I don't know, I just didn't expect to love the tour as much as I did, which sounds kinda silly and twee because I love Tori on tour all the time. But I just was not expecting to be impacted emotionally, to get as excited as I was for those shows, to be to feel as immersed and invested in the new arrangements and the new bodies on stage and just watching Tori do things very differently.

gonna be sort of new and you have to transition into it. but it's it just like sets the tone. And it was interesting for her to do it as the second song of the night. I kept thinking, it should be the opener, it should be the opener. As time went on, I was like, I really love this playful slink of fire to your plain, which feels like we need like that kind of song that is a little bit more maybe a little like

a little bit isolated in her Tori love or something, right? And like and that's pretty common, you know, and it was and it kinda brings you back to like being young and like not knowing many people into Tori and that's sort of like cynical like and we talk about how Kristen and I met and we're like, s somebody says you're a Tori fan, but like, are you really? And then like we realize like that you speak the language and like, you know, I become friends with Juliet, your friend, who we talked about that exact thing. We had lunch a few weeks ago and she was like, you have to sort of like check like is this person

in a New York City venue, and then she said, Okay, we're gonna keep going, we're gonna rock. And she went back, they started Waitress again, then she did Yo George into Pretty Good Year. And she was feeling herself and the energy is just like I know a lot of people have different opinions and granted I was next to a very
drunk, obnoxious woman who had her young daughter with her and she was fighting with everybody around her 'cause she was being disruptive. And yet, despite all that, it somehow added to the ambiance of being in New York City at the Beacons, sold out with Tori just doing like you know, I I read that set list, it was like a rock show, you know. and the energy was just sky high.
And so though technically I might say that a another show had like a better set list, there was something about the composition of that in conjunction with like the whole package was just I think the best. and I was gagged a few times and, you know, wishing that you guys could be there with me because it was a lot of a lot of surprise and even just like the sequencing.

It was an improv beforehand, but I thought it was gonna be something else. and I don't know, it's just such an iconic seminal work for Tori. and to see that of all songs reimagined with these extra vocalists adds a subtext and a richness to it that just really surprised me.
