As usual here on Homes Cheap we're going to feature another batch of reasonably priced homes. The theme for today is going to be homes in ocean or beachfront communities. These are not oceanfront homes but in communities or towns which are very close to the ocean or close to the coast.
The first thing you find is this really nice looking Victorian in Orange Texas. This is on the Gulf of Mexico in one of the inlet harbors. This house is interesting because first of all it's well under $200,000 - $185,000. It also is very well remodeled. Here's a shot of the bath that's remodeled. The interior has you know refinished hardwood floors, a lot of nice moldings, very interesting architectural home, decent size almost 2000 feet. So this is an example of where a reasonably priced home under $200,000, nice size house, good condition near the coast is available in Texas which is a low income tax, low cost of living state.
The next house we're going to look at is in Florida - Apalachicola, very nice beachfront laid back community. The house is a little smaller, it's under a thousand feet, but it's got a charming interior where you have again hardwood floors, maybe a little updating in the kitchen. But Apalachicola in Florida has a really nice vibe for a beachfront or coastline community. It also has a extra cottage where you see that this building in the back is included with the property so it may be a rental opportunity, maybe an income opportunity.
Next we'll take a look at is in Grayland Washington. Grayland is on a peninsula near Long Beach, the southern coast of Washington state. Now this house needs a little more work. You can see the outside maybe need some siding. We try to feature homes that don't need complete renovations that are unlivable. We try to feature homes that maybe they need some elbow grease. What we liked about this house is it's on three acres right. It's minutes to Grayland Beach - world-class clamming and beachcombing. So here's an opportunity where it might need some work but you have a three acre parcel, coastline community, and you can see from the photos it's got a lot of land. The opportunity for maybe a little garden, maybe to build a workshop. Looks like it's got updated electrical.
Last one we'll look at back to the east coast is in Myrtle Beach South Carolina, Horry County. Now this is a nice little house, looks like it's about a thousand feet, newer design. Myrtle Beach is a up and coming area close to a lot of cultural and tourism type areas but also we have some commercial opportunities. This house looks like it's got a little decent kind of a yard. It's not three acres like the last one but it's something that again is under $200,000.
And that's what you saw in all these properties - are all under $200,000, very affordable near the coast. So you may not be on the beach but you're probably within five or ten minute drive of the beach. As you'll see on our videos, you'll discover homes that have an exception to the high-priced market. There's always places you can find houses that are affordable that are in a budget. These houses are probably not going to have bidding wars like other higher priced homes and you can get into a house for probably less than what it'll cost to rent.
