The Willies

Damo and Lily kick off the New Year with Return of the Living Dead — punks, zombies, terrible decisions, and a film that's somehow all three of hilarious, horrifying, and oddly philosophical. They dig into the baffling character choices, the pain-feeling zombies, Tina's spectacularly bad plan, and why this film still feels punk as hell decades later.

Show Notes

Damo and Lily shake off the New Year cobwebs with Return of the Living Dead — a film that somehow manages to be hilarious, horrifying, and weirdly philosophical all at once. Expect stupid decisions, pain-feeling zombies, punk energy, nuclear fallout, and the eternal horror question: why does everyone always make the absolute worst possible choice?

What is The Willies?

The Willies, a horror-comedy podcast about the things that scare us — "big, small, ridiculous, or genuinely unsettling." Hosted by Damo and Lily with rotating guests. Funny first, creepy second.

Damien:

A series of stupid decisions.

Lily:

No relief. Oh,

Damien:

hang on. What's happening there then? Hello.

Lily:

Hello. Happy New Year.

Damien:

Happy New Year.

Lily:

Are you sick of saying that to me?

Damien:

A little bit. Yeah. I am. Yeah. Yes.

Damien:

Yeah. It how long do you have to wait before you have you can stop saying it?

Lily:

Well, every first email I send at work has happy New Year. Mhmm. But then once I've sent the first one, I I don't. Right. In real life, to be honest, I normally forget to say it anyway.

Lily:

It's only when other people say it to me that I Sure. Am encouraged.

Damien:

Is that because you don't care about people? Or just Just don't care about New Year. Yeah. Right. I know what you mean.

Lily:

It's a forced pressure to start fresh when you can't improve on perfection. So

Damien:

I come out from a different angle, I think, than you, Lily, which is that I'm like, well, time is a construct. Correct. So the fact that we begin a whole new year, is there cause for celebration? I don't know.

Lily:

That's kind of the point I'm making. It's like forced, you know Yeah. Forced new leaf.

Damien:

Feels bar humbug as well to be saying that, but as when I was younger, New Year was all, like, great because you got to go to parties and stuff and fun stuff happened. Right? And then you get older, and it's like, just wanna go to bed, really. Yeah. So I don't feel much cause of celebration other than, oh, here's another three three hundred and sixty five of these assholes.

Damien:

This is a leap year.

Lily:

And on that cheery note, welcome to the first series of Stupid Decisions podcast of 2026.

Damien:

There it is.

Lily:

There it is. That felt quite smooth. I thought it was gonna be more clunky than that, actually. I'm proud of myself.

Damien:

Oh, yeah. That was good. Yeah. We've been talking for, like, for good half an hour before doing this.

Lily:

We have to. We have to get out all the, like, twitches and

Damien:

Yeah. We do well, I've still got loads of those.

Lily:

Yeah. True. But Yeah. We got the worst ones out.

Damien:

Well, the black phone, we start we went in, didn't we? Like, bang. And then we're like, this is awkward.

Lily:

It's when you forget what you're supposed to say.

Damien:

Why were you even doing this?

Lily:

I respect the silences, though. Do you know what? Really random not anecdote.

Damien:

An I You're go and ramble, are

Lily:

I I

Damien:

I hate you when you do Actually. Hate you when you do this.

Lily:

Well, I had to call IT support at work the other day. Yep. And I'm coming back to the New Year thing because he tried to make small talk with me on the phone about my Christmas break, which I hate. Mhmm. And then he started to fix the problem, and it went silent for ages.

Lily:

And he went, oh, I'm really sorry about the silence. And I went, it's okay. I actually prefer it.

Damien:

What the hell he took that? Do you think he was like, oh. Except maybe I need, like, a voice coach. More like a

Lily:

Anyway, moving swiftly on. So film film that we've chosen for this podcast, I'm gonna hand over to you.

Damien:

Oh, thank you. Right. So this is one of my favorite films ever even outside of the horror genre. Like, it's one of my fave it's I have a lot of memories with this film. Came out in 1985.

Damien:

It was, George A. Romero did his Days, Dawns of the Deads or whatever, and then Russo, who wrote that with him, was like, I meant my own fucking zombie film. And then this happened. Return of the Living Dead happened in 1985, and, it involved two of my favorite things, zombies and punks.

Lily:

Love them. Not not gonna go on another eyeliner. No. No. No.

Damien:

Really want to.

Lily:

I really want to. I

Damien:

really want to. Another reason, and I have not put it in our in the show Crib sheet. In the crib sheet is that another thing is that it gives us a small opportunity to talk about zombies maybe and zombie apocalypse. Although, I think that's like a

Lily:

That's a whole other

Damien:

It's an episode on its own,

Lily:

isn't it? Yeah. Yeah. And we're gonna have a guest for that one. Think we said.

Damien:

Yeah. We could have a guest, couldn't we?

Lily:

I think I've got people lining up.

Damien:

Well, I've got people, Lily.

Lily:

I've got a whole one person lining up.

Damien:

Oh, okay. I've got a literal horde of slow moving zombies. No. I think yeah. But that that's one of favorite conversations ever, and as it is yours as well, which is we found out we bonded over the zombie apocalypse conversation

Lily:

Mhmm.

Damien:

Jujitsu and black phone. Yeah. I think that's the three tenuous reasons why we're facing Is

Lily:

that the triple threat?

Damien:

Yeah. No. It's the only reason. It's like stubborn understays. It's only thing that holds us together.

Lily:

You take those away. Why am I so shiny? There's nothing. Did you not powder your face?

Damien:

No. I did moisturize, though, because I

Lily:

That's why. Fuck. Look. I can't do anything right. It's nice.

Lily:

It's like

Damien:

a sweaty little like Ricky Gervais. You know what I mean? It's always a bit sweaty, you know.

Lily:

Sweaty little rat. Monkey.

Damien:

Don't will get canceled by people who love Ricky Gervais. I love Ricky Gervais.

Lily:

I actually chose to start watching his new one on Netflix the other day.

Damien:

Is it was it Mortality?

Lily:

Yeah. Maybe. I haven't finished it. I laughed a lot. Anyway Right.

Damien:

Okay. We're showing the living dead.

Lily:

So we're gonna start with plot summary

Damien:

Yes.

Lily:

In under sixty seconds. I think I did the last two. So and also, you know this film way better than me. I think you should do the synopsis.

Damien:

Right. In under sixty. We need a stopwatch, don't we? I'm on it. Fucking hell, Lily.

Damien:

We're getting good at this. Episode three, we're basically Three,

Lily:

two, one.

Damien:

Okay. Return of the Living Dead. A bunch of punks, are kicking around doing their thing. They don't have jobs because they're punks, obviously, so they're in a car somewhere, but that comes in a minute. Right.

Damien:

So what happens is, trioxin oh god. Two t five, maybe, Is a chemical created by the US government, and barrels of it have been shipped around, and some of them have gone to a warehouse and have been forgotten about apart from, like, one dude who knows about them. Anyway half your time, so

Lily:

you might wanna move along.

Damien:

Barrel opens. It's bad. People get ill, but we're okay so far. And then corpses get burned and, uh-oh, it rains over a graveyard. That's unfortunate.

Damien:

Trickles through the thing. Zombies wake up, get up. There's nudity. There's punks. There's fucking wicked music.

Damien:

Really good soundtrack. People get eaten. People die.

Lily:

Send more No.

Damien:

And then the film ends with a big explosion because that's the best way out. The escalation is massive.

Lily:

Three, two, one. Bang. You

Damien:

had to rush me, didn't it? It's hard. I was gonna get

Lily:

into I feel like I did Black Phone in ten seconds. On reflection

Damien:

You forgot.

Lily:

It wasn't very good.

Damien:

You forgot the phone.

Lily:

Yeah. You didn't criticize me for it.

Damien:

No. Because I was just like that. Like, is she gonna mention the phone? I didn't think that at all. I was just thinking about something else probably.

Lily:

Yeah. Probably. You've got, like, you know, the speech moment. It's like

Damien:

Yeah. And then you brought it up. I I think I forgot. Yes. You did forget the phone.

Damien:

Anyway. Anyway, boom. Did you enjoy it? Yeah. I did.

Damien:

Actually. Tell me about how you enjoyed it.

Lily:

I mean, it was kind of a bit, like, kooky. Even, like, in the first scene when what's his name? Frank? And he's asking if he wants to see the corpses, and he pulls out a face. And I just thought, this is, like, silly.

Lily:

Yeah. I have no idea if that's actually the way it was targeted at the time. That was meant to be a

Damien:

little bit was meant to be bit silly. Freddie. We got the film in the background. Yeah. Yeah.

Damien:

I think it was meant to be like

Lily:

Like a horror, kind of laughable. A bit like Scream.

Damien:

Well, I could yeah. Like, you could say it's one of the first teen horrors because they're supposed to be teenagers. Right? Teenage puns.

Lily:

Which is outrageous when we move on to some of the next stuff. Yes.

Damien:

Yes. It is. Yeah. It was a different age. The eighties were not quite so censored in that way.

Damien:

Yeah. But yeah. Yeah. That's it. So Freddie is a young lad.

Damien:

He's working with oh god. Is it Bert or Frank? Frank.

Lily:

Written Frank.

Damien:

Well, I yeah. So Frank I get confused between Frank, Bert.

Lily:

And Bert is the guy who works in the crematorium.

Damien:

Yeah. But he's basically oh, now here's a word I don't wanna use. So he's a a potentially a German

Lily:

A Nazi. Expat.

Damien:

That's the word I was gonna use. Yeah.

Lily:

I know. But he had, like, Nazi chants on, didn't he?

Damien:

Then he's got, like, Ava Braun on a picture in the background. That's why and then at some point, he's anyway, he's coming down, like anyway, he speaks

Lily:

some truth. So Freddie's working with Frank Yes. In a warehouse? A warehouse? Supplies warehouse?

