Brought to you by Platinum Standard Grading.

Speaker 0 (0s): This is a Podfire production.

Speaker 2 (13s): It's the highest of standards on the peak we have landed, it's not silver. It's not gold. You want the best take advantage,

Speaker 3 (19s): Go platinum.

Speaker 1 (20s): You know, you want do it platinum. You know, you

Speaker 3 (24s): Wanna do it. Go platinum, platinum, platinum, platinum,

Speaker 4 (28s): Platinum, gentlemen, platinum. Welcome.

Speaker 0 (30s): Welcome.

Speaker 4 (31s): As you might look aware, I'm in a suit today. Well, there's a, there's two reasons I'm in a suit one. I'll drop a name shortly, cuz I like doing that for you guys again. But the gentleman on the end of the table over here is back with us again this week. Obviously we've got pugs next to me and we got Rob and I got some major news from platinum standard grading today. I actually actually started earlier this week. We haven't announced it till today. And that is the man with the big P on his shirt is the new general manager of platinum standard grading. That's a Rob, the Herve.

Speaker 0 (1m 1s): Well that happened quickly. Didn't it? It did. I was here last week and I had an L on my suit

Speaker 4 (1m 6s): P

Speaker 0 (1m 6s): Now got a P so well

Speaker 4 (1m 8s): Has been in the market for a little while, but we just haven't announced anything yet, but we've been working on this behind the scenes. So Rob welcome.

Speaker 0 (1m 13s): Thank you. Yes.

Speaker 4 (1m 15s): It's very exciting news for us since the suit. Yep. That you, the G GM people will say what happened to Chris? We haven't seen him. So we don't

Speaker 0 (1m 23s): Know. We, we heard from him yesterday, left him, left him overseas.

Speaker 4 (1m 27s): Yeah, we just left. No, he's actually in a big jet plane right now. And he's way back as part of the new structure of platinum standard grading. Rob will report into Chris. Who's actually taking a job with media eight, which is our parent company. And he'll be looking after a number of major projects, which we may even announce a couple today just to let people know what's going on. Why wouldn't we? And the fact that PSG is the major sponsor of one of those is something that we'll announce as well. So now I've done that. I'm gonna take my jacket off all the formal stuff's done well, do the coat, but welcome boys.

How are we?

Speaker 0 (1m 59s): Beautiful. We are great. Yeah, we are.

Speaker 4 (2m 2s): And congrats. Rob what's what's your opening sort of statement to the world?

Speaker 0 (2m 7s): Well, I'm really excited to start with no, very excited because it's coming up to a year now that we've had platinum standard grading,

Speaker 4 (2m 14s): It is happy birthday to us.

Speaker 0 (2m 15s): Happy birthday too. A PSG ice cream cake will be forthcoming at some stage

Speaker 4 (2m 20s): Indeed,

Speaker 0 (2m 21s): But it's, it's a real opportunity for me to, to get in some of the skills that I've developed in previous work areas. Yep. And lead a team that I think will make a big difference. And come on, you know, the, the motto for me is always, you know, providing extraordinary service to, to our clients. And that's what I want to continue on and build on what Chris has done.

Speaker 4 (2m 43s): And the reason we've made this change is twofold. One is the fact that Chris has done an amazing job to get us to where we are a hundred percent. Chris is a builder. And he's someone that I brought Chris in originally to all my businesses specifically, cuz he is a risk manager. And the thing with Chris, he looks at things and says no and not many people do that. And the thing I loved about it when we set this up originally was well were gonna do stuff this way. Nah, not a good idea. So we went that way. We're gonna look at doing this and no we're gonna do that. And we actually, they're all very calculated risks that we took to get to where we are now and the good thing.

Now we're in a comfortable position that enables us to bring someone in, to actually manage the process. Now, someone to come in and lead the team and actually grow the business, which is the main reason we've brought you

Speaker 0 (3m 23s): In. Yep. And that's what I'm really excited about too. So I look at it. Chris is in the analogy of a sporting coach. He's come in and done the rebuild he has.

Speaker 4 (3m 31s): He's moved to coaching director,

Speaker 0 (3m 33s): That's it. And I'm gonna take the team to a permission. He's the mark, he's the Mark Jackson. And you're the Steve Kerr. I would've thought that. Yeah, he may. I'd like to be the Lee Matthews I think. Yeah. Triple premiership coming our way. Yeah. Fair enough.

Speaker 4 (3m 45s): So you're the man to lead to the premiership is that

Speaker 0 (3m 47s): We're

Speaker 4 (3m 47s): Doing, that's why

Speaker 0 (3m 48s): We're looking at it. And while we're talking about premierships and all those kind of things. Yes. The local car shop, which is just down the road from the GABA. Yes. Is still a big part of my life. A hundred percent. So we've got Benny Allen in there now, Benny I'll make sure that he sees this one tomorrow. He gets a shout out, but he's a, he's a legend of a guy. So people that head down to the local card shop, they'll probably see Chris or myself in there on a weekend every now and again. But they'll see Ben during the week and Ben will look after him there, but it's, it's been great because as you know, local card shop and PSG collaborated on a couple of things, a hundred percent with the one touches and things like that, that we got brought in and things like that.

So it's been something that we've been working towards and I think it compliments it really well. And

Speaker 4 (4m 27s): As I said, it's not something that was just a decision that we made yesterday. It's something that we've been working towards and felt like it. Yeah. Hat felt like it. Cause it's on. So bloody quick that's it's cards and collectables to join us. Hey yo, Hey yo, do you too champion 2% potty 1 0 1 MC the big Omar has joined us as well. Patrick camera I'm really used this for this cam. McLaren Z speaks the real Hoopsters one. He, a few people,

Speaker 0 (4m 55s): He said the cam that wanted to watch us through the door that we told.

Speaker 4 (4m 57s): Yeah. Shout out to cam Cameron runs our business. No free advertising called require roofing or require business service building services. So big shout out to Kim and look@requirebuilding.com. Are you, if

Speaker 0 (5m 9s): Your roof is stuffed, give

Speaker 4 (5m 10s): Cam is the, when what's rooms is stuffed fluffed buffed.

Speaker 0 (5m 16s): If you roof knocked need buffed. I dunno. We come up with

Speaker 4 (5m 20s): Stuffed. We'll get it buffed. That's it. Ring cam ring cam require building. That's it? Ah, there you go.

Speaker 0 (5m 26s): That's the advert

Speaker 4 (5m 27s): Right there. Here's here's the free ads we don't do.

Speaker 0 (5m 30s): That's

Speaker 4 (5m 30s): Right. So we're gonna question. So will you guys be at the hobby? Hang out in Melbourne. Great question.

Speaker 0 (5m 34s): Not only will we be,

Speaker 4 (5m 35s): We are the made, we are the major sponsor we are. Yeah. I'll be on stage with Tyson

Speaker 0 (5m 40s): Tyson.

Speaker 4 (5m 41s): First, first name drop of the day

Speaker 0 (5m 43s): And, and inhaling wrong. Wrong button. Wrong button. No, no, no, no. It's this one.

Speaker 4 (5m 55s): No, definitely not that one. That one, one,

Speaker 0 (5m 58s): You

Speaker 4 (5m 58s): Know what? Let's just leave all the noises. You just

Speaker 0 (6m 1s): That off. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (6m 2s): We'll just, how about I control the board. Yeah. And you get back to management PSG.

Speaker 0 (6m 6s): Okay. We'll do that.

Speaker 4 (6m 7s): We'll do that. So yeah, we will be in Melbourne next week. It's very exciting

Speaker 0 (6m 11s): Hugs. What's happening when we're in Melbourne,

Speaker 5 (6m 13s): We're going to the hobby hangout. Yeah.

Speaker 0 (6m 14s): And what, what can people do when they get to hobby head?

Speaker 4 (6m 17s): It's our birthday. I can cry no wrong song,

Speaker 0 (6m 19s): Wrong song, but

Speaker 5 (6m 20s): I submit their cards.

Speaker 0 (6m 21s): And how much do they have to pay?

