What is Clydesdale Media Podcast?

We cover the sport of CrossFit from all angles. We talk with athletes, coaches and celebrities that compete and surround in the sport of CrossFit at all levels. We also bring you Breaking News, Human Interest Stories and report on the Methodology of CrossFit. We also use the methodology to make ourselves the fittest we can be.

It's a Monday and the rollercoaster ride

has begun.

From the gym to the screen, yeah,

we cover it all.

Midday motivation every time you press

call.

Lunch with the Clydesdale.

Cowboy bring the heat.

Crossfit, boobies, music on repeat.

Half hour hustle, yeah,

we building that brand.

Grab a plate, tune in now,

you part of the fam.

It's lunch time.

What's going on, everybody?

I just had my hand on my desk.

Ow.

That is starting the show with a bang.

I'm trying not to because the whole thing

with like, you know,

don't drop any F-bombs within the first

six, eight minutes or whatnot.

I'm trying to be better about that.

And then you bang your hand off your

desk.

Quickly, too.

Like it was flying through.

Yeah.

I'm good, though.

I'm good.

I'm not screaming about it.

I'm fine.

Hi, everybody.

Started out all pretty well.

Good night.

Well,

I have some bad news for Daniel Arnson.

Oh?

Vicky ain't here today.

So... At least not yet.

Maybe she will be later.

You can plead and request that she pull

up your comments all you want.

Guess what?

She ain't here to do it.

I'm in charge.

Sorry, not sorry.

Just letting you know.

Just saying, dog.

Just saying.

Gosh darn it.

It is.

That's what you should have said when you

banged your hand.

Sort of.

Actually, no.

It was an F-bomb.

It was one big one,

and I'm trying not to yell it out

because...

Trying to be good about that kind of

stuff.

And it's difficult sometimes because I

have a horrible potty mouth.

Ninety nine percent of the time.

So.

I'm working on being better.

Yeah.

It's about growth, Scott.

It is about growth.

One percent.

I, uh.

I was telling Corey before I hopped on,

I talked about it briefly last night.

I went to my family reunion.

Is that better?

Did I say that better?

Yes,

so much better than the family reunion I

went to.

I went to my family reunion,

got sat with a guy that may have

been racist,

may have had political views that he

wanted to express.

And the worst part of the conversation was

he talked with his mouth full.

So the entire conversation,

because I'm sitting across the picnic

table from him,

was ducking the shrapnel as he was talking

to me.

You know,

the guy that puts like a half a

jar of relish on his burger and then

talks to you and you're ducking pickles

the whole.

He's like,

we could have this conversation,

but I'd much rather do it without you

spitting at me.

So could you please finish your food first

and then we'll discuss whatever you want

to do after that?

That'd be fantastic.

Yeah, but yeah,

his whole conversation started off with,

hey, you live in Columbus?

I hear you're having trouble with the

Muslims.

I like how it's like,

I heard you're having trouble with the

Muslims.

Like as in, as if Scott,

first of all,

leaves his house for more than twenty,

thirty minutes at a time and then goes,

I heard you specifically were having

trouble with the Muslims.

Whatever that is supposed to mean.

What kind of trouble are we having?

I can't tell you a time when I

did have trouble with Muslims.

No,

I don't know any to have trouble with

Muslims.

I work with a bunch.

I have never, ever had a trouble.

I had problems with Muslims.

No.

The couple that I've met in my time,

days, travels,

whatever you want to call it,

had been really nice people who had been

down to do the same stuff that everybody

else is doing.

Just want to work.

Just want to support their life.

Just want to move on with their business.

It's ridiculous.

Columbus has to be like one of the

most diverse communities in the country.

and and that that's one thing i'm so

glad that my daughter got raised in like

she went to school with all ethnicities

all races it all and so like i'm

just glad she had that experience yeah

because i did not grow up that way

neither did i i grew up in a

very lily white community where if you saw

a black person it was shocking

but i'm so glad she got a different

experience than me um i did not attend

school with a black person got taught by

several but like i didn't have a black

person classmate until i got to high

school yeah i think it was middle school

for me yeah well and i was right

i was the only black person in my

neighborhood

She's not wrong.

It's just the circumstance of where I was

born.

Not like I was actively avoiding or

whatever.

It's just a thing.

Lito, member for fourteen months.

Appreciate you, Lito.

So pumped that she's been a member for

that long.

She's one of my favorite people in the

world.

Even Penn State fans live in Columbus.

You are correct.

Someone has to represent the good guys

here.

As it turns out.

Yeah.

So speaking of college football,

have you seen the latest news?

I'm sure it's all over the LSU internets.

Not just the LSU,

just the random college sports things that

I follow as well.

It's all over that.

Let's talk about it first.

Let me explain the situation.

For the first time ever,

there is the potential that an NFL player

is going to go back to college because

that is more lucrative than staying in the

NFL.

Yeah.

So his name is Daquan Wright.

He was an undrafted free agent signing of

the Cleveland Browns.

Yeah.

He was the tight end for Lane Kiffin

at Ole Miss last year.

Signs with the Browns.

Gets waived this morning.

If he clears waivers,

he is under no contract with the NFL.

And he is eligible due to a weird...

court system ruling to be able to go

back to college.