Damien:

You need her.

Lily:

Yeah. Yeah. Is it medical supplies? Medical supplies. Split dogs.

Lily:

So yeah. Because there's skeletons and stuffed animals that have died, but they're learning from them. They're like split dogs.

Damien:

Split dogs. Yeah. So they're there to give to, I guess,

Lily:

yeah, medicine. School. He's good. Right. You said.

Lily:

That's right.

Damien:

And they got the cadavers.

Lily:

For what I couldn't I've for what reason?

Damien:

I guess that's for medical students. But they're like he he makes that thing about, like, have you ever seen whatever with a perfect set of gnashes in their mouth or whatever? He's like, what he he says Freddie says, what does PT stand for? He goes, perfect teeth.

Lily:

Yeah. Which is so there are a couple of points in the film where they make comments that are absolutely foreshadowing. Like, when they go to the crematorium, and I'm really skipping ahead here, but Frank's like, I could operate that machine, I think. Yeah. Then it skips and he's like, putting himself in it.

Damien:

It's quite sulky, is that? He's kinda goes like, I could operate that. Because he knows that Bert's getting paid, like so what's their boss called? There's Frank, there's Bert, and then there's I wanna say Ernie, but that's Sesame Street.

Lily:

No. No. I think it is because I remember going, is that where the Muppets got the idea?

Damien:

Oh, shit. Okay.

Lily:

I think it might be.

Damien:

We'll find out in a bit when we we've written down names and scenes and stuff.

Lily:

Well,

Damien:

less We we without saying.

Lily:

It is Ernie. It is. Oh my. Because I remember thinking

Damien:

did that on purpose. You might have done.

Lily:

Anyway, backtracking. So Freddie's getting shown what to do. Yeah. He's training, isn't he?

Damien:

What's the weirdest thing you've ever seen Yeah. In this place? Yeah. And he's like, let me show you something. Then there's the great story about the, typical army fuck up.

Lily:

Yes. He's honestly if you don't like horror films, but you should watch it just for this scene because his acting is really funny.

Damien:

Yeah.

Lily:

Like Yeah. He's like, the corpses. Yeah. Like, he he does

Damien:

all this shit. And then he's like, you wanna see?

Lily:

I know. Help me

Damien:

out. And then we get this thing. Right. Just a real quick one, and this is not me going off on a tangent. The mad thing about this is that supposedly and I'll look into it.

Damien:

There was a case of some chemical shit that the army cooked up.

Lily:

Bet.

Damien:

Right. But it didn't bring the anyone back to life. But what it did do was make, like, dead people sort of just must have looked like a neurotoxin or something that did this thing and made them jerk around like they appeared to be alive. They were testing it on, like, pods and these bodies started jumping around, which I think he mentions, supposedly that's a true that actually happened. I don't know.

Damien:

Maybe we'd ask Eddie Bravo.

Lily:

Think he said because he said Night of the Living Dead Yeah. Was what happened, but they swapped the facts around.

Damien:

That's right. Yeah. They swapped the facts around.

Lily:

So it was the film was the I can't remember what the order is now. I don't know.

Damien:

But that comes to play later, isn't it? Because, like, there's a bit where when they're putting the pickaxe through the cadaver skull Yeah. And it's like, it doesn't work, and they saw his head off, which is wicked scene. And then it's like, oh, that's supposed to work. The movie said that would work.

Damien:

Right? And he's

Lily:

like Yeah. Did the did the movie lie? I know. Some of the acting in it. Good lord.

Lily:

Okay. So backtracking.

Damien:

Yes.

Lily:

The the army fuck up. Yeah. Was that some tanks of a chemical got shipped to the wrong place. And rather than phoning the army and giving it back, he keeps the chemicals in his basement. So that's your first I actually wrote that down on my notes when I was watching it.

Lily:

First stupid decision is keep keeping the tanks. Yeah. I actually wrote keeping the corpses, but that makes sense. You've said it's to do with medical stuff.

Damien:

Yeah. That yeah. That's part of the business. But, yeah, why would you keep these barrels, these tanks? What are gonna do with them?

Damien:

Yeah. Just wait until, you know, like, one of them cracks?

Lily:

Exactly. Or wait until you bump into one.

Damien:

Bang. What does he say? He has a great line when he hits it, doesn't he? He says something like, oh, it's like I don't know. It's dumb like it sounds super super strong, and he hits it.

Lily:

Yeah. He slacks it, and off it goes.

Damien:

Yeah. Boom. Trucks and comes out.

Lily:

So they both get gas?

Damien:

Yeah. They're coughing. And you see the skull, like, and then sort of music starts to be. And you got the dude in the barrel who is the, in my opinion, the best zombie. And if you do a bit of, like, looking around for movie merchandise and stuff, tarp

Lily:

I was gonna say tar it reminds me of Scooby Doo Monsters Unleashed, actually.

Damien:

Yes. No. You're right about that. Yeah. But, yeah, the tar man is like a you know, not up there with, like, Freddy Krueger, like, I have seen many t shirts with with tar man on it because of the way he moves and shit and

Lily:

Yeah.

Damien:

You know.

Lily:

That was something that came to mind though, actually, was I don't know whether it was done on purpose or by accident, but there didn't seem to be an agreed archetype for the zombies in this film. No. So you know how Scatter. Yeah. Because in other zombie films, either they're all the same or even if they are different, it's because they're tiered and they sort of escalate and get worse.

Lily:

Yeah. But with this, it was like some of them seemed a bit, you know, monster like like that one. Yeah. But then some of them were almost a bit, like, werewolf y. Like, the the girl, she's originally a human and then she turns into some, like, thing.

Damien:

Super pale hair gets redder somehow. Like, she's got red hair anyway, now it's, like, like super red.

Lily:

And she's like luring them in obviously with her sexuality and then That

Damien:

trap. Yeah.

Lily:

The homeless man. Oh, there's a new dread lady

Damien:

wanting to make my face up.

Lily:

But then there's also the ones so you've got the one that's like a monster that all he can say is brains. Yeah. But then you've got the one Right. But he can't say. So And then you've got the one who literally is so smart that he's like, send more paramedics.

Damien:

Send more paramedics.

Lily:

But you know what I mean? So, like, the very and then you just got some skelet then you've got the fucking skeleton lady who's just like a spinal cord.

Damien:

She's the best. So you got the dude as well with the he's got the little police little hat on. He's just waving the police the paramedics in But you know

Lily:

what I mean? So there's such variation in did they just kind of get excited like a kid in a toy shop and say, yeah, let's have one of them. Yeah, let's have one of them. Or was that the point?

Damien:

I think I have an answer for you.

Lily:

Okay. Good.

Damien:

They had more than one special effects guy. The we the guy who started it got fired three weeks in.

Lily:

Why?

Damien:

Or three months in or something. Three of something. Because he wasn't great. And in his by his own admission, he wasn't great. So, like, yeah, they bought in another guy who did a lot better.

Damien:

Yeah. And then they bought in, like, another special effects guy later on to do other stuff, and it's just, like, I think that they just didn't have any consistency. Yeah. That shows. It's also, like, a sign of that kind of eighties thing as well.

Damien:

Like, the the fact that trash does what she does later on.

Lily:

Who's trash? That girl. Is that her name?

Damien:

That's her game in the the game, her name in the movie.

Lily:

That's outrageous.

Damien:

She's Punk and She. You got suicide, trash, spider, Brian.

Lily:

Who's one's called suicide.

Damien:

Yeah. The dude with the, you know,

Lily:

the this ain't just a

Damien:

it's the fucking way of life. That's that's suicide.

Lily:

He's the one

Damien:

who drives the car. Yeah. Spider. And we're gonna come we're find these guys later.

Lily:

And then Freddie. Yeah. Right.

Damien:

Freddie. And then you got his girlfriend, Tina.

Lily:

I was gonna say it's Lisa or Tina.

Damien:

Yes. Tina. And she's like the most normal sort of preppy.

Lily:

She yeah. Yeah. That was there were some that were really punk

Damien:

Yeah.

Lily:

And some that were really preppy.

Damien:

Yeah. Freddie's, like, wearing his, like, lettuce jacket thing. Yeah. And then you got Tina, his girlfriend, then you got, like, their mates with a bunch of hardcore punks, which is incongruous Yeah. I think is maybe the word.

Lily:

Okay. Cool. So that sorry. That was my little tangent. But so he smacks the tank.

Lily:

Yeah. They get gassed. He hums upstairs. They've just been gassed, so he decides that it's a really good idea to spray chemicals to clear it. So that I wrote that down as a stupid decision as well.

Lily:

Because I was like, what are you doing?

Damien:

Just mix more chemicals.

Lily:

And then that's the eighties for you.

Damien:

Well, that's just stupid, ain't it? That's just dumb. I mean, like, you've been sprayed. It's not like

Lily:

I was gonna check my list. Okay. So alongside that is the friends, the punks Yes. Deciding they're gonna wait for Freddie to finish his shift and all the places they could wait for him. It's in the locked cemetery.

Damien:

Yeah. That however, that does track, Lily.

Lily:

If if you were punks. Okay. Yeah.

Damien:

Punks, goths, graveyards. I say this, like, the collective we being that guy who did drink bottles of Mary Down in a graveyard with his mates when I was a kid because we didn't have Instagram.

Lily:

Yeah. But you had parks. You know? You had outdoor spaces

Damien:

Lily. That

Lily:

didn't have dead people buried there.

Damien:

To my shame and those of my my kind, back in the day was that we avoided Parks because Parks was where people were who were, like, athletic and shit. And then when they saw you clunking along wearing, like, a thin white duke, bit of makeup, bullet belt, and winkle pickers. They're like, I'm gonna kick your ass. So there's a lot of that. So we kind of were relegated to graveyards

Lily:

because they were safer. And you didn't have the skills skills skill set skill set to hang out at the skate park because you couldn't skate?

