Holly Lamb (00:01.186)
Hello and welcome to this week's episode of the no fucks given podcast with me your host Holly lamb this week I am joined by Christine now we met in a fantastic group called rise of the Empress where we connect with lots of other like-minded women on a similar journey and Christine decided this year that she was going to do her intentional year

And she's basically documenting this on Instagram about how she is manifesting her dream reality and what she is doing from January till December and sharing it with everybody. So I'd love to welcome just Christine to the podcast. How are you doing today, Christine?

Christine (00:50.665)
I am great. Thank you very much, Holly, for having me on. was so pleased when you asked me to come on. It's been a while since I've been on a podcast. And what better way to come back to one?

Holly Lamb (00:59.488)
Yes, amazing. Well, I'd just love to start with why did you decide to do this and why did you decide to document it?

Christine (01:10.567)
Right, so I'll have to, there's a little bit of a backstory to this. I started this actually on the 11th of the 11th in November of 2024. And it really came on the back of, I guess what some people might call a dark night of the soul, or I've heard someone else describe it in another way recently that sounded much better because, I can't remember what it is. Maybe it'll come back to me, but.

Holly Lamb (01:23.276)
Yes.

Christine (01:39.497)
basically that's what had happened. if I go back a little bit to like 2023 was what did the Queen used to call it? Did she say she had an annus horribilis? That was like years ago, wasn't it? But basically that was my annus horribilis 2023 where it was a lot of really difficult things happened, like really that turned my life upside down and

During that year as well, everything had fallen by the wayside. My spiritual practices, my diet, everything, my health, I'd gained a lot of weight. And then when I got to 2024, it was all about me. Everything had been stripped right back down to the foundation, which obviously is where it needed to be and then needed to build myself back up properly. So I addressed my health, I addressed my spiritual practices.

And I was doing really, really well, I was that I was struggling a bit looking for work. I had had I'm a freelancer and I had been doing a couple of different remote roles and just as it would have it, both of them ended at the same time. And I found myself with no income. I had a little bit saved up, so I had to live off my savings and then started the very arduous task of applying, applying, applying for jobs.

Holly Lamb (02:57.24)
Mm-hmm.

Christine (03:08.317)
which was soul destroying and a job in itself because it was literally taking up all my day, which, you know, I'm sure it does for so many people, know, to applying for literally hundreds of jobs and getting very little response back. The interviews I did get went really well and they said they couldn't even like tell me anything to improve on.

This Dark Night of the Soul came after I'd had the third job rejection in one week and they were jobs that I was perfect for. I even had the really niche experience that they had been asking for. And that day, I think the day when it all really happened was it was a job at a grassroots performing arts company, Remote, which is what I needed. Everything was perfect.

and they said they were going to let me know I'd been through the first second interviews this was a Friday they were going to let me know on the Friday and I waited all day all day and I could see myself getting more and more wound up and it was you know this had obviously been bubbling and boiling within me for some time and they kept me waiting until about four o'clock

Holly Lamb (04:28.462)
No.

Christine (04:29.585)
Why couldn't they let me know before then? Anyway, when they let me know, I just went into an absolute meltdown and I literally just collapsed to the floor crying because it was like everything had hung on this. Anyway, know, getting a new home, getting back to, because I'm living separately from my partner at the moment. There was so much hanging on it. Just even living basically because I didn't have.

Holly Lamb (04:41.998)
Mmm.

Christine (04:57.137)
enough money to be paying my bills and things like that. So yeah, I went into a complete meltdown. I, you know, I cried, I sobbed. I just had to be on my own. I was punching pillows, you know, doing all the stuff that I needed to do to get it out. And just, I just let myself be in it. Not for any other reason that I didn't know what else to do at that point. I was so exhausted with it all. And then after a couple of hours of doing that,

Holly Lamb (04:59.502)
Yeah.

Holly Lamb (05:17.325)
Hmm.

