Zaki:

This is a good perch. Nice and sturdy, decent shade, but is it as good as that one? Okay. Now, this this is better. Better view, softer bark, definitely an upgrade.

Zaki:

But wait, what's that over there? Oh, now we're talking. This perch has it all. Height, sunshine, a perfect spot to keep an eye on the sparrows. This is the best perch in the whole tree.

Zaki:

Wait a second. How did he get that branch? Look at it. It's got the perfect bend, a little moss for cushion. It's clearly better than mine.

Zaki:

That's not fair. I guess no perch is ever perfect. I should just stay here. If I keep switching branches, I'll never just sit and enjoy the view. After all, a branch is a branch.

Zaki:

Right? Besides, spending all day worrying about what someone else has doesn't get you anywhere.

Meraj Digital presents: the amazing stories with Zaki the Hoopoe. Episode 2, Prophet Yusuf and the Well.

Zaki:

My amazing friends. It's me, Zaki, your favorite storytelling Hoopoe back with another incredible adventure. I'm so excited to share today's story with you. It's full of wonder, lessons, and amazing moments. Did you know each story we tell is like a tiny feather that adds to the great wings of our imagination? Together, we'll soar through time and explore tales that inspire and teach us.

Zaki:

So fluff up your feathers, grab a cozy spot and let's dive in together. A long time ago, there lived a boy named Yusuf. He was the son of Prophet Yaqub. But here is something awesome. Prophet Yusuf was the youngest in his family.

Zaki:

He had 11 older brothers. Wow. Think about how rowdy that house must have been. Twelve boys running around and playing all day. Now, Yusuf was a special young boy, kind, smart, and oh so handsome.

Zaki:

But what made him truly unique was a gift that Allah gave him. Yusuf had the ability to understand dreams. Isn't that amazing? Imagine waking up from a dream and knowing exactly what it means. Do you ever dream?

Zaki:

What am I saying? Of course you do. Do you ever remember your dreams? Did you ever think if they mean something? Dreams can be super amazing, almost like new adventures we have while we are sleeping.

Zaki:

I once dreamt about a giant pile of seeds, so many that they buried my favorite perch. Naturally, I thought it meant I was destined to rule as the seed king of all birds, or maybe it just meant I needed to stop piling all my seeds in one place. Nah. Definitely the seed king thing. 1 night, Yusuf had a dream that left him in awe.

Zaki:

He saw 11 stars, the sun, and the moon bowing down to him. Confused but excited, he ran to his father to share it. Baba, I saw 11 stars, the sun and the moon bowing to me. What could it mean? My dear Yusuf, this is a special dream but you must keep it a secret.

Zaki:

Don't tell your brothers, for they might become jealous. But here's the thing, Yusuf's brothers were already jealous. They thought their father loved Yusuf more than them, and that jealousy grew until it became something dangerous. Now, if you don't know what jealousy is, let me explain. It's when you feel upset because someone else has something you want, like a toy, a shiny rock, or even attention from someone special.

Zaki:

But instead of being happy for them, you feel bad. And that feeling can make you do things you might regret. The brothers jealousy wasn't just about dreams, they saw how much their father loved Yusuf and felt left out. Instead of talking about their feelings, they let that jealousy turn into a terrible plan. One day, the brothers came up with a plan.

Zaki:

They decided to get rid of Yusuf so their father would pay more attention to them. Can you believe that? Jealousy can make people do very bad things. Let's take Yusuf far away and leave him in a well, one brother said. Yes.

Zaki:

Then we'll tell Baba a wolf ate him. He'll never know the truth, another brother said. The brothers took Yusuf to a lonely place far away from home. Yusuf, trusting his older brothers, followed them into the country. After walking and walking for a long time, they all approached a small patch of land that had a well built out of stones.

Zaki:

When they got there, the most terrible thing happened. The 11 brothers all ganged up on Yusuf. Every brother grabbing him. Not only were they jealous, but they were also bullying Yusuf. How rude.

Zaki:

Then all of them together threw Yusuf into the dark, scary well. Poor Yusuf must have been so frightened, but do you know what he did? He didn't cry or scream. He stayed patient and put his trust in Allah. Can you imagine being all alone in a dark well?

Zaki:

But Yusuf wasn't really alone. Allah was with him just like Allah is always with us when we face challenges. Yusuf sat in the well alone. He had no one to talk to. Yusuf had his thoughts and he had a law.

Zaki:

It must have been cold and dark at the bottom of the well. But you know what he did? He was patient. Days later, a group of travelers passing by stopped at the well. They were all very thirsty and were desperate for water.

Zaki:

When they pulled up their bucket, they were in for a very, very big shock. Instead of a bucket of water, they got a water bucket with use of sitting inside it. How surprised would you be if you pulled a bucket of water and a kid was sitting inside the bucket? The people rescued Yusuf, and though his journey wasn't over, Yusuf knew Allah had a plan for him. But here is the tough part of the story.

Zaki:

The people who rescued Yusuf did not let him go back home. Instead, they took him back to where they were from, Egypt. It is said that Prophet Yaqub cried and cried for 40 years because he thought Yusuf was eaten by a wolf. But don't be too upset, eventually after many many years, Yaqub and Yusuf were reunited. But I'm going to save that story for another time.

Zaki:

Yusuf's patience and trust in Allah would lead him to greatness as he grew up. So what can we learn from Yusuf's story? 1st, jealousy can make us do things we regret. Instead of feeling jealous, we should be happy for others and thank Allah for what we have. 2nd, no matter how hard life gets, we must trust Allah's plan.

Zaki:

Yusuf's story shows us that even when things seem impossible, Allah is always there to help. And next time you feel jealous, just remember, sharing is way more fun than fighting. That's all for today. But don't fly away just yet. Next time, we'll dive into another incredible adventure.

Zaki:

Can you guess what it might be? Here's a hint. It involves stars, the moon, and someone very special. A special prophet that we will talk about a lot. In fact, he shows up in many many of our stories. Salam and see you soon.
