Welcome, y'all, we're Dead Cat Ranch, a private twelve hundred acre ranch venue for groups, nestled in the beautiful landscape of East Texas. So let's answer the question I get asked more than any other, which is simply, what is included when you rent an entire ranch. The short answer is the whole twelve hundred acres, all your places to stay, and the property itself, all of it reserved for your one group at a time.

I know a lot of planners are used to piecing a retreat together, booking rooms here, an activity there, a meeting space somewhere else. We do it differently, because when your group books with us, you're not renting a cabin or a space, you're renting the entire ranch.

That means no other guests sharing the land with you, no one else wandering the trails, and no one else's schedule to work around. It's just your people, your schedule, and the whole property to spread out across.

When it comes to where everybody sleeps, all of it comes together as one package. You get three cabins, two Airstreams, and the bunkhouse, all part of what's yours for the stay.

On top of the lodging, your base rate also includes fishing, the pools, the hot tubs, the trails, and outdoor games, the kind of room a group needs to actually come together and do something meaningful. And if you want to add things like UTV and ATV rentals, horseback riding, shooting, or classes, those are available for an additional fee. Because I have a minor in psychology, I've always paid close attention to how groups connect, and I promise you, people open up differently when they're not surrounded by a crowd of folks they don't know.

Now one question I hear from planners is the difference between a day event and an overnight stay. A day event is your group coming out to have the run of the property for the day, with the included fishing, trails, and outdoor games, perfect for a team-building afternoon, a shoot, or a reunion that doesn't need everyone staying over.

An overnight stay is exactly what it sounds like, your group moves in and the lodging becomes part of the experience. Those evenings are honestly where the magic happens, because the sunsets out here are best enjoyed from a rocking chair, and the stars really do light your night.

I'll be honest with you about something else, our cell service is reliable in the main area, though it may be limited in the more remote sections. So you can stay connected when you need to, and still find those quiet corners where the ranch does its work on you.

As for how booking works, here's the simplest way to think about it. You tell me about your group and the dates you have in mind, and we talk it through together, because every group is different and I'd rather give you honest answers than make you guess.

This place was originally my dad's ranch, and he built it to be a place people could slow down and feel like part of the family. Keeping it one group at a time is how we honor the way he always welcomed people here.