Christine (05:27.205)
I was just exhausted and just like that and it all of this have moved out of me and I just felt empty and I don't know it was like it must have been just a fertile ground then for ideas to grow and and at that point then because obviously I'd been doing the the work with like with you and and all the other women in the Empress Group all year on manifestation well since about last summer wasn't it

and creating our own realities. And if I'm honest, I've done that work for a long time anyway, on and off, though it's never been consistent, but in 2024 it was much more consistent. But at that point, when I'd had this complete meltdown, I just thought, what if all this is bullshit? know, what if you're creating nothing? What if everything is just random, things just randomly happen to us and we either deal with them or we don't deal with them? And then this...

Holly Lamb (06:02.744)
Mm-hmm.

Holly Lamb (06:13.678)
Hmm.

Christine (06:24.605)
just this seed just felt like it was planted will then prove to yourself because you know this is true really you know it is so prove to yourself how can you prove to yourself you know that in your own reality yeah I guess is what people kind of say or downloads I don't know I don't know I don't like that word but that's what it kind of felt like because

Holly Lamb (06:36.088)
you

Christine (06:52.841)
It just felt like this information just started dropping into these ideas, right? Do this, do this, start a TikTok account, start a new Instagram account. You're going to document this for a full year. You are going to prove to yourself that you are creating your own reality. And, you know, by documenting it, it's there. It's in black and white. It's in print. You can see. So that's where it came from. And, yeah, so I'm like three months in now, I think.

Holly Lamb (07:21.816)
Yeah. Amazing. And what are some of like the highlights that you've experienced so far just by being present and documenting it? What stuff has started to manifest into your reality?

Christine (07:22.621)
Mmm.

Christine (07:40.071)
Right, so I've got some pretty bold things that, you know, I've been very transparent about what I want to bring in within the next, well, it was 365 days from then, and that's a new home in London. Very boldly, another additional home back in Bournemouth because I'm just being, why not? Why can't I have two? You know, this, there's...

Holly Lamb (07:48.536)
Mm.

Holly Lamb (08:00.256)
Why not?

Christine (08:04.861)
quite a few things on the list there. I won't go through them all. They are there if anyone wants to have look on my TikTok or Instagram. One of the big things that happened on the very first day that I started this, which was the 11th of the 11th, because I'm spending some time at my mum's, I'm splitting my time between London and my mum's in the North of England. And on that 11th of the 11th, it was

Holly Lamb (08:20.408)
Mm.

Christine (08:33.745)
a beautiful day, absolutely stunning. And I like to walk a lot. So me and my mum went out for a big long walk. And because it felt like a weight had been lifted, I'd cleared all this negative and stagnant energy through my meltdown. And I genuinely felt so happy and not even hopeful, just because that might imply that I didn't quite know things were going to happen. I knew that good things were coming.

Holly Lamb (09:03.16)
Mmm.

Christine (09:04.113)
So I felt so happy and we went out for a big walk on the 11th the 11th and the sun was shining, the birds were singing and I was just in complete gratitude and awe of all the abundance around me. And I remember laughing to myself at the time thinking, you've got no business feeling like this because you're a bank account. It's like, leaves a lot to be desired.

Holly Lamb (09:18.883)
Hmm.

Holly Lamb (09:25.986)
Hahaha

Christine (09:30.569)
I thought I don't care, like I can see and feel all this abundance around me and I feel rich, like really rich. And on that walk, in fact, I think it was about five minutes after just saying those words to myself in my head, I got a message, an email through saying, from a friend saying, oh, there's somebody that, because I'm a singer as well and songwriter, I got a message through from a friend saying, oh, this...

Holly Lamb (09:34.136)
and

Christine (09:59.111)
this friend of his who I've met before, he's recording a new album, full album. He wants you on backing vocals. Are you available to come and do two days of session work? I was like, are you kidding? Like, actually, I just sat there laughing to myself. Of course I want to do it. We walked. This was a big walk we were doing. Walked about another couple of miles. I got another email through asking me to come and do a gig somewhere else in London.

Holly Lamb (10:10.038)
YEEEET

Christine (10:29.029)
I have been doing gigs for a while so this isn't something that's coming in frequently all the time now. And I was just laughing to myself, like, what's going on here? This is crazy. So yeah, that was an amazing start to it all. And there's been few other things that have been coming in since then, without a doubt.