Speaker 5 (6m 23s): It's a free, free their first card. Their first card is free. This guy's crazy. And came up with this random idea. And,

Speaker 4 (6m 30s): But we

Speaker 5 (6m 31s): Agreed. We agreed. Which is the funny thing. Well,

Speaker 0 (6m 33s): Let's, let's be honest. We're just gonna agree with him anyway. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (6m 35s): Always

Speaker 0 (6m 36s): It's his studio. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (6m 38s): Fair enough. Thanks. Very

Speaker 0 (6m 39s): Much. Yep. So the, we will be at the hobby Hangouts. We'll have quite a big presence. Look, we look for the big blue flag indeed. And your first card that you bring in will be free. Just pay postage for your, for your grade. And we've already had some people submitting online. So that's fantastic. So that is the way to go. If you are coming to the hobby hangout, go to PS, grading.net. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (7m 1s): Or psg.cards. Oh, we changed. No, that's another another one. But that's

Speaker 0 (7m 6s): Coming. Here we go. We need a run sheet. I know we need a run sheet,

Speaker 5 (7m 10s): But go to

Speaker 0 (7m 11s): PS, grading.net, go in. And there is a special hobby hangout. Special. The first card is free. The ones after that at $20 each all you've gotta do is pay postage. So it is a nice way to get something out of your ticket to the hobby. Hang out. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (7m 24s): So to justify my craziness, cuz you gotta think I'm nuts anyway was the fact that it's a birthday gift from us to you. That's right. So if you'd like, that's why we do a birthday gift while we're there as well.

Speaker 0 (7m 33s): Ice cream cake Lovewise

Speaker 5 (7m 35s): Or beer. I can't have it anymore. You

Speaker 0 (7m 37s): Can't

Speaker 5 (7m 38s): One time,

Speaker 0 (7m 39s): One time you'll just die.

Speaker 4 (7m 41s): The real hoops is gonna drop his card to us in Melbourne Toga. Awesome. Toga. Look forward to that. Aussie hustle. IG just joined as

Speaker 5 (7m 48s): Well. Hey also when people submit a card, what else do they get?

Speaker 0 (7m 51s): What else do they get? They get their card. Great. They

Speaker 5 (7m 53s): Get, they get a raffle ticket. Oh

Speaker 0 (7m 55s): Sorry. Yes,

Speaker 4 (7m 56s): But you must be there and must have submitted.

Speaker 0 (7m 59s): Well that's the only way you get a raffle

Speaker 4 (8m 0s): Ticket. Indeed. What happens with a raffle ticket?

Speaker 5 (8m 2s): What's the raffle

Speaker 0 (8m 2s): For? Well, somebody's gonna draw the raffle and if that person

Speaker 4 (8m 5s): That could be Tyson back,

Speaker 0 (8m 7s): Tyson,

Speaker 4 (8m 7s): Tyson will shout now to you brother. Can you draw the raffle please?

Speaker 0 (8m 10s): Yeah. Thanks Tyson. Yeah. So the person will get it's 10 cards. Isn't it? 10 card.

Speaker 4 (8m 16s): It's

Speaker 5 (8m 17s): It's the platinum.

Speaker 4 (8m 17s): Yeah. It's the platinum cards grading for life card per

Speaker 0 (8m 20s): Month. One card per month. So 12 card your life for the rest of your life.

Speaker 4 (8m 23s): And I nearly didn't do it this time. Do you know why? Why? Because the kid, the one last time's 12, he's in a little lot older than bloody people like me and you and all that shit. So these kids gonna get

Speaker 0 (8m 34s): A forever. Must be over the age of 70 to enter this one. So

Speaker 4 (8m 38s): Exactly. Okay. We're got a couple questions here for it. Let's go. You. How about the hundred dollars for the five cards deal? It still works out the same.

Speaker 0 (8m 47s): Well, no it doesn't.

Speaker 4 (8m 48s): Doesn't it?

Speaker 0 (8m 49s): Why? Because it's now five cards for 80.

Speaker 5 (8m 52s): Cause you get the first one free.

Speaker 4 (8m 53s): There you go. Even

Speaker 0 (8m 55s): Better. I knows.

Speaker 4 (8m 56s): So if you've already submitted or you done something like that, reach out to Rob P grading do net

Speaker 0 (9m 1s): Rob

Speaker 4 (9m 2s): OV OV.

Speaker 0 (9m 3s): Oh, just Rob, just Rob, just at P we shorten the first name and we've used all the letters of the so I should change my name to Rob Smith, but won't but we won't. Yeah. So, and there's also a question there about the Brisbane hobby hangout.

Speaker 4 (9m 17s): Well, we will be at the Brisbane hobby hangout. Should

Speaker 0 (9m 19s): We make that, that

Speaker 4 (9m 20s): Won't be my birthday. Not my birthday. That won't be the company's birthday.

Speaker 0 (9m 23s): Yeah. Well it kind of will, will it? Yeah. You know, why, why is that? Because in my household, when you have a birthday, you get a month before your birthday, you get a month of your birthday a

Speaker 4 (9m 33s): Month.

Speaker 0 (9m 34s): I'm coming to live at your house. Yeah. But it's only for me hates it. Yeah. She hates it. But I claim the festival of, so I think the first of us will be running. Yeah. I reckon. Okay. Can I make a G call?

Speaker 4 (9m 44s): Great

Speaker 0 (9m 45s): For your life. Okay. GM call. We're gonna do the same deal for people. Hang out at the hobby hangout and for the ones, for the people in Brisbane, because this is a shameless plug for the other half of what I do. Like

Speaker 4 (9m 54s): The card shop.com.

Speaker 0 (9m 55s): Yeah. So to even save on postage, they can, they can use, pick up at local card shop and come in and check us out as well.

Speaker 4 (10m 2s): That's amazing. You're trying to send me broke.

Speaker 0 (10m 4s): What are you talking about? Postage is postage.

Speaker 4 (10m 6s): That was my idea. Wasn't it? Yeah.

Speaker 0 (10m 7s): Was your idea, remember you asked, am I crazy

Speaker 4 (10m 10s): Crazy answer was yes. Yes.

Speaker 0 (10m 12s): So no, definitely in Brisbane. And we'll think about what we do for Sydney, but there'll be something special for the next one in Sydney as well.

Speaker 4 (10m 18s): We will too. Yeah. Let's just make that really clear. So what's gonna happen for our birthday. We're giving a free grading of any card, 35 or 55 point. Just make that clear. Oh yeah. Free. So come and submit with us. All you do is pay for postage to get it back to you. And we won't charge you for the actual grading. You'll still get the full customer service, everything that we do for our 60 day model, which also will now improve. Cause we have a customer service expert as the jam.

Speaker 0 (10m 45s): That's that's my role. We're gonna do it. Beautiful.

Speaker 4 (10m 48s): So we've had a couple of new signups for partners now that you can drop cards off to.

Speaker 0 (10m 53s): We did. We had so GI co is a online retailer Kimco

Speaker 4 (10m 58s): Out of com au.com

Speaker 0 (10m 60s): AU out of run by Dom ZEC shout out Dom, shout out to Dom. One of the great guys in the hobby now, Dom will primarily, well, if you do breaks through his, through his page, that you'll be able to get cards that you hit with him graded, but also any trade fair in Melbourne that's held, he will be our dropoff point in there. We're coming down, obviously for the hobby hangout, but the Melbourne card fair and all the other smaller ones that get done. Excellent do is a massive presence of those. And he's he's, as I said, just one of the good guys.

So,

Speaker 4 (11m 31s): So what's gonna happen. We're gonna make ourselves a lot more visible in these places with these partners. So a lot of the, we, we have signed up a lot of partners so far and we're, we're still going for submission partners and what's gonna happen. We're trying to get to every card show in the country. That's

Speaker 0 (11m 46s): Right.

Speaker 4 (11m 47s): Every hobby show. Yeah. So another one little announcement that Rob's going on a small road trip. Yes what's is it called capric capric con, which is like a ComicCon event, but based outta rock Hampton. Yep. Oh, so that's pretty exciting when I said to Rob why? And he said, because there's 16,000 people go through this event.

Speaker 0 (12m 10s): Yep. It's been running for five years. That's

Speaker 4 (12m 12s): Insane.

Speaker 0 (12m 13s): It is put on by the Queensland state government. So it's a massive event up there in Rockhampton and that's it. Yeah. I'll, I'll be getting dressed up as Spider-Man or something like that. Isn't that what you do when you go to these

Speaker 4 (12m 23s): Things. Oh gee. As long as we've got photos, some latex doing your, your PSG hat with your latex.

