Greetings and Welcome to The 405 Coffee Break with O.K. Solberg
New episodes tend to air over the local KMMR radio station @ 5 minutes past 4PM each M-F. And have been doing so, nearly every week since Sept 2018.
I'm D.J. Rasmussen, O.K.s friend since junior high, possibly your neighbor & this websites maintainer, whom strives to get each episode's show notes written, the transcript proofed and the audio posted to the internet within a few hours of that days KMMR air time. NOTE: recently been publishing most new releases by 4:30PM.
Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy the time we can spend together.
Surprise. I wanna again welcome you to the 04:05 coffee break. Get you cup of coffee, glass iced tea, maybe a tall cool glass of milk, and let's see what's happening.
OK Solberg:Spring wheat $5.64 a bushel. 550lb steer calf $5.07 on the top end per pound. A butcher hog in Iowa 59ยข a pound, and a 100lb lamb that's fat in Billings will fetch you $2.71. But guys, there's more, much more.
OK Solberg:Okay. Yesterday, it was candy. The candy man and the fact that M and M's removed their red candies in 1976.
OK Solberg:But don't panic. They replaced them in 1987, like I told you yesterday. So candy yesterday, today, great movie lines. So you know that I always or always try to try to find a bible verse for each episode. Do you know a bible verse that is quoted in a movie?
OK Solberg:Think now. There are more than just one movie not including the 10 commandments. Think now. Can you? Can you?
OK Solberg:The Shawshank Redemption, the warden says to Andy, I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life. And Andy gently chimes in on cue, John 8:12. And he was correct. Look it up yourself.
OK Solberg:Okay. Other movie lines today and in this episode, I'm not gonna tell you which movie they came from. If you don't know them, well, I'm gonna weep for you. So this could be like a quiz with no answers given, but you should know them. Ready?
OK Solberg:Here. I'll start out easy. I'm gonna make him an offer he can't refuse. You remember it? 2nd one is easier yet.
OK Solberg:Toto, I have a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore. Moving to the next one. Think now. If you haven't seen this movie, you need to look it up. What we've got here is a failure to communicate.
OK Solberg:Here's one everyone knows and loves. You're gonna need a bigger boat. How about this one? After all tomorrow is another day and with that one being said here's one that I'm even more fond of. Well, what if there is no tomorrow?
OK Solberg:There wasn't one today. Name the movie. Next. My mama always said life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get.
OK Solberg:Oh, here. This is a favorite of mine. Think about it. It's longer. It's more than a one liner.
OK Solberg:You ready? It's the same thing your whole life. Clean up your room, stand up straight, pick up your feet, take it like a man, be nice to your sister, don't mix beer and wine ever. Oh, yeah. And don't drive on the railroad tracks.
OK Solberg:Laugh with me on this one. By the way, you know, when you're telling these little stories, here's a good idea. Have a point. It makes it so much more enjoyable for the listener. If you don't get this one, I'll give you a movie pass for the rest of your life because you need to catch up.
OK Solberg:Listen now. Wax on, wax off. Another one I'm particularly fond of is this one. Gentlemen, gentlemen, you can't fight in here. This is the war room.
OK Solberg:Laugh with me on this next one. The dude abides. Let's go bowling, Donnie. Flashing us way back. Listen now.
OK Solberg:Every time a bell rings, an angel gets his wings. And here's the one I was building to. I knew where I was going when I started and this one is fantastic. If you don't know it, you ask around, find somebody that does and watch the movie. Here we go.
OK Solberg:And I quote, I might be the only person on the face of the earth that knows you're the greatest woman on earth. I might be the only one who appreciates how amazing you are in every single thing that you do. How you are with Spencer and and how every single thought that you have and how you say what you mean and how you almost always mean something that's all about being straight and good.
OK Solberg:I think most people miss that about you and I watch them wondering how they can watch you bring their food and clear their tables and never get that they just met the greatest woman alive. And and the fact that I get it makes me feel good about me, end of quote.
OK Solberg:Yeah. I mean, yeah. That'll do, pig. That'll do.
OK Solberg:So until next time, as you go out there, remember now, don't be bitter.
