Part 1
Rodriguez – Street Boy
Sharon Van Etten – Mistakes
late night drive home – Awkward Conversations
Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever – Dive Deep
Arcade Fire – Age of Anxiety II (Rabbit Hole)

Facts
Rodriguez – Street Boy
- Rocker Sixto "Sugar Man" Rodriguez on this date in 2013 received an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree from his alma mater, Wayne State University, which is in Detroit.
- The documentary film Searching For Sugarman had come out the year before, which is centered around a pair of South Africans trying to find the very popular but reclusive Sixto in his native Detroit, winning an Oscar for best documentary film that year along with a BAFTA.
- His song Sugar Man was kind of a random mega hit in Australia, NZ, and South Africa far later than initial release, and Sixto became mega popular in those countries. The rumor at the time of filming in the early 2010’s was that Sixto had died, so they went to find out and if not, what was with him?
- Turns out the whole time Rodriguez was just living in Detroit, rather anonymously, just playing small local bars on the avenue and keeping a low profile.
- Detroit artists like this are kind of an amazing phenomenon guys like Moodymann, Amp Fiddler, Tall Black Guy, and on and on and on. Huge artists that just live mainly non-descript lives in the 313.
Sharon Van Etten – Mistakes
- The new album is out everywhere as of Friday, the latest from Van Etten came with no singles dropped in the lead-up to release as the artist wanted to relive the art of the record which has been lost in our digital age.
- We’ve Been Going About This All Wrong is available everywhere, do check in full, fair listener!
late night drive home – Awkward Conversations
- This is a band out of El Paso, TX and this is a standalone single.
- The song is about two people at a party trying to have a conversation as they’re definitely connecting, but the din of friends and other goings on is interrupting the dynamic.
- Check this band’s EP from last year Am I Sinking or Am I Swimming? If you’d like to hear more.
Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever – Dive Deep
- The band out of Melbourne, AUS is out with their latest LP Endless Rooms which just dropped on Friday.
- The band is notable both for their three guitarists and lack of a lead singer, which makes for an interesting dynamic in the sound and a lack of a spotlight figure.
- Do check it out, once again that’s Endless Rooms by…
Arcade Fire – Age of Anxiety II (Rabbit Hole)
- Now, we’re going to play part one of this song later on in the show, so just like the world we’ve been going about this all wrong.
- However, suffice to say the band’s latest album WE is out as of Friday and available everywehere, and we’ll take a deeper dive when Kat talks it up in a bit…which is actually the next song to start part 2.

Part 2
Arcade Fire - Age of Anxiety I
flor - 24
Sea Girls - DNA
Vero - Spin
Voxtrot - Raised By Wolves
Letting Up Despite Great Faults - She Spins

Facts
Arcade Fire - Age of Anxiety I (5.28)
Age of Anxiety is the first track to the band's newest Album, We. The sixth full-length release for Canadian indie rock band Arcade Fire is its final one with Will Butler, who left the band after the album was completed.

flor - 24 (3.04)
Flor has released their third album, Future Shine. All four members of the band are in good moods, cracking jokes and relaxing, even though this is a big moment for them. They’re set on making this record the one that breaks them through. 24 is the first track opening the album.

Badlands tour opener.

Sea Girls - DNA (3.50)
The London band originally released the track as a limited edition vinyl for Record Store Day of 2022. Following demand from fans, ‘DNA’ has now arrived as an official single. This track is a monumental celebration of being strange. It ponders belonging and identity. ‘DNA’ celebrates people who don’t fit in.

Vero - Spin (3.27)
Spin is the seventh track to their debut album 'Unsoothing Interior'. In the album Stockholm's Vero reflect the nature of life itself. Their songs prioritise feeling over perfectionism ' what feels, or sounds, best ' creating a record that tumbles through its contents with a sense of curiosity.

Voxtrot - Raised By Wolves (4.39)
Voxtrot is reunited and back for tour after being on a break for more than ten years! In celebration, They have released Early Music, which is essentially a remastered compilation of the indie pop act’s 2005 debut EP, Raised By Wolves, and its 2006 follow-up Mothers, Sisters, Daughters & Wives. If you don't know who they are, I highly suggest that you listen to them!

Letting Up Despite Great Fault - She Spins (2.59)
“She Spins” is an undeniably radiant dream pop delight. It’s the kind of immersive song that whisks listeners away from the day to day, emerging us into a shoegaze daydream. The song especially stands out from their recently released Fourth Album, IV. We love a special song.