Damien:

No. Which is frustrating because American punks were like skate punks after so they kind of melded those things together. Avril Lavigne. Exactly. Skater boy and all this stuff.

Damien:

But I mean, like, for English punks, we basically just hung around sucking our cheekbones in like this and then crying when people looked at us in a difficult way. So yeah. Anyway, so I get why they're in a graveyard. And, of course, the film needs that. Otherwise, they don't have really a bunch of a plot.

Damien:

But, you know, that's where they're waiting.

Lily:

Yes. And then you got

Damien:

I can't remember their names. You've got the other two punks.

Lily:

Yeah. One of them's a bit prep the boy is preppy. The girl has the big hair.

Damien:

Blue hair.

Lily:

Don't know what one is.

Damien:

All these actors weren't punks. Right? The special effects guy who got fired was told to make these kid actors look like punks, which is why they don't look like punks.

Lily:

I would say, yeah, he had like a 40% conversion rate there.

Damien:

Yeah. Exactly. It's like he looked at a list of haircuts and gone, okay, let's have a crack at these then. Yeah. Because her hair is not convincing.

Damien:

That's like The

Lily:

blue one. Yeah. Yeah. It's awful. Awful.

Lily:

Awful.

Damien:

That's the character that I I, you know, don't like the most. But there's this bit where she's with that preppy dude with the grey jacket on he looks like. Is that a Ferris Bueller?

Lily:

He looks like a yeah. Yeah. He looks preppy. He doesn't look punished at all. And he even talks preppy.

Damien:

Yeah. Exactly. He doesn't talk don't know what a fucking punk, does he? No. American punks and fuck like that.

Lily:

But, you

Damien:

know but he's like she's like, oh, was that Freddie? When they're walking to the crematorium. And he's like, nah. And she's like, okay. And he's like, well, how could that be Freddie?

Damien:

Why would he be going to mortuary? Yeah. You know? It's like, yeah. Okay.

Damien:

So fine. They've made that conclusion that that wasn't Freddie. Yeah. But we know it was Freddie. Yeah.

Damien:

Because Freddie's not very well now. Yeah. And they got a bag of weasels.

Lily:

Wait. Before we get to that point before we get to that point Yeah. We need to address okay. Firstly, the foreshadowing of so her name's Trash, is it? Trash.

Lily:

Wow. That says everything you need to know Trash. About her personality, not her body.

Damien:

Oh, that's

Lily:

Which we're moving on to. The person I mean, she's a misery, isn't she? And the foreshadowing of I will be happiest when I'm getting my brains eaten by a group of men.

Damien:

Old men. Old men. Old men.

Lily:

So, you know, we know she's gonna die. And obviously, in these kind of films, you can't die unless you've stripped completely naked in a graveyard

Damien:

And danced.

Lily:

Except for your woolly socks thigh high?

Damien:

Leg warmers.

Lily:

We go. Do you know what I was surprised at? Yeah. The lack of bush for the eighties. I was disappointed.

Damien:

Can I tell you the story of her bush?

Lily:

Please. Of course, you've researched it, you? Believe. Of course, you have.

Damien:

No. It's another one of those things where, like, in the eighties, you weren't allowed to show pubic hair. So

Lily:

Really? I thought it was all the rage.

Damien:

There was some shit about, like, no, you can't have that I don't know if it's the right amount of screen time. I remember it being a thing. Like, there was a film called Woman in Red. I'm gonna put it really short because this is a tangent with oh my god. She sent me a picture of herself once.

Lily:

Where is this going?

Damien:

Oh my god. She was in weird science. She's absolutely beautiful. Kelly LeBron. She's in this film called not Pretty Woman.

Damien:

Woman in Red. Right? And there's this whole thing about, like, you see, like, pubic hair for, like, two seconds is gone. Right? I think there was a there was a thing.

Damien:

So god. What's the director's name? Director of this film?

Lily:

Doesn't matter.

Damien:

Doesn't matter. Okay. But anyway, he's like, oh, we can't have your this showing for that long, so let's whip it off. So off comes the hair, and then it's like, oh, now we can just see everything. So they ended up guy who got fired, special effects guy, basically made like a little kind of modesty.

Lily:

What are called, like, not merkins?

Damien:

Like that. Yeah. It's just like a little modesty kind of yeah. Of that. Like a plaster.

Damien:

So that's why there is no that's why.

Lily:

Okay.

Damien:

Basically, originally, she was gonna Yeah. You know, because, yeah,

Lily:

you became teenager. And I was like, this is this is ahead of its time.

Damien:

Way ahead of its time. Exactly. Confusing for a teenage boy. My brother and I would sit there and watch the film and often point it out. Yeah.

Damien:

That's confusing.

Lily:

That's what you were saying. It's it's making me Yeah. Feel feel confused. Feeling things.

Damien:

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. But I mean, obviously we're gonna get to that bit quite soon, aren't we? The you know?

Damien:

But, yeah, she does the whole yeah. She's sort of sitting there, isn't she, with a not that. She's like, oh, sometimes whatever she she's like, when I dream about I know it's like a thing that she's obviously like it gets her excited because then it's like, oh, music starts. She starts tripping off.

Lily:

And there's lights. There's lights. It's actually like a club in the cemetery.

Damien:

Have some dry ice now.

Lily:

That's Yeah.

Damien:

And then you got, I think it's spider. I can't remember which one, but he's like that.

Lily:

Yeah. Like, I'm she's taken off her clothes again.

Damien:

And then yeah. That's what think that's what he says. And then she's up, and then she's dancing to that song by oh,

Lily:

fuck.

Damien:

I'll up. Anyway but but that's like a whole thing, isn't it? Now she's dancing. So I've been because

Lily:

I'm leaving start because it's come out of nowhere. It serves no purpose to the plot. The directors have literally gone, you're fit. Yeah. So you need to have your clothes off for the entire film.

Lily:

Yeah. She takes them off.

Damien:

Never go on again.

Lily:

She she never puts my she there's a half assed attempt to putting a sheet around herself that swiftly gets ripped off.

Damien:

That's only because of the acid rain.

Lily:

Again, I don't know what that is. I don't know what it is.

Damien:

She's trying to cover herself up, like, oh, because of the acid the yeah.

Lily:

Like, we need to make convincing that we haven't just hired you for your tits. Mhmm. So Yep. Let's let's try and put you close, but, actually, do you know what? Fuck it.

Lily:

Just take the shit off. Like Yeah. Exactly. You're here for.

Damien:

Exactly. But I'm not sad about it. Right? Because there's something about Of

Lily:

course not.

Damien:

I know it's coming from a male perspective.

Lily:

Her body is

Damien:

banging. Right. And, like, I think that it's kind of there's something that is sort of useful about about her because she becomes like whether the actress I can't remember her name, but but whether she likes it or not or whether you like it or at the time, she became kind of iconic because of that. Yeah. So she got put in a bunch of other films.

Lily:

To be naked? Yes. Yeah. Typecast.

Damien:

A little bit. Yeah. Just yeah. So she's like, okay. Well, can you be in my film, please?

Damien:

But I think she did quite well out of it as a career, and I think and watching an interview with her, you know, recently, she's like, you know, I'm really proud of the film actually because it was just like it allowed me to be me, do my thing, and, you know, people love the movie. So

Lily:

You really can't argue with that, can

Damien:

you? Own it. Exactly.

Lily:

I mean I mean, if you're gonna do something like that, you do just have to send it and commit a 100%. Like, there's no you've done it now. It's out there forever. But she

Damien:

feels like she does in the film. Right? Like, you know, she when she moves around and stuff, I know that it's, a direction, but there's something is I don't know. When she comes out of the so here's the thing. Like, when she comes out and bites the the dude with the shopping trolley, when the zombie hoards are starting to really kinda move.

Damien:

And you get that cool piece of music and then you get, like, again, more dry ice, and she sort of walks out of it. Red hair, pale zombie girl, basically, which is weird because weird as in, like, it's it's meant to be obviously, like, erotic, an erotic moment. But then you also, like, but she's a zombie. Mhmm. So you kind of how does that work?

Damien:

How does that feel? But when she kind of walks up and, that dude, there is something She's, like, one of the most iconic things I think I've seen in a zombie film is that, you know, that character, that person, like, you know, it's not often I know she's nude, but it's not often you get, like, a female strong female role in a zombie film, but she kinda gets it in her own way. That is the I'm gonna

Lily:

say that's a challenge and go away and see if I can find a strong female lead in a zombie film. You might be right.

Damien:

I don't well, maybe more recent ones probably are like you.

Lily:

But for its time.

Damien:

For its time. You very rarely got that. And then you also got that.

Lily:

Do you think she has a strong female role? That's that's that clip is like ten seconds long.

Damien:

It's like but throughout it, and again, this could be like a a terrible reading of it, but back then, I looked at it and just thought, wow. You know, that basically, I'm the lucky boy because look, there's boobs in the film. When you were like a teenager, it's like, that's just don't think it

Lily:

I think as an adult, you're like, it's fair play.

Damien:

Right. As a whole lot I look at it, and I remember my teenage self think, yeah. Yeah. Okay. Yeah.

Damien:

Yeah. But what I really think I think now is that, like like, you say she owns that shit. She's like, yeah. She's new, but she's dancing. She's doing her thing.

Damien:

She yeah. She gets chowed on by a bunch of old dudes and that's, you know, okay, foreshadowing everything. But then after that, she still exists as, like, she's biting people. She's always at the front of the zombie horse. She's almost like she becomes you could read it as, like, a bit of, like not like the zombie queen or anything, but you could she's always highlighted.

