Well, hello, everyone. Thank you for tuning in for another episode of the Essence of Preneur podcast. My name is Edna Harding, and I am so excited that you tuned in for this week's podcast, which we talk about all things business and life God's way. Now, today's episode is going to be a little different from the previous episodes, but I truly believe that the Lord wanted me to share this with you guys. And specifically, it's about blood and the water. What really happened on the cross? And you're like, what does this have to do with business? What does this have to do with life? What does it have to do? Anything. And, I mean, I'm going to tell you guys that this is very related to your business, but I'm not going to tell you exactly how it's related to your business until the end, okay? So don't, like, you know, tune off like, oh, I don't want to hear about blood and water. What happened in the cross? I know what happened in the cross.

I already know what happened. Jesus died across. Like, no, guys, I want you, like, this was powerful. So. And this is powerful when the Lord.

So let's just open up in prayer. Father God, we just thank you for this day. We thank you for my brothers and sisters who is listening on the other side of these airwaves. I thank you for their heart to learn. I thank you for their heart to seek you. I thank you, Lord, that you're going to speak through this episode in your very own way. Use me as a mouthpiece, Lord God, to teach them your truths, Lord, in the mighty name of Jesus, Amen. All right, so today we are going to look at a very small detail in scriptures, but actually carries a huge message for us as believers, as leaders, as entrepreneurs, CEOs and things of that sort.
Edna Harding [00:02:40]:
And it's found in John 19:34. John 19:34, by the way. Guys, this is so interesting. Now, I know going off topic, but it just came to my memory. My friend visited Us from Texas. So we took the girls to the movies called Light of the World. If you guys have children, it's a great movie. It's cartoons.
Edna Harding [00:03:04]:
But it was interesting because John was, excuse me, pictured as, like, a teenager. Like a young man, a very young man. Like, I don't know, early 20s maybe. I don't know, teenager, maybe. I. I'm. He looked like a teenager. And it was interesting because my friend and I were having this conversation that the disciples were probably young because Jesus was only 30 years old.
Edna Harding [00:03:29]:
And, you know, it's interesting what's happened, you know, with young people. You know, even Timothy was a young man, says, do not look down on you because you are young. And John was pictured as a young man. And, you know, in the scripture, it talked about how John was leaning on Jesus's heart. Do you remember that? And I could totally see a teenage boy doing that versus a grown man. So it, like, brought to life that. That. That verse, you know? And again, I.
Edna Harding [00:04:03]:
I can't prove it. I wasn't there alive. But it makes total sense that there was a lot of young people, young men who followed Jesus. The disciples were young men, okay, probably in their 20s or 30s or something like that, or even teens. Okay, so let me go back to this. I thought of John 19:34, because John, who was he? He called himself the beloved disciple. The beloved disciple of Jesus Christ. He is probably the only.
Edna Harding [00:04:32]:
If I. Correct me if I'm wrong, Holy Spirit, the only gospel that mentions this, okay, it says one of the soldiers pierced Jesus side with a spear, bringing a sudden flow of blood and water. Now, here's the thing, my friends. Like, why did John record this? Okay, why does it matter that both blood and water came out? And how does this tie to entrepreneurs today? Okay, you guys, intrigue. Like, what does this have to do with entrepreneurship? Well, let me tell you, okay? From a. Excuse me. I'm so sorry, guys. My throat is still very, like, clogged up.
Edna Harding [00:05:09]:
From a medical perspective, this detail actually confirms Jesus's death. Okay? So the water was likely fluid around his heart and lungs, which is a sign of severe trauma. Okay? Excuse me, Lord. Excuse me, guys. Okay? The blood showed that his heart was pierced.
Edna Harding [00:05:36]:
Okay?
Edna Harding [00:05:38]:
His heart was pierced. So this was undeniable evidence that Jesus didn't faint or escape. Because, you know, some people said, well, God took his spirit off of him before he died so he didn't have to experience pain. He actually died. He. He truly died. And that matters because our faith rests on this reality that he fully entered Death. And then conquered it.
