24:33)
Amazing. Wow.

Well, that's what happens when you have to shit out seven episodes a day.

Grizz (24:42)
think this wild is it like so you think of like Naruto so okay everything Naruto Naruto Dragon Ball Naruto Shippuden is what Dragon Ball Z

Ice Bear (24:54)
Yeah. Yeah.

Grizz (24:58)
Yeah, okay, that's fair then I guess, right? Like, could you think about it like, cause like Dragon Ball was solid. Dragon Ball Z is solid overall. After Dragon Ball Z is what? GT is fucking horrible.

Ice Bear (25:13)
I'm not the one to, that is the one popular thing that I never got into Dragon Ball. I'm aware of it casually.

Grizz (25:15)
Yeah.

I loved I loved Dragon

Ball Z as a kid. I fucking lived for that shit. I Try to rewatch it as like After I really was in Tana May and like this shit's fucking trash. I granted granted there are still parts where I see it and I'm like You know what I mean? Like I still see in this person like fuck man. That's good But overall fucking horrible

Ice Bear (25:46)
Yeah, that's that's where I'm at with most most shonen.

Grizz (25:53)
but I give it its respect in the sense of that it's like you know it's at the standard for you know the ones its predecessors not predecessors but its successors but yeah but like it's yeah but there's there's parts in there man that like you see it and you're like damn that's a man right there you know what I mean like but yeah

Ice Bear (26:02)
Sure. Yeah.

Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.

Yep.

Grizz (26:19)
But Naruto Tabata is

wild, because I'm not a huge Naruto fan, to be like, all right, be one of consider one of like the top three, top four to your next one and two thirds of it's just filler. That's It's insane.

Ice Bear (26:33)
That is, yeah, it's crazy.

that that corporate money they need they need those episodes they need those ad doubloons

Speaking of doubloons, this was worth all four of them. This is a B minus.

Grizz (26:58)
Actually, one question I was gonna ask, but we got we got deep into the side stuff.

Ice Bear (27:03)
filler episode.

Grizz (27:05)
not filler up as a button. So I'm really partial to that can. I like that a lot, but specifically because of old literature. Did you read Paradise Lost?

Ice Bear (27:12)
Mm-hmm.

I'm be honest with you. It's gonna be a negative.

Grizz (27:25)
Okay, so Paradise Lost. All right, so old Grizzly little metal goth kid, Paradise Lost is by John Milton and it's basically like Lucifer's descent from heaven into like hell when he got banished. So Paradise Lost is about that. Dope as fuck.

Ice Bear (27:31)
Mm-hmm.

Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.

Top tier, must read. All right. Yeah, I should. It's probably public domain too, huh?

Grizz (27:46)
yeah, yeah, I would when it comes to like literature.

yeah, at this point, yeah 1000%. ⁓ I bet you could just go to YouTube and put like Paradise Lost audio book and instead

Fantastic fucking book. ⁓ In metal lore, like, it's everywhere. Bands like Cradle of Health or even the band Paradise Lost is, you know, it's good. But John Milton, they did Paradise Lost and Paradise Regained. Fantastic fucking books. ⁓ Again, he's an English author. Fantastic stuff. It's worth a read.

Ice Bear (28:30)
Yep. It's on, it's on Gutenberg. So I'll give that a shot. Look at that bottle. How many, how many ounces is in that bad boy? It looks huge.

Grizz (28:44)
Ooh, I think we got a bear, a bear field trip when you come over here. It says, visit our Seattle tasting rooms, brewed in can by Ruben's Brews, Seattle, Washington. This is a, how much fluid ounces? It's a pint, six fluid ounces.

Ice Bear (28:56)
You have to.

Now, hold on, can you hold up the bottle again? Is that supposed to be like a stylized R or is that? What?

Grizz (29:15)
I think it

is, yeah, I think it's a lowercase r.

Ice Bear (29:18)
Okay, I wasn't 100 % sure what was happening there.

Grizz (29:21)
Because it's

the kid Ruben, the kid's name Ruben. So lowercase, it's like a small boy. So it's not crikey, it's crikey.

Ice Bear (29:27)
Sure. Okay.

Crocky.

Grizz (29:33)
Bye, baby.

Ice Bear (29:34)
Crikey, Papa.

Crikey.

What's happening?

Grizz (29:41)
What's happening? Oh shoot, a tiger. The tiger jumped in. I'll order the tiger right now. She's too sucked into stuff. doesn't know what's happening.

Ice Bear (29:50)
scolded for too many crikeys

Grizz (29:53)
That's true. ⁓ shit.

Ice Bear (29:56)
Did you finish that over there?

Grizz (30:00)
I just chugged the rest of it. I think, think, I

think crikey.

It's good. Now, here's the problem with the thing. We've had so much where I'm like, it's really good and I like it a lot. But when I compared to other things, like, can't, I can't put it over some stuff. You know what I mean? I think this crikey is.

Ice Bear (30:07)
No. ⁓

comparatively.

Yeah.

Grizz (30:31)
If I'm being stringy or cranky, it's a B, but I would be confident in a B+.

Ice Bear (30:35)
Okay. Yeah, it's, would be really hard to do if you had some sort of King of the Hill type of situation, and it was beer versus beer, like what knocks off what. There's a lot that are very good. I would be happy to have them that aren't in the top hundred anymore. Because we're just more dialed in with the choices at this point.

Grizz (30:51)
Yeah.

Yeah, because

this one here, it's one where I am, when I go back, I'm going to grab a couple more bottles just so I know make sure I have them when you come. Because I want you to drink this because it's great. But I'm like, when I compare it to like,

Ice Bear (31:18)
Crikey.

Grizz (31:23)
The other ones that I'm like S tier A plus, I'm like, okay, it's definitely not there.

Ice Bear (31:27)
I just want my

Johnny Appleseed.

Grizz (31:31)
can of that. Have a can of that and thunder crunch. Waiting for you.