Lily:

Mhmm. But to be fair, that in itself doesn't really make sense as well because when she's in the graveyard and she gets eaten by the zombies, like, her head gets completely torn into pieces. Yeah.

Damien:

Where are the bypasses?

Lily:

She came back, she wouldn't have a head. She'd be a bit messy, wouldn't she? Yeah. She wouldn't look as good as she does now. No.

Lily:

Or she did then.

Damien:

Exactly. Okay. So have we are we have we done trash to death?

Lily:

I think so. I I knew that I wanted to talk about that, so I'm glad that we did.

Damien:

Yeah. It's just weird, isn't it? It's just like a another film where unexpected nudity happens.

Lily:

Yes. Okay. So we got up to the smoke and everything had come oh, bag of weasels is where we got to. Bag of weasels. So we'll go we'll go from there.

Damien:

Can I throw a stupid decision at you? Go for it. What's in the bags? The rabid weasels. Oh, and then and this is the bad decision, I think, in that's about to happen.

Damien:

Here's that Bert god. Is it Bert? Ernie. Whoever the mortician is.

Lily:

That's Bert.

Damien:

Are you sure it's not Ernie?

Lily:

Ernie's the boss.

Damien:

Okay. That is Bert. So Bert then pulls out what is like a desert eagle. Right? A gun, a handgun, which is massive.

Lily:

Mhmm.

Damien:

And he's like, I don't wanna burn them. That's inhumane. Let me take them outside. But what he's basically pointing at is he's gonna shoot individual weasels with a fucking hand cannon. Like, I

Lily:

don't know how that It's quicker death, isn't it? Yeah. But there could be a lot of weasels. I mean So he's gonna be

Damien:

up there like, bang one, bang two, bang three. It's like, maybe just incinerate him. Maybe it's quicker. Mean bad call to me.

Lily:

In the grand scheme of things. So they probably just chucked that in there as like a you know, he isn't he ever actually gonna shoot? He didn't ask how many there were.

Damien:

No. He should've really, like, lit their loads, because if they're right, I won't use the gun. Yeah. But what I think he really wanted was midnight target practice. Yeah.

Damien:

He was gonna string those things up and give me anyway, it seemed like a weird but it's just again there he is on screen

Lily:

now. Context as well as to why there's a bag of weasels. When the corpse that isn't like the monster reanimates, it's just a human

Damien:

a rubber

Lily:

it's like a rubber human. Yeah.

Damien:

A yellow

Lily:

It's running around the a

Damien:

yellow zombie. Yeah.

Lily:

Yellow zombie trying to bite Freddie, I think, or the other guy, Frank. Yeah. So they hit it in the head with a pickaxe.

Damien:

Honked. Yeah. They'd rather tackle it. It's Oh, they say he double legged

Lily:

takes He does a takedown. Amazing. And it's still moving. So that's when they say about the film, isn't it? Where they're like, it didn't work in the film.

Lily:

You mean the movie lied? Yeah. And so then they grab a hacksaw Yes. And saw off its head, so rubbery.

Damien:

It's good though because he's going,

Lily:

but he starts going, when

Damien:

they hit his

Lily:

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Esophagus or

Damien:

That one. Yeah. Yeah. The hole where the sound comes out.

Lily:

Well, that can be one of a few.

Damien:

Well, they didn't saw his bum hole, did they? That'd be very difficult.

Lily:

That actually happens in the Terrifier, actually. Does it?

Damien:

Yeah. We're do that for one day.

Lily:

I doubt it. It's terrible.

Damien:

I've not seen it.

Lily:

Okay. So then they cut its head off clean. It's still moving. So they're like, what are we gonna do? Okay.

Lily:

We'll cut it into pieces Yep. And take it to the crematorium. Yep. Is that yeah.

Damien:

I'll burn

Lily:

that shit. But there's a a Nazi who works there Mhmm. And they want to to burn it, and he's having none of it. It?

Damien:

He's like he's like, no. He didn't like doing favors, has he?

Lily:

No. So they tell him it's a bag of weasels. He wants to shoot them individually. Yep. Then there's another thing.

Lily:

They say he says, like, take it to animal control or something or Yeah.

Damien:

That's right. He's got all the excuses, all the reasons why. Oh, they say too much of a faff for me.

Lily:

They take

Damien:

You know?

Lily:

They take a hand then he's not believing them. So they take an arm out of the bag, and it it grabs onto his leg and has the grip strength to rip his trousers off, but didn't have the grip strength to break out of the bag No. Which is what Dan pointed out to

Damien:

me, actually. I can't claim that one. I'm no doctor.

Lily:

Or But you need a bicep.

Damien:

Right. How the hell do you I can feel it now. I can feel this happening up here, so I don't know.

Lily:

Because that was what I said. Because he was like, oh, it couldn't break out the bag. And I was like, well, yeah, because it doesn't have a bicep. Uses fingers. And he was like, but I guess latching on, you just need the fingers.

Damien:

Now we can't go on because obviously that it's an inside thing. Obviously, we know we know we know Dan, obviously a lovely friend of ours. Did he pause the film? Did you pause the film where you discussed this? Because I know Dan and I know that he liked to talk to the did you have to pause it and discuss it, or did you just was it a fleeting, like

Lily:

Fleeting.

Damien:

That's good. Because I could turn

Lily:

it on. To Yeah.

Damien:

Right. Okay. Okay. And that's enough. That's enough of that.

Damien:

We shouldn't really mention people without because you don't know Dan.

Lily:

You don't.

Damien:

You don't. He's good guy. We might get him on. Right?

Lily:

Yeah. We said we said

Damien:

it before, I think in episode one, maybe two.

Lily:

We talked about it in two.

Damien:

Let's just say it every episode.

Lily:

We're gonna manifest it.

Damien:

We manifest it. We love Dan. Okay. Right. Okay.

Damien:

So, yes, weasels, not weasels. Yep. We burn them.

Lily:

He grabs the so the zombie grabs his leg, so he agrees to burn it Yep. Which they do. Right. But this corpse is covered in the chemical. Trioxin.

Lily:

So the fumes go up out of the building into the air, and then what happens? It rains.

Damien:

It does. How unfortunate.

Lily:

It's called Murphy's Law, I think, where everything that can go wrong will.

Damien:

It's the escalation, isn't it? Like, uh-oh. We shouldn't have banged the a, we shouldn't have kept the drum. B, we shouldn't have banged the

Lily:

drum. Smacked it.

Damien:

Right. C, we well, we didn't know about the about the rain situation and the thunderstorm over the graveyard, but it escalates massively now because we haven't actually really got into the zombie film, and we're, like, an hour in at this point nearly.

Lily:

Is it?

Damien:

Yes. It's little over forty five minutes or something. It's we're we're a good bit through the film before we get the the moment, which, again, was a special effects artist who got fired, which is the famous scene where the zombie comes out of the grave like this, and then you can see the wire work through his chin as he goes, and then you get,

Lily:

do you wanna party? The the

Damien:

whole punk thing kicks off then. But that that's the whole

Lily:

that's the last skeleton.

Damien:

Yeah. Yeah. The skeleton.

Lily:

The the bit of footage that they used twice. Another thing that Dan's fuming about.

Damien:

Oh, man. You know, they didn't have

Lily:

a huge budget, I guess. Okay.

Damien:

It's like I know. I just saw that.

Lily:

I know. Also, you've got the names here of the people. It was Scuzz.

Damien:

Scuzz. Spider. Spider.

Lily:

Yeah. And Casey.

Damien:

No. Okay. That's right. So Casey, I think, is the girl.

Lily:

Is the blue hair.

Damien:

Blue hair girl. Right. Scuzz, think, is the thin moe oh, no. It's gonna go with a thin blonde mohican. I can't even remember who that is, so that says Also, we have a Frank somewhere, don't we?

Lily:

That's the main guy.

Damien:

That is the main guy. Wait. Freddie

Lily:

We've already talked about Frank and Freddie. The two Frank Frank's the one who just got in the

Damien:

Frank, Freddie, Ernie, Bert.

Lily:

All the things start to come out of the cemetery, which where the punks are having a party.

Damien:

They're having a party.

Lily:

And trash is naked. Yeah. And she does try and sleep with Suicide. Suicide. And he's like, have some respect for the dead.

Lily:

Yeah.

Damien:

He's like, that that's dead. And then the immortal line is like, you know, insane enough for uniforms. It's a fucking way of life.

Lily:

I know. Like, was surprised that he didn't That's why when you said I think he was happy that Trash took her clothes off, I was confused because

Damien:

No. Then Not him, the other dude. Spider. Yeah. Yeah.

Damien:

Spider gets excited by it. Yeah.

Lily:

That makes more sense because the other guy turns her down. Yeah. Okay.

Damien:

Yeah. Suicide is basically like a like your sort of strong kind of warrior dude. Doesn't end well from there, does it?

Lily:

No. No. Okay. So any stupid decisions coming to mind at this point? I'm gonna check

Damien:

my thing. Well, apart from dancing nude in the graveyard doesn't seem like a great idea. But the rain's like an acid rain. It's got a tri accident in it. So they start running.

Damien:

They get to the car. The car's shit because it's convertible. So they're trying to put the roof up, and the rain's coming in anyway. And Tracey is like, oh, no.

Lily:

I have just thought of a really obvious stupid decision that we just missed. What's her name? Tina. Tina goes off on her own to find Freddie.

Damien:

And she won't call him Freddie. Like, we know his name's Freddie, she's like Fraddy. She's like, exchanged it one vowel for another for no reason I could ever fathom. Fraddy. Fraddy.

Damien:

Anyway, she off she goes she goes to go and find Fraddy, But she doesn't find Fraddy, does she?

Lily:

That's really too annoying.

Damien:

Not yet. Because Fraddy's in the mortuary burning weasels. Burning weasels. And not, at this point, not feeling very well.

Lily:

No. Yeah. And she's gone down. So she's gone to the warehouse. She's gone down into the basement.