Edna Harding [00:06:08]:
Then conquered it. Okay, now, from a spiritual significance, let's look at this. Number one. It was a fulfillment of prophecy because Zechariah 12:10 says, they will look on the one they have pierced. Exodus 12 says, the Lamb's bones would not be broken. Okay? Jesus is the perfect Passover lamb. Perfect Passover lamb. So it fulfilled the promise.
Edna Harding [00:06:38]:
The prophecies of the Old Testament. Blood also equals atonement, because the blood flowing from his side is assurance that every sin is paid for. Because here's what Hebrews 9:22 says. It says, without the shedding of the blood, there is no forgiveness. So back then. Now, mind you, I'm not very eloquent in this, but my. My understanding is that they would sacrifice the perfect lamb. Like the perfect.
Edna Harding [00:07:10]:
Yeah, the perfect sacrifice that has no blemish, nothing clean. And that blood would be an atonement, the payment for their sins. And without the blood, okay, we wouldn't be forgiven. And if we. If we have. If we. If you don't have forgiveness, if our sin is still on us, then nothing. The Bible says that.
Edna Harding [00:07:29]:
But there is. The wages of sin is death. But the gift of God is eternal life. So we would not be able to have relationship with God. We wouldn't be in his place because we will be separated from God for eternity if it wasn't for the blood of Jesus. Now, water. Here's the amazing thing. Water represents cleansing and renewal.
Edna Harding [00:07:51]:
Water symbolizes cleaning. It symbolizes new birth. It symbolizes the Holy Spirit according to John 7:38 and Ephesians 5:26. So the Holy Spirit is the water portion. Okay? You guys, hear me. Salvation isn't just a pardon. People think, okay, okay. Pardon meaning, okay, I don't have to go to hell.
Edna Harding [00:08:13]:
But it's actually a transformation. So the blood means, okay, I've sinned. Thank you for the blood that was. That was paid. And then water actually represents transformation. Now I am being. Being cleansed. And I'm new.
Edna Harding [00:08:29]:
And I'm being transformed into the image of Christ. Now look at this. Also it. Sorry, guys, my pants got stuck in my foot. One second, I'm trying to pull my. My pants. Okay, sorry. Okay.
Edna Harding [00:08:43]:
It's also the birth of the church, okay? Because just as Eve came from Adam's side. Oh, my gosh. Hear me, my friends, the bride of Christ. The church flows from Jesus's pure side. Come on, guys. It was the birth of the real church, okay? If Jesus didn't die, okay, if Jesus did, it wasn't. Didn't Die. There would be no church.
Edna Harding [00:09:07]:
Okay? There would be no church because the bride of Christ cannot enter without a husband. Oh, my goodness, Lord Jesus. The. The bride of Christ cannot enter, cannot exist without this, without the husband, which is Jesus, who's our groom. Okay, so Eve came from Adam's side. The bride of Christ. The church came from the piercing of Jesus's side. Okay.
Edna Harding [00:09:33]:
All right. Now, I just thought it was really cool. I. I thought that was a very interesting revelation. And again, you know, you don't have to believe it, but I just thought it was really cool. I hope you guys thought it was. That, that. That analogy is cool to you too.
Edna Harding [00:09:48]:
Now let us connect it to Isaiah 52:15. Okay? This is where it gets really more powerful. It says Isaiah 52:15 says, so shall he sprinkle many nations. Kings shall shut their mouths at him, for what they were not told, they will see. And what they have not heard, they will understand. Okay? The blood and water that flow from Jesus side just wasn't for Israel. It was actually for the nations. His sacrifice would sprinkle many.
Edna Harding [00:10:21]:
It says here, sprinkle many nations. A picture of cleansing, atonement and revelation. Okay? For all nations, not just Israel. Okay, this is how. This is amazing, guys. Oh, my goodness. That. That blood and water thing, okay, Blood and water thing that flow from Jesus side was not just for Israel.
Edna Harding [00:10:42]:
It was for the nations. In fact, it even mentions that even kings, those in positions of influence. It says here, kings shall shut their mouth at him. Excuse me. Would be silence in awe of what Jesus accomplished. This means that the cross doesn't just deal with individual sin. Oh, my goodness, Lord Jesus. It has a global.