And Lane Kiffin has already been in talks

with him to come to LSU and be

their starting tight end.

He's not going to start.

He's not going to start over trade is

green,

but

And here's the thing, right?

Because Lane Kiffin on a lot of different

places is getting dragged, right?

Just people just, you know,

between him and Will Wade.

I saw somebody this morning that hopes

that LSU loses every game that they play,

both college football and basketball.

Like people are that upset about it.

Here's the thing.

He didn't make the rules.

He's the first one that got apparently

noticed for it because he did try to

get the kid to come to school here

and finish out his senior year.

He went undrafted,

got picked up by the Browns instead.

Okay, cool, whatever.

Anybody could be doing this.

Kurt Cignetti.

Anybody else could be having stuff.

Once the floodgates open,

you know they're all going to do it.

And it's only going to be good for,

I think, what, one more year after this?

Because it's like from twenty twenty two

to what I saw and get up.

There is a loophole that if some say

someone

leave school early after three years and

they decide they want to go.

And then, um,

it doesn't go as well as they thought

in the NFL,

like wherever they could choose to go

back.

Like we're only talking probably this year

of like undrafted free agents.

Right.

But it could leak into draft picks.

You could represent as soon as NIL

started, uh,

As soon as that became a thing and

we started paying players out front

instead of paying them under the table,

this is where we were headed.

We don't have to pay them under the

table anymore.

You can just bring it out in the

light.

Coach Ogeron said it best.

We used to bring the money in the

back door.

Now we just bring it in the front.

That's the only difference.

But because it's happening,

you can just call it what it is.

It's college football,

which I absolutely love.

You can call it what it is now.

It has been for quite some time.

It is a semi-professional,

like the league below the NFL.

But here is the wild concept.

he is going to make more money in

college than he could make in the pro

NFL.

And that's a wild concept because right

now there is no governance in college

football as to how much you spend.

The NFL has a salary cap.

College football does not.

No.

LSU has the TAF,

which is the Tiger Athletic Fund,

which is privately funded.

There are no state funds that go into

that whatsoever.

You know who went to LSU?

The guy who owns Raisin Cane's.

I wish – Julie, listen to me.

I wish Vicky was here so she could

look it up and see.

But I can guarantee you he has a

lot of money.

Listen, Mark Cuban went to Indiana.

Exactly.

He won the national championship.

Indiana.

Because that man said, hey,

I want my alma mater to kick some

ass in college football.

Yeah.

It's unreal.

And like you said,

the fact that there's no kind of

regulation on it.

Yeah,

I know you're on the practice squad for

the Browns right now,

but would you like to come back to

LSU and play one year and possibly win

a national championship and get some NIL

money?

Yeah.

And make ten times what you would in

the NFL?

Yeah.

I don't blame Daquan one bit.

If I'm Daquan,

I'd jump at the chance to do that.

Not at all, dude.

Not at all.

College football,

as a competitor to the NFL,

has a better shot than the WFP against

the CrossFit Games.

By far.

It's wild.

It is wild.

And here's the thing.

College football will not admit that these

players are employees.

No, I love that part.

And because they won't admit that they are

employees,

there are no guardrails to this.

Correct.

The players can't unionize.

They can't fight for protections and

fairness or anything like that.

Nope.

And they can also make millions of

dollars.

And they also, they just,

the whole thing's insane.

whole thing's insane because you said like

there's no guardrails they can write

whatever checks they want whatever they

just gotta go look and see what's in

the athletic fund okay cool can we afford

to pay this cool kid yeah all right

give him whatever he wants

I'm sure we're going to talk about this

way more on EA Sports tomorrow night.

But it's just a wild,

wild concept that I had to bring up.

That's fantastic.

Cows and CrossFit makes a great point.

Make more money,

definitely win a national championship.

Not likely at LSU.

We will see how it goes, my brother.

we will see how it goes i love

the shit talking oh yeah it's starting up

we're a couple weeks away from like all

the all the stuff happening and kicking

off i cannot wait dude i am so

pumped for sure uh do they even have

to take classes anymore uh they have to

take a class they have to be enrolled

in classes

have to be enrolled in school if they

want to play in a bowl game or

at like the playoffs they better pass the

classes here's the fun part the other fun

part my son started back at lsu today

today like he's going to class probably

right now as a matter of fact so

like whatever is happening with this needs

to happen right now because enrollment

yeah that's already a thing

like all the rules and regulations that

they got in place and all that typical

drop ads about what two weeks uh and

drop an ad yeah usually about two weeks

so you can add a class within the

first two weeks generally or you couldn't

drop a class in the first two weeks

yeah i don't think people even take

classes for stan i think they show up

for some of them and

Maybe they do some stuff.

Maybe they don't.

It really depends on,

I would say the ones that know that

they are actual student athletes probably

go to class.

But the guys that got their eyes on

the NFL and been,

I don't want to say promised it,

but been told all their life.

Let's be real.

There's classes in college that you don't

have to really attend to pass.

Underwater basket weaving.

That's the one that's always been used,

but you know damn well there's like

history of TV or like goofy shit now

that we... Yeah.

I mean, when I was in college,

the choices were stupid at times if you

wanted to fill your curriculum.

And those are like those, what,

optional...

Thanks.

