Hello. I'm your host, Tony Cammarata. Welcome into the leaders realm where we work towards activating the beast mode mindset. What does this mean you ask? Well, in today's episode, unleashing your beast mode strategies for activating the beast mode mindset.
Speaker 1:I'm gonna share exactly how to do just that. By the end of this episode, you'll have a great understanding of what the seven characteristics are that we need to make this happen. So, sit back, grab your coffee and let's get going. So, just a little background, you
Speaker 2:know, beast mode is a word that I've used for quite some time now. And, I truly believe that, you know, a lot of times when we think we hear the word beast mode, we think, Oh, well, that's not for me. You know, I'm not athletic. I'm not that strong. I'm not that, you know, physically fit, to be considered in beast mode.
Speaker 2:Well, you know, that's just one area where the word beast mode, the description of beast mode actually fits. You know, you hit beast mode and it's like the spokes on the wheel. You know, when all those folks are nice and tightened up, where that wheel is just spinning, it's never out of balance. Things are just happening great. You're going to places.
Speaker 2:You're making things happen. You're achieving your goals. You're succeeding at everything you touch and do and say. That's that's truly what beast mode is. You know, when you align everything, your life is in perfect balance.
Speaker 2:And I'm hoping that, you know, by covering a lot of these things, throughout this episode and many episodes to come that I'm gonna help you guys and gals just, you know, really dig deep inside you and, hopefully eliminate some lies that you've been telling yourself, lies that you've been living with to help you overcome that. So the one the first thing I did was I I went to chat GPT. That's all the rage right now, AI. Right? So I went to chat GPT and I said, I wanna know what beast mode is.
Speaker 2:Give me a description. And this
Speaker 1:is exactly how chat GPT defines beast mode.
Speaker 2:A beast mode mindset refers to a state of mind characterized by extreme dedication, focus, determination to achieve one's goals. It's often associated with pushing oneself beyond perceived limits, giving effort and maintaining a relentless drive to succeed. I love that. In this mindset, individuals push past the options, setbacks, challenges with an unwavering resilience and tenacity. The beast mode mindset is commonly associated with athletes and individuals striving for peak performance in various areas of life.
Speaker 1:That's basically what I
Speaker 2:just covered, right? I mean, it's not only reserved for athletes, but also individuals, you know, to push yourself beyond levels that you've ever believed you can achieve.
Speaker 1:So what are these seven characteristics? So characteristic number 1 is intense focus, unwavering determination, an exceptional work ethic, mental toughness, physical strength and stamina. A competitive spirit because second is always last and resilience.
Speaker 2:And so you might say just like I did, well, you know, I I don't know that I could do all
Speaker 1:of that. I could probably do 1, 2, maybe 3, possibly 4. But you know truthfully, if
Speaker 2:you don't focus in on really achieving these characteristics in your lives, there's always gonna be something that's out of balance. And I've learned that throughout the years. I've had some struggles and some setbacks, but learning to overcome them and achieve them has helped me grow stronger in so many other ways. And I'm really hoping that I can convey some of these areas to you and help you overcome some of those obstacles that you're facing. So let's kind of break this down.
Speaker 2:Right? So intense focus, when beast mode is activated, you're focused on your goals. You have a single-minded to achieve them, period.
Speaker 1:No excuses, no end in sight. Excuse me. Just get it done. You block out all distractions. Stay fully engaged in the task.
Speaker 1:You'll know that you're fully engaged and fully focused when the distractions of life no longer distract you from your goals. This is called focus and discipline.
Speaker 2:Things like the news, lies from people around you, the lies that we tell ourselves, you know, I'm so guilty of this, the self sabotage. In fact, getting this podcast up and running, this has been in
Speaker 1:the makings now for about 4 months and the distractions that come along with my
Speaker 2:profession, myself, the self sabotage isn't gonna be good enough. One of my one of my greatest mentors, John c Maxwell, has taught me that, Tony, you've gotta get out of this perfection gap. And that perfection gap is where it's got to be perfect. And you know what? It's never just perfect.