Ice Bear (31:31)
I know I'm very...

I am thundercrunch.

Yeah, I'm very excited for that.

Grizz (31:39)
So

I actually have, and we'll do like maybe like a gorilla episode or whatever, but I actually have a couple of Martin house offerings that are going to be meeting you to me and you, but I only have a can. So we're going to split them. So we're just going to do a bonus, a bonus 0.5 episode of just splitting them and just like a Harfin and whatever. But I am purposely not, I'm purposely not drinking them or opening them.

Ice Bear (31:51)

I like it. Bare flights.

Grizz (32:07)
because I haven't had them yet, but I've had the series. But it's one of those where CSM, we have a good amount of Martin has offerings for old Osbert when it comes to.

Ice Bear (32:11)
Very nice. Very nice indeed.

thrilled. I'm thrilled to pieces. You know what else I'm thrilled to pieces about?

Grizz (32:23)
What?

second beer that I'm about to open for mine.

Ice Bear (32:34)
yes. ⁓ what is? ⁓ I forgot you have the cool thing.

Grizz (32:38)
yeah, so this right here actually, this is a, right here, this is a my mom wallet. It's a super cool wallet that has my initials in it.

Ice Bear (32:47)
That

is an incredibly cool wallet.

Grizz (32:50)
See,

the thing is, it's brass.

Ice Bear (32:55)
Yeah, yeah.

Grizz (32:57)
plate has a bottle opener and then leather. This leather was nice brown because of the patina of my oily ass hands. It's a dark brown now. It's great. I love it. The tiger bought it to me and I cried when I got it because I've I've been wanting this for years. So this right here is the tears of an old grizzly bear.

Ice Bear (33:08)
Yeah... Hell yeah...

I'm I'm bet you did.

I'm actually quite excited to have something... not sour. This is like... well, brain-frying dank. The dankiest. Alright. This is... Well, do I have a segue? No, not really.

Grizz (33:43)
⁓ damn.

Ice Bear (33:55)
This is a super tropical cryo-epa. Low bitterness and big flavor, light gold in color with notes of peach, mango and stone fruit. is summer frost cryo-epa.

Grizz (34:05)
Ooh.

Ice Bear (34:12)
from Couchaching? Couchaching? Couchyching? Couchy? Couchyching? I don't know. I don't know how to say that.

Grizz (34:13)
Okay, here's the thing.

Interesting.

Here's one of the things I don't think I like a lot of you, but I don't know if I really like grasp the cryo EPA and you know what I mean?

Ice Bear (34:30)
I don't understand what makes it different from like.

Grizz (34:34)
the regular hop, yeah.

Ice Bear (34:35)
Yeah.

Grizz (34:41)
You know, the craziest thing about that, more crazier than not knowing what a cryo-eap or a regular-eap is, is the fact that you didn't have a segue. And for me, that was a lot. So for me, that was kind of a rude awakening, to be honest. And like, I feel like, yeah, I don't know. I don't know how I feel about that.

Ice Bear (35:02)
Sorry, I

the ball.

Grizz (35:05)
This is from old school house brewing. is rude awakening. This is big. Bold and balanced. This is rude awakening. EPA. It's an 8 % 22 fluid ounces. Methyl made. I don't know what the fuck that means.

Ice Bear (35:26)
So what is rude spelled that way? Does that mean something? Is that someone's name? Is that a place?

Grizz (35:31)
I don't know. R U U D. feel like that's a good Jim Carrey thing. You know what mean?

Ice Bear (35:34)
Yeah, I need to understand that.

that that

does feel like a dumb and dumber thing.

Grizz (35:43)
OSB I don't know what the fuck that is either. I'm not getting I'm not getting a lot of information on here to be honest. Please keep cold and recycle. Government warnings, old school, old school house brewery. I'm assuming that's in Seattle, or at least Washington. I don't know. I'm kind of just guessing, to be honest. There's not much information on here.

Ice Bear (36:10)
There's a

horse called Rude Awakening, spelled exactly that way. I wonder if this horse is from Washington.

I need to know more about this because I am baffled.

Grizz (36:26)
Old school house. Yeah, Winthrop. Winthrop, Washington.

Ice Bear (36:32)
Well, that sounds good.

Grizz (36:41)
It closes soon at 9pm. Frasier time.

Ice Bear (36:46)
We get.

Grizz (36:50)
I love

Frazier to be honest, like I genuinely love Frazier.

Ice Bear (36:54)
I think I remember telling you when I, I didn't watch it until maybe a year or two ago. I had never seen it when it was on TV. And so it was just one of those things that came out as like a, look what we have now on prime kind of thing. And so it just became the thing that we would watch when there was nothing else on. That's great. It's fantastic.

Grizz (37:02)
I love Treasure.

I'll absolutely, yeah, I absolutely love

Frazier. Like Frazier and Niles, the Thanksgiving episode when Frazier was trying to do a Thanksgiving turkey, phenomenal. Or like when they get into the bidding war, when they're trying to buy that old ass nice bottle of wine and they get into this crazy, dude, Frazier is fucking top tier. I absolutely have my.

Ice Bear (37:37)
There are a lot of episodes

with just bits that float around in my head. Both of the ones you mentioned are fantastic. I really like the one where they go to the cabin and everyone's trying to bang, but they all keep getting interrupted and it's just this revolving in and out door bullshit thing. Just everyone's cock-locking everyone.

Grizz (37:49)
You

Frasier is so fucking great. Oh my God. So good. Cause I remember watching it like, so like not having cable Frasier would come on like a box or whatever the fuck thing with it late at night. So every time I'd be like, Simpsons mom is bullshit. But my dad will like Frasier and he would watch Frasier. And so I would like sit there and watch it with them. And he kind of like explained the jokes that I didn't get when I was little.

Ice Bear (38:10)
Mm-hmm.

Uh-huh.

Mm-hmm.