Edna Harding [00:11:06]:
It has a cultural and leadership impact. Okay? It doesn't just deal with individual sin. It deals with sin on a global perspective, on a nation's perspective, on a leadership's perspective. The blood of Jesus and the water transforms societies. It influences rulers of nations, which is why you have kings and rulers of different countries who are following the Lord Jesus Christ. It brings wisdom where there was ignorance. I mean, this right here, the blood and water piece, okay, was because it. It was.
Edna Harding [00:11:50]:
The goal was to sprinkle over all the nations. Okay. All right, so how does this to connect to us in business? Okay, first of all, the blood of Jesus, that's your foundation. That basically shows that our identity in Christ is that we are the son and daughter of God and that we don't have to earn forgiveness, that Jesus Christ already paid the price so that we could have our identity, which is the Son and Daughter of God. So it's already covered. A lot of times people build businesses so they can make a name for themselves or make an identity for themselves. But according to the word of God, the most important identity is that you are the Son and daughter of God number one. Number two, it's water.
Edna Harding [00:12:33]:
Your renewal. As you grow in your business, you're not just forgiven, you're being transformed daily. Led by the Spirit, you are being made in the image of Jesus Christ. Which is why I always emphasize the healing of your soul. Like as you prosper in your soul, you will prosper, externally you will prosper just as your soul prospers. This is scriptural. Okay? So if you're not prospering in business, you need to take care of your soul. Isaiah 52:15.
Edna Harding [00:13:02]:
Again, let's go back to that verse. Your impact the work of God does in you isn't just for you, my friends. It's meant to serve, sprinkle to nations, to influence industries, boardrooms, communities, and yes, even kings. So don't limit yourself to your business. Ask the Holy Spirit to enlarge your tent, increase your territory. Ask the Holy Spirit to use you in your, in your industry, in your space and other people's spaces. It doesn't matter. Because as kingdom minded entrepreneurs, we're not just called to build businesses just for survival, my friends.
Edna Harding [00:13:38]:
We're not just called to, to provide for our family and their and employees and their families were called to build with such integrity and spirit led wisdom that even those in high places shut their mouths in awe. Remember that your obedience, my friends, in business can open eyes, it can shift culture, it can bring revelation to people in your country and other nations who never saw God's hands before. How many of you guys want to say yes to everything I just said? How many of you guys want us to be like, yes Lord, here I am. Send me users me in the marketplace, use me in my space. And let people be in awe. Just like Solomon was in his generation where the nations were in awe of what you did through him in his kingdom and the work that you told him to do. So let's go ahead and get practical. What are three practical takeaways? Number one, lead from forgiveness, not guilt.
Edna Harding [00:14:37]:
Remember my friends, you don't have to earn God's love. The blood of Jesus paid it all. So stop questioning if you're enough. Stop questioning if you can. If you can finish the assignment God gave you, you are able to exceedingly, abundantly, beyond all you could ask or think, do everything he called you to do because he has equipped you for it. Not because of your works, but because of Jesus Christ, who paid the price. The blood of Jesus guarantees victory over every assignment of the enemy against you. Number two, invite the spirit into your strategy.
Edna Harding [00:15:10]:
The water points, the daily cleansing and the wisdom that comes from the Holy Spirit. Before you scale, before you hire, before you launch, ask the Holy Spirit for wisdom. And number three, I want you guys to think beyond your business. Isaiah 52:15 shows your calling isn't just personal, it's actually generational and global. You want to build as if nations are watching because let me tell you, my friends, they surely are. They surely are. All right, well, hope this bless you. I hope this encourage you in your walk.
Edna Harding [00:15:44]:
You know, there is a significance to blood and water. And so next time you read about it, you know, flowing from Jesus side, remember, it wasn't just a medical detail. It's a prophetic picture of forgiveness, renewal and influence for the nations, for you and your business. Okay? As leaders, we don't build by our own strength. I just want to remind you guys that we build from the blood that redeems. We build from the water that renews. And we build, build from the call that impacts kings and nations. So don't limit yourself to your own Judea and your Samaria or Jerusalem, but limit yourself to the other most parts of the world.
Edna Harding [00:16:20]:
So yes, what am I telling you guys? Go global. Go global. God is after the nations. He is coming for his children, his sons and daughters who don't know Jesus yet. There are people all over the world who do not have a personal relationship with Jesus. Be part of that harvest. Amen. Amen.