Electives.

Electives.

Yeah.

I took weightlifting our second semester

at Nichols because I needed an easy A,

and I knew I could just go show

them lift weights.

Oh, okay, cool.

I took bowling one semester.

Outstanding.

Kicked some ass.

I took speech,

actually took speech too because I had

speech as a freshman in high school and

I was eligible for it.

So it's like literally show up,

write something down,

stand up in front of class.

Like it's all subjective, right?

So as long as you're not completely just

hammering over your words,

I don't know if y'all know this or

not,

but I like to talk and I'm pretty

good at doing it in front of people.

Like that was another easy A. I just,

I had to,

the worst part about that class is that

it was eight o'clock in the morning and

I had to show up for it.

Daniel Arnson made a great point.

Penn State was in a good position this

year, but we lost all the drug money.

So now I'm not sure we can pay

as much to the players.

It turns out that we were really relying

on that cocaine money.

Damn it, Pablo.

Pablo Pledgeskabar.

Pledgeskabar.

Fergie last night,

if you didn't see last night's show,

was taking a chance with his ice cream

that had expired in March.

I thought he said February.

Ice cream update, I survived the purge.

FYI, Rebel ice cream does not melt.

So the stuff that he's got is like,

It's basically protein ice cream type

stuff.

Whatever the other brand,

I can't think of his name.

They recommend that when you take it out

of the freezer,

you set it on your countertop and you

leave it there for fifteen,

twenty minutes so that you can actually

eat it because it's so solid when it's

frozen,

like you'll bend a spoon trying to get

it in there.

a little top trying to think of.

Yeah.

Uh, Meredith asks, uh, ice cream expires.

Jamie contended last night that it doesn't

expire.

It just gets freezer burnt.

And if you just chip that freezer burn

off the outside, you're good to go.

Right.

I don't think, uh,

If anybody says, does ice cream expire?

That says a lot more about their ice

cream habits than most people do because

they'd never actually gotten to that point

to figure out that ice cream expires.

Never once has ice cream in my freezer

made it to the expiration date.

No, no.

I didn't even realize that there was an

expiration date on there.

And even if there was ice cream in

my house, usually if I buy it,

it'll be a pint of Halo Top or

whatever, and it'll last about two days.

Yeah, I don't even buy it anymore.

Like for me,

that is my biggest dessert crutch that I,

and that's why like Sundays are drive up

to a neighboring town and get my medium

soft serve cone.

And that's my treat.

And I don't bring it into my house

because it ain't gonna last forever.

No, I'm telling you, dude,

like a pint of Halo Top literally will

last me the day I bring it home,

I'll eat half of it,

and the next day I'll eat the other

half of it.

And sometimes the whole pint won't make it

tonight.

Like I have been known to crush a

pint of Halo Top that night.

Won't be hard to do.

So I got to call up my nephew.

He used to live with us here.

He went to college in Columbus,

and he got a job here in Columbus,

and so we let him live with us

until he could get on his feet.

he had a bad day he would we

have a thing called the united dairy

farmers it's like a little filling station

type thing where in convenience store but

they the co-lab of the dairy farmers makes

the product for the store so it is

like homemade ice cream

He'd stop there, get two pints.

If he had a bad day,

he would come home,

put them in the microwave for like thirty

seconds.

So it melted just enough.

And he would go up to the bedroom,

shut the door,

and we wouldn't see him the rest of

the night.

See y'all tomorrow.

See y'all tomorrow.

That's fantastic.

Um, uh, Jody's craving a root beer float,

any kind of float Coke float.

I've never been a float guy when I

was a kid.

Like that wasn't, that was a cool thing,

but I I'm just thinking like how much

sugar.

If somebody opens a regular Coke anywhere

in my general vicinity, I can smell it.

I can smell the sugar in it immediately.

I cannot imagine a glass of it with

a scoop or two ice cream just floating

in it.

That would probably just send me directly

into a diabetic coma at that point because

that's just a lot of sugar that I'm

not used to.

I tried Tillamook ice cream yesterday at

my mom's house.

It was very good.

The only thing I know about Tillamook is

cheese and their cheese is exceptional.

It should be.

I've seen what they put,

what they charge for it.

Yeah.

They have an aged white cheddar.

It's a bomb.

I mean, if you,

if you that proud of it and that,

you know, it runs you that much,

you should probably charge.

You probably going to charge whatever the

hell you're going to charge for it.

So I get that point.

Um,

I had an Arizona iced tea for the

first time in years yesterday.

Could only handle four sips.

Still on my dollar, a dollar,

was it dollar nine, dollar nine?

I think the cans of Arizona tea are

only nine, nine cents.

And, uh, it should be.

Yeah.

I used the Arizona, uh,

it was like green tea,

something or another.

God, that stuff was so good, dude.

It's probably terrible for you.

uh david johnston just uh had tillamook

cheese about ten minutes ago that's

unsurprising mr johnson's pretty bougie i

don't know if y'all know that or not

he lives there he lives in augusta you

understand with it yeah all right sorry

david i'm throwing your business out there

in the world but he lives on the

golf course he doesn't live on the golf

course that's not true i just made that

he's not far from it

He just sneaks into the pool at night.

It wouldn't surprise me.

It wouldn't surprise me.