Lily:

She's shouting for Fraddy. Yeah. Fraddy. Nobody's replying. No.

Lily:

Yet she still feels the need to go all the way down and look in a barrel because that's where Fraddy would be.

Damien:

If I know Fraddy

Lily:

And I do.

Damien:

I do. He'd be He'd be in the barrel. He loves squatting in barrels surprising people. That's how Fraddy rolls.

Lily:

So Fraddy. Yeah. Oh, Fraddy. Classic Fraddy.

Damien:

Fraddy. This time, Fraddy. It's not Fraddy, is it?

Lily:

It's not Fraddy.

Damien:

I mean, I might be wrong, and I might be thinking about another scene, but isn't this the bit where she encounters Yeah. Right. And then Tarman is another one of these clever zombies because he starts to flip in Wait.

Lily:

So you skipped. So she's it actually built the suspense quite well because she runs away, falls through the stairs.

Damien:

Which she didn't know about because the director didn't tell her about it.

Lily:

Oh my god. Was real.

Damien:

She hurt herself. That's yeah.

Lily:

Yeah. Know.

Damien:

Bonkers,

Lily:

Health and safety at work. Yeah. So that bit was tense because he moved slow, but you were still like, oh my god. Fucking run.

Damien:

Yeah. Right.

Lily:

And then she falls fully down, so finds a cupboard to hide in. And she manages to put, like, a pipe through so that he can't open it.

Damien:

That's right.

Lily:

And then he finds a what is it? A chain or what? It's like

Damien:

a chain. He wraps it around the door.

Lily:

And it starts, like, reeling to open the thingy, doesn't it?

Damien:

That's some cognitive function you've got. He's in the bowel for you know?

Lily:

Considering all he can say is brains.

Damien:

Ah. Now let me correct you then, Lily.

Lily:

Because later on, he says, more. You dick.

Damien:

So there's a two word vocabulary he's got there.

Lily:

I stand corrected. Yeah. So then I think it's as he's opening the doors, all the other punks come to the rescue because they hear screaming.

Damien:

Yeah.

Lily:

And it's oh, spider. I know exactly who he's talking about now. No. Scuzz. Oh, scuzz.

Damien:

Blonde haired dude, I think he's scuzz.

Lily:

The one who is about to die.

Damien:

Oh, no. The one back side dies suicide because he gets his head bit. Yeah. And it's like mushy mushy.

Lily:

Yes. Yes. And then the zombie's eating his brain. And so then oh, the the guy long he kinda looks like Prince.

Damien:

Yeah. This is the guy. This is Spider, I think.

Lily:

Spider. Okay.

Damien:

Yeah. He's one who likes to trash his boobs and and goes, yeah.

Lily:

Okay. Okay. I'm with you.

Damien:

Oh, no. I'm gonna get canceled for that. He why? Well, I did like an accent.

Lily:

He does something like that.

Damien:

Difficult waters. Let's leave.

Lily:

Like LGBT vibes.

Damien:

Yeah. Sure. Yeah. Yeah. Although he definitely likes trash his boobs.

Lily:

Yeah. But you're getting that sort of energy. Yeah.

Damien:

Yeah. Yeah.

Lily:

He picks up a a can, like, of I don't know what it is. Throws at the zombie. Yeah. Doink. Super decision to me because he's then got no plan.

Damien:

He's like, let me in video games, this is called getting the agros. Right? So, like, I'll take this monster on and then, uh-oh. I haven't got the shit for it. So yeah.

Damien:

But who knocks someone's got

Lily:

a baseball bat, haven't they?

Damien:

And they're like, I'm gonna knock his block off and then

Lily:

That isn't Exactly. Yet. No. That's when they're in the house.

Damien:

I'll get confused because I'm sure suicide who

Lily:

gets bit then? Someone gets bit, like, by

Damien:

the tar man and his head's all mushy. I can't remember. I can't remember.

Lily:

But yeah. That woman, I think it's I don't know who it is. But

Damien:

because later on, stars

Lily:

get sticky and then

Damien:

When they're on the trying to knock all the wood up against the windows and then he gets pulled. That's later on there. Yeah.

Lily:

Yeah. That is later on. Yeah. So yep. So then they all run so he throws the can.

Lily:

The zombie looks up and goes, more brains because there's more of them. Yeah. And so then they start running away. And then I think it probably cuts to a difference.

Damien:

Happens later then, like, the the actual biting and and knock blocking offing.

Lily:

So then the others, they've burned where do they go after? They goes back to the house, don't they?

Damien:

Think so. Yeah.

Lily:

Yeah. And that's when they've called, oh, Frank and Freddie start, like, dying. Yeah. Yeah. Right?

Lily:

And they call the paramedics. That's right. The paramedics come. That's when they're still in the crematorium. In

Damien:

the crematorium. That's right.

Lily:

Yeah. And they come in, and they're like, you've got no pulse. You've got no blood pressure.

Damien:

And then Freddie's

Lily:

like this. 70 degrees. Right. Freddie's like,

Damien:

what do you mean no blood pressure, no pulse?

Lily:

I'm fratty. And so then they switch, don't they? And they're like and he's like, can I have a a private word with you over here?

Damien:

Mhmm.

Lily:

Yeah. And, basically, rigor mortis is setting, isn't it? Poor boy. They're in pain. Yeah.

Lily:

They're struggling. So, basically, the chemical is it brings the dead back to life, and then it causes the living to die Yep. And come back to life. Yep. So we know that imminently these guys are gonna be turning into Yeah.

Lily:

Zombies.

Damien:

They are done.

Lily:

So then I can't remember. I think the paramedics go outside to go to the ambulance because they're gonna take them to the hospital, maybe. And they get completely ambushed, don't the horde.

Damien:

Yeah. It's happening now, isn't it? Now we're in zombie territory. Yeah. Yeah.

Damien:

They're they're rushing. Yeah. Take out the paramedics.

Lily:

And I think they watch it all happen, don't they? They see Yeah. It happen.

Damien:

Yeah. They're like, oh, no. I think Ernie, He's like, oh, no. Oh, the zombies. Yeah.

Damien:

Oh, dear. Yeah. That's right. So that's paramedics down now. And then we've got an ambulance paramedics, which obviously comes into play later.

Damien:

We got now the understanding that Frady and Frank. Frank are Dying. In real trouble, which is gonna bring one of the greatest of all stupid decisions, which happens in every zombie film. Don't even need to go there, do we? Because we know what that you know, there is a particular trope, isn't there, in zombie films?

Damien:

Mhmm. I think I'm looking at you like

Lily:

I know. I'm like, oh, you think you have the same one?

Damien:

So let's not let's not, and then we'll just come into it later when the scene happens, shall we?

Lily:

Okay.

Damien:

Unless you want to.

Lily:

Okay. But what scene is next? So Right. Okay. Where are we at?

Damien:

Police arriving at Overwhelmed. Not the Oh. Not the police. We I know that's later, ain't it?

Lily:

See, I shouldn't have been here. Not yeah.

Damien:

We're getting we're getting

Lily:

I think I think we've done most of it, to be fair.

Damien:

Yeah. I know. Let's say the whole damn damn thing. I mean, I And we've kind

Lily:

of already touched on some of the things that are about to happen as well. So trash and coming out and luring the homeless person, that's already happened. We talked about that. Yeah. There's also the zombie being really intelligent.

Lily:

He goes into the ambulance, gets to the speaker, and he says, send more paramedics.

Damien:

Can I do the voice?

Lily:

Go for it. Send more paramedics.

Damien:

That was that,

Lily:

like That is smart.

Damien:

That's that dude's one line.

Lily:

And what a great one. So they send two more, only two. They swiftly get ambushed as well.

Damien:

Yep. Overwhelmed.

Lily:

Then there's four of them still in the house, which they've been like oh, no. They're still in the the crematorium.

Damien:

Yeah.

Lily:

It's Bert, Ernie Frank. Frank and Fred no. Because Tina ends up in there.

Damien:

Tina yeah. Tina's with them because she's like, Freddie.

Lily:

I know what He's like, I got a fucked up headache. I don't know how she ended up in there.

Damien:

I think she just went to the mortuary because you couldn't find him at the Yeah. At the evening. So she just

Lily:

ran off.

Damien:

But then you got Casey and the preppy dude who are now in their own place. Yeah. There's that little scene where he's like,

Lily:

I've always fancied you.

Damien:

And she's like, you're a prick.

Lily:

She's like, we're gonna die.

Damien:

Yeah. We're gonna die. And he's like, but maybe we can nah. He didn't even think about it. So that's kinda happening.

Damien:

So you got, like, three main locations now, haven't you? You got the house, the office, you need a bit, you know, the warehouse, and then you got the mortuary. Is it three location? Oh, yeah. No.

Damien:

And then simultaneously, you've got, like, Spider, Scuzz. They're trying to board up Yeah. This place now, aren't they?

Lily:

And it's failing miserably.

Damien:

Right. Scuzz, I think it is, is like bad decision again. He is more and more, the camera's closing on him, and he's putting up the wood and hammering in the wood or whatever he's doing, but he's getting closer and closer to the the reaching arms of the zombies. And you're like, any minute, he's gonna get dragged out there. And then he he does, didn't he?

Damien:

Yeah. And then one bites him and blood sprays. Quite a good blood spray, I thought, goes everywhere. And that's where they yank him back in that he brings zombie woman with him.

Lily:

Oh, yes.

Damien:

Oh. They chop her in half, which comes to an important really awesome part of the film, I think Yes. Where they drag that half woman zombie.

Lily:

She's a skeleton more than anything, isn't she?

Damien:

Yeah. She ain't got much left, has she? Just like this is waggling around

Lily:

her skull so cord Yeah. Is like a dog's tail.

