Nancy Salley:

As you listen to this passage, meditate on the freedom that comes through Christ and how living in that freedom can transform your life. Well then, since God's grace has set us free from the law, does that mean we can go on sinning? Of course not. Don't you realize that you become the slave of whatever you choose to obey? You can be a slave to sin, which leads to death, or you can choose to obey God, which leads to righteous living.

Nancy Salley:

Thank God. Once you were slaves of sin, but now you wholeheartedly obey this teaching we have given you. Romans six fifteen through 18. The freedom that we have in Christ is one of the most beautiful gifts we can receive. However, this freedom comes with responsibility.

Nancy Salley:

Paul asks an important question in this passage. Since we are free from sin because of God's grace, does that mean we can continue to sin? His answer is clear. No. True freedom in Christ is freedom from the bondage of sin, not the freedom to indulge in it.

Nancy Salley:

In this moment, take some inventory of your life today. Are there areas where you're allowing sin to have control over you? It could be a particular habit, a pattern of thinking, or a relationship that continuously pulls you away from God. Jesus offers you freedom from these things. When we choose to obey God, we are choosing life, peace, and righteousness.

Nancy Salley:

True freedom is found in surrendering our desires to God and trusting that his way is the best way. Take a deep breath. As you exhale, surrender these areas of sin to God. Imagine Jesus with compassion in his eyes standing in front of you with his hands stretched out toward you, ready to receive with grace whatever burden you have to offer him. Ask him now to help you walk in the freedom that he has already given you through Jesus.

Nancy Salley:

Because of his great love for you, the weight of sin has been lifted, and you can live in peace knowing that in Christ, you are no longer bound by the things that once held you captive. Feel the relief in your soul knowing that you have been set free. As you step out of the darkness of sin and into this light of grace, trust that God empowers you to live in freedom. He has given us his holy spirit, which guides and strengthens us daily to walk in his ways and obey his word. Embrace this gift of his continual presence today.

Nancy Salley:

Call upon the Lord when you need strength. Ask him for wisdom and let it shape the way you live. Choose to obey God in all things, knowing that his path leads to peace, joy, and fulfillment. Let his grace fill your heart and mind, and may it be reflected in everything you do.