Look,

if I saw him coming and he didn't

have his shirt on,

I'd let him go wherever he wanted to

as well.

We call it disgusta.

Disgusta.

What do I want to talk about today?

So I had to bring this up because

I saw this because –

some big names or big names in my

world came up on this competition.

It happened this weekend.

Have you ever heard of the big orange

brawl?

No, I have not.

Sorry.

That's Clifford.

It is a competition in Knoxville,

Tennessee.

Okay.

And because that's where the university of

Tennessee is,

they call it the big orange brawl fair.

They had a competition and I don't know

if you recognize this winner.

Right here in the middle.

I can't hardly see that.

You're going to have to zoom in.

She just got married like a week ago.

Oh, shit.

There's Allie Mertens.

With her Mertens versus everyone shirt.

I love that.

She can wear that now because now she's

actually Allie Mertens.

That's all right right there.

Look what they gave her.

They gave her a big check.

I am one hundred percent jealous.

One hundred percent jealous.

So she won the women's elite.

That is Alex Majors.

If you guys don't know,

I've mentioned him several times on this

show.

Yep.

Dang it.

He was my coach at my noon CrossFit

class.

Get out.

At CrossFit Polaris.

I don't know if you can see the

CrossFit Polaris shirt there.

He looks like he's fifteen.

He's the one with the really long hair

that you see at the semifinals like

Syndicate.

Okay.

Um,

he looks like the samurai chef from

Saturday night live back in the day.

So then,

so then those were there and then I'm

flipping through and I don't know if you

guys recognize this person in the middle,

but she won the master's division.

Her name is Amanda Fillers,

a frequent person in our chat.

She just tagged us on Instagram wearing

the super powerful Clydesdale Media blue

shirt.

Yeah.

So she got a Clydesdale Media blue shirt

and now she's on the top of the

podium.

Not a coincidence, bro.

Not a coincidence.

Not a coincidence.

Just saying.

I think that's pretty freaking awesome.

It is.

Hey, scroll down for me a little bit.

I want to see who's on that Masters

Men's podium.

Anybody I know.

Negative.

All right.

Yeah,

I didn't recognize anybody else in the

thing.

FYI, y'all, if y'all don't know,

and not just from this podium right here,

but Amanda Fillers is fit with a capital

F.

Like, it's just silly.

It really, really is.

I've seen that girl work.

She's fit.

Pool Boys in the chat.

You see the news of FortyNiners owner Jed

York getting arrested.

I did.

I saw it pop up on my phone

literally like two minutes before we went

on the air.

Oh.

In case you wanted to know.

Breaking news.

The owner of the FortyNiners was arrested

on suspicion of engaging in prostitution

with

before pleading no contest to misdemeanor

charges.

Was he buying or was he selling?

Every time they say engaging in

prostitution,

I'm going to need you to be a

little bit more forthcoming there because

I need to know what the difference is.

My assumption, he was buying.

Going on buying, all right.

But I'm sure further details will be

released as the day progresses.

More than likely, more than likely.

Okay.

Let's go with buying.

Let's just say he was buying just,

just for, just for,

cause he's probably a million years old.

If I had to guess he is not,

he really is not.

Uh, I think I just shut it down.

Um, no, he's, he's fairly young.

Okay.

One other piece of NFL news I just

wanted from the dirtbag department since

we're down in there.

We already have that.

Yeah, we're already on that.

Deshaun Watson, another Cleveland Brown,

held a press conference this weekend where

he was upset that he was booed during

his awful performance in a preseason game

this weekend and said that it's getting

personal and he doesn't believe it's about

his performance.

Well,

you were alleged to have sexually

assaulted seven women.

Let's start there.

I don't know if there is a more

tone deaf response to something.

I would like to know who told him

it was a good idea to host a

press conference to discuss it.

He did not host it.

This was the Browns hosting it after their

preseason game.

Oh, so okay.

That's even better.

So instead of...

Yeah, you know, it's preseason,

working out the kinks, blah, blah,

whatever.

I understand the fans' frustration.

I really feel like you guys are just

against me because reasons.

I don't even know what the reasons are.

And everybody else is like,

we know the reasons.

We got the reasons figured right on out

there, homeboy.

You know what he should do is go

get a massage.

I think that would probably solve all his

problems at this point because that's what

got him in trouble in the first place.

So let's go ahead and just do that.

And just to add a little color to

this story,

he was saying all that it was

disrespectful why putting a massive

diamond earring into his ear.

This is seriously disrespectful.

Hold on.

Let me put this four-carat diamond in my

ear.

You know,

because the Browns have paid him –

Two hundred and fifty million dollars to

not play.

I was about to say,

they paid him an absurd amount of money,

which, I mean,

is a totally Cleveland Brown thing to do,

right?

Let's be honest here.

Like,

that's on brand for them to just pay

a whole bunch of people an absurd amount

of money to not perform whatsoever.

Wayne says, he's not wrong.

It is very personal.

Yeah, a hundred percent.

Yeah.

No, we understand.

Jeez.

I,

The whole time he's talking, I'm going,

dumbass, dumbass.

But then the Browns took us one step

further and just about an hour ago named

him their starter.

I know yesterday went really, really well,

so we just want to make sure the

fans understand that he will, in fact,

be starting for us.