Damien:

Do you know what she says though that's like, has stuck with me through the decades?

Lily:

Not specifically. Because she's not the talker. Right? Well, because they say, you can hear us, can't you? You can understand us.

Lily:

And then she's like That's right. Yeah. Yeah. And it's the first time we've acknowledged that they have intelligence.

Damien:

Yeah. They're quite chatty. Well, we've seen that, haven't we? We've seen the the paramedics. Yeah.

Damien:

We've seen, like, pick me but she's quite chatty. So it's like, why do you eat people?

Lily:

Brains. Not people. Just the brains.

Damien:

Just brains. Yeah. Okay. And then this line. Right?

Damien:

Oh, wow. Okay. Why'd you do it? Why'd you

Lily:

do it, love? The pain. What

Damien:

pain? It hurts to be dead. Between those two, makes the pain go away. And then spiders like this. You mean it fucking hurts to be dead?

Damien:

Anyway, I'm like, woah. Because what if that's true? Yeah. What if for real it's like, you know, you and me bonk like this, and I'm like, oh, I'm hungry. You know, I'm really hungry, but I'm underground.

Damien:

So what we're gonna do about it? Yeah. I wanna eat brains like that.

Lily:

Not awake because of the chemical. It only hurts because they've been brought to consciousness.

Damien:

Well, you'd hope so. But what if that isn't the case, Lily? What if we are

Lily:

You're not gonna know.

Damien:

Well, I won't know till I'm there, will I?

Lily:

What if you get cremated?

Damien:

Well, maybe that's the answer. Yeah. Maybe that's why I'll choose cremation over burial for that very reason because

Lily:

I think that's a good idea.

Damien:

Yeah. There we go. So when someone says to me, why do you what do you want? I'll go right because it hurts to be dead. Yeah.

Damien:

I would rather just yeah. It's someone else's problem.

Lily:

You doing that impression. Not that one. No. No. But Spider.

Lily:

He's like, tell me what the fuck is going on. It's like, the f's are so pronounced.

Damien:

He does. He gets he gets super

Lily:

excited as The zombie starts to move, and he's like, I'm a bust your head.

Damien:

He's the guy. Right? And then he's like, boom, in the baseball bat and then pine.

Lily:

The head comes off.

Damien:

Yeah. Yeah. Poor old time.

Lily:

Anyway, digress.

Damien:

Yes.

Lily:

So, yeah, they then just leave her sort of strapped to the bed, don't they? She stays there.

Damien:

Yeah. She but there's a, a little thing, Lily, because they're like she's on that that kind of those metal sort of Yeah. Surgical beds Tray. Tray things. And now I think it's just the rain from outside, but I can't take my eyes off it.

Damien:

There's a little bit of, like, fluid that's, like, near a spinal column, and I don't know if it's just rainwater or something From cerebral

Lily:

fluid even though that's from the brain, but you know what

Damien:

I mean? That feels like somebody likes that Ankamaz on TV over there now.

Lily:

Oh gosh. Focus. Focus. Focus. Focus.

Damien:

Anyway, so this is all happening. Boom. Scuzz is now gone. Apparently, wasn't a very nice person on set either.

Lily:

I'm not that happens a lot.

Damien:

Yeah. Right. And so what we got? We now got oh, Frank and Fraddy.

Lily:

So they come up with a plan to escape, which is they're gonna run out to the police car.

Damien:

Yeah.

Lily:

I don't know how they get there without getting killed. I can't remember.

Damien:

I can't remember. What I do know is it's around the point, I think, where Ernie's about to break his leg, break his ankle.

Lily:

That's Bert. It's pathetic. Like, rolls he rolls his The the Nazi. Yeah. Yeah.

Lily:

I thought we

Damien:

were saying he was Ernie.

Lily:

No. We're saying he's Bert. Okay. I can't. We're literally been saying that

Damien:

since the beginning. Yeah.

Lily:

It could be wrong, but we have been saying that since the beginning. That's right. So he, like, literally does this tiny little trip and he's broken his foot. Yeah. So him and Tina stay in the house.

Damien:

They They look after Fraddy.

Lily:

And Spider Spider and Ernie run to the police car. That's right. I know don't if they do actually run, but I can't remember how they

Damien:

get there. They they they run, and then I think that they just get cut off, and then they end up having to run all way back to the warehouse. No.

Lily:

No. No. No? They get in the car. They drive to the door to collect Tina and birds.

Lily:

And then the zombies are swarming them. So he drives because spiders going, you left them there. You left them there. That's right. And so then they drive off and he's like, we're gonna go get help.

Lily:

So also the bit that I think we've missed actually as well is really stupid decision, which might have been the one that we were alluding to. But it's when they're gonna lock Frank and Freddie away. They're about to turn into zombies. So they're like, we're gonna lock the door. And, Tina, I'm I'm gonna stay with them.

Damien:

Yeah. Real close to my boyfriend's face so that when he inevitably turns

Lily:

Into a zombie.

Damien:

Here I am.

Lily:

Yeah. Yeah. So they say, you know we're gonna lock the door? She says, yes. And so they locked the door.

Lily:

Unsurprisingly Yeah. Fraddy transitions into zombie status.

Damien:

He's got a wicked line, though, isn't he? He goes, it's like he's drifting off his knee, Tina. Like that. She's like,

Lily:

Freddie, Tina. And he

Damien:

goes something like I'm gonna bull gonna bulls up.

Lily:

He's like, I've just realized something. What was that, Freddie? I wanna eat your bread.

Damien:

And then you have, this kind of slow motion bit of him like this. It's like, oh. And then someone chucks acid in his eyes, which was nice.

Lily:

Yes. Because they break in. So he's, like, chasing her a bit. Yeah. They come in to savor, chuck acid in his eyes, which causes his face to be horrific Yeah.

Lily:

Which is good.

Damien:

Yeah. He's good, innit? Yeah.

Lily:

And that's when they come up with the plan that they need to escape. That's when the baseball bat happens.

Damien:

That's when the baseball happens.

Lily:

That's the

Damien:

baseball It's around nested. Yeah.

Lily:

Frank has stayed on the floor at this point because there's a while where you're like, where's he gone?

Damien:

Yeah. He's

Lily:

like, takes himself off to the crematorium and he climbs inside.

Damien:

Because he knows how to work the incinerator. Because he can operate it. I could work that thing.

Lily:

There you go. Force shattering.

Damien:

Yeah. And the song that song as well is great because Rocky Erikson doing burn to flames.

Lily:

Oh, there you go.

Damien:

So as he's putting himself in, it's like, burn.

Lily:

Burn to flames. Higher. Higher.

Damien:

It's as he crawls in and then you hear, like, the screaming and shit. But I like that because I feel like as a responsible adult

Lily:

He handled his shit. He also is sort of he's the reason why This all happened. Yeah.

Damien:

Yeah.

Lily:

He's like Actually, so is he a coward?

Damien:

No. No. I think that he's like, I don't want to eat people.

Lily:

Yeah. Fair.

Damien:

So I'm gonna go and do this and sort myself out.

Lily:

Yeah. And it's not like he can fix it, and it it's not a coward because it's not like he can fix it.

Damien:

No. He's he's taken the envoy out, I think, rather than be a problem. He's taken himself away. Out of harm's way, as my mom used to say to me when I had scissors. Yes.

Damien:

She was taken away and go, out of harm's way. Yeah. Best thing to do, really. So he's taken himself out there.

Lily:

Yeah. Okay. So

Damien:

they're they're they're done.

Lily:

Yep. So that's happened before. They've run to the police car. They've run to the police car. They've just driven off.

Lily:

Yep. And

Damien:

they don't get farther, do they?

Lily:

Tina I don't think so. Tina and Bert are left in the room. They end up climbing up into the ceiling.

Damien:

That's right. They're they're in the loft.

Lily:

Because then there's this moment where he's gonna,

Damien:

like, shoot her in the head.

Lily:

He's like, I'm gonna

Damien:

I'm gonna take her out.

Lily:

Is that because he thinks that Freddie will stop coming after him if she's dead, or is it because she's freaking out, or is it just because he can?

Damien:

I think it's the the SS in him again. I think he's like, I'll just shoot one more person before I go because, you know, that he's got my job back in Nazi Germany. I don't I don't no. I don't. I think that he's just trying to protect her from the horror.

Damien:

Right. Because he's like,

Lily:

I can smell your brains.

Damien:

And he's trying to get that ladder, isn't he? Even though he's blind, he's trying to get up in the loft and all that stuff. But back in the other place, now we got oh god. Frank.

Lily:

No. Frank's dead.

Damien:

Frank's dead.

Lily:

Spider and Ernie. Bert. It's Ernie.

Damien:

Remember Bert Bert's making a call, isn't he? Bert's like, is this the government? Because he's found the number.

Lily:

That's Ernie.

Damien:

Is that Ernie?

Lily:

Fucking hell, Demo.

Damien:

You're killing me. The yellow one with the big nose. Bert and Ernie from Sesame Street. Okay.

Lily:

I was like, what?

Damien:

Anyway, the boss who's owns the You Need a place, he's like, right, let's dial. There's a number on the side of the fucking barrel. Yeah. Because this is happening the same time that Freddie's trying to get to Tina. Right?

Damien:

Yeah. I think we've got a few scenes mixed up. It doesn't doesn't matter. But the the gist of it, I think, is that this is the point at which we've been introduced to mister military whose entire life apparently is spent waiting for one phone call. Yeah.

Damien:

Because he's a bit of a

Lily:

What was what's the random point of I can't even remember what point in the film this happens. The wife's like, I've made your favorite pork chops. And he's like, I had those for lunch.

Damien:

Yeah. He's basically an asshole. And I don't know why. He could've just been nice to his wife. Why did he have to be me?

Lily:

Thank you. Yeah. It was very weird.