Holly Lamb (10:31.694)
Mm-hmm.

Holly Lamb (10:47.448)
Hmm, yeah, definitely.

Mmm.

Yeah. And it just goes to show and you can, you can read about it and say all the things you have to be fully, truly 100 % grateful for your life now before you can receive anything else. Because if you're in that mindset, that vibration of lack and scarcity, that's all you attract towards you because

Christine (11:11.464)
Yes.

Holly Lamb (11:22.008)
The universe doesn't respond to what we say. It responds to our vibration. So at that time you were so in alignment with gratitude that it went, right, okay, let's give you something that you actually need to survive in this 3D reality that we're living in. So it just goes to show the power of us being in that pure heart space and what we can call in. And it's just beautiful.

Christine (11:50.761)
Yeah, it's amazing. Oh, actually, the one big other big thing as well with this because that obviously wasn't consistent work. And I don't know if you remember in the group that that we're in the, you know, the Empress Group and I had spoken about, know, like, this is taking up all my time. It's stressful. I'm spending all these job applications out. And Elle, who runs the group, had said, stop doing it all.

Holly Lamb (12:17.804)
Mm-hmm.

Christine (12:18.537)
stop trying so stop working so hard and initially that thought was, but if I don't apply for stuff, how am going to get a job? then I just thought, you obviously this isn't working. And so that's I did. I stopped and, Aligned myself with the right kind of energy came correct with that energy. And that's when somebody that I'd done the freelance work for before came back to me and said, the business, the startup is doing brilliantly. Now, can you come back?

Holly Lamb (12:29.678)
Mm-hmm.

Christine (12:47.545)
and it was just for an hour at first and then increased and increased and increased. now, you know, I'm working again and I'm able to be saving up money again as well.

Holly Lamb (12:59.348)
Amazing. again, it's just the energy because what you were doing, it was just leaking that energy, that desperation, wasn't it? Like the desperation of, need this. And when we need something, it doesn't come to us because we're not content with what we already have. And this is why I think probably so many people are so drained with the system that we are in with this job system of if you're on benefits, then you have to

Christine (13:08.585)
I'm in.

Holly Lamb (13:28.51)
for so many jobs and that is so soul destroying and draining. Because I remember when, when it was a long time ago, when I came back from London and I was claiming job seekers and the amount of jobs you had to show that you're applying for that is just sucking your energy. But it takes the right mindset and the right kind of person to go, okay, I'm just going to stop and I'm just going to trust and I'm just going to surrender. But that's what you did. And then look what happened.

Christine (13:53.193)
Yeah.

It's scary isn't it when you do that? I guess the more you do it then the more that trust muscle builds doesn't it? you're like well it worked last time I've got a good reference point last time. Exactly!

Holly Lamb (14:10.978)
Anyone? I can do it again!

So what would you say are some of the mindset shifts or perhaps daily rituals or weekly rituals, whatever, that you are now doing that you weren't before to manifest?

Christine (14:31.305)
Right, let me think about this. But I mean, I make sure that I have a consistent routine, you know, like a morning routine, just keeping those little promises to myself. And it's not major, I get up in the mornings, and I'll do a bit of lymphatic drainage, I'll do like a 10 minute meditation, I don't find I can meditate too long in the mornings. And I'll do some

Holly Lamb (14:34.862)
Mm.

Holly Lamb (14:57.678)
Mm-hmm.

Christine (14:59.913)
Somatic stretches where you know get make sure I'm in my body and I will do like 15 to 20 minutes of strength training as well So I think you know, it's yeah, said it's nothing major it takes maybe 45 minutes or so But it just means I'm keeping those promises to myself and I am taking that action Aligned action, you know to because as well that's what

Holly Lamb (15:04.43)
Holly Lamb (15:16.856)
Mm-hmm.

Christine (15:26.767)
me on my highest timeline is doing, she's keeping those promises to herself. So yeah, just I'm trying to think off the top of my head. I'm not sure what else.