Our first regular season game.

That's wild, dude.

That's absolutely wild.

It's more proof to the fact that NFL

teams are notorious for this.

It's like,

we spent a lot of money on this

dude.

He's playing.

Period.

It doesn't matter.

If we get halfway through the season and

it sucks, okay,

then we'll reluctantly do something

different.

But they're trying to justify the money

that they spent on it.

And not only justify the money,

but they have pushed the money down the

road with contract extensions, right?

So that if they would want to cut

him,

the one hundred and twenty seven million

dollars goes on their cap immediately.

And no team in the league has that

much space.

So they can't cut him.

And they also can't get rid of him.

They can't be like, hey,

anybody else out there?

Like a little Deshaun Watson in your life?

And everybody's like, oh, no, thank you.

No, thank you.

There's a lot of massage parlors right

here next to the stadium that we don't

need him to be.

He's already got enough problems.

We have body work people that work in

the building and we cannot leave him

around them.

no no he has he has he has

a he has a body work buddy that

he has to go in with every single

time to make sure he doesn't do anything

ridiculously i do i think that is an

actual rule it wouldn't surprise he has to

be accompanied by an adult if it's not

a rule it should be how about i

am i am ninety percent sure that is

an actual rule yeah

I understand is correct.

The number of starting quarterbacks the

Browns have had since in nineteen ninety

nine is it's absurd.

It is.

Like every time I felt bad in those

years that the Bears sucked with their

quarterbacks,

all I had to do is look up

north here in Cleveland and say, well,

he's waiting to Browns.

I can't imagine the misery of being a

Browns fan.

Apparently, that is Dan Bailey's team.

That is what he grew up on.

He's been a long-suffering LeBron.

He's from Akron, Ohio.

Same place as LeBron James.

Oh, yeah.

You can tell just if you look at

him side by side.

Definitely grew up in the same

neighborhood for sure.

Terry.

I'm from Cleveland originally.

I pride myself on never jumping ship,

but they're making it really difficult.

You guys are not making this easy.

You guys are not making this easy.

I'm trying to stay on the ship.

Kicked in the face, kicked in the groin.

I'm trying to stay on.

Just come on.

Just work with me here.

Did you see,

while we're talking about NFL stuff,

did you see Joey B mic'd up talking

about the fossils and whatnot that he saw

at the Natural History Museum?

I did not, bro.

So he's just like, he's,

he's catching and like throwing and

catching and throwing.

And he's talking to one of the trainers

or somebody about, um, he's like, man,

like these fossils, blah, blah, blah.

They've been around for millions of years.

Like, why is that interesting to you?

He said,

why is it not interesting to you?

These things are millions of years old.

and all i could think of was that

joey b is so ready to be a

middle-aged man and like get into like

world war ii history and smoking meats and

like that like he is he's right there

dude he's so right there that man needs

him children bad bad bad so he grew

up in athens ohio that's where my daughter

went to college if you've never been there

that fits exactly that personality

I can't wait, dude.

Like,

every other house is smoking meat out

back.

Oh, yeah.

And they're probably all talking about

fossils.

Yeah.

And, like,

he's going to know an absurd amount about

World War II history.

Like, just all that stuff, dude.

He'll be sitting on the porch rocking.

Oh, yeah.

sitting back attack that archaea uh terex

it was like the missing link bird between

false you know dinosaurs and birds like

that's a really a thing i learned that

i can see it dude i can so

see it i love joey b love that

dude uh the jay cutler years weren't as

bad for a bears fan i actually love

jay cutler i was one of the few

fans that adored that man

You never knew what you were going to

get.

You were either going to get a five

hundred yard passing day with six

touchdowns or six interceptions and a

hundred and ten yard passing day.

But hey,

at least you were tuned in to see.

It was going to be exciting one way

or the other.

Exactly.

It won't be exciting one way or the

other.

You got to love that.

Before we forget,

I do need this huge shout-out to fellow

Clydesdale media member, Carolyn Prevost,

who seems to be aging like a fine

wine.

She's actually aging better than a fine

wine.

The fact that she finished third in that

qualifier, dude,

is absolutely mind-boggling.

If you have not seen it,

our very own Carolyn Prevost finished

third in the Rogue qualifier.

And that means she will be getting an

invite to the Rogue Invitational in

Scotland as long as video review does not

do something to her.

Pending video review.

I'm sure her video review is going to

be fine.

The girl moves impeccably good.

And she's been Rogue's tester for the last

three years.

So she knows what Rogue is looking for.

Absolutely.

Absolutely.

That's an incredible accomplishment, dude.

Good, good.

So happy for her.

That's outstanding.

Yeah.

So at thirty six years old,

she qualified for the toughest competition

to qualify for.

Oh, yeah.

As an elite?

Absolutely.

Like you were saying last night,

it's tougher than making it to the games.

I would agree.

There's only twenty spots and they invite

fifteen at minimum.

Yeah.

So,

and I would argue some of the people

they're inviting,

which they announced another one today,

is Gabby Magawa.

I would say like some of those people

probably aren't the top fifteen in the

world anymore.

Yeah.

And it's because they're reaching back.

What is it?

Two years?

Three years?

Five years.

Five years.