Grizz (38:23)
And then so it became a thing of me watching Frasier over my dad. And that became like, this is cool, right? And then so we'd go on through here and there. But like.

Razor absolutely top tier. dang, we taking the caps off? We taking heads off here?

Ice Bear (38:41)
I'm taking, I'm

just, I'm hot. It's a wet, sticky summer night.

That's better. That's yes. Yes. We're going full full bird's nest. I'm a bird's nest boy. Oh, you're you're a rock star boy. I'm a bird's nest boy. What are we talking about? Frazier. How's it?

Grizz (39:01)
⁓ man.

That's all, that's all.

way more bitter than I expected to be honest it's kind of a rude awakening am I gonna lie compared to the last one I'm shocked ⁓

Ice Bear (39:32)
How shocked we talking.

happening.

Grizz (39:39)
So I'm looking at the light of like outside my window because I'm like in right in the middle of cap hill. Regular light. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, nine cars deep at a regular stoplight. It's crazy going downhill.

Ice Bear (39:42)
Mm-hmm.

Yep. Yep.

You're just not used to that much traffic at a stoplight.

Grizz (40:03)
Yeah, what was that one lane in the drizzly one lane going downhill? It's wild because also like I I guess it's it's very like See seven cars went and now three cars stopped so it's 10 now more car mara coming It's it's definitely great. Especially when you're like in a metropolitan area and this and that the way they like don't don't Stop in during in the box. You know what I mean?

Ice Bear (40:06)
Hmm.

Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.

Grizz (40:33)
So like letting traffic through don't go like it's very it's very considerate. So I'll give it that. But as well, they're like, I guess a green light went through out of 10 car six one four stuck. Like back home and good old freedom land. We're going to be flying through. You know what mean? We'll get get we'll get 15 cars through that shit.

Ice Bear (40:37)
Mm-hmm.

Mm-hmm.

Grizz (40:58)
So it's crazy, like the difference, but also we can get these crazy hills.

Ice Bear (41:03)
Yeah, and also just rain and in the winter ice. It's, it's people are just used to avoiding. You don't want to have that many rear ends on your insurance.

Grizz (41:07)
Yeah.

It was just fair.

Ice Bear (41:17)
Yeah.

Grizz (41:17)
These hills are no joke.

Ice Bear (41:19)
Yeah.

The other thing is you'll notice some of the older parts of town. I mean, this could have been corrected because it's been 10 years since I've been there. when I was there, there were certain parts of town where the weight sensor for the light was broken.

Grizz (41:38)

Ice Bear (41:39)
So you would just be trapped at a red light forever. like if someone was in a Prius or a Yaris or a lighter car, it's just like, wouldn't trigger the things. It's just a perma red light until someone heavier gets there.

Grizz (41:51)
And the thing is that like the camera flash things are still here. Cause that stopped being a thing in Texas like eight, nine years ago. It was, it was deemed unconstitutional. So they stopped it I'm like, fuck yeah. So for me, middle of the night, red light, ain't nobody around me. That's barely a stop sign. You know I mean? So like.

Ice Bear (42:13)
stop sign.

It's a suggestion.

Grizz (42:20)
But here I'm like, fuck this camera. like, I gotta stop. Luckily, I'm doing my best not to drive my vehicle, which has been working out, right? Like, I think since I've been here, I've driven my vehicle two times. No, three times. One for work, two for not work.

Ice Bear (42:28)
Mm-hmm. Good call.

so you can do a lot of walking though.

Grizz (42:44)
Yeah, so but the issue is I'm walking up uphill. So I walk downhill to work. Easy peasy. No problem. But after

Ice Bear (42:53)
You're telling the story

all wrong. You walk uphill to work. You walk uphill home. It's in the snow both ways. Your shoes don't have soles at all. It's just feet on the ground.

Grizz (42:59)
There you go. I don't know. I was talking to my grandkids, but yeah, they go.

Yeah. Well, this is being deleted by the time I have grandkids. then at this point, that's when I'm uphill both ways. but yeah. So like when I walk after I'm working like 10, 12, 10, 11, 12 hours, I'm kind of tired and I got to walk uphill. I'm like, fuck in my life.

Ice Bear (43:15)
you

Yeah.

Yeah.

Grizz (43:28)
Everything's terrible.

I hate all this. This is the worst.

Ice Bear (43:35)
Yeah, that's rough. That's rough for sure.

Grizz (43:38)
but

it is kind of nice like that putting more miles into my car.

Ice Bear (43:43)
Yeah. And also you're probably going to find your knees are happier.

Grizz (43:48)
Probably. We'll see as I start squatting heavier.

Is this for squatting more?

Ice Bear (43:57)
you should start tracking ⁓ let's see if there's any ⁓ weight loss i bet there would be

Grizz (44:06)
there has to be right because like the good thing is it's not gonna always be this way because like eventually I'm gonna move because I'm in housing so I'm in cap hill cap hills above the hills right like you know what mean like it's the hip to the drive area my works in like SLU right not hip to the drive but it's like tech bro city right that's where we're kind of we're in

Ice Bear (44:14)
Yeah.

you

you

Grizz (44:35)
My gym is perfectly in the middle. just signed up for, I just think that I just signed up for a year.

Ice Bear (44:42)
You wild man. Was it it LeFatness?

Grizz (44:46)
It was worth it, but the thing is now.

Ice Bear (44:48)
Was that the one?

Grizz (44:52)
No, it's not. It's it's it's cousin. Yeah.

Ice Bear (44:55)
Is it 24?

Good call. There's nothing wrong with it.

Grizz (45:01)
Because it comes out so like after paying for the year, like 22 a month. When you break down the yearly cost, it's 22 a month.

Ice Bear (45:10)
I just I just realized I'm pretty sure those are global right it's not just America

Grizz (45:18)
I so.

Ice Bear (45:19)
That's our gym too. So you can go to our gym and I can go to your gym.