Holly Lamb (15:37.646)
think it's just having that solid routine, isn't it? That I've made this promise to myself, so I'm gonna follow through because if, like you said, if we break those promises to ourself, then nothing else is gonna come in because the subconscious brain is just going, well, you don't really mean it. So you probably don't really want the thing that you say that you want because you keep breaking all these promises to yourself. So it doesn't always have to look like I spent three hours in meditation and everything comes to me.

Christine (16:06.385)
I wish.

Holly Lamb (16:06.666)
That's not reality like most people don't have that time like 10 minutes is long enough. Yeah, we're not one of these like spiritual I sit here and this is my morning routine and I speak in this voice and no none of that Exactly. I did my yoga in my pajamas this morning. Why not?

Christine (16:20.623)
I know I do it all in my pajamas as well.

Exactly, why not?

Holly Lamb (16:29.518)
Exactly. It's about finding the things that work for you. And that's why it's so individual. like just going back to what you were saying about morning routine and the strength training and stuff, because Christine and I worked together. She did my cyclical living program, cyclical power program. And that's kind of how we connected more and got

Christine (16:36.755)
Hmm.

Holly Lamb (16:58.432)
to deep dive into more menopause and menstrual cycle work. So I'd just love to touch a little bit on that and how that's kind of helped you along in your journey. So if you wouldn't mind just sharing a little bit about kind of like where you were when we started working together.

Christine (17:19.655)
Yeah, well yeah, it has been really instrumental, you the work that we did together and, you know, ongoing. Because I, when we, obviously we connected before that, but when we connected properly over this, when I started doing your programme, I mean, I'm in my perimenopause years now, I'm 48 now. So last year, my periods had started to go off.

Holly Lamb (17:26.946)
Mmm.

Christine (17:47.547)
a bit and I think I skipped one whole one and you know that's never happened before and when I came to you I go my god I'm trying to think like how I was when I came when

Holly Lamb (18:01.222)
Because you're in this new version now. Who was she? I don't even remember!

Christine (18:04.326)
No!

Well, I know I wasn't doing any strength training and you were the catalyst for that because I walk, I love to walk a lot but I've resisted doing strength training and I don't know why. So yeah, you were a huge catalyst in that because obviously, know, it's an important thing, it? To build that muscle, especially as a woman in her 40s. But also what

Holly Lamb (18:34.382)
Mm-hmm.

Christine (18:37.083)
what I didn't have before working with you was any kind of real knowledge about, you know, the different phases, you know, the different stages of our menstrual cycle. And that has been the biggest thing for me is understanding and recognising the patterns throughout the cycle. Now I'm due on my bleed in about two days. And, you know, I'm fully aware of where I am, that everything feels a lot.

you know, just crying at everything and really feeling everything, feeling very emotional about stuff. And I can pinpoint as well now very clearly when I'm in my inner summer or ovulation stage and I can feel that building throughout in the spring. And these are things that I wasn't aware of before at all. And I can clearly see them now and I can really use them within my daily life to...

Holly Lamb (19:09.838)
Yeah.

Christine (19:35.591)
not excuse things, that's not the right term, maybe to explain why I might feel a certain way or might want to behave a certain way or might want to retreat or be out there in front of people.

Holly Lamb (19:42.989)
I'm

Holly Lamb (19:51.052)
Yeah. Yeah. And cause we're not taught this stuff. We're not taught that these ebbs and flows to our cycle. We're not taught what happens when we start getting to menopause and start to experience things changing. so I'm just grateful it was, you were able to gain this knowledge and obviously then you can pass this knowledge onto your daughter as well. and obviously this is how it kind of ripples out.

And if you could kind of go back to that version of yourself, if you can remember what she was like, because you're just this new person who I don't even remember who she is anymore. If you could go back to her and give her like a piece of advice, imagine if you were going back to like your 20 year old self and knowing what you know now, what would you say to her now?

