The Team at the Real Health Co. shares a weekly message to help you center yourself and start your week off strong!
Today, I wanna talk about something that heals deeper than any supplements, any protocol that we could ever put you on. And fundamentally, it's identity. Who are you as a child of God? Really, your identity as a son or a daughter in the family of God means so much. I've been thinking through my identity, who am I?
Dr. Barrett:And I think there are seasons where I will try to earn the Father's love, or satisfaction, or approval by the things that I do. Yet, the scripture's pretty clear that while we were sinners, he died for us. And Romans eight even speaks on this beautiful language. He uses this language on that we adopted into his family. The other language is like it's a vine that we've been grafted in.
Dr. Barrett:And so as a son and a daughter, and we get grafted in into his kingdom, scripture even shows us that that at that moment of salvation, we are we are seated in heavenly places. Like, we are at that moment a a it says a co heir with Christ. And so as a co heir with Christ, in essence, in heaven, we are in heaven yet are in living on Earth. It's a wild dichotomy of a spiritual reality of being in heaven and on Earth, being currently seated in heavenly places with Christ, cohere with Christ, yet being here on Earth. What does this mean?
Dr. Barrett:Right? What is the spiritual meaning of this? Well, a son or a daughter means that you don't have to earn anything from a heavenly father who loves you, who gave his life for you. And it gives you this immediate, intimate relationship with a father who we cry with the spirit of adoption, Abba, Abba Father. It means you have access to him at any moment, at any time my kids would call me, would wanna talk to me.
Dr. Barrett:I would drop whatever I did, whatever I was doing for that moment. And the same thing is true at any moment, you just say Abba or Father. He's there, he's listening, and he's present, and it's not predicated on how good or bad you've been. It's not. It's just the reality of being a son or a daughter.
Dr. Barrett:And so, when you approach God now with this sense of confidence of being a son or a daughter, it's not now in fear. We don't live in fear. We can approach God, it says we can boldly come before his throne. And so today, I wanna speak on just the sonship. It's a word that's been resonating in my heart, sonship, and how it just releases God's inheritance.
Dr. Barrett:It means everything Jesus purchased, you have legal right to. Everything. And so it's peace, it's provision, it's healing, it's purpose, it's his own spirit, it's authority over the enemy. So everything that was purchased on the cross is not for one day or someday, it's for right now. And we have the confidence to not ask for it because it's already been given, but now we actually have the opportunity to walk in the confidence knowing that it's been given, and all we have to do is just believe.
Dr. Barrett:We don't even have to pray for it because as a son and as a daughter, and marked with the blood of Jesus, and filled with the Holy Spirit, peace is just a byproduct of that. And truthfully, when we don't have peace, it's because we are operating out of our sonship. We are operating as a slave. So at any moment, we actually have to just remove the idea that, hey, I'm not a slave, and remind ourselves, hey, I'm a son. I'm not a slave.
Dr. Barrett:I'm not a servant. I'm a son in his kingdom. Sonship calls you into transformation. When you know you're a son or a daughter, you don't live in shame. There isn't any guilt.
Dr. Barrett:You stop running these counterfeit identities. You stop striving for approval that's already yours, and you start living with confidence, on mission, on purpose. So today, just breathe this in. Just let the Holy Spirit, the Ruach, the wind of God, let him fill your spirit with your the sails of your ship with this wind that says that you belong in the family of God. You're loved, you're chosen, you're adopted, and you're grafted in.
Dr. Barrett:You're empowered now and you're covered. Let your identity as a child reshape how you think, how you pray, how you carry yourself, how you face battles, right. You're not alone, you're not abandoned, you're a son and daughter who the father has grafted into his family. So this week, this is your reminder that you are a son and a daughter, okay? You are not a slave.
Dr. Barrett:Live in the confidence that God is always there no matter what.