Grizz (45:21)
Ooh.

Oh, here. Oh, yeah, they go. And here's the thing too. But if even if it wouldn't, because of my like thing that I paid for for the year, I can add bonus like a second person $10 a month. So like when you do come here, even if you weren't covered, it's just $10 and then you're as long as we're together. It's as the entire month.

Ice Bear (45:42)
Well that's not bad at all.

just do it for the month. And why would I

ever work out on my own if I'm there? That'd be weird.

Grizz (45:55)
Exactly.

you know what I mean? So like, regardless, it's going to be $10 and recovered the entire time.

Ice Bear (46:02)
I've paid way more than that for a day pass. that's, yeah, that's really good.

Grizz (46:04)
or 1000 %?

Remember the time when we were in KamiLand together? How much money we spent on day passes?

Ice Bear (46:10)
Mm-hmm.

Wasn't

that 20 bucks to that place a day? That was fucking stupid.

Grizz (46:16)
Yeah, $40

each time we went there how many times? At least what, four or five? Yeah, we were there. Like, you know, we collectively spent what, 200, like $250, $260? Like, it was not great. Not adding the Uber rides.

Ice Bear (46:22)
Yeah, I'm not good. Yeah, it was every day.

as not

Yeah.

It's not good.

I forgot about that.

Grizz (46:45)
We spent a lot of money.

And that's because we try to go to like the the Lafayette and they were like nah and we're like you gonna do day passes?

Ice Bear (46:59)
Those... Bastards. So rude.

Grizz (47:05)
It really was. It really like walking distance too.

Ice Bear (47:08)
Yeah, I'm trying to remember Tokyo was weird too. Cause certain like, I don't know what you call them, not pre fixture. That's the wrong word, but like certain neighborhoods have public gyms and those are, you just sign a waiver and they'll let you in for like five bucks and they're very reasonable. But some of the ones that don't have that, those were like 30. Yeah.

Grizz (47:34)
A day?

What the fuck?

Ice Bear (47:36)
Well,

they really don't want foreigners. ⁓ It's a gatekeeping thing. So they're like, all right, if you're willing to pay this, we'll let you in. And they were the equivalent of like a Marriott. They have a couple of those Nautilus machines in one bench.

Grizz (47:39)
that's fair.

That's fair actually, I mean...

What the fuck?

one bench and like 35 kilograms collectively did me hurt you

Ice Bear (48:04)
Did

I tell you or did we mention the one in like downtown Tokyo, like the one near the Olympic Stadium? So that one was the biggest one and it had by far the most facilities. And so there's a part of it that's nothing but free weights. And I would say it's on par with like an American gym in terms of amount of equipment. But like, let's say you want a bench.

Grizz (48:19)
Maybe.

Ice Bear (48:34)
you have to go to the bench. There is a guy there that is the bench attendant. And there's like a sign up sheet. And so you're like, sign me up. And then you're like fourth in line for this bench. And like when you get on it, you have seven minutes. Yeah, it was wild. So it's in it was like strictly monitored. So you're like, kind of like looking for free stuff where there's no wait.

Grizz (48:54)
The fuck?

Ice Bear (49:02)
So if you go with a workout in mind that you want to do, you're fucked. It's just not happening. Like you've got to do what the public is allowing you to do.

Grizz (49:05)
Yeah.

That is insane.

Because seven minutes, that's what. OK, so think strength. Seven minutes warm up. That's two sets topped.

Ice Bear (49:22)
It was rough because normally what I do is, let's say it's like a chest day. So I'm benching and I will do two warm up sets. Maybe, maybe a third at like 10 % less than whatever my working weight is going to be just like two or three. And then I'll get into my working sets. And that's typically three or four, depending on what program block I'm on.

So that could be 30 minutes, when I'm at my working sets, I'm resting probably two minutes between. So yeah, it was not good.

I remember being like, all right, I'm just going to do 135. I'm going to gas out. I'm going to amrap three times.

Grizz (50:14)
I mean, that's better than nothing, to be honest. If you're on vacation, that's probably the move, realistically speaking. You know what I mean?

Ice Bear (50:24)
Cause the other thing was

I remember like I was walking probably like 15 miles a day. It was a lot of walking too, which is fun. It was really fun. was the best way to do it in my opinion. Cause I got to see every bit of the city that I wanted to, but I was like, I'd look at my watch and be like, fuck it's lunchtime and I'm at seven miles. That's pretty wild. ⁓

Grizz (50:49)
How much steps is seven miles?

Ice Bear (50:51)
Probably like 15,000.

Grizz (50:56)
I don't got that much over here. be fair, to be fair, I did drive to work today and after because I was expecting picking up some big boxes from Amazon, but they didn't get there in time. So today I only worked I only walked 10 10.1 thousand miles.

Ice Bear (51:00)
Hold on, bear with me. To be fair...

You walk 10,000 miles. There we go. Yeah, so like, so yesterday because it's officially Saturday here. It was it was my my my day off and I had. Oh, wow, that doesn't register at all. So yeah, like a little over 12,000 step east and it says it's 5.5 miles. So yeah, I think I think 15,000 would be

Grizz (51:25)
Err no, ⁓ step, sorry. I'm drunk. Yeah.

that's true.

Ice Bear (51:52)
But where's my... Where's my week?

Grizz (51:56)
That's crazy because like, I mean, it's not crazy because I see kids again. You're in the farmland right now I'm in the city because for me.

Ice Bear (52:05)
That's like the week is my average.

Grizz (52:10)
Cause for me, when I work, I'm like at 15 typically. Well, between 15 and 16.

my day off, I'm like.

8 to 9.

Ice Bear (52:27)
What

do you got for stairs? How many flights of stairs you do in a day?

Grizz (52:34)
I don't think I'll have to be honest. Let me see.

Ice Bear (52:36)
Do you have any

stairs at work?

Grizz (52:39)
I I do, but like, I'm gonna look, shit, hold on.