Two plus three years.

Five years.

Yep.

Let me see if I can pull it

up super fast.

As Vicky said, heel yeah.

Heel yeah.

I need to make a shirt with that

on it.

Heel yeah.

Oh, dear iPhones everywhere.

At no point have I ever said heel

yeah.

That's never been a thing.

So here is the invitee list for Rogue.

Sure, there it is.

If I just had a producer today.

Gabby McGowan got hers today.

We have Yonikoski and Emily Rolfe.

Guy Mejeros.

But like the Chandler Smith,

when was he relevant as an athlete?

Even in WFP,

he's not finishing in like a relevant

area.

No.

Wasn't he like twelfth or fifteenth or

something like that at WFP?

It's pretty far down the list.

I don't remember.

We got Spiegel,

who I love to see at Rogue.

She's made for that event.

We talked about that.

Tudor, Hayley Adams, Heinrich Heipelainen,

Paige Rogers, Moritz Fiebig,

and Elisa Fuliano.

Elisa Fuliano.

She's awesome.

She was on Pedro's podcast.

Was that her?

No, not her.

Not her.

Not her.

Not her.

Gosh darn it.

So what I kind of like about Rogue

is you get a little bit of old

and a little bit of new,

like the old generation into the new

generation.

Yeah.

But it makes it harder to qualify in.

Yes.

Was my point.

um so and i think i don't know

this for a fact i think there's a

clause that gabby magawa and heinrich

heipelainen will get invites forever

because they got hurt at the event and

now to feel bad they will get an

invite every year they got the same hurt

at the event

Which has got to be a record, right?

That's got to be some sort of record.

Not a record you want to have,

mind you, but it's definitely a record.

I'm assuming Sam Quant's invite is coming

soon.

I don't understand how he's not already on

the list, to be honest with you.

Automatic bid.

I'm waiting to actually hear back from one

of my athletes that competed over the

weekend.

She was going to get MRI this morning

because she may or may not have ruptured

her Achilles as well at a little comp

we had down here over the weekend.

I would think, from my understanding,

I have not ruptured an Achilles.

Mm-hmm.

You don't really need an MRI to know.

The MRI is to confirm.

It's to confirm.

She said she definitely did.

Yeah, she heard it.

She felt it.

She finished the event.

And then she said that was Saturday.

She said she woke up yesterday and she

couldn't walk.

So there was that.

But they don't do MRIs on Sundays at

the emergency room.

So she's going back for a follow-up,

I think, either today or tomorrow.

I don't remember.

Tess wants to know if she is the

only one that wishes Gabby and Laura would

become friends again.

And the chat has pretty much answered yes,

she is the only one.

That is the only ones.

That is the only ones.

Yeah.

I guess I don't care.

No, not at all.

If they do, awesome.

Good for you.

If they don't, okay.

Okay.

Yeah.

There's another six billion people on the

planet that you can be friends with.

Yeah.

I'm also not super concerned if Josh,

Matt, and Siobhan bring back the Josh,

Matt,

and Siobhan podcast because it was cool

while I was there and then I really

don't give a shit anymore.

Maybe they will.

Maybe they won't.

Nobody cares.

It's really not that important.

Hey,

I used to think they should bring back

Knight Rider,

but then I watched it again and I

was like, man, I was wrong.

Man.

That is a bold stance to take.

Either direction.

When they tried to reboot Knight Rider,

it was way,

way worse than the original Knight Rider

was.

Like you said,

when you go back and watch it now,

you're like, oh yeah,

David Hasselhoff is not a good actor.

I totally forgot about that.

That's my fault.

Not only not good, terrible.

Terrible.

Terrible.

Absolutely terrible.

The car was cool.

Mark Phillips is the best because he knows

the old references,

and not only do we get it once,

but he gives that second punch.

Erwin probably wouldn't hit the same

either.

Yeah,

I'm guessing that Jan-Michael Vincent

isn't the actor that I thought he was

either.

I was going to say,

is it Jan-Michael Vincent or is it

Jan-Michael Vincey?

Because isn't he foreign of some sort?

He's like some kind of weird...

swedish or you know some sort of

scandinavian type thing i think it's

vincent i uh i uh i never knew

it as vincent i always knew it as

vincent but okay yeah um plus you're not

gonna get um what was old boy's name

oh his co-pilot i can see him

Ernest Borgnine?

Ernest Borgnine, yes.

Ernest Borgnine, dude.

It was a modern day Ernest Borgnine.

There are none.

It's not a thing.

It's not a thing.

There's no modern day.

I will die on that hill.

There's no modern day Ernest Borgnine.

It's not going to happen.

There's something in here.

PSA,

this show cares about a lot of things,

but as to other people's friendships,

we don't care.

Not at all.

Not at all.

Oh, and let's get this right.

I hope all of you have friends.

Yeah.

I'm good with that.

I hope every single one of you has

friends.

But if you lose one, I don't care.

As long as it's not me.

What was it?

David Johnson said they should bring back

the office.

I will die on this hill.

That's not eighties.

That's, that's not that long ago.

No.

Yeah.

Right.

And then I think what David Reed is

trying to tell us,

I have no idea what fromage means.

Cheese.

Cheese.

Oh, fromage is French for cheese.