Speaker 0 (12m 28s): Yeah. Not happening, but yeah, we'll be up there. That's not that's the week after the hobby hangout. Excellent. Saturday, the 27th. If you're up in the central Queensland area, apparently people come from all over the place. Wow. I tried to get accommodation. There was a little bit of proof of that. Really? Yep. So sleeping in the car. That's

Speaker 4 (12m 45s): All good. That's alright, mate. You're used to that. Yeah. When she keeps you out, Jelly's asked what's the thickest card. You do PS

Speaker 5 (12m 52s): At the moment up to 55. Yeah. Yeah. Hopefully soon that changes, but

Speaker 4 (12m 55s): It will be changing soon. And why, why is that? Didn't you just explain to everyone? Cause we have done one thicker, but wrecked the card. Didn't it? Yeah. Was one of mine. Wasn't a customer's card.

Speaker 5 (13m 4s): Yeah. And it just lot of work to do didn't it didn't encapsulate properly and it just wrecked, it did wreck the card, but it also wreck the plastic.

Speaker 4 (13m 11s): So yeah. So we don't want that. And the thing is that the plastic we use specifically use is based for 35, up to 55 and the new ones as they come out will, will actually go to the next level. I believe in the end we'll have all of them covered. Yeah. But we need to look at different types of plastic at the moment for that. Definitely go green Caso one is also asked any partners on the, on the coast, if that's the gold coast mate. Yeah, we do. We have a number of different partners here on the coast. A lot of stores have shut down on the gold coast over the last couple of weeks.

However, there is, Rob's gonna save the day with a popup shop from local card, shop out Brisbane. He's gonna open up at the Arun store. Yep. So that'll be 52 new Heath at Arun on the gold coast here. So you will be able to drop cards off there on the gold coast.

Speaker 0 (13m 59s): Yep. And if it's the sunshine coast you're talking about, we got collectables up on the sunshine coast who are an amazing bunch of people up there

Speaker 4 (14m 6s): And they're online mean?

Speaker 0 (14m 7s): Yeah. So either way we can, we can cover all the coasts. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (14m 11s): About central coast.

Speaker 4 (14m 12s): Central coast is how Wales I grew up there as a kid. Yeah. We don't have a shop there yet, but my auntie lives in Vale. She could possibly put, no, we won't go there. That was great. But, but there is actually a couple shops on the central coast. They're working on them at the moment to have a chat, see where they become submission partners. And the whole idea here is that we're gonna try and spread this globally. As you boys know, oh, here we go. Anything down on the south coast. So I'm gonna say the south coast down the Iora. I know there was a couple of shops down there where we're talking to.

There was a common

Speaker 5 (14m 44s): Shop. Sunny. Sunny's got his shop down there.

Speaker 4 (14m 46s): Sonny's Sonny's down there. Isn't he sunny?

Speaker 5 (14m 47s): Yeah.

Speaker 4 (14m 48s): So we'll, we're in discussions with him at the moment, mate. We can do that. What's that 2 0 2, 3 kitten play hoops to store

Speaker 0 (14m 55s): That's Toga's shop that Toga that he's gonna be doing

Speaker 5 (14m 58s): One day. We'll get him.

Speaker 4 (14m 59s): We'll get him. The Kaba man.

Speaker 5 (15m 1s): Kaba.

Speaker 0 (15m 1s): Yeah. Toga's a good

Speaker 4 (15m 2s): Bloke. Toga's a great play.

Speaker 5 (15m 3s): He's a man.

Speaker 4 (15m 3s): Yeah. Yeah. And he should become a submission partner. He should. Anything you should don't think when, when Liam who's our business development manager rings Toga this afternoon.

Speaker 0 (15m 13s): That's right.

Speaker 4 (15m 13s): And he answers and doesn't order a CBA, but orders to become a submission partner, Toga should say yes.

Speaker 0 (15m 19s): Well the thing is that it's not for Toga. It's Toga's customers.

Speaker 4 (15m 23s): It is that's right. It's all about the service about

Speaker 0 (15m 25s): The customer's service. And I'm sure Toga would love to give extra ordinary service to his customers.

Speaker 4 (15m 29s): And what's what's Toga's business name. Do you know?

Speaker 0 (15m 32s): I'm gonna go with, throw it to pubs.

Speaker 5 (15m 34s): Maybe the Hills CBA, I think. But I do know he's submitting a bunch of cards at Melbourne, so.

Speaker 4 (15m 40s): Okay. Well maybe what he could do step in is if customers go there and submit to him, he could hand 'em towards in Melbourne. Correct? Well, shout out Toga. Yeah.

Speaker 0 (15m 48s): No, Toga's one of the really good guys of the

Speaker 5 (15m 50s): As well free advent.

Speaker 4 (15m 52s): We've got couple other guys here. This is great feedback. Excellent. Gold coast. Yeah. Great cards are market JCS. Are there? Yeah. They're one of our biggest submission partners. How, how did I, you miss JCS? Hopefully they're not online in it in trouble.

Speaker 5 (16m 6s): Yeah. Sorry Johnny.

Speaker 4 (16m 8s): And then we've got, that's the woo and gone ones. We'll talk to Fanno zone. We prob I think that's who we have spoke to and no worries at all. CUSO one, but yeah, JCS. I just wanna give him a massive wrap, right? Come on. Because you've got a husband and wife team that work their ass off absolutely. In the shed, which it is. That's

Speaker 0 (16m 28s): What it is.

Speaker 4 (16m 28s): It's a shed in the markets. And by far that I know, and this is my facts. No one else's, they're probably one of the biggest Pokemon dealers in Queensland in the

Speaker 0 (16m 38s): Country. And it's again, very similar to the way I think about customer service for them. It's all about the experience that their customers get.

Speaker 4 (16m 47s): And John,

Speaker 0 (16m 48s): John

Speaker 4 (16m 49s): In a skin type Pokemon,

Speaker 0 (16m 51s): He does, he does love his

Speaker 4 (16m 53s): Pokemon. Oh, go back every week. It's sensational.

Speaker 0 (16m 55s): He wears a Pokemon shirt and the PSG hat every week. Love it.

Speaker 4 (16m 58s): Love it. Big shout out to, to the guys down at JCS at Carrara markets. Yep. So we got another announcement. Oh, full of announcements. They must be the suit jacket. Yeah. Must be. So there was on, it was med last night. It was a couple of days early. Thanks to our friend at the rollers. Yeah. But it was mentioned last night that we are heading up a bid on the gold coast for a new NBL team. Come on. Platinum standard. Grading is the official partner and he's the official sponsor of that. How good is the I've I've taken the lead of that.

So hence I'll be stepping back from a few other things, but we're in discussions with the NBL. We put out a bit of a piss take last night with Brony Brony James coming to the gold coast in the background. If you look closer, you'll see my head in Chris's head right next to LeBron, but we're having a bit of fun with it on the way. But the big thing we're after is everyone to join on the bandwagon and see what we can do. So we wanna shout out to all the, the PSG customers and fans to jump onto GC, tropics.com and register your interest there.

GC tropics will be the current bid name. We're not sure whether that'll be the end name when we actually get the NBA license. But one thing that people don't know yet is we've actually got a number of NBA players, 10 in total that are going to invest in the team. As soon as we get the license, that's sick. I've had that confirmed in writing last night that we will have MBA players confirmed as owners of the club. Yes. Once we get the license, but the caveat is we have to get the license, obviously.

So we want

Speaker 0 (18m 34s): Everyone, nothing.

Speaker 4 (18m 34s): We want everyone pushing, sign

Speaker 0 (18m 36s): Up,

Speaker 4 (18m 36s): Sign up. We want everyone pushing and pushing and pushing the NBL to actually try and get the basketball back on the gold coast. And at the other part we're gonna be doing, we're gonna be bringing out some merch, right? Some gold coast, tropics merch, anyone who's seen semi-pro yeah. That's what we're taking. That's the piss take we're trying to do here. And the whole point of it is so we have a bit of fun whilst we do it

Speaker 0 (18m 55s): Is Jackie moon. One of the owners tell you moon, you're definitely gonna be

Speaker 4 (18m 58s): Playing I 100% guarantee. If I'm not gonna say, you're gonna say, when we get the license and we launch, I'm gonna bring Jackie moon out to Australia to launch the first game. You heard it here first that's guaranteed.

Speaker 0 (19m 11s): I'll tell you what last week we said you were mad when you offered a free car

Speaker 4 (19m 14s): To everyone, but we are, we're gonna bring Jackie moon out to Australia to actually launch the, the tropics. Once we get the BL. That

Speaker 0 (19m 22s): Is absolutely awesome. You heard it here first?