Ice Bear (52:42)
You

taking elevators? Booshy ass bear taking elevators.

Grizz (52:50)
I do take an elevator from my parking garage to the floor that I'm at. But.

Ice Bear (52:56)
If you just walked

uphill all the way home, I don't blame you.

Grizz (53:01)
But typically I don't even do that. So I've been here for a few weeks. I've driven my vehicle to work three times.

But let's see, oh, let me look. Open FitBin app. All right, let's look at this. So today I'm at 10,106 steps, four hours of sleep. Let's look at this, okay.

Ice Bear (53:28)
Yeah, ⁓

You're the only one I know that's ever worse than me. ⁓

Grizz (53:39)
The thing is, since I've been here, I've been singing more than I did back in Texas.

Ice Bear (53:45)
Yeah,

hold on, I had one the other day that was really funny. Let me see if can find it.

Grizz (53:52)
So currently, again, one of my load days.

Ice Bear (53:53)
Yeah, Tuesday.

Grizz (53:57)
One point a good day. One hour, twenty minutes sleep.

Ice Bear (53:58)
It's a rough one.

Grizz (54:07)
So right today This is to that was going today, right today 10,100 steps sleep granted. I had a lot of meetings today. So like I wasn't really moving around And also I drove I drove to work today I didn't walk to work and drive home walk home So for our six minutes of sleep

Ice Bear (54:27)
Mm.

Grizz (54:33)
Cardio, whatever, running distance zero. right. Steps 10,106. Distance five and a half miles. 3.8 thousand calories. Four floors today, so it's not a lot.

Ice Bear (54:56)
you know we should do you know we should do for next week's episode we should we should do ⁓ a to be to be AMA

Grizz (55:14)
Ooh.

Ice Bear (55:15)
or AAUA. The whole week we should see what the people want to chat about.

Grizz (55:19)
See?

That'd be interesting to say here. have this okay, so Tuesday was my day where I walk to work walk back right like up hell downhill kind of thing Tuesday also is a very advent happy day and I have It's all the computer work and it is at meetings and stuff But to give you an idea right so like So Tuesday 12,600 steps

Ice Bear (55:29)
Mm-hmm.

Grizz (55:49)
Not that much more, just 2,000 more steps than today, right? But I walked. Granted, granted, so today was what, four flights of stairs or whatever, right? Okay, so this one, 2,000 steps more, so 2,600 steps, distance, 6.9 miles, so just slightly less than two miles more, a mile and a half more, right?

Ice Bear (55:52)
Mm-hmm.

Yeah. Yeah.

Grizz (56:16)
My floors went from how much floors did I have? Like four? My floor is just 20. It's going from four to 20. And it's still an admin heavy day. it's still my with 20 floors more with 2000 steps more. Like so like it's but that's just with me walking up the hill and down the hill. How much like difference that is.

Ice Bear (56:19)
Yeah. ⁓

treacherous

treacherous hills

Grizz (56:42)
I'm telling you

those hit these two hills. like, when you were in Washington, you were more in Tacoma than Seattle, right? But are you kind of familiar with like downtown Seattle? OK. So do you know like I-5, right? OK. Do you know the street that goes through downtown ⁓ Denny?

Ice Bear (56:52)
Yeah.

Yeah, I can picture it easily.

Mm-hmm. Yeah.

Grizz (57:11)
Denny straight or whatever Avenue where the fuck it is. Okay, it's. So Denny goes through like all of Westlake. got it's it's one of the ones but it's it's one of the uphill ones. I get it's fucking it's uphill uphill.

Ice Bear (57:12)
I don't think I do.

Mm-hmm.

Mm.

Grizz (57:31)
So that's the that's the street that I go up and down and basically, like my works on Denny. My temporary housings on Denny, but it's like a mile apart, up downhill. So like, down going to work easy peasy. Now, granted, it's like I got my gym membership. It's less bad because halfway up gym.

Ice Bear (57:32)
Yes.

Mm.

Gosh. Yeah.

Easy peasy.

Grizz (58:01)
don't work out whatever refresh

Ice Bear (58:05)
That would also probably be nice because you're like warm already by the time you get to the gym so you can just start working out.

Grizz (58:08)
Yeah.

So that's this kind of thing, right? So like from work to the gym is actually not bad because I go up half the hill already. And then I go to the gym. Not terrible. ⁓ The only thing is, so I did my first like actual like lower body day.

Ice Bear (58:19)
Mm-hmm.

Grizz (58:28)
where I did squats, you know what I mean? Kind of thing. And so I, it's interesting because like, so the 24 hour here, there's three levels. The bottom level is the weight room. So going up from the weight room to the regular level you leave, the middle level you leave is like, I'm walking up and I'm like, my fucking God, I'm like a baby deer. I'm like, ⁓ I'm like dying, you know?

But then I start walking home and then I go up the first block uphill and I'm like dying. And then after the second time, I'm like kind of better, but still it's kind of sucks because again, leg day, do squats, do RDLs, do like leg extensions, do leg curls. It's rough. Halfway through though, I'm like, all right, like this sucks, but like it's not terrible.

Ice Bear (59:11)
Yeah, that's real rough.

Grizz (59:23)
It was not so like it's not as bad as just walking, working 10, 11 hours and then walking uphill a mile, cutting it in half and going to the gym has like, even though like I'm kind of fried from like, actually working out. It's kind of nice.

Ice Bear (59:31)
Yeah.

Yeah.

Yeah. It's also like a wind down too. Cause like, like people, that's the one thing a lot of people skip. Like you should, after you lift heavy, you should do a little wind down, either stretch or walk for a little bit or.

Grizz (59:46)
Yeah.

Yeah.

One of the things that's hard is that like where I'm at right now is a couple of like a block or two away from this like this pizza spot. And so when I'm walking up after the gym and after everything after like after like 10, 11 miles or 10, 11 hours of like working after like four or five hours of sleep and then going to the gym.

