Forestry Uncut gives voice to the people, issues, and aspirations shaping forestry today, offering the public a clearer view of the industry while providing space for forestry professionals to share their stories in their own words.

A podcast dedicated to uncovering the raw truths and realities of the forestry sector, hosted by Forest Nova Scotia's Executive Director Todd Burgess.

I'm Todd Burgess. I'm the executive director of Forest Nova Scotia and you are listening to Forestry Uncut. So, you haven't booked your tickets for the Forest Nova Scotia AGM coming up on February in Halifax, I would recommend you do so. I'm just gonna talk a little bit about the lineup, but this year's event highlights some industry leaders and collaborators and key voices across the forestry ecosystem that you won't wanna miss. First off, we've got Thomas Beeline.

He's a partner with Cassidy Levy. He's a trade lawyer. We've got Derek Nybor, the president and CEO of EFpac. Andrew DeVries, he's the CEO of the Canadian Forest Owners. Patrick Crabbe, president and CEO of the Mass Timber Company.

Jackson Wyatt, he's the founder and CEO of Cabin. We've got a number of others. Andrew Parsons who's the project director for Nova Sustainable Fuels, big project coming to Nova Scotia. Jason Summers, he's the executive vice president of Group Savoy. Then we have Jonathan Burns and Reese Waters, cofounders of Podstarter who you are listening to through this recording right now.

Joe Lewis, founder and CEO of BioBurn. Glenn Hardy is the senior vice president market and finance for the Shaw Group. We've kept Kim Baltherson, Kip Workman, Andrew Fedora, Gareth Davies, a number of other educational people. Doctor Michael Gray, he's the dean and professor at the University of New Brunswick. Floyd Dykeman from the River Philip Foundation, then we have Jillian Reed, founder of Reed Limited, and Sarah Napier, CEO of the United Way Maritimes.

That's just a snapshot of what we've got coming here for AGM. You don't wanna miss it. We've got some innovation, technology, and economic impact. We're gonna be exploring how forestry innovation and economic development address current industry challenges and opportunities. In addition, we're gonna talk about education.

We're focusing on attracting and retaining future forestry leaders through educational and experiential learning for opportunities that we have here in Nova Scotia. We're gonna have some community development discussion through forestry examining the impact of development, housing, and philanthropic collaboration in Nova Scotia. We're also gonna be talking about some communication, power, and politics. We're gonna explore and learn about current events from the voices behind the scenes and at the table who can impact the decisions that impact Nova Scotians on the forestry sector here in Nova Scotia.