Speaker 2:You look at it, you listen, you read, you create the content, you start to record. Yeah. I don't think that sounded, because today I decided it's time. It's time to take that leap, break out of that perfection gap, be myself, lay it all out here for you. And I really hope that
Speaker 1:it touches you and I hope that you take something away from this. So number 2, the unwavering determination. When beast mode is activated, you possess a relentless drive to succeed. You're able to push through any challenge, setback, obstacle without ever giving up. Even when faced with adversity.
Speaker 1:Stop saying if I can, I will, or if this or if that, no? I will, period. End of discussion. Tell yourself that over and over and over, never stopping at anything less than what
Speaker 2:you've set out to to achieve. An exceptional work ethic. Well, I mean, this speaks for itself. Right, guys? I mean, when beast mode is activated, your work ethic is second to none.
Speaker 1:You're willing to put in the necessary time, effort, practice to achieve the outcome you want. You will become dedicated to constant growth, improvement and never ever fear hard work. Another little story I'll share with you. I was extremely obese, a few years back and decided that I needed
Speaker 2:to make some changes. Not because of my looks, mainly because
Speaker 1:of my health. I was going down a really bad path, medications, and I I just did not want to go down that. So, I started on this journey and I set micro goals. What am I going to do today? If I can just do today a little bit more than I did yesterday.
Speaker 1:As a result of that, here we are 3 years later, I've shed the majority of the pounds that I've wanted to shed, still have some work to do. You know, I'm able to work out relentlessly, back to doing 2 days most of the time. I study martial arts and, you know, I'm able to you know,
Speaker 2:I'm I'm pushing 60. I'll share that with you. I'm working out with guys half my age and able to hang in there. The stamina has built. I feel great, but most importantly, what I've gotten out of this, this has made me confident again.
Speaker 2:It's given me that confidence that I can achieve,
Speaker 1:I set my mind to, I can become relentless in that pursuit. And the main goal as far as the health is concerned, no more medications and I'm feeling fed up. And again, if it's just that, then I would have done everything I've set out to do. What's mental toughness? When beast mode is activated, your mindset becomes resilient.
Speaker 1:You become mentally strong, able to handle all types of pressures and yet stay calm, composed regardless of the situation. Your attitude will become positive. You believe in your ability to overcome any challenges that come to you.
Speaker 2:So I'm gonna break these down in later episodes, 1 by 1 and really spend some time diving deep into these characteristics because they are so important. They're the foundation. If you wanna become a greater leader, if you're a professional sales and you wanna become a greater salesperson, you're just looking to become a better person all the way around. You wanna feel good. You wanna put a smile on somebody's face.
Speaker 2:It's so important to dive deep into these. Physical strength and stamina. Yeah. Usually this is reserved for the sport to fitness context, you know, beast mode often refers to, you know, someone who displays exceptional physical strength, you know, the bodybuilders, the the the the strength trainers, the the the track stars, the basketball, NFL, you know, college football. So really, it re it refers to the ones who are displaying that that exceptional physical strength and endurance and stamina.
Speaker 2:They train their bodies to perform at peak levels, but we can push ourselves just as hard. We can push ourselves to our limits. You know, I'm a believer that you've got to first develop physical strength and endurance whether you're an athlete or not. We cannot activate a beast mode mindset if our bodies are weak.
Speaker 1:You know, think about a car. You know,
Speaker 2:you can have a car that's got a really strong engine, but your transmission is slippery. Or you're, you know, you've you've got tires that are bald. That that car is never gonna operate at its peak performance
Speaker 1:like it did the day that you bought it.
Speaker 2:And unleashing and and really activating the beast mode mindset, This is such a pivotal piece of that. I can't stress it enough. You've got to be physically strong, mentally strong. You've got to develop stamina and endurance
Speaker 1:up at the break of dawn, getting good rest, eating healthy.