Ice Bear (59:58)
.

You're like, I earned it.

Grizz (1:00:25)
And then walking up like, ⁓ you know, almost like three quarters of a mile uphill, like literally all uphill. And I'm at the stoplight waiting for like the cross section for me to get to where I'm at in my building. I just smelled this pizza and I'm like, and it's like, it's a bar with pizza whose reviews have very high regards for the pizza. I'm like,

Ice Bear (1:00:42)
of that neon light is calling to you.

Grizz (1:00:55)
It smells like wood stove pizza and beer.

Ice Bear (1:01:01)
Yeah, that'd be rough.

Grizz (1:01:02)
It's so

hard. It's so hard to not keep going. Granted, I haven't had the pizza yet, but I'm like counting. I here's the funny thing. Here's the funny thing. I've like, I've committed to myself that I'm not going to have this pizza until I have like the tiger here with me. Are you here with me? Then I'm going to eat the pizza, but until then I'm not going to have the pizza. Bye.

Ice Bear (1:01:13)
It's a matter of time.

Look at you.

Grizz (1:01:31)
But every single time I walk by it after the gym, like, fuck, I need this pizza.

Ice Bear (1:01:39)
I can imagine. Yeah,

that sounds good. That sounds very good.

Grizz (1:01:43)
it's

it's i'm telling you once you smell it you're gonna be like fuck this is some good ass pizza and the funny thing is that like a hire up at work when they they ask like where i'm at after i know where i was put they're like ⁓ there's this pizza spot there you gotta try and it's this pizza spot and i'm like damn there i got the recommendation and it's

Ice Bear (1:02:00)
⁓ no.

And you got the recommendation too. Yeah, that would be really

hard then.

Grizz (1:02:10)
The smell

lines up with the recommendation too because look I love pizza I love shitty pizza. I love shitty delivery pizza. I love gas station pizza. I love fucking artisan pizza

Ice Bear (1:02:22)
Yeah,

it's all good. There's no there's no bad pizzas.

Grizz (1:02:25)
So when I

smell it I'm like, damn this is some good ass greasy artis... This is artisan pizza, but it's smell greasy too. Like this is like it's hitting. So I'm ready. I'm so ready. So I've been fighting it and the way I've been fighting it is I'm waiting until I have a visitor. Tiger or bear. I'm not getting this pizza until I somebody to accompany me there.

Ice Bear (1:02:32)
⁓ Yeah, that's a good combo.

That's a very good combo.

⁓ That's a good mental strategy for holding off. like it. All right. I think I got one more little finish this bad boy off.

Grizz (1:03:09)
I probably have like two or one and a half.

Ice Bear (1:03:09)
this this here this

here cryo

Grizz (1:03:20)
You're further on than me. That's for sure.

Ice Bear (1:03:23)
you had bottles.

had cans.

Grizz (1:03:26)
Fair.

Ice Bear (1:03:32)
It's it's it's it's because it's getting warm and else it's just like the the dank thing is not my cup of tea. And it's got like a like, you know how sometimes when you taste something it kicks back up into your nostrils? And yeah, that's what's going on.

Grizz (1:03:34)
⁓ Was that because it was warmer

Okay, and you taste the smell? Yeah, okay. Okay.

All right. What's worse? Danky or better?

Ice Bear (1:03:59)
For me?

Grizz (1:04:00)
Yeah.

Ice Bear (1:04:02)
Probably banky.

Grizz (1:04:04)
Really? Okay, I would go bitter worse than thank you.

Ice Bear (1:04:07)
I'm not huge on either, but if I had to pick, think I'd go, I can tolerate high levels of bitter more than I can't dank because of the smell.

Grizz (1:04:15)
Interesting.

Okay, ⁓

Ice Bear (1:04:19)
It gets me every time.

Grizz (1:04:26)
Why the smell? Is it because you taste the smell? Or what is it? Specifically that?

Ice Bear (1:04:31)
Yes. Yeah. It's a hundred

percent that. it also, feels like.

explain it. It almost reminds me of if I'm trying to like something made you gag, and you're trying to like, keep it down. I don't know it's something about that sensation is reminiscent of the smell.

Grizz (1:04:56)
Interesting, all right.

Okay, so have you had a dinky beer that you liked?

Ice Bear (1:05:08)
I don't dislike this one, but liked like A tier? Probably not.

Grizz (1:05:14)
Okay. ⁓ it's interesting. Cause I think you're not a fan of the bitters, but even like the dinky too. that's, that's kind of hard. That's interesting that like you like EPAS, but you don't like dink or bitter.

Ice Bear (1:05:21)
No, not really.

Mm hmm.

Yeah. No, normally with the epas that I like it's because of the aftertaste. It'll be it'll be whatever fruit it'll be the pine will be grassy the earth like it'll be those flavors that I'm like,

Grizz (1:05:33)
So is it?

So like the grassy.

That's fair.

Okay. All right. That's because typically the dank is like typically Imperials Right or my my off on that right? Yeah Yeah Yeah, I fuck with the feels heavy I I do so I do like I do like dank a lot Bittersome whatever about I can go with with or without

Ice Bear (1:05:51)
Mm hmm. Yes. Nope. I think you're very right on that. And I don't like Imperials.

It's because you're manlier than I am. I'm not.

Grizz (1:06:13)
For me, like, fruited stuff, has to be fruited right for me to like, like it. It has to compliment the dink. He has to compliment the bitters. If it doesn't, I'm like, fuck this shit.

Ice Bear (1:06:27)
I'm trying to think why would this I wonder if there's some sort of

genetic explanation for this. Do you think Europeans and Middle Easterners had more access to weird sour fruits than did Latinos? Pardon me, Latinxs?

Grizz (1:06:51)
⁓ Genix. ⁓

As a person that doesn't get triggered, nothing triggers me more than Filipinics and Latinics.