Part 3
Wings of Desire - A Million Other Suns
The Boys with the Perpetual Nervousness - Look Back
The Stroppies - The Perfect Crime
Sasha Alex Sloan - New Normal
Sunflower Bean - In Flight
Titus Bank - Radio

Facts
Wings of Desire - A Million Other Suns (3.03)
“A Million Other Suns,” is a song inspired by late nights out and people letting things go in the night. It was written after finishing a shift at a pub and taking a moment to people watch, seeing the uptight vessels of society loosening and allowing themselves to relax and release their inhibitions.

The Boys with the Perpetual Nervousness - Look Back (3.14)
A new single from power pop gems The Boys With The Perpetual Nervousness brings news of a new album on the way. Their third album finds them comfortable in their role as a power pop band, pulling from the ‘90s school that restarted the lapsed wave of the early ‘80s. The new album, The Third Wave Of…, will be out July 9th of this year!

The Stroppies - The Perfect Crime (4.40)
With "The Perfect Crime", The Stroppies starts off their newest album Levity with a strong kick. The newest LP serves as a creative statement of intent and an acknowledgement of the contrast between the music they have made and the conditions in which they were produced in the midst of the pandemic and it's lockdown.

Sasha Alex Sloan - New Normal (3.08)
New Normal is the third pre-released single to her newest album, I Blame the World. It is the upcoming second studio album by American singer Sasha Alex Sloan, scheduled to be released on May 13 of this year. The song itself is about getting used to the New Normal of life without a certain somebody.

Sunflower Bean - In Flight (3.27)
This song is a romantic vision of meeting a lover, running away together, and entering a dangerous new world, it's less safe but also less suffocating. In Flight is the second track to the band's newest album Headful of Sugar. The album sees the band more confident and in control. Using those feelings of helplessness, this album is full of enough strength, empowerment, resilience and joy.

Titus Bank - Radio (3.38)
Canadian artist, TITUS BANK returns with A Summery new single ‘Radio’. It was written with American singer songwriter Jack Newsome. Apparently This tune ended up being inspired by one lyric that Bank had written down in their notebook saying ‘love is only better on the radio'.

Part 4
Let’s Eat Grandma - Watching You Go
The Walters - Black Moon
BoyWithUke - Heart of Ice
Valley - CHAMPAGNE
Marci - Immaterial Girl
Jaywood ft Ami Cheon - Just Sayin

Facts
Let’s Eat Grandma - Watching You Go(4.36)
Let's Eat Grandma's Watching you go is the third track to their newest studio album Two Ribbons. Two Ribbons is a title that suggests two separate entities that may or may not be entwined. It's a definite comparison to their debut album, Gemini, which suggested the two man band to be the same or as twins. People seem to grow to be their own human sooner or later.

The Walters - Black Moon (3.21)
Remember how I told you The Walters were cooking something up? Well, it seems like my sixth sense was correct because they're back with an EP. Their newest EP, try again, contains 6 songs including our song of the day, Black Moon and their hit single I Love You So. There is no update to an album, but I shall never give up!

BoyWithUke - Heart of Ice(3.10)
BoyWithUke has given us their third album, Serotonin Dreams. Despite the album having the word Serotonin, Heart of Ice doesn't give off much of it. Its a song about a certain someone who's messed their life up with love and doesn't care, having a heart of ice.

Valley - CHAMPAGNE (3.01)
Valley is a Canadian indie pop band based in Toronto. A double-booking of two separate bands at a local recording studio resulted in the meeting and formation of the band, VALLEY. Their newest single Champagne is turning the worst into something more bitter sweet, such as pain into champagne.

Marci - Immaterial Girl (3.30)
Marci — also known as the keyboardist for the Montreal indie band TOPS — released their debut solo single “Entertainment” earlier this year and recently 'immaterial girl". Inevitably, these singles are a part of a debut solo album, Marci. Marci’s self-titled LP will be out in August. Immaterial Girl seems to be a nod to latest meme hit Madonna's Material Girl.

Jaywood ft Ami Cheon - Just Sayin (4.33)
Winnipeg songwriter JayWood has announced his new album. Slingshot will be out July 15 with releasing newest single, Just Sayin. "Just Sayin'" is a funky synthpop tune and is about creating equal opportunity for people in need, and lending a helping hand if you can. Have you lent a hand today?