Speaker 4 (19m 24s): Heard it here first. Not second.

Speaker 0 (19m 26s): I will definitely keep into that one because

Speaker 4 (19m 28s): Oh mate, how much fun would it be? So yeah, we, we started discussions yesterday with his management team. Yep. And to book him, to come out, tell you what, he's not cheap, but at the same

Speaker 0 (19m 39s): Will, Ferrell's not cheap. You're telling us that

Speaker 4 (19m 41s): Moon. I'm talking about. No will. Oh,

Speaker 0 (19m 43s): Sorry. Jackie moon will. Ferrell's a real person. Yeah. That's about Jackie moon's but Jackie moon, who's a, obviously an NBA superstar

Speaker 4 (19m 49s): Hundred percent. He was at the all star weekend. Yep.

Speaker 0 (19m 52s): And you're telling me you're surprised is not cheap.

Speaker 4 (19m 54s): Yeah, no, I wasn't surprised. Okay,

Speaker 0 (19m 55s): Good.

Speaker 4 (19m 57s): Okay. We've got some more questions here. Is there any way I can check cards that have been sent in, like where they're up to, this is something that we're actually, we were talking about this week. So Rob, what are we doing? Yeah,

Speaker 0 (20m 7s): Look, that is one of the things that is, is my first charter really is to improve that aspect of the customer experience so that you will be able to log in and just see when it'll, it'll log as received and, and researched it'll log as graded. And then it'll log. The third one will be that it's been posted out to you. That's awesome. At the moment we, we have identified that there's a little bit of a gap in that early part of the process. And it is something that is really, really important to me that we get that part. Right. So that definitely people we had, and it was great feedback from one of our

Speaker 4 (20m 38s): Customers online. And that's the bit I like about it is the customers actually ask for it. And so therefore the first thing you've done has gone Australian and done it. So

Speaker 0 (20m 44s): Yeah. So I spoke to that guy in particular that reached out on Facebook, asking where he was up to. And I, I thought to myself, why doesn't he know? Yep. And, and that's fine because if we don't find this stuff out, we

Speaker 4 (20m 54s): Can't fix, we can't fix it. Exactly. Yeah.

Speaker 0 (20m 56s): So we certainly, we want every person to have an, an extraordinary experience. So let's get that. Right. But that will be, I would say within the first three or four weeks, we should be out of me being here now.

Speaker 4 (21m 5s): So you're already one week in

Speaker 0 (21m 7s): To couple weeks to go I'll I'll get that done. That's that's something I'm very keen on.

Speaker 4 (21m 11s): I'll give you that one mince said, I generally thought you guys were kidding that sick. Yeah. No, we're definitely not kidding mate. We've been working on this for a very long time and the other reason I'm in my suit, the second name drop of the day I met with mayor Tom Tate today, you got the, and to get, to get the council behind us. And the council are really keen for us to, to pursue

Speaker 0 (21m 33s): This. Well, it was on channel nine news last

Speaker 4 (21m 34s): Night. It was on channel nine news last night saying that that we'd actually, this is where they jumped the gun. So thanks to John McGinness. Bastar from gold coast basketball and you'd

Speaker 0 (21m 44s): Luck to Joel tomorrow night

Speaker 4 (21m 45s): As well. Oh, a hundred percent mate. We'll be there in our media. Eight box cheering them on. Come on. The gold coast rollers are in the, I think it's preliminary final or semifinal tomorrow night in the BL one, which is pretty awesome. They've had top of the table. We've had a great year. That's cause we sponsored tomorrow. That's right. Yeah. But well,

Speaker 0 (22m 2s): They heard there's a new BL team coming.

Speaker 4 (22m 3s): They did. They're on the play.

Speaker 0 (22m 4s): Real

Speaker 4 (22m 5s): Good. They're all getting excited. Another the questionnaire from Casa one, will there be a separate grading for the auto, if we're submitting auto cards really, really simply. I'm gonna answer this one. No. Yeah, no, I don't. The only way we will either authorize or authenticate autograph is the fact if it's done by JSA and there's a sticker on the back of the card like they do for us, or if we actually physically present, present while they're signing it. So we were with a couple of guys in the us there, Gary Chu.

There we go. Thank you very much. You

Speaker 0 (22m 38s): Did drop his name last week

Speaker 4 (22m 39s): Too. I did three, four times last week. That's right. No, but the thing we saw the signature happen, we got photos of the signature. So we're more than happy to authenticate that. No other auto will be authenticated.

Speaker 0 (22m 47s): One of the things with that is that most of the cards, if they're, if they're an autograph card, that's come from the manufacturer, they will be authenticated on the card. So if people are looking for a grade of the auto, we don't want to downplay a card because there might be a slight smudge on an auto or something like that. So we leave the auto alone. Yep. If somebody has a IP in person signature on a card and they want to have that authenticated as well, just reach out to me, we will sort it out and we'll help them get that done through JSA. The process will take a little bit longer, but we will help them get that process done through JSA.

And we will, we will sort that out right through the inform.

Speaker 4 (23m 23s): We've just had a whole heap of stuff. Come back ourselves from JSA and blue did an amazing job down there. He's the only one in Australia that represents JSA and the letters we got back from the us that's right. Yeah. Which was really interesting as well. Yeah. So we got our letters, we got all our authentication. So that was, that was pretty

Speaker 0 (23m 38s): Cool. Yeah. So we can do that for people if they want that

Speaker 4 (23m 40s): Done a hundred percent obviously for a fee,

Speaker 0 (23m 42s): Obviously for a fee. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (23m 44s): So parks what's been been happening in the grading world this week. What? He, I saw something today, come through the door, Rob's running with it. And only the fact that Chris wasn't here otherwise wouldn't he, he would've been very excited. That was Andrew. Anyhow. That's right.

Speaker 0 (23m 57s): Day.

Speaker 4 (23m 57s): Oh yeah. What, what else is coming that's that's worth looking at.

Speaker 5 (24m 1s): There's been a big mixture of everything. Actually. There's been some awesome, like Ty Halliburton, autos, Anthony Edwards, rookies. Lots of MJ from

Speaker 0 (24m 13s): Bit a fair bit of Marvel too.

Speaker 5 (24m 14s): Yeah. And there was quite a bit of Marvel.

Speaker 4 (24m 16s): We've seen like a pattern yet. Like we've been opening a year now. Right. And we, as, as you sort of go along, you see these patterns, that form, like when I think it's the NFL, when the NFL's playing, we get more NFL cards when, but I find that we get basketball all the time. Is that right?

Speaker 5 (24m 31s): Yeah. It's pretty much all the time. I think that's cuz we're in Australia. We don't really,

Speaker 4 (24m 35s): We don't have an off season. Ah, okay. Fair enough.

Speaker 0 (24m 38s): But also too, with here, we seem to have seen a lot of MJ magic Johnson come through of late. So it might be people having look at their PCs and picking out what they want have graded. Yeah. No, in that off season while they're having a look at that stuff.

Speaker 4 (24m 49s): Well the big announcement came out this week. The tops are gonna do the BL card. So massive shout out to Jeremy lowlier who's the commissioner of the BL who wants to be my new best friend to help us with our license application? No, but the big, big shout out to the BL, they did a great job getting tops on board with that. And hopefully we get to see some really good quality cards.

Speaker 0 (25m 7s): It does bring an interesting question up though with tops because obviously tops are now owned by fanatics fanatics. Yep. And we know that tops have put their toe in the Australian market trying to get licenses before. So now fanatics are behind it. It will be very interesting to see what comes up with future.

Speaker 4 (25m 22s): So do we think select are gone?

Speaker 0 (25m 24s): I wouldn't say that. No. Hell no. I mean select

Speaker 4 (25m 26s): Could answer Rob

Speaker 0 (25m 27s): 30 years, selective been really 30 years have been select, this is their 30th release this year, 30th year

Speaker 4 (25m 33s): Of release. Congratulations. That's massive

Speaker 0 (25m 34s): Is massive. So you cannot under any circumstances, you know, discount that, that is an amazing thing. But you know, times change and I'm I guess, I guess it's a good thing even if, well, I'll say when select get the license again, it's a good thing that there's other companies out there that

Speaker 4 (25m 50s): Agree a hundred percent

Speaker 0 (25m 51s): Because it keeps the quality up. Otherwise, you know, we go into a

Speaker 5 (25m 54s): Situation,

Speaker 0 (25m 55s): Panini, look what happened to panini? Have a look what happened in Australia to UR? I think the less said about future the better. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (26m 3s): But they, they are, they they've shut down there. Oh heck yeah.