Ice Bear (1:07:08)
Dude, that article bothered me immensely.

Grizz (1:07:11)
And that's so funny because I perfectly encompass like why Latinx stuff annoyed the shit out of me.

Ice Bear (1:07:20)
me. You got me real good.

Yeah, I don't. It does. Yeah, there's something about it. That's incorrect.

Grizz (1:07:47)
It's terrible.

kind of think so,

I'm trying to think of like, danginess and bitterness and like, when something comes full body, what I don't like more.

I think I generally do like dank and bitterness. Fruited stuff is always really hard for me. I think that's probably why I didn't like sours as much as I, until like a lot of Martin Haas. Yeah, cause like I do like dank. I do like bitter. I do like all those tubs, all those types of stuff.

Ice Bear (1:08:23)
That's totally fair.

Grizz (1:08:34)
So when you have like something that has like some dank and then fruited stuff, I'm like, fuck this is fucking perfect.

Ice Bear (1:08:41)
Now here's the follow up question. I can't remember. What is your affection level for the sticky icky?

Grizz (1:08:53)
completely.

⁓ do I say this?

What's like the equivalent of an atheist for it? I don't care.

Ice Bear (1:09:10)
like you're agnostic towards weed. Yeah, because

Grizz (1:09:13)
there you go yeah because like it's it's whatever to me like i

would say the only things i've ever like when i when i ever i partook is when there was copious amounts and everybody was partaking and we didn't have anything to do so i'm like okay bye but like

Ice Bear (1:09:28)
Yeah. Cause as I think,

you know, I, hate it. And I kind of wonder if that's part of my aversion to dank.

Grizz (1:09:35)
I'm yeah, I'm like

Yeah, that's fair because like for me I don't hate it But I dislike it more than I like it But i'm fairly agnostic to it to where like If it's a scale of one to ten one to hate ten to like I love it. It's a four

Right? And so like if I have it, I'm like, whatever. I'm going to, I don't know whether or not, but I'm fine with it overall. You know what I mean? But like, yeah. But if I have to pick, like if I have to have a thank you beer over like smoke a bowl, I'm taking, I'm picking the thank you beer. 1000%.

Ice Bear (1:10:01)
Interesting.

Mm-hmm. ⁓

So would I. But I'm not going to enjoy that very much.

Grizz (1:10:35)
Yeah, that's interesting because like you

Ice Bear (1:10:40)
just with the can.

Grizz (1:10:40)
because typically with higher ABV,

there's more dank, right? So like.

So you are fine with higher ABV, but you don't like the dankies or bitters.

Ice Bear (1:10:58)
No, not so much. Not so much.

Grizz (1:11:02)
It's interesting.

Ice Bear (1:11:06)
Yeah. Well, now that I'm comparing it to also like other recreational things, I'm thinking I really like hookah. And that's also very like fruity. Like a lot of shisha is like very, fruity. And I would when we would make it, I think I told you like in the base, we would put like fruit flavored vodkas.

Grizz (1:11:06)
I mean, it makes sense.

True.

flavor vodka.

Ice Bear (1:11:44)
Yeah, a little bit. Yeah. The other

other fun thing that we used to do. ⁓ Don't don't do this kids. If you're listening. ⁓ We would add like a little bit of ⁓ either like ice cream or something dairy. And it makes the smoke super thick.

Grizz (1:12:05)
Okay, so okay, all right, right. So hookah base liquid. Yeah.

Ice Bear (1:12:11)
So like here, I'll give you the time that's coming to mind. So I found

a ⁓ vanilla shisha and then the base I just straight up put a white Russian in it.

Grizz (1:12:25)
So you made a right Russian puttin' in or like a can of right Russian?

Ice Bear (1:12:27)
Yep. No,

I made a white Russian like how I would drink a white Russian. Put it in the base. vanilla shisha fired up and it the smoke is like super thick. So when you're doing like smoke tricks and doing like the smoke circles, they're like

Grizz (1:12:41)
Yeah.

Ice Bear (1:12:46)
and linger forever and they're like thick in the ethereal and it's creepy and fantastic and then sometimes you might chase one down and go and slurp it back in.

Grizz (1:12:52)

So here's the thing, like, all right, because you talked about it. So the only times I've ever had was a friend, whatever, like when I was like in my old band and stuff. In some of the best moments were us partying and drinking and then a hookah. Right. Some of the conversations, like all the things that we've had with each other, I'm like.

Ice Bear (1:13:25)
it absolutely, absolutely should. Cause it's, it's very meditative. There's, there's

Grizz (1:13:25)
Right. So, so when, yeah. So, so

when you, yeah. So when you visit them, like who could be great because, because for me, don't really smoke Google, but like, I love cigars, but the idea of like the meditative state and kind of like saying literally the same thing. So I'm like, instead of cigars, that sounds pretty.

Ice Bear (1:13:42)
Mm-hmm.

Yeah, I firmly support the idea. I think it'd be super fun.

Grizz (1:13:59)
And this idea of like, instead of using

like waters, because the only time they did do hookah was with this friend that we like, we would do stuff, but it was straight just water and like, we would just have the whatever. I don't know. It's not cold, but like whatever the tobacco and we add to the hookah. That's the flavor.

Ice Bear (1:14:21)
Well, that's the other thing that people do wrong is they put the coal in the wrong spot. Cause it's really easy to burn the shisha and that makes it terrible. So like when you, when you wrap the top thing with tin foil or aluminum foil and you poke your little holes in there. I think the biggest mistake a lot of people make is way too many holes. You need like three right in the middle and you're fine. And then you do like a quick swirl. Once you have your little coal lit.

and then bring it off to the edge. So then it's just like a slow and you got to move it. Like you got to keep that coal like moving around so you don't burn that. And you can easily make one little batch probably last 45 minutes. It's two people hour if you wanted to. And you're just using like that much cisha. Like you're not, not even like half a bag.