Christine (20:28.551)
But

Christine (20:33.7)
Hahaha

Christine (20:49.709)
gosh, just connect with yourself because you... When I think back at that time, that was a time where, know, not just me, but many women and girls and young women would go off to the toilet on their periods and quickly hide your tampons, hide them because it's all shape. Don't let anyone see it. So, yeah, would just give myself a big hug and just encourage myself to connect.

with myself and with my cycle and let go of any shame.

Holly Lamb (21:26.03)
Mmm.

Christine (21:27.025)
Yeah, there was so much of that and I know I'm not the only one.

Holly Lamb (21:33.164)
No, not so beautiful, because there's so many women out there that will have this shame and this stigma that's still there from when you were a teenager. And you are able to clear that. You can clear that shame by connecting back to your cycle and really embracing her. And even, for example, even when you start heading towards menopause, you can still do this. You can still connect to your cycle, which is exactly what you've done. And it will help you move through

into the next stage and especially when you stop bleeding, you'll just have this other appreciation for your body and what's happening.

Christine (22:09.737)
Hmm, but ironically now my my cycle is perfectly regular again now Honestly, it's like clockwork again and it has been quite a few months now

Holly Lamb (22:15.05)
Yaaaay! Of course! Well, of course!

Holly Lamb (22:22.737)
Yeah. Yeah. It's, it's still like, as people, say this to people, they're like, really? I'm like, yes, because all it is awareness, it's self awareness. And it's like your body giving you that confirmation that this is, this is what you should be doing. And, and this is what happened to me. I brought my cycle back into regularity within a couple of days and it is possible. So.

Christine (22:30.706)
Yeah.

Christine (22:44.989)
Right.

Holly Lamb (22:49.558)
If anybody was kind of feeling like, I'm not sure I'm stuck or disconnected, what's like one thing that you'd say to them?

Christine (22:59.695)
my gosh, get involved in Holly's work. Yeah, I can't, I can't like emphasise that enough because, you know, for me, I've said it before, you've got an amazing teaching style that it's, yeah, you're not talking at anyone. It's such a, it's a really beautiful discussion and you've got so much knowledge and.

Holly Lamb (23:04.184)
Come on!

Christine (23:24.285)
People can have so much knowledge, a lot of it is in the delivery as well. you know, the way you're able to teach this, you know, the way you've taught me is just, I can't imagine it not being a part of my life now. I can't imagine not being aware of all this. So, yeah, I would wholeheartedly encourage anyone to get on your courses, get on your programs and get involved.

Holly Lamb (23:47.438)
Oh, thank you, Christine, so much. That means so much. And I'm just pleased that you've got to this place as well. And all these things have like come together with like your intentional year and putting yourself first. And I literally can't wait to see what happens by November 11th, 2025 when you've got your two houses.

Christine (24:03.431)
Mmm, me too.

Yeah, why not? Why not? I'll be going home.

Holly Lamb (24:10.638)
Because why not? Yeah, exactly.

Well, thank you so much, Christine. This was lovely. And where can people find you on Instagram and TikTok if they want to follow your journey?

Christine (24:26.203)
Okay, so they can find me on TikTok as my intentional year, on Instagram as my underscore intentional year. And if they want to follow my music on, my gosh, I'm going to have to check what my Instagram handle is, unless I get it right. Because it did change. Let me just have a quick look. So if you want to follow my music, I am come on, come on, come on.

my gosh. No. Right. Yeah, I changed it a little bit ago. It is I underscore am underscore Coco Malone.

Holly Lamb (24:58.818)
Have you changed it recently? Yeah.

Holly Lamb (25:07.884)
Lovely. I knew it was I am Coco Malone, but I didn't know where the underscores was.

Christine (25:11.653)
I couldn't remember where I put the underskirt.

Holly Lamb (25:15.48)
gonna share it all in the show notes so people can just literally under the episode click it and it'll take you there but yeah go and listen to Christine's music because she's very very talented she's got beautiful voice well thank you so much for joining me it's a pleasure to have you

Christine (25:20.051)
Thank you so

Christine (25:33.81)
thank you Holly, I was so happy that you asked me to come do this. So yeah thank you for having me.

Holly Lamb (25:39.47)
Thank you. Thanks for listening guys and we'll see you all next week.