Never forget that David Reed, Doug Reed,

excuse me, sorry, is actually from Canada.

So like,

I'm sure he has at least a basic

working knowledge of French.

And you're Cajun.

So that's based on the French language.

So you understand the, I see.

Fromage, yes, sir.

I found out this weekend that I'm part

Irish and I didn't know that.

But we don't know any, we know potato,

but not cheese.

No.

Potato.

Or the mash and stick them in a

stew.

spelled spelled phonetically for those of

you who don't know that's how they spell

it in mexico where joseph's from spelled

like what i did out behind the house

not not yes yes royale with cheese what

they call a big mac big mac's a

big mac but it's a big mac what

they call the whopper i don't know i

didn't go into burger king that's one of

the best exchanges in movie history

It's the only Tarantino movie that I love.

Bro, it's so good.

I just love it when he goes,

what did he call the Whopper?

He goes, I don't know.

I have no idea.

I didn't go in.

It tickles me to no end.

That's a normal conversation that I would

have with somebody.

I have absolutely no idea.

Yeah, Joey,

I found out at my mom's family reunion

that I was Irish.

The family reunion he attended.

Yeah.

Y'all,

there are certain things that just tickled

me to absolute no end.

And I was listening back to the last

night show this morning as I was getting,

uh,

got into work and was doing some stuff.

And when Scott said a family reunion,

I went to over the weekend,

I about lost my mind.

So I was like,

So yours, your family reunion,

because it'd be like if Joseph was like,

hey,

we crashed a family reunion over the

weekend.

It was awesome.

We just told people that we were there.

We weren't even like, oh, no,

I'm related to Aunt Sally or whatever.

That's what it sounds like.

Well, we know it was actually his.

So what Scott set me straight on is

the fact that he really knew his mom

and about three other people.

So, yeah,

I was trying to explain to Corey,

the reason I'm disconnected from this

family reunion is nobody at this family

reunion is anybody I hung out with ever.

I was the youngest person there.

They are my mom's cousins who I know

one of them because he came to our

house every once in a while.

Right.

And his wife.

But the others,

I didn't meet until I went to the

other family reunion like three years ago.

So let me ask you this.

Mom, I'm thinking about it.

Does that mean it was you and like

a room full of the elderly?

Yeah.

My mom's probably listening,

so I don't want to use terms that

are going to offend my mom.

Yeah, older people.

Yeah.

No big deal.

You should be so lucky.

Whatever you guys got going on on the

side is your business.

I love that dude.

At every event that he's at that I'm

competing at, I spend time.

I probably should be warming up or cooling

down.

He did.

He brought out a new paper street coffee

shirt.

It's sweet.

I need to get,

I need a new paper street coffee shirt.

It's really cool.

I think it's in like an Navy blue.

It's really nice.

Yeah, it was an AARP train.

However, just so you know,

AARP qualification is fifty years old,

which means Corey will qualify in a few

short months.

I've already gotten letters from him

asking me to sign up ahead of time.

Oh, yeah.

I've already gotten letters from him

asking him to sign up.

Yes.

I'm sorry.

Mama Switzer.

I'm not calling you old, baby.

Yeah.

um yeah um i'm getting close i've been

getting emails for years yeah travis said

yes um yeah i literally like from the

minute i turned they were recruiting yeah

dude back in the day when i turned

Go ahead.

When I turned eighteen,

I got two separate free razors from

Gillette as a congratulations for turning

eighteen.

One of them to C-O-R-Y Leonard and one

of them to C-O-R-E-Y Leonard,

both at my mom's address.

And I was like,

I don't even know who this other person

is,

but I'm going to take his free razor

that I'm going to use once every month

at that point because I just didn't need

to shave that often.

Yeah.

What you realize at eighteen is the the

razor itself is not that expensive.

But now they had you because the blades

are five thousand dollars a piece a piece.

It's ridiculous.

I should not have to base my grocery

budget as a young person around the fact

that whether I will or will not be

able to buy a razor blade.

That's insane.

So I bought razor blades literally this

morning and I buy them in a twelve

pack.

because but i have to wait till i

get paid and it's my like non-mortgage

check gotta pay the house note first man

i gotta get a house note gotta come

for anything i shit you not twelve

gillette fusion razor blades forty four

dollars my word that's insane and if you

buy them in smaller packs it's more per

blade yeah i'm with kdl dude you gotta

go electric

I grow,

I need a brush hog if I was

going electric.

I have,

like Robin Williams used to always say,

I have a five o'clock shadow at nine

a.m.

And it is hard stubble.

Most razor blades,

I can't even do my whole face with

them lasting.

These Gillette Fusions,

I can do a couple shaves.

So at least I have that.

One of the ones that's got like seventy

three blades on it.

Five blades.

Six blades.

Twenty two blades.

They just keep adding blades to it.

Turbocharged with the Mach ten engine.

Yeah.

Look at that Birch too.

If I was to endorse a razor blade

for the thick shit, Gillette Fusion.

Oh, we can eat it.

That's a good endorsement.

We can get some of that Gillette money.

I'd take some of that.

Yeah, the blades have blades, Trent.

Yes, the blades have blades.

I actually was at the games and I

needed to shave.

And so I got just a pack of

like the Bic.