Mm-hmm. ⁓

Grizz (1:15:19)
So the thing with me, was like, I didn't know. It was the person that did it. You know what mean? They brought their hookah in this and that. But I definitely know that we used more than just this much, know what mean? Between like three of us. So that's interesting.

Ice Bear (1:15:27)
Mm-hmm. Yeah.

Mm No, you don't need a lot. You don't need a lot.

Yeah. And yeah, because that was like one of my my main recreational things the last two years of college and I had a card table. And just because by the end of the evening, like someone would party foul the coal off the thing and it had so many burn marks on the table from the coal.

Yeah, I think that would be a mandatory fun. ⁓ I can officially rate the Cryo EPA here a solid C plus. And if you like dank, I can easily see it being an A minus. It's just not not Mike up a T.

Grizz (1:16:15)
C plus? All right.

Mmm.

That's a big swing.

Ice Bear (1:16:27)
out. Well, I recognize ⁓ it's a personal preference thing, so I'm not going to bully it.

Grizz (1:16:33)
Okay, but yeah, but like I think you've had enough Thank you beers and thank you beers to where you can like, okay, this is good I know it's good, but I don't like it and other one where it's So from a c plus to an a is kind of wild

Ice Bear (1:16:47)
Yeah.

Well, I'm giving it a C plus. don't like it, but I'm just saying if, you do like Dankey, it's a really good beer. Yeah. Yeah, I really do.

because that's my only complaint about it.

Grizz (1:17:07)
Too dinky.

Yeah for mine Rude away getting There was some thing to it I actually enjoyed it more so I actually where I'm This This is Craig Craig is a bee if you go be pus I'm like I believe you

If you go A- I'm like I believe you too. For me personally, the likes, Imperials, the likes, whatever. This is a B. ⁓

Ice Bear (1:17:47)
Mm. Oops.

Grizz (1:17:49)
I wanna say B +, but this is a B. And the only reason I'm not giving it a B +, is because Rude Awakening is a B+.

Ice Bear (1:17:52)
Bzzz Bzzz

Ray Romano. Nice.

Grizz (1:18:04)
So Crikey, I liked you and I enjoyed you. And I genuinely believe when you do come to old Washington, this one, you're gonna love it. Cause I liked this one more than I liked this one.

Ice Bear (1:18:21)
I do like pine. I'm a sucker for anything with pine in it.

Grizz (1:18:26)
but I'm going.

Yeah, okay, all right.

crikey b- no b b b crikey is a b root awakening b plus i'm conflicted because they're both really good but comparing them to others are not a's i know that for sure so b b plus

Ice Bear (1:18:38)
you

There we

go.

Grizz (1:19:00)
Like if we had a six pack of this, this is a damn good time.

Ice Bear (1:19:04)
Nice. Very nice.

Grizz (1:19:07)
It's a six whatever sub seven, but it's fucking damn good. We're going to have the best time drinking it kind of thing. This one, it's a solid beer. It's very dinky for only being 8%. So like it's, it's a B plus at best. I enjoyed all of it. It was great. I wish I had more of it. I was about two bottles of it.

B plus because it doesn't beat some of the greater ones even though it has a lower score a B what did say it was?

Ice Bear (1:19:47)
This is the most complicated rating you've ever given. You said it was a you said it was a B at last rating.

Grizz (1:19:50)
Whatever. Whatever you say.

Okay so B. So it being a B, even though was less than the B plus of the Rude Awakening, this is still my favorite.

Ice Bear (1:20:07)
that makes no sense. But I like I like I like your gumption. I like I like your stick to it ifness here.

Grizz (1:20:16)
The

thing is this, I am acknowledging that it's not as good of a beer as a rude awakening.

But if I have to drink, if I'm going to or buying a six pack of which one, I'm picking the crikey, not the awakening. And if I'm going to where you're coming to visit and I'm going to have a six pack available, it's crikey, not rude awakening. Although I liked rude awakening. think rude awakening is a better beer than the crikey as a whole.

Ice Bear (1:20:35)
I love it. I see what you're saying.

⁓ I see what you're saying.

Grizz (1:20:55)
Prykey is way more accessible, it's less dinky, it's slightly less strong, but it's full bodied enough to where I'm going to feel great drinking multiple of them.

Ice Bear (1:20:57)
I

So I think that is just a beautiful analogy for this episode as a whole, because I would give this episode a solid B. I don't think I would watch it before I watched episode 20. But for 21, for our maiden voyage into the 20s, it's a damn good episode, but not quite as good as the last episode.

Grizz (1:21:38)
Exactly. We know what you did last summer.

Ice Bear (1:21:43)
We should do the next episode with hook hands.

It's a strong hand. Strong hand.

Grizz (1:21:56)
It's pretty great. I think I fucked up. Maybe. By having bottles.

Ice Bear (1:22:04)
Bottles are rough, man.

Yeah, there's, there's big as your noggin. You can't do bottles.

Grizz (1:22:13)
Actually,

I can't do the thumbnail with showing what we got. But I can do... shit. I can do this.

Ice Bear (1:22:21)
⁓ no, this is...

Grizz (1:22:27)
There we go.

Ice Bear (1:22:35)
Well, that's beautiful.

Grizz (1:22:35)
Good.

You have to hide what the beers are good. They have to be surprised.

Ice Bear (1:22:44)
⁓ hold on, I can do that.

Grizz (1:23:00)
There we go, there we go.

It's perfect.

Ice Bear (1:23:08)
Yeah, I think it's just that.

Grizz (1:23:10)
Are

we missing anything? I don't think we are. I think we covered everything.

Ice Bear (1:23:13)
Nope. I

think all things are covered.

Grizz (1:23:18)
Damn.

Ice Bear (1:23:19)
I think it should just be a double lean in and a double damn and then cut it.

Grizz (1:23:28)
All right, three,

two, one.

Ice Bear (1:23:33)
day.