Speaker 2:You know, all that to be said is we develop when that happens, we start to develop that that competitive spirit. Most of us had that as as as kids. You know, we wanted to be winners and then somehow, some way life gets in the way and we stop competing. We stop competing for the one
Speaker 1:of the things that we want. So those in beast mode have a strong competitive drive, a desire to outperform others, or even their own personal achievements. They thrive on challenges, They use competition as motivation to push themselves beyond any limits they've ever imagined. So I encourage you today to really sit back and think about where have I lost that competitive spirit? Where have
Speaker 2:I lost that edge? What caused that? For me, again, back to the lies that that that I've told myself. I recently read a great book, by another mentor, Craig Rochelle, Winning the War in Your Mind. And I've got to tell you, I mean, the the stories ran so parallel with my life, my own personal life.
Speaker 2:I thought, you know, did this guy grow up in my own home? But I really related to that book because we we go through life and we we've been knocked down so many times. Eventually, we we just start to believe the lies, and then we start repeating the lies. And you repeat the lies so many times over and over and over that they become a reality for us, and we'll never achieve our greatness. We'll never achieve what God truly meant for us to be
Speaker 1:if we continue to do that. So I urge
Speaker 2:you to really sit down and just start start thinking about jotting down some notes. Where did I lose? Where did I lose that competitive edge? That edge to win, that edge to overcome,
Speaker 1:that edge to push myself beyond the limits that I I never even imagined that I had. And yet, you come out the other side of the window. No matter what that is, whether you're writing a story, whether you're going to work, whether you're you're in a leadership role at work, at home, with your family, friends. So number 7 is individuals of beast mode are resilient and they bounce back quickly from failures or setbacks. They see setbacks as opportunities for growth and use them to fuel their determinations to succeed, which ties back into that competitive spirit.
Speaker 1:Right? So in order to succeed, you've got to fail. Failure is learning. I've been
Speaker 2:an entrepreneur my entire life. You start one business, it doesn't go the way you really planned on it ongoing, and you consider it a failure, and guess what? Now you start telling yourself why. Why? Because everybody looks at you and says, hey, that that did work.
Speaker 2:Oh, that didn't work. Oh, that didn't work. Now you can make a decision today. You can make a decision to continue to listen to those. You can make a decision to continue to tell yourself those lies where you can build a spirit of resilience and look
Speaker 1:at those failures as opportunities to grow, to learn, and just completely blow through your goals. Use them as fuel
Speaker 2:for determination to succeed. It's important to note that these characteristics, they're gonna vary depending which beast mode is used.
Speaker 1:It can be applied to various areas of life, sports, academics, your career, personal development. The term beast mode, it typically refers to the state of intense focus and determination, high performance. So perform at your best, at your peak. And you know what? If you can't physically do it, then work on yourself physically.
Speaker 1:That's what I'm telling
Speaker 2:you. Step up, step out,
Speaker 1:start chasing those goals, but start with that physical toughness.
Speaker 2:Doesn't matter. For me, it started out as just walking to clear my mind,
Speaker 1:and then from there it
Speaker 2:just kept on building and kept on building
Speaker 1:kept on building, kept on building.
Speaker 2:And if it wasn't for me being able to overcome the physical challenges, I would have never been able to do redevelop. I'm gonna say redevelop because I was at one point relentless. I live by the relentless pursuit of a worthwhile dream. So I just urge you today again to to just really sit down and and even if you just take some of my words and put them into action, you'll see amazing changes in your life, that I promise you. So I just wanted to take a minute to thank you guys for tuning in.
Speaker 2:I hope you got something out of this today. Now again, the upcoming episodes, I'm gonna break down each one of these, characteristics. Again, thank you. Tune in next week. I'm gonna do a deep dive into intense focus.