Damien:

That reminded me of, a very small tangent. Do you know you know the Austin Power films? Austin Power. Right? So you you know that remember that bit where, like, they send up the rocket and it's like someone goes, Johnson, and then it cuts to, like and it's always it basically looks like a penis.

Damien:

Yes. And every time I that scene, for some reason, reminds me of that because I think it's like that military thing that cuts to this guy for, like, let's say thirty seconds. Yeah. You're like, what's this guy do for

Lily:

a what?

Damien:

And then he's kinda got some weird military kind of like he's got his computer and his phone and he's waiting for,

Lily:

like, one Right.

Damien:

He's waiting for this one call though. Right? And it just reminds me of that scene because he they just flicks, like, military, and then we're back to playing to the film again. It's like, did I was like a fever dream. Did I just see that scene?

Damien:

Yes. Like I said, I did.

Lily:

That was your first you've done well. Fifty five minutes. That's your first ramble.

Damien:

Okay.

Lily:

But So that's not that that's progress.

Damien:

That is It wasn't about eyeliner, though.

Lily:

Also, have confirmed that Bert is the boss.

Damien:

Bert's the boss.

Lily:

Okay. Yeah.

Damien:

Bert's the boss.

Lily:

So that is what you were saying. But at the beginning, we agreed that it wasn't that, but just to confirm.

Damien:

So Bert's the guy with sort of slightly clear trousers.

Lily:

Yeah. The boss.

Damien:

He's kinda handsome in his own way, but he's like a yeah. He he's the guy who owns the communicator.

Lily:

Yeah. Cool. And so then, yeah, he calls the military guy. They're like, thanks so much. We're gonna deal with this.

Lily:

Because they call in loads of police. Yeah. The police have got their their cones. They've cordoned it off. They're like, this is all being handled.

Lily:

And then literally around the corner comes trash Trash. Leading the pack

Damien:

Queen as

Lily:

well. Which is why I was giving a bit bit werewolf y vibes. Also her head is bigger.

Damien:

It's like she's getting more and more yeah. That's what I mean about power. Yeah. She's absorbing the power of the dead crew. Yeah.

Damien:

Which I which is the way I like to read the thing because she's becoming more and more yeah.

Lily:

Yeah. Yeah. So he gets

Damien:

the call. It's like, we got this number.

Lily:

And that you they're gonna deal with it. You've seen all these people get phone calls. They're like, yep. This and that and this and that. And what do they do?

Damien:

Well, we know what they do. The only thing they can do, Lily.

Lily:

They nuke him.

Damien:

They nuke him. They nuke him, which brings the film's body count because this this this happens. Well, first of all, he's like, oh, thanks for the call, mate. Well, not that because military is like, thank you for call. Roughly, we're alright.

Damien:

He's like, oh, I'm here.

Lily:

Okay. Literally. And he's like

Damien:

and then, obviously, the next call, makes his I just nuke that fucking place and 20 blocks around it. Yeah. And then you get the news reports, don't you? All of a sudden, you get, like, pictures of fire and ambulances and stuff everywhere, and it's like, okay. Oh, yeah.

Damien:

The the total casualties were under four thousand. Right? Yeah. But what was that one or three thousand nine hundred ninety nine? So we don't know, but we know that under four thousand people now if I'm the government, I'm like three thousand nine hundred and ninety nine people have died because this makes it look good for the press.

Lily:

Do you know what I mean?

Damien:

So the body count's now gone from about, let's say, I don't know, thirty, forty people dying around the place, policemen. Yeah. Blah blah blah. And now it's the death toll is now closer to, let's say, four thousand and forty.

Lily:

Yeah. Perhaps.

Damien:

So that that's happened. Reports of burning skin. But what else has happened that's mental that's absolutely like, uh-oh. We've escalated this now even more. Because it starts raining again.

Damien:

In a 20 block radius where there were more graveyards. Yeah. More dead pipe people. Yeah. I mean, they couldn't get it more wrong.

Lily:

No. They they couldn't

Damien:

they didn't, like, sort of go, well, alright. So this has happened, but how did it happen? And then you didn't give,

Lily:

like Yeah.

Damien:

Bert a chance to go, oh, well, you know, we cooked up these zombies, the the weasels. Yeah.

Lily:

We found this chemical.

Damien:

Right.

Lily:

We burned it. It was okay. But and to be fair because you could say, like, obviously, because the bodies get burned, it goes into the air and then it rains. In theory, like, that was a stupid decision, but actually not Why

Damien:

don't you know that?

Lily:

If you're and exactly. You wouldn't know that that's gonna happen. Yeah. And also, if you can't kill it by stabbing its brain No. And cutting it into pieces, how do you kill it?

Damien:

Like I would've sent in a a ring of flame throwing military bright lights just scorched earth, the place, but in a concentrated zone.

Lily:

Of course.

Damien:

I feel like dropping a nuke's just Naturally. It's a bit like, well, okay. If you if you're sure Yeah. That's a good idea. But, anyway, so that's that.

Lily:

But then but yeah. I was just gonna say it rains again. So we're expecting more zombies to rise, but they just show the clip from the original zombie rising again. Do you wanna? So, you know, they really, really pushed the budget.

Lily:

Isn't there

Damien:

a bit though where you also get a close-up with trash again with her zombie hall, but now she just looks up as you hear this the bomb, which makes the most comedic, like

Lily:

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Like, is that how bomb was really? I don't know.

Damien:

I'm happy to

Lily:

say I don't know.

Damien:

I think in the in the war, second world or first world war, they sounded like that because they had that thing, but I don't know. I don't suppose you'd really sense it coming now. It has happened. But, anyway, she's like, oh, no. Oh, no.

Lily:

Yeah. Here we go again.

Damien:

But it's all kinda quiet. It's it's quite a cool scene, really, as the mushroom cloud, which is terrifying. And, again, we're in the eighties. Right? So we are terrified

Lily:

Mhmm.

Damien:

In the eighties.

Lily:

A bit close to home sort of thing. Yeah. Also, I don't know what happened to Tina and

Damien:

Well, die in the bomb. Right?

Lily:

Oh, well, course. Yeah. But in in the sense, it never went back to them.

Damien:

No. You can't remember because it the concurrent thing is that he bursts through the the door in the attic, the trap door. Yeah. And then he just does this, like,

Lily:

Tina. And then

Damien:

seized about

Lily:

Okay. Yeah.

Damien:

I think that's the resolution.

Lily:

That's a really good way to finish it, to be honest. Yeah. Clearly must have, like, blinked or something.

Damien:

I feel like in days to come, there'll be someone say to you, Lily, recommend a good zombie film like that, So they're living dead.

Lily:

Depends if they actually want it scary or not, though.

Damien:

Oh, because ain't scary. It is isn't it brilliant, though? Yes.

Lily:

So

Damien:

So on that note. Okay. We've done the film, really.

Lily:

We've done the film. So it's time for us to do a stupidity rating. Do you know, I was thinking on the way over here. I can't remember.

Damien:

Up or down? You you had some weird, like it was like you had your scientists' glasses on when we first did this, and you were like, I think we should do this. We should do something. You follow, like, Pythagoras theory, and I'm like, okay. I'll do whatever you say, Lily.

Damien:

I don't know, man. Like, is it high or low?

Lily:

I I keep fucking up. So what do you think?

Damien:

My limited capacity for for, like, singular thought says that the higher the number

Lily:

The more stupid. The worse it is. Yes. Okay. That's I agree.

Damien:

Out of 10?

Lily:

Yes. Okay.

Damien:

I'm going a full on nine.

Lily:

A lot

Damien:

a lot going off on your own, hitting barrels of poison, just dicking around in acid rain, running from place to place. There's a rule in Dungeons and Dragons. I like I played, you know, I played Dungeons and Dragons. There's a rule. Don't split the party.

Damien:

They split the party, like, five, six times over. Yeah. It's it's terrible. And they do they

Lily:

redeem themselves swiftly followed by a stupid decision. For example, after they find Tarman, they nail, like, the door shut, which is brilliant. Because you're like, cool. He's not getting out. But then they run straight back to the 17.

Damien:

Yeah. Right? Yeah. Exactly.

Lily:

You're going nine. That's high. I don't think I mean, I wrote a lot down. Don't get me wrong. But a lot of it was sort of following the plot.

Lily:

I'm not gonna be as harsh. I think I'm gonna go a seven Okay. Actually.

Damien:

Come on. I'm never gonna argue with you about this because, like, this is the

Lily:

Which means if we average it, it's an eight.

Damien:

Is that how that works?

Lily:

Yes. It is. I got an f in math. Actually, no. That's not an average.

Lily:

That's

Damien:

They say they say mean.

Lily:

Median?

Damien:

The the bit don't The The medium. The medium. I don't I don't know. But it feels right. It's the one in between yours and mine.

Lily:

Yeah. Exactly. Fuck.

Damien:

You know? So that's how that works. Kids, that's how maths works.

Lily:

Kids. That's that is statistics. Sorry.

Damien:

That's statistics. One zero one. Okay. Cool. FMS.

Damien:

So

Lily:

And then our favorite bit, which we both haven't thought about

Damien:

Oh, god.

Lily:

Which always causes a lot of delay in our speech. Yeah. How we die.

Damien:

Okay. Now I love zombie films, so okay. How would I die? Because I'm the thing is right. I wanna preface this with, like, I have thought about zombie apocalypse and how to deal with it so much that to die in a zombie film feels wrong.

Damien:

Criminal. Right. I'm gonna get out of this. So for me, it would have to be I would die for a stupid reason that had nothing to do with

Lily:

the zombies. Your theme for the last two.

Damien:

Well, let's

Lily:

go to Your first one was that you fell off. You got out of car and fell off the bridge.

Damien:

I know what it is.

Lily:

Okay. Go.

Damien:

You want me to

Lily:

go? Yeah. When we go first? You just said I know what it is.