Speaker 0 (26m 5s): They, they shut down a long time.

Speaker 4 (26m 7s): A great surfing cards.

Speaker 0 (26m 8s): They did fantastic surfing. They did great NBL cards. Cricket, cricket

Speaker 5 (26m 12s): Had awesome stuff.

Speaker 0 (26m 13s): Yeah. So the companies that had the monopoly over cricket and soccer cards in Australia for a while, they've gone because there was no competition. So the product wasn't as good. Yeah. So I think it's a wonderful thing to see that there's trading card companies, worldwide massive companies that want get in Australia. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (26m 30s): That's huge for the league. It's huge for people actually building a fan base, cuz you're gonna get cards now and people will start chasing sets and then you'll start understanding who they're like Maul maker today signed with a Sacramento. Yep. Hey, I think it, it was Sacramento. That's awesome. I might go there wrong. Yeah. But he signed with it and Washington. It was sorry.

Speaker 0 (26m 48s): Oops. Oh the other

Speaker 4 (26m 48s): SA the other Sacramento. Yeah. Yeah.

Speaker 0 (26m 50s): Seen the Washington

Speaker 5 (26m 51s): Side. One's on one side of the

Speaker 4 (26m 52s): It's the it's the Eastern Sacramento too. Yeah. But yeah, no, he signed with Washington today on a, on a 10 game deal. I think it was. Oh yeah. That's which is awesome. Cuz that kid is an unbelievable basketball player who was number one from high school, but then made some decisions around the whole black lives matters piece and went to number 99, then never got a gig. So for him to actually get a gig, it's probably two years after when he would've normally is awesome. And he's gonna rip it up over there, mate, that kid's got so much skill. It's insane. But imagine

Speaker 0 (27m 21s): If we had these cards three years ago, we'd have people around the world focusing on Australian cards. Hundred percent Lalo ball cards in there. Yeah. Yeah, exactly. And they'll keep the cards relevant for a little while because the, the next gen pro program is something that will continue on. Well, Brony Brony will be here. So cause Bro's coming to the gold

Speaker 4 (27m 37s): Coast Bronys coming to the gold ghost. Oh yeah. Completely stuffed that up yesterday. Didn't I actually put a Brony supporter group as opposed to Brony on the, on the message that I put out on Instagram. Yeah. It felt like a bit of a Dick, but anyway, moving on

Speaker 5 (27m 50s): Three post it it's all good.

Speaker 4 (27m 51s): Yeah. I I'll call him out Bronys coming to the gold coast. Oh yeah.

Speaker 0 (27m 55s): Yeah. If he doesn't

Speaker 4 (27m 56s): There was a rumor. Did you hear the rumor? I started it, but it's still a rumor. No matter if you started or not, isn't it. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (28m 2s): It is. Why heard it? I

Speaker 4 (28m 3s): Heard it. There we go. So at least I was honest and said I started the rumor. Yeah, that's right. Yeah. Not like some of the news channels on the gold coast that made up shit to put on the TV last night before it actually happened.

Speaker 0 (28m 15s): Whatever it's out there now.

Speaker 4 (28m 16s): Advertising. Good marketing. Yeah. Geez. Okay. Another message here. Keep in mind. The last time ML had cards, we didn't have a social network. That's actually a really good call. Yeah, because he

Speaker 0 (28m 29s): Said that Toga's, that's Toga. Toga's on,

Speaker 4 (28m 32s): You know what? G TGA would be a good partner for us to actually get submissions done with, with knowledge like that.

Speaker 0 (28m 39s): Maybe

Speaker 4 (28m 39s): We should just, that's what we

Speaker 0 (28m 40s): Need. Maybe we should just fly him up here and get him to work in marketing or something. Well, or

Speaker 4 (28m 43s): We, we could get him remote. We could dial him into the podcast.

Speaker 0 (28m 46s): Toga. What are you doing? What's your number remote.

Speaker 4 (28m 49s): No, it actually is really true. Like if you look at what happens now with, I

Speaker 0 (28m 52s): Think Toga's ringing because PSS phone has just got a voicemail.

Speaker 5 (28m 55s): It's probably cuz my car's at the service center. So oops,

Speaker 0 (28m 58s): Oopsies.

Speaker 4 (28m 58s): You're on podcast. Yeah. But the, but the big thing there is that yeah, there wasn't a social network. Like a lot of stuff now is done via obviously Facebook and all these other whatnot. Do you know much about whatnot?

Speaker 0 (29m 9s): I know that's huge

Speaker 4 (29m 10s): Mate in the us 20 billion massive now. Yeah. It was

Speaker 0 (29m 13s): Unbelievable. Not a year

Speaker 4 (29m 14s): Ago. Yeah. It was just insane. Insane. But places like that and things like that, you'll actually find that, that this thing will spread. And the, if you, if we get like say Travis, who's gonna play this year for Perth again. Yep. Even though he is got a contract with the calves, they're gonna be able to see cards of him before he gets,

Speaker 0 (29m 31s): Before he gets

Speaker 4 (29m 32s): Into there. So does that make any his rookie card or does that make a pre rookie card over there or he cause he played here last year. That's interesting.

Speaker 5 (29m 41s): Yeah. Maybe like an XRC.

Speaker 0 (29m 43s): I think it'll be something like you. I think, I think it'll be his rookie card, but you could look at major league baseball like that. Yep. So Fernando TA who's a massive deal at the Padres. Everyone wants his 2019 rookie cards, but no one really talks about his 2016 rookie cards in a white Sox uniform.

Speaker 4 (30m 3s): Why?

Speaker 0 (30m 4s): Because he was nothing. Then he was a prospect.

Speaker 4 (30m 7s): Interesting. Well that's like ya cards. They used to burn 'em didn't they?

Speaker 5 (30m 10s): Yes we did. Oh no. We used to use 'em as packaging to protect other cards.

Speaker 4 (30m 14s): There's all these people out there. You sent cards to us and they, wow. It's worth the fortune.

Speaker 0 (30m 18s): Yeah. Packaging to save a $2 card. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (30m 20s): With the

Speaker 5 (30m 22s): Gianni at that time was like a 50 cent card,

Speaker 4 (30m 24s): But why was it?

Speaker 5 (30m 25s): Oh, cuz he didn't really do much in his rookie year. He was kind of just,

Speaker 0 (30m 29s): But even, even Donovan Mitchell. Yeah. The amount of Donovan, Mitchell cards being a jazz fan that I bought in the first six weeks of that season for next to nothing people giving him away almost. And I swear to God, those people are hunting me down and I cannot be found

Speaker 4 (30m 41s): You can now. Cause I'm

Speaker 0 (30m 43s): PSG. Yeah. But I'm only a little fellow I can hide in the shadows. You can. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (30m 47s): Same with Luca European. I suppose. They'll probably do that. Won't they they'll actually do like an Australia, but when you get to the,

Speaker 0 (30m 54s): It'll be an NBA rookie card. Cause at the end of the day it is still an NBA rookie card.

Speaker 4 (30m 59s): Yeah. Fair point fair point. Yes. For real Madrid. Not sure what that was a question about.

Speaker 0 (31m 5s): I don't know PSG all the way,

Speaker 4 (31m 7s): But yeah,

Speaker 0 (31m 9s): If we're talking about European soccer, we support PSG proudly

Speaker 4 (31m 12s): Here. So that was one big thing we saw in the us. The soccer cards now are making a massive impact. Okay. From local cards as well. Yep.

Speaker 0 (31m 20s): Absolutely been blown away with the interest in soccer cards and the quality

Speaker 4 (31m 24s): Just EPL or is it

Speaker 0 (31m 25s): No heck no.

Speaker 4 (31m 27s): Is it cause they're tops cards. Cause they're a better quality.

Speaker 0 (31m 29s): I got a funny feeling. That's got a lot to do, but, but Mosa. Oh quality's amazing. But mosaic.

Speaker 4 (31m 33s): Okay.