It took me like five razors to get

through one shave.

That's also why I keep the little bit

of beard that I got so that I

don't have to worry about doing any of

that shit.

We trim this up.

My monthly trip to my barber,

he cleans up the rest of it and

we call it good.

Yeah.

Awful.

Hate it.

I leave on a, on a happy note.

And then I have a one thirty meeting

and I, if I want to eat,

I better end it up.

Yep.

Yep.

But Corey sent me this thing yesterday and

I just wanted to share the,

every time you say some shit like that,

I'm like,

I sent you a whole bunch of stuff.

That could be one of anything.

If you guys have not seen this.

Oh yeah.

Yeah.

I want to know who would take part

in this.

This is a backyard water.

This place has ten crazy water slides and

slipping slides and half of them have

ramps at the end of them that launch

you into the water.

The biggest waterslide here starts with a

sixty foot high drop and ends with a

ramp that makes all the other ramps look

cute.

And the waterslides that don't end with a

ramp end with a smooth boogie board ride

across the water.

There's also a jumping tower with

platforms that go up to eighty feet high

so you can do things like triple gainers.

And if you don't yet think this water

park is complete,

it has trampolines and diving boards,

this super sketchy rope swing that

requires all of your grip strength.

Oh, and speaking of grip strength,

how could I forget the zip line that

starts at the top of the eighty foot

platform and takes you for a ride that's

around a thousand feet long to the other

side of the water park.

Just as long as you don't fall before

you reach the end.

This is the Redneck Water Park.

I don't know if you heard it,

but the guy said there are only two

rules.

You can't sue me,

and you can't land on your board.

That's it.

That's it.

I am in.

Sign me up.

Train says, heel yeah.

Heel yeah.

Like David Johnson.

I'd get a thousand percent with me,

David Johnson, and a rope swing.

Let's go, brother.

I want this to be my family so

bad.

And then there's someone with some common

sense.

That's a no for me.

That's all right, Mark.

You don't have to go, brother.

Me and David will take.

Me, David, and Winter.

We are on the way.

To all the well-connected,

this show will happily accept a Gillette

sponsorship.

If you know anybody that works in probably

corporate,

some sort of corporate area at Gillette,

Look,

there's plenty of room at the bottom of

this banner.

We could throw some stuff up there and

Gillette would fit right nice.

We even got the little blue stripe looking

thing going on.

I feel like that's very Gillette on brand

type stuff.

Yeah, we can take some Gillette money.

So like I'm all in on the slides.

The eighty foot diving tower.

Hell no.

He'll know.

I'd have to build up to it.

I'll put it to you like that.

I'd have to go off the lower one

first,

and then we'd go off the bigger one

before I went off the top one.

So I've done a ten-meter diving platform.

So that's what, thirty feet?

Thirty-ish feet, yeah.

That's high enough for me.

Eighty is ridiculous.

Ridiculous.

No way in hell.

Like, ten meters, the thirty feet,

you have time to think about life as

you're falling to the pool.

Oh, one hundred percent.

Like,

did I jump off of this thing correctly?

How am I going to land?

Eighty feet,

you'd be able to write half a novel.

Oh, eight.

I mean, you saw him, dude.

Like,

dude did like a triple gainer off of

that.

Like, that's a lot of room to fall.

KDL,

I bet they trade admission for Bush Light.

In.

I will stop and pick up a twelve-pack

on the way.

It's redneck math.

It's probably only sixty feet.

Okay.

I'm good, regardless.

Either way.

Yeah, and I'm going to trade.

I'll slide down,

but I'm not jumping off that height.

No way.

So you have to commit.

You can't just half-ass it.

You got to get to the edge of

the platform, take a deep breath,

and just run and jump off of it.

Because if you kind of half-ass it about,

you're never going to make it off of

it.

You just won't.

Or you'll do what's worse,

catch up right before the end and then

fall.

And you definitely don't want to do that.

Listen.

Here's your physics lesson.

There's tension at the top of the water.

Oh, I know.

That if it's not broken before you get

there, you are breaking it.

And if you enter the water anything less

than straight perpendicular to it,

you are screwed.

Yeah.

You'll be all right.

A little disappointed there's no excavator

spiny swing.

Spinny swing?

Spinny swing.

Yeah, I can read.

I know.

You just choose not to.

That's the whole thing.

Discussion the other day.

And Jay Burch says, Natty, not Bush.

Oh, Natty Light.

All right.

With that, guys,

I got to get going because I need

more than pocket jerky to get me through

the day.

Yeah.

So have a great day, everybody.

We'll be back tomorrow.

And don't forget,

Bailey Maraviglia will be here on

Wednesday to talk Xenon.

With that,

we'll see everybody next time on Lunch

with Clydesdale and Cowboy.

I wouldn't wait to get to the editing

room to jazz me up.

I'm already jazzy.

Lunch with the Clydesdale Cowboy in the

saddle.

Lunch with the Clydesdale Cowboy in the

saddle.

Talking to reps,

real life strength in the battle.

From the gym to the screen, yeah,

we cover it all.

Midday motivation every time we press

call.

Lunch with the Clydesdale Cowboy in the

heat.

CrossFit, movies, music on repeat.

Half hour hustle, yeah,

we building that brand.