Damien:

I it's come to me.

Lily:

Yeah. So say it.

Damien:

Right. You get one guess as to how I die

Lily:

In this film.

Damien:

Based on the conversations we've had about this film.

Lily:

And it's not to do with zombies.

Damien:

It is to do with zombies. I'm gonna go traditional. I get eaten by a zombie.

Lily:

There's so much in something to do with Tarman. Oh, wait. He says, oh, no. I'm coming up with my own for you. Mhmm.

Lily:

He says brains. Yeah. Then he sniffs you, and he's like, never mind.

Damien:

Oh, cheers. And then I'm like, cheers, tar man, you and your limited vocabulary. And I turn around and this is how I actually die.

Lily:

Okay.

Damien:

I see trash. And I'm like, she's hot. Yeah. So I without thinking, I run straight towards her for a big old cuddle because I just wanna cuddle trash. Yeah.

Damien:

And then, obviously, you know, that's a bad idea. That's I die in the arms of of a

Lily:

Beautiful woman.

Damien:

Beautiful zombie woman.

Lily:

Hilariously. My death was also gonna be linked with trash. Yeah. I was thinking, we're in the cemetery. I'm having a lesbian awakening

Damien:

Yeah.

Lily:

To be honest.

Damien:

Is it while she's dancing? Yeah. Before she dies then? Yeah. Okay.

Damien:

Cool. Cool.

Lily:

Because because I think, otherwise, it's too similar to how the tramp dies, the homeless person dies.

Damien:

Well, he doesn't do much. He just lips at her like, oh.

Lily:

And then he yeah. Exactly. Whereas I think I'd I think I'd have more active engagement Yeah. With trash, if I'm honest. I'd be like, put in a performance, the boys are egging us on, you know, it's like a normal party as a teenager.

Damien:

What are you saying? You're saying you're gonna hop on that gravestone with her? Oh, yeah. Oh, dude. Okay.

Damien:

I thought you were judging her at one point, but now you have to realize that actually you just wanna emulate her.

Lily:

Absolute there's a thing with women though. When there's beautiful women, woman, women, there's this really fine line between am I in love with them or do I want to be them? And it's hard to tell sometimes.

Damien:

So I feel like there were Netflix crime dramas written about this kind of thing.

Lily:

Yeah. Right. Probably. Haven't murdered anyone. Usually it's it's from a place of love and admiration.

Lily:

Good. But so, yeah, I think that would be happening. And then I don't know what would help. I've got

Damien:

I've got got lots of fancy. Get woah. Hello, Lily. Is it that you two are scoffed by

Lily:

old men? That sounds on brand.

Damien:

That's Both of you are so kind of enamored with each other that you don't see the Yeah. The horrible old buggers.

Lily:

Let's go

Damien:

with that. And the weird thing is, they're not even dead. They're just some random animals.

Lily:

Oh god. They're just cannibals. Yeah. Just I was

Damien:

yeah. I like it. Sure. I like it. I I like I can envisage it.

Damien:

It's probably a long long time, hopefully. It is

Lily:

a plot You

Damien:

hopped up on the gravestone. She's like, hey, Lily. You're like, hey, trash. You're now busting moose in the nude, I imagine. And then a bunch leggings.

Damien:

Leggings. Have

Lily:

I got them from? The shop?

Damien:

The leggings.

Lily:

The place where they sell leg boots.

Damien:

Ballet store.

Lily:

Okay. Okay.

Damien:

This is good.

Lily:

Right. Oh. So I think we're coming to the Oh, we are. Which means we need to we haven't even talked about it, but choosing the next film, I don't think we should

Damien:

It's your well, no. We shouldn't, but it's your turn.

Lily:

It's my turn.

Damien:

I really railroaded you with this one because I didn't even know if you'd really like it. I this is one of these films where I'm like, has it aged well?

Lily:

Mhmm.

Damien:

And, you know, you've been

Lily:

in significant.

Damien:

Well, I hope so. I mean, I well, I've watched it again a couple of times since we decided, and I'm

Lily:

like Many, many times.

Damien:

But but since, you know, like, in the last I haven't watched it for a few years, and then I'm like and I've watched it maybe, yeah, two, two and a half times since before Christmas. And both times, I'm like, this film is it just gets better. But I thought you might be like, Damien, I don't wanna I think at one point I texted you and I was like, we don't have to do this film.

Lily:

And I was like, no. We're sticking with it.

Damien:

Right. Which was admirable, but I'm pleased that you enjoyed it.

Lily:

I did.

Damien:

Because I yeah.

Lily:

Think almost like it's like a cultural icon. You know? You need to watch it.

Damien:

It's a what they call it is a cult film now, but it is like a yeah. It's just one of those I mean, oh, I've got a surprise for you. It's nothing weird or scary.

Lily:

How boring? I'm drinking. I'm drinking.

Damien:

I hate to disappoint you, Lily. It turns out I'm like Wow. Turns out I've I've sucked down some trioxin, and I've not been feeling very well for the last couple of hours.

Lily:

Oh my god.

Damien:

I'm getting a bit sweaty on this. Okay.

Lily:

To the point. I'm like

Damien:

This year.

Lily:

Coming to a screen near you.

Damien:

No shit.

Lily:

This is very intense.

Damien:

They're remaking the film right now. It's being remade and being released at the end of this year.

Lily:

Return Living? Yep. No way. Yep. How funny.

Damien:

I know. And I had no idea that was the case before.

Lily:

Maybe we'll be doing that on the pod.

Damien:

Will you go to the pictures with me and see it?

Lily:

Yes.

Damien:

Good. We'll have to bring my brother.

Lily:

I was gonna say I'm your daughter.

Damien:

Yeah. And everyone who loves this film who I still know says maybe you

Lily:

Oh, like damn. Welcome.

Damien:

Right. So it's, like 20 of us then.

Lily:

Okay. Good. But We'll have a whole punk crew. I'll be in this

Damien:

fucking not for me. I think this is uniform. It's a fucking way of life. That's what I'm gonna say when I was squeezing into my old leather trousers. And he'll be sitting there

Lily:

Slipping into something comfortable.

Damien:

I'll be using not not to use talcum powder anymore, are you, apparently? Have you

Lily:

have you seen the scene of Ross from Friends of the talcum powder?

Damien:

This is what we're gonna be witnessing. So let me squeeze in these things on with my now chicken thighs.

Lily:

Good lord.

Damien:

And, yes, my I'll be sitting with my stomach up. You're unbuttoned.

Lily:

Yeah. Because it's so uncomfortable.

Damien:

And then when

Lily:

Well, you'll keep moving and squeaking, because

Damien:

you're sweating. Who's who's gonna play trash? I

Lily:

don't have the tits for that. So we need to get someone who does.

Damien:

Like like, you immediately jumped to, like, it could be me.

Lily:

No. No. I wish I would put my hand up and be like, absolutely. But I can't I can't. That would be disrespectful to her.

Damien:

Although, but, know, CGI is really good these days. So if you wanted to you'd like I could superimpose them.

Lily:

In real life when I'm at the cinema?

Damien:

I don't know. I thought you meant in the film, like, you would play trash. Oh. So they're like, okay. We can just CGO CGI.

Damien:

CGO? CGO. Anyway. So

Lily:

Next film, do we think we're gonna go I feel like we need to keep switching up the genres to kill it. Not genre. Style.

Damien:

Style. Why don't we run out of them, though?

Lily:

I just don't see that. Oh, we can we can stop.

Damien:

So soon?

Lily:

No. We're not gonna there's loads.

Damien:

Yeah. Yeah.

Lily:

So

Damien:

well, I don't know. I don't wanna overthink the next film because I feel like you're gonna

Lily:

I'll think of one.

Damien:

Yeah. Yeah.

Lily:

I'll go away. I'll text you at

Damien:

the end. Yes. Yes. Yes.

Lily:

Cool. Okay. Anything else we need to

Damien:

What do we normally we've done the we've done the how we die. We've done the our rating stupidity rating.

Lily:

I think that's genuinely it. We

Damien:

just need to

Lily:

sign off based on me. Was there any, like, links and stuff you needed to talk

Damien:

about? Yeah. I just yeah. I mean

Lily:

Or you'll put them in the info.

Damien:

I'll put in the info. But what's nice is that I think I'm quite surprised in a nice way about the feedback we've had so far. Yeah. And it's super new, obviously, and it's a bit it's alright in it, but it's like production value can be better.

Lily:

And, you know, that's I'm not stressed about it. We've this is our third episode.

Damien:

Well, you know what I'm like, God, I'm a perfectionist.

Lily:

So am I, but when it matters.

Damien:

Yeah. Oh, okay. My poor heart.

Lily:

This is meant to be fun.

Damien:

It is fun. But what I'm saying is that it's nice because, we've had a lot of people say that they have fun listening to us. And and then the and lots of people have downloaded the podcast and listened to it.

Lily:

So We love that. Thank you. All good. Amazing. Yeah.

Lily:

Until next time then.

Damien:

That's it. I'm not gonna mention this song. I'll just put it at the end. You're, like, waiting for me

Lily:

because you can see it's

Damien:

the last thing there. You're like Come on. It's so the song? Download the podcast wherever. It's everywhere now.

Damien:

I've literally sprayed it like like matter all over the Internet now. But, yeah, we're gonna throw some music up that's relevant to the film we watched just for funsies

Lily:

Yeah. Really.

Damien:

Thank you, Lily.

Lily:

Thank you, Damo.

Damien:

Thank you for sharing this time with me.

Lily:

You're so welcome. It's precious.

Damien:

It is precious, isn't it? We'll look back at this and go

Lily:

God. Why did I do that? Anyway

Damien:

Okay. Thank you very much. We are going I'm gonna hit this button. Say goodbye. Goodbye.

Lily:

Bye.