Speaker 0 (31m 34s): Mosaic now have EPL. They have the Euro from last year and they've got a road to the world cup coming out for mosaic. Prism is, is massive. Still. Yeah. Prison world cup cards seem to be yeah. The, you know the bomb every, every year everyone wants them. But the tops, I, I know that. I think we had three or four Ian shout out to Ian who comes into the local card shop. Scottish premier league cards. Oh really? I, I literally bought them as a piss take. I thought,

Speaker 4 (32m 1s): You know, is Anne didn't

Speaker 0 (32m 2s): They Aussie? And I thought, no, I didn't know.

Speaker 4 (32m 4s): Is he in there? Do we

Speaker 0 (32m 5s): Know? I'll find out. But no, I thought, you know, Aussie is a little bit of interest in Scottish premier league. And I had to keep ordering more in because people

Speaker 4 (32m 13s): Because they kept

Speaker 0 (32m 14s): On it. Yeah. I literally put it on the socials and we had three people wanting to buy the one box. So that's awesome.

Speaker 4 (32m 20s): So yeah. Mid saying here, even the last two months, soccer's had a massive uptake as well. Yep. Jelly. Yeah. Luca played for real Madrid.

Speaker 5 (32m 27s): Oh there we go. So

Speaker 4 (32m 28s): What's the and realized Luca played soccer. No, sorry.

Speaker 0 (32m 31s): You played with messy.

Speaker 4 (32m 33s): He was messy. Oh yeah. Because the world cups in November, people are getting in now cuz they'll be graded in time. Yeah. Good point that if it is in November, if you use our 60 day service still, you can still get it back before the world cup. That's right. But if you wanna use the 10 day service, which is a little bit more expensive, you can make sure you get it back.

Speaker 0 (32m 49s): Oh, you'll get it back in nine. There,

Speaker 4 (32m 50s): There we go. And the same as the other ones that we found interesting with WWE. Yep. You getting many of them in

Speaker 5 (32m 57s): There's been a few of them have been yours actually. Well, yeah, but we have had a few of like the nicer gold ones and

Speaker 4 (33m 5s): Yeah. There's a really nice card. They seem to the golds.

Speaker 0 (33m 8s): Yeah. All the retro.

Speaker 4 (33m 10s): Oh yeah. A hundred

Speaker 0 (33m 10s): Percent. I've seen a fair few of the retro come through. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (33m 12s): Yeah. And then what about non sporting cards? So what like all the ones we picked up in the us and stuff like that and no, we

Speaker 0 (33m 21s): Haven't seen many, you know what? We don't see those in Australia. Come on Australia.

Speaker 5 (33m 25s): Like get

Speaker 0 (33m 26s): Your finger out and start collecting some strange stuff.

Speaker 5 (33m 29s): Agree. Stranger things. There you go.

Speaker 0 (33m 31s): Stranger things. Well in the local car shop, stranger thing, cart, stranger things. Carts have been massive. I,

Speaker 4 (33m 36s): Yeah. What's the other weird one that people buy the time out storm. Is it desert storm, man? Is it

Speaker 0 (33m 41s): Storm?

Speaker 4 (33m 41s): It's it's unbelievable. Isn't it? Like? It is something different

Speaker 0 (33m 44s): And you know what? I forgot the chewing arm.

Speaker 4 (33m 46s): Oh the challenge.

Speaker 0 (33m 46s): Oh the pack. The packets are sitting on the, on the desk at local

Speaker 4 (33m 50s): Car shop. Oh, we'll have to get that one up next week. Cuz now you're officially on the show every week.

Speaker 0 (33m 53s): Yes. I'll have to. I'll take the chewing arm.

Speaker 4 (33m 56s): You will. You'll have to get the chewing gum challenge. What's the nicest and rarest card you're graded so far. I'm gonna give that one to you. PS

Speaker 5 (34m 4s): Rare. Oh, well we've had a nicest one at once.

Speaker 0 (34m 6s): Yeah. But what about the one that came in on our express service a couple weeks

Speaker 5 (34m 9s): Ago? Oh the, yeah. That jam dons optic

Speaker 0 (34m 13s): Donus optic rookie, rookie

Speaker 5 (34m 14s): Auto Jersey. Number 12 of 1 49 or something. Absolutely amazing. Ah, lots. I wouldn't. Yeah. Lots.

Speaker 4 (34m 23s): Lots of zeros. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (34m 25s): Lots of, yeah.

Speaker 0 (34m 25s): There'd be a few zeros in that one. A couple, but it was just a bloody nice looking card. The grade on it came up. Okay.

Speaker 5 (34m 32s): Yeah. Had a bit of surface issue, but

Speaker 0 (34m 34s): Because it had the optic surface issue. So that that's one of the nicest cards I've seen come through the

Speaker 4 (34m 38s): Door. And what about the weest card? You've done

Speaker 5 (34m 43s): The weirdest card. Well, it depends on if you want who's that LA Liz cam

Speaker 4 (34m 50s): Love or good lose

Speaker 5 (34m 51s): Cam. That funny card that you got

Speaker 4 (34m 54s): Was a gift for

Speaker 5 (34m 54s): Weirdest card.

Speaker 0 (34m 56s): Do you know what I can't

Speaker 5 (34m 57s): Say. We really had that. What about the bill

Speaker 0 (34m 58s): Clinton? We did a bill Clinton card. Bill

Speaker 5 (35m 1s): Clinton done a couple of Donald Trump's.

Speaker 4 (35m 3s): Did I have a black dress in it?

Speaker 0 (35m 4s): No. No, but there was a stain on the car. So it only graded a six. No, I dunno. It was terrible. That's shocking. It's a terrible,

Speaker 4 (35m 12s): It wasn't bad joke.

Speaker 0 (35m 14s): I went to Chris rock on Monday night and he had so many Hillary Clinton jokes. It wasn't funny. And

Speaker 4 (35m 18s): I think we've heard 'em all this

Speaker 5 (35m 19s): Wasn't funny or it

Speaker 0 (35m 20s): Was well, no, they, they were funny. It's Chris

Speaker 5 (35m 24s): Rockets. Of course. It's funny.

Speaker 0 (35m 25s): Yeah. And then one woman started racing around this place. She was, I don't know. She was on something yelling at Trump, 2024, Trump, 2024 and then security tackled her and she goes, yeah, no I've been ejected. She's she's gone.

Speaker 4 (35m 39s): You gotta love a good Chris rock track. That's it. But jelly like Batman in the sixties TV show a hundred percent. Oh

Speaker 0 (35m 45s): We, we do have a do have a bit of those. Yeah. We've done a few of those of those Batman cards. 60 seventies, Batman

Speaker 4 (35m 51s): Shitty bang, bang

Speaker 0 (35m 52s): Jelly. 15. Why

Speaker 4 (35m 54s): That's jelly.

Speaker 0 (35m 54s): Who's

Speaker 4 (35m 55s): Jelly. I no idea, but that's

Speaker 0 (35m 56s): Jelly. Get in touch with Rob OV P grading.net. Just Roby. Mark is his name. Rob OV Rob don't stop confusing people, but, or just, you know, I don't know. Find us somehow. Get it. Get through to us on Facebook and mate. I wanna see Chitty bang, bang cards.

Speaker 4 (36m 11s): That would be awesome

Speaker 0 (36m 12s): Mate. That's the kind of stuff Rob likes. Bob's now talking about himself in the third person. Here

Speaker 4 (36m 16s): We go. Got an on card auto museum signature series, rookie card. Mike Evans to 49 might be heading away in the near future.

Speaker 0 (36m 23s): Mike Evans he's he has really like Mike Evans was my,

Speaker 4 (36m 27s): He used to host that perfect matcher.

Speaker 0 (36m 30s): I knew you say with the compatibility. Next one. He's Mike Evans. Mike Evans is a wide receiver. I think for the, we might be running back. He's a player for Tampa bay. He's a footballer. He's a NFL player. He's an NFL player. But no, I know again, coming through, we see a lot of his cards coming through because he has really taken off in the last few years as well.

Speaker 4 (36m 53s): Okay. So

Speaker 0 (36m 54s): Yeah, no, bring that, send that one in for

Speaker 4 (36m 56s): Sure. Have we mentioned Toga today yet?

Speaker 0 (36m 58s): No, I dunno.

Speaker 4 (36m 59s): So to Graham, our potential new submission partner has just said I have OT cards coming your way. OT,

Speaker 0 (37m 6s): OT.

Speaker 4 (37m 8s): Motu

Speaker 0 (37m 9s): A little motu I dunno. That was an ad.

Speaker 4 (37m 11s): Dunno what? That means.

