In today's exploration of the Tanya, we delve into the concept of the "banim," the children of G-d, as discussed in Chapter 41. This chapter illuminates a profound yet simple truth: each and every one of us is inherently connected to the Divine. Just as a child cannot sever ties with a parent, we cannot sever our bond with the Almighty. This eternal connection is the bedrock of our existence.
The Alter Rebbe, author of the Tanya, teaches that the soul of every Jew is a "chelek Eloka mima'al," a piece of G-d from above. This means that within each of us lies a spark of the Divine, pure and untainted, no matter our actions or circumstances. This spark is our true essence and our most authentic self.
When faced with challenges or when we feel distant from spirituality, it's crucial to remember this inner spark.