Speaker 0 (37m 12s): What's OTU jelly send 'em through Instagram mate. Send 'em through. Yeah. I told you was a wide receiver. Why didn't I bloody? I should have

Speaker 4 (37m 19s): Just gone fucking ears. Wide receiver. I should

Speaker 0 (37m 21s): Just

Speaker 4 (37m 22s): Stayed. Cause you were confident. You could have just continued and no one would've said a word.

Speaker 0 (37m 26s): No, no. We needed Liam here for that one.

Speaker 4 (37m 27s): We did. We did masters of the universe.

Speaker 0 (37m 30s): Oh, oh, of course. Oh.

Speaker 4 (37m 33s): So unfortunately

Speaker 0 (37m 34s): I'm too old for that.

Speaker 4 (37m 35s): You gotta love a good masters to the universe.

Speaker 0 (37m 37s): Yeah. Did you watch those again?

Speaker 4 (37m 38s): I did.

Speaker 0 (37m 39s): Did you just notice last week was George Jetson's birthday was his actual card. Oh yeah. The day he was born. How was George? What? Zero. Yeah, he's a couple. He's like a week old now.

Speaker 4 (37m 47s): So was he born? He's in 2022.

Speaker 0 (37m 49s): Yeah. 31st of all after July

Speaker 4 (37m 50s): George Jetson. Yeah. He's boy.

Speaker 0 (37m 52s): I reckon there's gotta be Jetson's cards.

Speaker 4 (37m 54s): That'd be cool. We should go on a mission for Jetson's cards. That'd

Speaker 0 (37m 58s): Be sick.

Speaker 4 (37m 58s): So I think what we should do now is shout out to all these people and I'm gonna get crazy again.

Speaker 0 (38m 3s): No, I, I know where you're going cuz I was, where am I going? I reckon if someone can present us with a Jetsons card,

Speaker 4 (38m 8s): A Jetson's card in the next seven days in the next yeah. Before the next podcast. Yep. We'll grade it for free.

Speaker 0 (38m 13s): Yep. We'll grade it for free. So,

Speaker 4 (38m 14s): And I'll pay the postage they've

Speaker 0 (38m 15s): Got yep. A no I'll walk it to the post office. There we go.

Speaker 4 (38m 18s): We go. But it has to be George,

Speaker 0 (38m 21s): A George jets,

Speaker 4 (38m 23s): George Jetson

Speaker 0 (38m 24s): Card. And so send us a drop drop us note through Instagram, Facebook, or any of the socials and show us your card. And if you're the first one in, we will give you a free grade. I reckon that's

Speaker 4 (38m 32s): Awesome of that George Jetson

Speaker 0 (38m 33s): Card card of that George Jetson card.

Speaker 4 (38m 34s): But we must be able to use it for advertising and marketing purposes.

Speaker 0 (38m 37s): I would've done

Speaker 4 (38m 37s): That anyway. I'm just gonna terms

Speaker 0 (38m 39s): Of conditions apply. Yeah, no postage free post.

Speaker 4 (38m 42s): I have all sorts of cards. You better look through 'em then if you you're gonna find George Jetson, I love

Speaker 0 (38m 47s): If we get like 20 George Jetson cards, I will do 'em all. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (38m 50s): Much. Love a good George Jetson.

Speaker 0 (38m 53s): We got one free George Jackson,

Speaker 4 (38m 56s): The big give away the birthday. Give me everyone gets a grade, but you get, you get a grade first.

Speaker 0 (39m 3s): That's right. I love it. Oprah styles. I love

Speaker 4 (39m 5s): It. That's awesome. So what else is going on this week? Glad

Speaker 0 (39m 10s): Preparing for hobby hangout. Yeah. Mostly preparing for hobby hangout. It's only next weekend, which is crazy. Oh

Speaker 4 (39m 15s): No. It's so we're, we're flying down Saturday to get prepared because last time JS got stuck trying to leave same date. So that won't, that won't happen.

Speaker 0 (39m 24s): Favorite struck again?

Speaker 4 (39m 25s): Yeah, exactly. So we, we are gonna be leaving Saturday. We're actually gonna be going to the 40 to watch

Speaker 0 (39m 33s): Richmond and Esk that's

Speaker 4 (39m 35s): So if anyone's around in Melbourne the night before, we're probably gonna have a beer somewhere around there beforehand. So if you wanna come along, see any of the boys in the G I'll buy you a beer.

Speaker 0 (39m 44s): That's right. Let's

Speaker 4 (39m 45s): Do that before they I'll taste the beer and tea. What it's worth. Yeah, this

Speaker 0 (39m 49s): Is a 10.

Speaker 4 (39m 50s): No, but we will. Let's try and catch up with some of the people while we're in Melbourne before maybe during and after you guys. I now leaving that night. So maybe the Saturday, the Saturday evening, if anyone's got anything on well we'll, we'll let everyone know next Thursday when we do the podcast where we gonna be and what time we're gonna meet. Yep. But let's, let's do it on the walk down to

Speaker 0 (40m 9s): Walk down to the G. If

Speaker 4 (40m 10s): You down to the G

Speaker 0 (40m 10s): If you got cards to trade let's trade.

Speaker 4 (40m 12s): Well, we gonna trade as well.

Speaker 0 (40m 14s): A

Speaker 4 (40m 14s): Little trade evening at the pub before the

Speaker 0 (40m 16s): Footy. Now one of the greatest things about pugs is his, his old school, original trade mindset.

Speaker 4 (40m 22s): Sid's cards and collectibles. Do you guys need a driver? Depends on being a Knight. These,

Speaker 0 (40m 30s): We go to the duke of welling pub beforehand. We will definitely need a driver. I

Speaker 4 (40m 35s): Can drive, but yeah, while listen next week guys, and we'll let you know exactly where we're gonna be and what we're gonna be doing whilst we're in Melbourne on the Saturday ARVO early evening. Yep. It'd be great to catch up with you. Many of you as possible. And then obviously on the Sunday at the show, come and see us. We'll have all our signs up. We'll have the big blue flag. We've now got blue table cloths. Hey, look at us. Moving up in the world. I tell you what I'm gonna do as well on the day is we're gonna have on display. Now we normally have some slabs. I'm gonna have our whole Tyson Beck collection.

That's been S slapped so far, which is the bit of Josh green. There's the Muhammad Ali series and also Barone 82. Cause just cause I love that let's

Speaker 0 (41m 13s): The Trump will also have

Speaker 4 (41m 15s): Al the Trump. We can take the Trump down.

Speaker 0 (41m 17s): I can't even spell T

Speaker 4 (41m 18s): U N P

Speaker 0 (41m 19s): 2024.

Speaker 4 (41m 20s): So just a couple series that we'll have.

Speaker 0 (41m 22s): We'll also have a couple of Tyson Beck AFL cards. Oh, nice. So excellent. I brought them in today. So we'll get those graders.

Speaker 4 (41m 28s): Well, and there was a rumor that we're gonna have the rookie Tyson Beck card. Did

Speaker 0 (41m 32s): We find it? No, we haven't found it yet. Tyson from the baseball? Yeah. From the baseball. Remember that

Speaker 4 (41m 37s): Picture of him was little,

Speaker 0 (41m 38s): A little tacker. Yeah. A little tacker Tyson. That's awesome. And he's you have one? Yeah, I have one of them. Oh man. I may have been opening a pack or two at the local car shop one day and pull out a card and it was Tyson Beck. And what the heck is this? And that's amazing. Loved it.

Speaker 4 (41m 51s): So that that's all, I'll tell you what we'll do that. We won't grade that one. We'll wait for him to sign it. Then we'll grade it.

Speaker 0 (41m 56s): How good's that?

Speaker 4 (41m 57s): Yeah. So that'll be awesome. So looking forward to catching, you

Speaker 0 (41m 59s): Know, what, if we do that? Yeah. If we do that, we'll get to grade it and we'll put it on our socials and we'll auction it off for charity charity.

Speaker 4 (42m 6s): Oh, let's do that.

Speaker 0 (42m 7s): So I'm gonna find that card. I'm gonna get Tyson to sign it. We'll auction it off for charity. Yep. I'll let you know the charity right now. It'll be beyond blue. Love it because if I can make a bit of a public service announcement on that at the moment, I did have a friend who passed away this week and if he had to used service like beyond blue, he may still be here today. So always reach out because

Speaker 4 (42m 27s): Please do that.

Speaker 0 (42m 28s): It's very important, but we will do that. I'm sure Tyson will be more than happy to sign us a card and we'll give them, give it away for beyond blue.

Speaker 4 (42m 35s): We will a hundred percent. So we'll raise as much funds as we can. We'll even have a little donation box at the event and how we hang out for, for beyond blue and more than happy for you to either put cash or cards in there that are worth value, that we can then sell further beyond blue stuff. So if we we'll definitely we'll stick that up on the socials and stuff as well. So it is, it is a not a very nice thing to happen. No, but it does happen is I think people need to talk about this stuff because if you don't talk, then you don't save lives. That's

Speaker 0 (43m 3s): Right. Straight. Sorry. I didn't mean that to be a negative thing.

Speaker 4 (43m 5s): No, a hundred percent mate. And the fact thanks very much jelly for your thoughts, but yeah, no, it is a big thing that we need to talk more about. Especially as blokes. We don't normally do that. So yeah, that is a massive service and a great service that beyond blue, beyond blue, just while we're on a bit of a somber note, we heard today that, oh, Paul Green passed away the NRL super coach. So a massive shoutout to his family. And then everyone else that knew that knew him 49 years old, 49

Speaker 0 (43m 32s): Years old premiership winning coach,

Speaker 4 (43m 34s): A hundred percent and state of coach, a great man. I've met him a couple of times and very nice human being. So I'm not sure what's happening, not making any accusations or assumptions or any of that sort of stuff. Just to big shout. Out's shout out to his family and our, our love and thoughts are with everyone that's affected by that. Yep. So on a ER note, yes. PS, what's your leaving message today,

Speaker 0 (43m 53s): Your card,

Speaker 4 (43m 55s): You go go, same thing every week

Speaker 0 (43m 58s): We got these buttons working. No stop pushing it. Ah, you got double.

Speaker 4 (44m 1s): Otherwise it keeps going, oh,

Speaker 0 (44m 3s): Does it?

Speaker 4 (44m 3s): It does. We could

Speaker 0 (44m 4s): Do that.

Speaker 4 (44m 5s): And then you could time your announcements between the drum beats. Yeah. Yeah. But let's not do that. Let's not do that. Rob. What's your big shout out and, and big obviously thank you to the world today.

Speaker 0 (44m 13s): Yeah. My big thing is guys, if you are using our server, well use our service, but give us feedback. We want feedback hundred percent. That's

Speaker 4 (44m 20s): Ugly. Don't care.

Speaker 0 (44m 21s): That's the way we get better. And we want to, we wanna be the best

Speaker 4 (44m 24s): Indeed. And my big thing this week is Rob. Congratulations on the new role. We're really looking forward to see what you can do here. And those, those that miss this at the start of today's podcast is that Rob is our new general manager for platinum standard grading. Christopher is still involved and Christopher's gone on as the new GM of meteor eight into a position that enables him to help me a lot more with the new NBL team that we're bidding for. And I hope all other projects we go there. So Rob will report to Chris. So he's still around. You'll still see his ugly mug on this podcast.

Us two have to make someone look ugly. Yeah. Chris

Speaker 0 (44m 59s): Actually launching your own podcast.

Speaker 4 (44m 60s): Hey, what? It's gonna be called,

Speaker 0 (45m 1s): Collect this.

Speaker 4 (45m 2s): Yeah. And you're gonna go

Speaker 0 (45m 4s): Collect this. That's how we got the name. Love it, love it. Cause we said, what will we call it? And it's just gonna be about what we collect and we're gonna have guests on the talk about what they collects. See, and we've even got a guest coming up, talking about living with a collector. So

Speaker 4 (45m 18s): Would that be your wife? Is that

Speaker 0 (45m 18s): It's say, is that Jen? That is my wife. So she does not. Does

Speaker 4 (45m 23s): She know she's coming on the podcast yet? Or is it like super Mike? Do we

Speaker 0 (45m 27s): Should do, do you know, what's really funny Chris doesn't even know that this podcast is

Speaker 4 (45m 31s): So love. It. Absolutely.

Speaker 0 (45m 33s): It's something that we've been talking about and we are gonna launch that in the next few weeks. Yep. To get some, and it'll be good content for on our page as well. So people will be able to go and see this podcast. And I'll see something from a collector's point of view as well, because you know, that's where we come from. That's,

Speaker 4 (45m 47s): That's the background of all of us. And that's the reason we do what we do. The reason why we're in the positions we're in, and that's what we do there. So

Speaker 0 (45m 54s): I'm not actually plug it right now and say, if there's anyone on this podcast who thinks that they've got a good story about collecting, just get hold of us.

Speaker 4 (46m 1s): Do you know if someone, I reckon you should good on that podcast? Is

Speaker 0 (46m 3s): That Toga you

Speaker 4 (46m 5s): Toga,

Speaker 0 (46m 6s): Toga. Forget. No, you, you just did it again. Why? Why didn't? Oh man,

Speaker 4 (46m 13s): I'm sorry. You should have thought of that. I Toga would be the perfect actually the real hoop has just gone. Congratulations, Rob. You do a fantastic job and jelly looking forward to that podcast

Speaker 0 (46m 22s): As well. Yep. No worries. We'll I'll plug it all. Plug it all fan already here, but TGA, I will. I'll be seeing you in Melbourne Toga and we'll

Speaker 4 (46m 28s): Chat as our new submission partner, obviously, cuz well, after he gets the phone goal from William today, that's

Speaker 0 (46m 33s): Right. But we'll have a chat about that one. We'll get

Speaker 4 (46m 35s): On. Well guys and girls really appreciate everyone putting up with us for the last 48 minutes and 37 seconds. We, we do love you all. We really appreciate everything that you are doing that. And the fact that Rob's now steering the ship, we're really excited about as well. So as we move this thing forward, couple other things is local card shop popup shop will be opening on the gold coast at Arun in the next few days

Speaker 0 (46m 58s): In the next week. Yes. In

Speaker 4 (46m 59s): The next week. Yes. We'll announce that on socials next week. So that'll open up actually. No, it's the day after I'll be hanging out. What's that 22nd of August. That's the one. That's the day it'll be opened up there. May the door may be opened

Speaker 0 (47m 9s): Sooner. We might do a preview. We'll talk about couple

Speaker 4 (47m 12s): Previews and stuff. But yeah, thanks that. And that's actually saving, saving the hobby on the gold coast at the moment, cuz all the other shops shut down and shout out to those boys too. Cause they all gave it a crack and the same time, they're all still involved in the hobby and I believe there's other shops open and other stuff. We encourage that from everyone. We want everyone to get into this hobby as much as possible. So, and we are a community

Speaker 0 (47m 32s): That's right. Even from my point of view from the local, if I take this shirt off, which I won't and put the local car shop shirt on it, I would rather see 15. Don't do it. I'd rather see 15 car shops on the gold coast, 15 car shops in Brisbane, everywhere. Every ever, because that means there's a strong hobby indeed.

Speaker 4 (47m 48s): And that's what, we're

Speaker 0 (47m 48s): All we need to get everybody in the hobby working

Speaker 4 (47m 51s): Together. Indeed, indeed. And you'll see other shows that like, like hobby hangout that come up. Yep. And that's what's about everyone. We look forward to seeing you all in Melbourne and hobby hangout. If you can't make it, please reach out to us. You'll see us going live and stuff down there and doing some weird and wonderful stuff that we do. But we'll see you all next Thursday

Speaker 0 (48m 8s): And go

Speaker 4 (48m 9s): Platinum. Thanks guys. Thanks

Speaker 0 (48m 10s): Ruthie.

Speaker 3 (48m 17s): Go platinum, go black on

Speaker 1 (48m 29s): Black.

Speaker 6 (48m 30s): You know you wanna

Speaker 1 (48m 32s): Go?

Speaker 6 (48m 32s): You know, you wanna

Speaker 1 (48m 34s): Go,

Speaker 6 (48m 35s): You know, you wanna

Speaker 1 (48m 37s): Go,

Speaker 6 (48m 38s): You know,

Speaker 3 (48m 38s): Wanna it. It's the highest of standards on the of land and it's not super, it's not good. You want the best take advantage, go black.

Speaker 6 (48m 46s): You know, you know

Speaker 3 (48m 49s): You wanted go platinum, platinum, platinum, platinum, platinum, platinum, platinum, platinum, platinum, platinum, platinum, platinum.
